I was at this hotel for about 15 minutes and realized I couldn't stay. Whatever they were using to clean made my eyes water, I was sneezing, and I could taste it in my throat. Unfortunately, they had already charged my credit card and said it was non - refundable. Even tho it was a severe irritant to me, they would not refund any of my money. Do not recommend.

Considering I paid such an over inflated price for my room for one night, the first game I had to play on entering my room was 'is it blood or ketchup' that was staining the top of the chest of drawers. I also had to play 'dodge the stray hair' while in the small shower' which was hanging off a broken soap tray. I understand the hotel was busy (I wouldn't have booked it if there had been more choice in Glasgow for the night I needed) but at double what I paid for a suite in the Strand Palace Hotel London some years ago (I know!!!, but I needed to stay in Glasgow on that one date and everywhere else was fully booked), they could have at least made sure the room was clean in advance. If I had paid a price reflecting on the quality of the accommodation (i.e. an awful lot less) I would have been more accepting of the situation... The staff were very apologetic the next day but they had my money and I just wanted to get out.

A nice hotel. Shops and bus service nearby.
Some steps to climb to go up to the front door though and also inside to the rooms but my suitcase was carried upstairs for me by the receptionist - very helpful.

We had a guest stay and this is the feed back.

• Very small room, no room to open his suitcase.
• The room had a bad smell.
• No water pressure in the shower.
• Had to climb of the toilet to get to shower.
• Everything was falling apart in the building

They guest was due to stay for 4 nights and only stayed 1.
The hotel have ignored all emails complaining about the hotel.
We request as refund for the 3 nights they didn't stay and this has also been ignored.
This was due Cop26 so I am sure they re sold the room.

Not what it seems or says on the tin!

Due to weather conditions our travel arrangements were cancelled and required immediate accommodation. It was very disappointing, didn't look clean, was dated and when asked about breakfast was a told 'he could do it for £40!!
The room was an immediate shock to the system and also the fact you shared a toilet and shower with 4/5 other rooms. The room was cold, bedding stained! My daughter was in tears. We left (never intending staying) and managed to get in at an Ibis for £10 more inc. breakfast. Well appointed room, warm, comfortable and clean. It was more like a DSS/Benefits bed sit and well over priced for what it offers. DO NOT GO! You have been warned.

Off site parking: first come, first serve basis. We parked near the hotel. Upon checking in the morning, the right side mirror of our car got broken. It looks like it was hit by a passerby.

Check-in: Smooth, reception asks for ID.

Room: we were placed on ground floor, room 25. Beside the reception. Has twin beds. Comfort room is clean. Amenities provided except for soap, toothbrush, toothpaste and shower cap. Towels are provided. Hot water working properly.
Spacious room. Good for 4 people. The bed is comfortable. Everything in the room looks old but is clean and good enough to use. Pillows are soft. Mattress/sheets looks yellow but clean. Lighting in the room is great. Plenty of cabinets. A couple of hangers were provided. Tea/coffee are available. Heater in the room is old and takes time to work.

Could not find a TV remote control but that was ok as we were tired and went to sleep. Next morning I looked under the bed for remote control and did not find it there but saw lots of fluff and filth and even discarded letter from a previous occupant. Told reception about the dirt under the bed and they said they would sort it.

Friendly Staff and Comfortable Stay

the staff were really friendly and the hotel was comfortable. when breakfast was provided, we arrived a tad late, however the staff didn't mind and were friendly and allowed us to continue. the location was slightly hard to find because of construction during the time we travelled (not the hotel's fault) but the night stay was really quiet and you wouldn't notice it's along a busy highway.

All right for the money.

Receptionist very kindly let us into room an hour early. Room was very basic looked nothing like what was online. Bedding seemed very clean but there was a few black marks on both quilt covers. Didn't try breakfast as thought it finished at 9.30am not 9am.

The entrance is a long way up from the sidewalk.

