I understand the importance of safety policies, such as concerns about leaving an umbrella open on the balcony. However, staff should inform guests about such matters before handing over registration documents or room keys. Unfortunately, I was not notified, and instead, someone entered my room without telling me it was not ready.
This experience left me feeling unsafe and unable to trust the service. While I hope this was only my personal experience and not how other guests are treated, it was very disappointing. For this reason, I will not be recommending this hotel to my friends or family.

This location had an incredible view of the water, sunset, and town. The room I had came with a private hot tub, although the water was like warm it was pleasant to watch the sunset or relax in the evening. There is a lively pool and poolside bar/lounges. Finding the hotel and accessing it is difficult as it requires walking through the town (walking paths only) and moving up and down winding stairs.

The property is wonderful. We got in early and they were helpful carrying our luggages to our room. Quite far from the closest drop off site. So nice to not have to lug it through the busy streets. Breakfast was great. Hot tub in room also just right. Everything was so organized and everyone was also so nice.

The views from the Villa are incredible. The pick up service and porters to bring your luggage down are a must if you stay here. If you have any physical limitations, find someplace else to stay. If you are in good health, definitely stay here. The service is excellent. There is nothing that you could need that they couldn’t help you with.(other than flush toilets.)🙂The views are incredible and the room was very comfortable and spacious. It made for the trip of a lifetime.

NOT A GREAT TIME...
Too busy. Too many stairs. The staff late at night is not knowledgeable. This hotel is only good if you are an influencer looking to make cash. We left early despite them refusing to refund us. We lost over $1000 but it was worth it to leave. They are not a vacation spot. They are a vapid place for photos. Additionally, in some reviews people mention credit card fraud. They replied that they put in procedures to stop it, but they literally had me hand write my number in a sheet of paper. No clue where that paper went. No assurances. Nothing posted about Visa / MC requirements. Our vacation got way better when we left. We got a VRBO near Akrotiri with nearly the same beautiful views.....

Oiamare Villas was a lovely hotel. One thing l did not enjoy was seeing a local resident’s property amidst our room that was unkempt. The place was dirty and the person living there was walking around in his undergarments when we passed by., i asked to be moved and was offered a room of “lesser” value, not an upgrade. For a hotel of this stature l was disappointed. I asked again the next day and never heard back from them.

The room was amazing with an incredible view. The staff is extremely helpful and they can arrange bookings to sought after restaurants with ease. The only difficulty is getting to the centre road of oia which is just a 3 minute walk but in a steep incline. By the end of our 5 day stay we actually felt that we are becoming more fit. The hotel provides porters to get your luggage in and out of the facilities (which is an extremely difficult physical task so I would recommend tipping them fairly). The included breakfast is very tasty and includes homemade greek foods! We will definitely come back to Oia and definitely choose Oia Mare Villas again!

Everything was fantastic other than our actual room. It did not have the Seaview that we had paid for other than that. The property is beautiful and in a good location to see the sunset and a lot less for traffic, which makes it more peaceful.

Oia Mare truly exceeded our expectations. The most perfect spot to watch the sunset and away from the crowds. Private balconies, the pool and rooftop made our stay extra special. The staff couldn’t do more to help you. Carrying luggage up and down stairs in Oia and providing a lovely breakfast each morning. George was fantastic and always on hand to help. We will be back!

We had a quick check in. They arranged our transportation to amd vtom the villa. Snd the porter was strong enough to carry our luggages with all the steps he was a big help. Nice and pleasant staffs, Clean and spacious cave room with jetted tub. The pool was big enough for us, with a partially covered area that protect us from the heat of the sun. Great view of the caldera. We enjoyed watching the sunset from the hotel’s rooftop. Breakfast was delicious. The villa was walkable to the places we want to go. Quiet and safe place to stay in. Kastro Restaurant is just a few meters away, and Ammoudi restaurants is near. The view from Oia Villa Mare Villa is spectacular. We hang out by the pool everyday enjoying the view of the caldera. We would definitely stay here again.

