Although they supplied us with a fan, the Hotel could definitely do with Air Conditioning, we spent the hottest day of the year there, and even though we had the windows open, it was still uncomfortable, it’s such a shame as that was the only problem in which was otherwise a pleasant stay

I enjoyed my stay at The Royal National. The only thing to mention is you can get a bit of noise from the courtyard bar in the evening, but that's it. The room was nice and clean, and the breakfast was excellent. Something for every taste.

We booked with triple plus room and it was worth the extra money. It was spotless clean with comfortable beds and pillows and a modern bathroom with great amenities. Highly recommended. The location of the property was excellent with Russell Square underground station a 3 minute walk away.

No air con in rooms and when windows are open it’s very noisy, they know this and they provide ear plugs!!

A good business/tourist hotel near Russell Square. Property is vast, well maintained and very clean. Rooms are fairly Spartan, though beds are exceptionally comfortable. Lack of air conditioning is a problem in warmer months.

The hotel is in a great location.
It was very very busy,so check in took a while but there were a lot of school trips so I think it was just bad timing.
Friendly & helpful staff.
Only downside was that the room was a little warm and there was no air conditioning.

Great location. Short walk to the Russell Square station. Breakfast was outstanding! They call it a Continental breakfast but it was a full English breakfast. Beds were very comfortable! Our first complaint is that the property doesn’t have air conditioning and the windows only open about 2 inches. We were there in a heat wave and the fan they supplied was rather useless. The other concern is that there are frequent ambulances and the sirens are very loud. They gave us ear plugs, which helped a lot. We would definitely return to this location.

A big crow on Saturday night so very noise until late evening close to midnight. No AC in room so I need to leave the window open. Avoid this room unless you want to join the party.

This hotel is very well situated with the Hop On/Big Bus having a stop right there, as well the amenities are fantastic. A very cute, clean and delish coffee and pizza restaurant with a nice outside patio as well as modern and comfortable inside seating right beside a wonderful Pub that also has indoor and outdoor seating. The food was very good at both places and it was so convenient to just get back to the hotel after a full and busy day sightseeing on the bus to have great choices right there. The staff were really great as well.
Our room was also very clean and a very nice updated bathroom with a huge tub/shower unit. We would certainly stay here again.

This was a great hotel if you are traveling by train. 10 minutes walk to Eustin or St. Pancras. Older hotel and does not have air conditioning. You can get a fan on request. We were there during a few school trips which made it busy at breakfast and a bit loud in the evening. The staff were great and helpful navigating the kids

Clean. Beds comfortable. Large room. However; very hard to sleep in the non-air conditioned hot box. Window tilted in about 6” without a screen making me nervous a bird or insects would make it in my room. Noise from the street was unbearable due to the open window. Could not close the drapes or you would not get fresh air so the lights from the building across flooded the room all night and the sun streamed in the room in the morning. Had to leave the drapes open during the day so the air could flow but the sun heated up the room. No win situation.
Lobby was large and open but had not one piece of furniture to gather or wait for other members of our party. Weird!

Breakfast on site was typical buffet.

It felt like a youth hostel masquerading as a hotel.

Staff was immensely helpful in helping us organize taxi, underground to the airport.
It turned 91 degrees in London and there’s no air conditioning in this hotel or many others. They brought us a fan to use.
The staff was very helpful in any way we needed and other than the heat, we can’t complain.

This hotel is very big and belongs to a chain of \"Imperial\" Hotels in London UK. It is in a great location with good access a short walk to Russell Square tube station. Lots of very good restaurants, and parks in the area.

If arriving at St. Pancras station, it is quiet a long walk pulling wheeled bags, so would advise taking a Uber or transferring tubes to get to the Russell Square station.

The staff were very friendly and helpful with questions and providing directions.

It would be nice if it was quieter and the had quiet closing doors, they slam shut. With the hotel being so big, you hear a lot of door closing at all hours.

Great location. The neighbourhood is fairly quiet and calm while being nearby attractions and transportation. The rooms were small but comfortable beds. There was no air conditioning which would have been fine but the heat couldn’t be turned off. The pipes that connected to the radiator were also very hot to the touch, which may be a concern for anyone sleeping in the bed closest to that wall. The bathroom was quite small but having a tub was convenient for laundry.

Water often spill onto the floor. For sfety, guest must put a towel in front of the shower opening to avoid a wet tile floor.