Unfortunately I did not stay at the Charing Cross Hotel. I arrived at the bottom of the stairs that lead to the hotel entrance with one very large suitcase and a roll on. I just could not carry the suitcases up the stairs to get into the hotel. I rang the hotel to ask if I could cancel my booking but they said that this was not a reason that they allow you to cancel. I will know in the future to make sure I look carefully at the photo of a hotel taken from the perspective of the footpath in front of it so I will not book a hotel that has more than 8 steps to get me to its entrance. Please disregard the comments but I had to press the comments buttons to get through to make these comments. The hotel looks lovely in the photos and were I to need a place to stay and I only had hand luggage I would book it again.

As soon as we saw our room we wanted to check out, but they wouldnt give us our money back. Booked two nights and were told we could talk to the mgr the next day about getting 2nd night refunded and mgr was never available. No desk clerk the next morning either. DO NOT STAY HERE

Location for our needs was perfect. Room was tiny with double bed against a wall so oonly one side was accessible!!!
Ensuite was a cupboard,!!
Curtains weren't long enough to reach the window ledge!

What You See Is What You Get.

Overall a good experience. Does what it says on the tin. If you need a lift this isn’t the one for you. It’s right on the cusp of the city centre, rooms aren’t en-suite but toilet/shower rooms are clean. Bedrooms cosy with warm, comfy beds, a telly and free Wi-Fi. Cooked or continental breakfast included in the price, although dining room/kitchen aren’t exactly the fastest nor are they particularly forthcoming which is a shame as check in/out is quick and easy with desk staff who are warm, welcoming and friendly. I’d go back again and would recommend to others.

The Good: Cheap and centrally located.
The Bad: Noisy, both outside street noise and guests (thin walls, Italian young 20s group).
The Ugly: Copper shows up at my door 10 minutes after I check in. Says has report of criminal matching my description. Asks for ID, I show him my passport. Obviously mistaken ID and that was the end of the matter. Cop was polite, but I suspect the Front Desk guy (mistakenly) 'grassed me'.

Got what we expected for the money we paid, situated at Charing cross it was fine for going down to the centre, and also good for the SEC Hydro.
Breakfast was fine and enough for us, only problem for us was the steep stairs up to the room, but hey ho! i'm not as fit as i was. All in all a good three star Guest house.

There were a few screws needing tightened and general DIY needing seeing too but I'd deffinetly book again as the price was good and it was a perfect place to crash out after a night out in Glasgow

I stayed on the top floor. There was LOUD banging - like moving big appliances - all night. The next day staff said it was a vent, so they were aware of it. It was very clean, with a cooked breakfast. There were two communal bathrooms for the floor. One of the showers dials were mounted so high I couldn't touch them, so had to redress, gather all my things and change shower rooms. There were plenty of tea and coffee items. Staff was very polite and accommodating. This is a BASIC hotel, and the price reflects this.

Ok if you want to share a bathroom with 10 others

The hotel location was ideal for us. We found the room on the top floor to be very small which was compounded with reduced headroom absolutely be the bed due to the roof timbers. The bed was a double, bit comfortable on one side and hard/ creaky on the other. The breakfast was nice inc a fully cooked version. The one major thing was not toilet or bathroom in the actual accommodation. There is instead a shared bathroom on each floor servicing 5 bedrooms and potentially 10 guests each which we were not expecting, you get private facilities at Travel Lodge or equivalent...

The hotel staff was not friendly at all. They made us feel unwelcome and that any small request, like calling a taxi, was a major inconvenience. The rooms were decently spacious, but the chair in our room was broken and the beds dipped in strange places. There are plenty of other hotels and bed and breakfast for similar prices, I wish we would have chose one of those. The rooms really are not bad, but feeling unwelcome in your hotel is not a way I like to spend my vacation.

Nice breakfast, clean rooms, and close enough to the city centre. The front desk staff weren’t there when I first arrived so I ended up going for a walk about the neighbourhood while I waited. Expedia indicated that I would receive early check-in at 12pm but the rooms were not ready and the staff seemed unaware of the early check-in. All in all a reasonably good place for a reasonable price.

I stayed one night in the bed and breakfast hotel and it was very pleasant. All the shower and toilet rooms were shared but there were plenty and very clean. There was plenty of shower cream aswell and nice a warm.

The bedroom was big enough and clean, there was tea/coffee facilities in the room and a sink to brush teeth etc. So even though I didn't have a shower in the room I still had facilities so that I could brush my teeth before going to bed and didn't need to go out of the room.