Our stay was amazing - the hotel staff were lovely particularly George on the bar ;) who was very attentive and immediately got familiar with our requirements.
We very soon got used to the steps which is essential for getting around.

Loved staying at Oia Mare Villas, the villa itself was clean, spacious and just perfect for my daughter and I. The stunning views were the absolute best thing. The staff, especially George and Ali were extremely helpful and friendly. George makes the most amazing Peach Ice Tea and Ali the porter was very kind in his demanour and climbing up and down all those steps is no mean feat but to do it with luggage is just unbelievable. The steps are the one thing we did not like as much, however the views from atop are so worth it! I would stay there again... even with the steps!

The property itself is beautiful and very clean. The pool was very refreshing after a long day of sightseeing in the Greek heat. If you have mobility problems or are severely short of breath after the slightest physical activity…this property might not be a right choice for you because it is located on the hillside with many steps.

My advice is if you have more luggage than you need for this stay to pack what you need in a smaller bag. Many, many steps to climb, but this is true of any cliff side hotel.

We stayed at Oia Mare Villas for three nights and it was overall an incredible stay. I recommend requesting for a porter to meet you at Oia Post office as it might be hard to find it though. Staff really took care of us and made sure we were comfortable. They assisted with restaurant bookings, and even had a porter help us with our bags up the flights of stairs at 5am! Buffet breakfast was lovely, hotel kindly prepared a small portion for us the night before as we had an early flight. There was a bit of a water shortage but I think it might have been an island wide issue. Thank you once again for a wonderful time - I’ll be thinking about this stay for a long time!

Room is spacious, but the floor in the bathroom is very slippery, we both slipped multiple times. We don’t like the very old way to open and lock the door. It’s kinda inconvenient.
Hotel’s lobby is located close to the bottom of the hotel, not easy to find it when first time visit. We used the shared airport shuttle hotel offered, we paid €55 for two people. Shuttle stopped at post office. A porter carried luggages to hotel for us. We followed him walking a long way to hotel. Hotel is built along the hill, the view is stunning; Good spot for sunset this season.
There’s one thing I’m not happy with. I booked a sea view suite for three nights, but I got a partial sea view room as the first picture I uploaded shows. I asked to change rooms, the front desk told me he couldn’t change it for me. I needed to send a request to the reservation department myself.
At check-in, I paid local tax with my credit card, they still required to write down all my credit card information on paper.

Kind and friendly staff who went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional. They booked dinner reservations, helped with ATV rental and checked in often to make sure we were comfortable. We were able to communicate with them via WhatsApp for anything we needed while out during the day as well. Housekeeping was great also, room was left spotless each day with fresh towels.

Oia Mares Villas is surrounded by beautiful breathtaking views of the Aegean Sea. No matter where you will stay, you will have a great view. However I will say my first day, my room smelled of cat litter. Cats are everywhere in Oia and all the staff assured me they do not go inside, the smell was definitely of cats. They definitely need to do some updates too. Their restrooms. For such a beautiful surrounding the inside of the rooms definitely needs some renovations. However i will add that the service desk handled the issue very promptly and immediately went back to service my room and take the smell out. It was definitely a huge improvement when I went back in. I am also a gold member with expedia and shed have been presented with v.I p upgrades or services. Nothing was presented to me.
We enjoyed our stay either way, because as I mentioned, the surrounding area is absolutely beautiful. And the staff was also very pleasant.
But given my first experience, i wouldn't rebook if I go back to Oia.

We booked the honeymoon suite (cave) with jacuzzi which was a fantastic room, excellent size in comparison to others at the property, however strangely did not have a sunset view or balcony in the sun.

Naturally, the location is very hilly with lots of Cobbold steps, but the property is located on the cliff and centrally to everything you would want to see in Oia. It I also as lovely views of the sea and its own balcony for guests for the fantastic sunset views.

The location in Oia is amazing. The hotel views of the sunset were great and the location was convenient to all the shopping. The hotel staff were kind and helpful throughout. Having a porter to carry luggage was a great perk of staying at this hotel. There are a lot of steps to get to and from the hotel. Be prepared for the steps if choosing this hotel.