This hotel was reasonably priced so my expectations were not high. This hotel has over 1000 rooms and is the hotel where a bus load or 2 drop off 100 people at one go. There is nothing wrong with that but it was full of children on school trips. It can get very noisy.
I booked a 2 nights stay. The room given to us was a family room
1 double and 1 single. The room was tatty. The bathroom door would not shut as the door was too big! The beds were comfortable and the pillows were nice. The bed linen was good too. Unfortunately, a very disturbing mouldy smell was lurking in the corner by the double bed. It was bad. I decided to ask if it was possible for us to be moved to another room for our second night. It was that bad.
The lady who helped us could not be nicer. In fact, all the staff at this hotel were so pleasant and nice. Anyway, we were moved to a double room to their slightly posher bit called City Sleeper. The room was a bit smaller but much smarter and very clean. She also gave us a free breakfast. The way she handled my complaint was very professional and on the nicest manner.
Would I stay here again? Probably not. It is too big and hundreds of school children is annoying!
Just a suggestion, in case the hotel does read this. Put somewhere to sit in the foyer. Not a chair in sight! ( But the porter did go fetch 2 chairs for us to sit while we waited, which was very nice) I just think there should be chairs already there.

Clean, quite spacious room for 3 people. Another chair- only one - would have been useful. Had an issue with sockets/ tv tripping a couple of times but dealt with quickly when reported. Lovely breakfasts. Staff very helpful.
The room would have benefited from double or secondary glazing as being on a main road it was noisy. The complimentary ear plugs unfortunately were unsuitable as the design was painful in the ears. We did manage to sleep and enjoyed our stay.

We liked this place, didn't love it. There was no way to regulate the room temperature. We also noticed that the bathroom didn't have an exhaust fan. The walls need some sound-proofing. It was priced right. The neighborhood was great. It was a quick walk to the tour buses and British Museum. The breakfast was pretty good for the price. The street noise was very loud. All in all, it was a good place for the price we paid.

I liked the 3 separate beds and that we can leave our luggages before check in time and after check out time. Very convenient that you can use the rest of the time checking out the area before going to the airport.

What I didnt like is that we cannot use the TV, no small fridge, and the there's no general charging area. The adaptor is different and limited.

The staff were helpful and accommodating.

A very large hotel, just off Russell Square and only a few minutes walk from Russell Square tube station. The hotel was busy and seemed popular with international visitors. The room was comfortable and had all the amenities you need. The washbasin in the bathroom was a bit small and the tap quite high (good for filling water bottles), but if you're not careful you will splash water everywhere. Staff didn't mention breakfast at check-in. I don't think I booked it, but a reminder about breakfast could have been useful, although there are plenty of shops nearby. Some of the decor in communal areas and corridors is quite dated, but rooms themselves are in better condition.

Wonderful location with just a couple minute walk to Russell Square Station (Picadilly Line). The room was clean and a decent size for London. Breakfast buffet was delicious and good value. Just be careful with the shower flooding because the water pressure was too much to handle all at once for the drain. There is luggage storage which is great but was annoyed that I had to take out and toss my sealed water bottle I just bought out of my backpack pocket in order to store.

Easy to travel to, and it’s also easy to travel to other places from this hotel since there’s stations nearby from a walkable distance. There’s two restaurants downstairs if you go outside, both owned by the hotel, they are quite decent, the prices are also decent. The floor of my hotel room had some orange / red stain next to my bed, but other than that it was clean. I do have to say that at night it gets really hot, there’s no AC, so open up the window a little at night. There’s also no toothbrushes, so bring your own, along with toothpaste. Check in and out was pretty quick. Decent experience for the price.

Room was clean; staff were friendly and helpful; location was ideal for sightseeing and travel to other areas in England for day trips (easy walk to Euston Station and St. Pancras/Kings Cross). Underground is an easy walk from hotel and plenty of shops and restaurants nearby for meals and souvenirs. There are two parks at either end of the block for enjoying nature. I especially enjoyed the cafe and pub onsite for days when I didn’t want to go back out for dinner. Would recommend staying here for location and value.

I got a late check out at 19:00 for 50% of the room price I paid , this was ideal for us. Staff were great at the reception and the housekeeping got us an iron quickly after asking and with a smile. I was a little disappointed in our stay. The hotel and room was very tired and in need of an update. In the morning the windows were running with condensation. The windows let an awful lot of noice through and I was awake for the 3 nights listening to the roar of traffic.
The restaurants attached to the hotel were very expensive and not of the best quality. I’d recommend finding somewhere else to eat.
On the day of leaving we were in a rush and needed a taxi. They said to just wait out in the forecourt ans taxis arrived every few minutes and they wouldn’t specifically call a cab. After a 15 min wait we left, turned onto the road and flagged one down immediately.
Very underwhelming experience. It was ok at best.