The breakfast was continental due to fact that staff couldn't get to work due to the weather but the staff made sure there was enough of everything. The dining room was pleasant and there was no rush.

After struggling up very steep stairs...they couldn't find our booking...we were early but it was on our booking we could come two hours early, they said we can give you one room downstairs then move you upstairs tomorrow....it was resolved and they gave us a lovely spacious room on ground floor . Beds were clean and comfy toilet small but clean apart from some cobwebs same in bedroom..... Breakfast was pleasing apart from link sausage was like rubber potato scone was delicious...Elizabeth the cook for thirty years took time to find out what make they were for us.... Thee place smelt fresh for an old building......its in quite a damp dank rundown looking area.....but stands out from the crowd...we are ambulant disabled and it was too much climbing and walking for us ....otherwise we would use the place again the manager knew I had done a pre review about certain things but didn't access them with me when we were leaving sadly ...also we asked for our complimentary water which supposed to be in room and were offered tap water....that's what they drink....there were no shops opened nearby to even buy some.....and even so as there aren't any buses go by we were exhausted after walking the full length of sauchiehall street to get there...we were offered some apple or orange juice as an alternative but declined.....found out when we were leaving they did indeed have bottled water just not for us!!!!my friend leaned on the gate at bottom of stairs as we were leaving and nearly fel

Very good location walking distance to train stations and university. Pleasant staff and outstanding breakfast is included. Staff are pleasant and very accommodating. Best of all is the price - very reasonable. Shopping district is close by with plenary of good food locations including restaurants and grocery stores. All areas of hotel are kept clean including, very importantly, shared bathrooms. I did not experience a single time when bathroom was unavailable even with hotel co.pletely booked. Easy to find and well marked.

Arrived at the hotel an hour an a bit early, rooms weren't clean yet so we couldn't check in, but a nice staff member let us leave our luggage with him. When given the key to our room we were expecting an ensuite room, as this is what we booked and it clearly says so on our booking itinerary on expedia, but we just had a room with a bed and had to use the shared toilet down the hall. This was so frustrating and disappointing as I booked the ensuite so I wouldn't have to toilet and shower share. When my boyfriend went to speak to a member of staff about this, the woman was rude and snappy. She offered no help what so ever even after my boyfriend showing her our booking confirmation which states we had an ensuite. She said if we wanted an ensuite it would be an extra £60. She was inattentive and uninterested, almost hurrying him away because she couldn't be bothered. The room was basic, had a tv which was nice, the bed wasn't too comfy. Breakfast in the hotel was a morning perk. One night we had to ring the doorbell several times to get let in ten minutes later, the man didn't even say anything.

The hotel was ok and it was very reasonable. Day staff were lovely. Evening staff not very sure of parking facilities. I had a nightmare parking in this area, I was advised that it would be ok to park on the street with a voucher from the hotel. Couldn't get parking near the guest house, or anywhere in the street. After driving around for quite a while I found parking but it was no where near the guesthouse and I felt uneasy leaving the car in this area. Not a very nice area, smashed glass everywhere, Quite a shady part of the city. The photo did not represent the guest house at all. It's fine if you are on a budget and don't bring a car.

Nice & Friendly

Nice & quiet for a nights stop-over. Very comfortable bed. Has everything you need. There is a free breakfast and polite staff.

good location but disappointing guest house.

Booked a double bedroom with en-suit, when checked in found out sharing bathroom which i argued and show them my booking with confirmation, at the end we have en suit room, which was not clean, old bedding with hair found out. room bins was full of rubbish. room was very small not even one chair, heating was not working as well. both night and day reception staff were helpful.we did not have their breakfast as it was close 9am and we were there 8.55am, kitchen lady was rude and offered us what ever cold breakfast was left.i would not recommend this place for anyone.

General aopearance outside was untidy. Outdated accomodation. Our room smelled of damp. Quite thin walls and could hear other guests voices. Breakfast was good.

Nice stay

Really nice stay here. Room was everything you need for a couple of nights. The made to order breakfast was a real winner. Young guy on reception was also really nice. I wouldn't say there was ample parking right outside the property because it was an extremely busy street, we ended up getting a park about 250 meters away which was fine. Really close location for suchiehall and Buchanan street.