Oia Villa Mare has a great location with fabulous views. It’s one of those “cave hotels” with rounded white walls. The rooms have a lot of natural light and are great to spend time in when you are not exploring. The staff is very helpful.

Lovely hotel. My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon and stayed in a honeymoon suite. It was the highlight of our entire honeymoon. The place can be hard to find when you’re first coming in to Oia, so we definitely recommend doing the ferry or airport transfer the hotel offers which includes staff that carry your bags and guide you to the hotel. There is a rooftop that’s perfect for watching the sunset. No need to reserve a sunset watching spot 1-2 hours early like everyone else in Oia. Even though Oia is very crowded, Oia mare villas feels pretty quiet and very safe as you have to navigate down multiple stairways to get to it from the main shops and restaurants areas of Oia.

This property is not what I was expecting. Once you get your ride from the port / airport, you get dropped off at the post office and walk from there. You walk through the caldera going up and down narrow lane ways and steep stairs. The experience is definitely authentic! It was the most unique place I’ve ever stayed at. Views are incredible. Staff is great and very helpful. Very expensive (as expected for the area) but the drinks and food are actually cheaper if you stay at the hotel bar/restaurant.

This lovely hotel is in a convenient location approx 10 mins walk away from Oia town centre. There is also a small mini market 5 mins walk away. Lots of steep steps around this hotel in order to go into town centre. We used the porter service the hotel kindly provided to help carry our suitcases during check in & check out. This service is really useful otherwise it would have been difficult to find this hotel on our own. Breakfast is lovely, good variety of options for vegetarians as well. Pool was nice, it is not heated so would recommend choosing one of their rooms with hot tub. Overall this place is kept very clean and the staff are kind and helpful.

Customer service was inadequate. There was no help with luggage during check in or out. We were assured there would be someone to help with out luggage during our check out due to mobility issues and limited physical capability. We waited until 3:50am and our ride to the airport was supposed to pick us at 4am. The front desk staff did not understand us, we tried to clarify that we needed help with our luggage multiple times and the receptionist assured us someone would be there to help us carry our bags but no one showed up at the time we requested there was a very big communication barrier. We will not be staying here in the future.

Only after a few hours after checking into the hotel and having our credit card scanned our card was compromised. Even though we had our room paid in full before arrival, they took copies of our passports and credit card. After speaking to the front desk about it, we were told it's not there problem. We explained that the card was ONLY used at their hotel. Again...not there problem. At breakfast the next morning we found 4 more people with the same issue. Again the hotel said it's not our problem.
Luckily our credit card company caught it, but it created a huge problem for the remainer of our holiday.

The reviews for this property were very mixed so I wasn't sure what to expect -- but Oia Mare Villas was perfection! The room was spacious and clean, with a beautiful ocean view and private outdoor jacuzzi. The hotel staff were helpful and informative, helping coordinate transfers from the airport and to the port as well as provide and arrange excursions for us. The steps up and down Oia to the property are not for those who are not steady on 2 foot unassisted. My mom (in her 60s) has a bad knee and had trouble with them. We just took our time. The hotel staff will meet you at the top of town to take your bags down for you. Make sure to tip them well! It was very busy in Oia starting around 10am, but that was expected. We enjoyed the sunset from the hotel property two of the three nights we were there, and the crowds that gather at the top of Oia are many. It's quite the experience. I can't wait to return!

I am not sure where should I start with this property. This is the only property where we had the worst experience and also this was the one of the expensive properties we booked it for our trip.
Let’s start with the good things

1. Room reservation is a full scam and they will show you 56 photos for the room type and they will try to give the worst room you can imagine. The reservation manager who looks after the reservations is so rude and has zero etiquette to speak to the customer. My suggestion is to not to expect the room you looked in the pictures as it all depends on the reservation manager’s mood to allocate the room. We had a lot of arguments on the room with the reservation team and Expedia and finally we got the expected room the next day

The suite itself is really beautiful. There were 4 of us and our teenage daughter was thrilled to have her own suite upstairs. It was an interesting layout, the upstairs suite is actually a separate outside entrance. Felt like we got a good taste of Oia by staying here. It’s not private at all. We never even used the hot tub because there’s always tons of people standing right there and restaurants overlooking, etc, I even felt weird walking upstairs outside in my pajamas to check on my daughter in her suite with so many people watching me. Also, it says you have access to hotel facilities, but it’s pretty far and strenuous to get there-you can’t just pop over. We tried to watch the sunset there one night (after a very crowded, and hot walk to get there, and lots of trouble finding it. It was small and we left early—just one other couple there and just wasn’t very comfortable—nowhere to sit, Overall, suite itself very nice, and a lot of the issues are just what it’s like to stay in Oia—crowded, strenuous walks, etc.

My fiancé and I stayed in the honeymoon suite w/ private hot tub for 3 nights and couldn’t have been happier with our stay. The room was gorgeous, clean, and had all of the amenities we needed. The view from the patio is absolutely stunning. The pictures don’t do it justice. There isn't a direct view of the sunset from the patio, but you can walk up to a communal patio near the suite with a full view.
As others have mentioned, it would be difficult to find the hotel on your own so I recommend booking one of their drivers to pick you up from the airport. This is not unique to this hotel though. Any hotel in Santorini that is not along the top of the cliffs will be difficult to find and require walking down steep, narrow stairs so plan accordingly.

Hotel room is spacious with beautiful caldera & sunset view on rooftop. it is many strenuous steps up to the main street, so if you are not into climbing, this is not the place for you. Staff is friendly and helpful. Though I have to complain that for 600 Euro per night, bottled water is only complimentary for 1st night and breakfast is mediocre to say the best.

Absolutely wonderful! Just breathtaking. Of note it is toward the bottom of a lot of slippery stairs, so if you have issues with stairs I do not recommend. Hotel helps bring bags up and down these stairs. Breakfast was wonderful. Front desk staff were wonderful, very helpful and accommodating.

My husband and I stayed here as part of our honeymoon trip! We absolutely loved our stay! The staff were incredibly kind and were happy to recommend and make dinner reservations for us every night! All the restaurants they recommended were great. We took the hotel shuttle from the airport. This process was smooth and they even had someone carry our luggage through the many steps and hills in Oia. You really can’t beat the views from this hotel! Many people gather in Oia for the sunset. You can easily watch this from your room, or if your room doesn’t have the best view for sunset, you can access the hotel’s private rooftop! We loved enjoying a glass of wine and watching the sunset away from the crowds! I would highly recommend this hotel for a honeymoon, couples trip, or trip with a few friends!

Oia Mare was absolutely BEAUTIFUL!! The staff was beyond accommodating and figured multiple situations out for us , including booking reservations. The room was beyond perfect, so spacious & cleaned whenever we left for the day. Shops, resturants, markets all so close within walking distance.
We had THE BEST view of the sunset at these villas. Everybody in town came to this side of the island to see the view we had from our front porch. It was incredible and I can’t recommend Oia Mare enough!!! 11/10 !!!

First, the transfer to and from the airport was supposed to be complimentary according to their website, but we were charged 45 euros each way. Still a good deal and much cheaper than a taxi so not a major complaint but it was kind of annoying after booking such an expensive hotel.
My other complaint is they do not enforce the no kids under 12 during high season rule. There were children splashing and yelling in the pool 3 out of 4 times we went down there, which was pretty rude. We were on our honeymoon and I was pleased to hear about the rule when I booked the hotel, so I was rather disappointed that they not only didn’t enforce it, but didn’t even say anything when the kids (and their parents) were clearly being loud and rowdy when everyone else was trying to relax and enjoy. If that’s something important to your vacation, I’d say book somewhere else or call them to confirm they’re still enforcing that rule.

Only suggestion could be that the breakfast service should open earlier since outdoor activities make necessary to leave hotel early, so the breakfast cannot be taken even if paid, so in that case, it should be better not to pay for it in advance and just pay it in case you really take it.
