Our room was very clean, and the bed and furniture were very comfortable. The AC cooled the room nicely, but will not work when you are out of the room, because you have to pull your key card to lock the room behind you. This is pretty common in Europe. The staff was very polite and accommodating. We enjoyed the pool and our hot tub, and the water temperatures were good. Breakfast had many options, with fresh, hot items and also cold meat and cheeses and fresh fruit. Coffee was good as well as the fresh yogurt. Warning that everywhere in Oia there are steps, so to get to and from your hotel and around the shops and restaurants, there is a lot of walking and steps, so if you have difficulty walking or with steps, this area is not a good destination for you. But the hotel did send someone to bring our luggage to and from the room, which was definitely needed! Make sure to bring cash for tipping, because it’s really physically taxing to bring suitcases on the rolling handcart through all the steps. The view from the hotel is AMAZING! My wife and I really enjoyed staying here. The experience is unforgettable. I do highly recommend this hotel, I can think of nothing negative about staying here. One nice, unexpected thing they did was, since we had a checkout early in the morning, the evening before they brought a tray with fruit, instant coffee and other food, since we would miss breakfast. That was a nice touch! Definitely get Greek yogurt, honey and walnuts every breakfast!

Our favourite hotel stay of our trip. Very comfy bed and amazing shower. We especially loved the Greek breakfast buffet every morning. The staff were so friendly and approachable, always happy to help. Pool was super refreshing and had the most comfortable lounge chairs. Amazing view of the sunset!! Price is worth that alone I’d imagine. Be prepared to climb some stairs. Only negative was the check-in process as it took us well over an hour to get into our room.

Rooms clean and staff friendly. However I think well worth noting that this hotel is FAR down the caldera. MANY steps to get up and down and let me tell you this would deter me from staying here again. Yes they help with luggage but the up and down on the steep steps was definitely a challenge. It’s half way down to ammoudi bay which is nice but if mobility is an issue this is not the place for you. Otherwise overall a great experience.

The Volcano view suite was amazing. It was right near the Main Street and easy access to shopping and restaurants. The staff (porter, driver, reception) were exceptional. The room comes with a hot tub that has views of the volcano. The breakfast is down at the main hotel which requires a 10-15 minute walk. The walk there is downhill but uphill on the way back to your room.

This place was an absolute dream! We stayed in the volcano view suite which had an additional room above the main villa. It was right in the middle of the hustle and bustle under the main pedestrian walkway. Sitting the the hot tub felt a bit like being in a fishbowl but I actually loved being right in the middle of it all (you can also draw curtains for some privacy). I am dreaming of coming here again! The staff was so helpful, just a WhatsApp text away! And it was actually really fun to walk to the main property each morning for breakfast while the streets were empty and quiet.

This has been such an amazing experience staying at Oia Mare Villas. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful, and the views are truly magnificent , honestly some of the best views in Oia. The staff was incredible throughout our stay, super helpful, accommodating, and always willing to assist with anything we needed.

I highly recommend booking their transportation option. Someone greets you upon arrival and helps carry your luggage all the way to your room, which makes a huge difference considering all the stairs and steps around Oia.

The breakfast every morning was always fresh and delicious, and the staff even helped us book dinner reservations at some of the top restaurants in Oia, which made everything so much easier and stress free.

Overall, this was a wonderful experience and I would absolutely come back. My only complaint is that I didn’t stay longer!

Absolutely loved our stay. The view was amazing and the location was perfect — walking distance to everything. The villa was clean, the staff was super friendly and helpful, and they made the whole experience smooth from start to finish.

One huge win for us was the gentleman who helped carry our luggage up and down those steep Santorini stairs. We had FOUR 50lb suitcases plus carry-ons, and honestly, I don’t know how we would’ve done it without him. Make sure to bring some cash to take care of him — he deserves it.

Overall, a 5-star experience for us and we would definitely stay again.

I cannot fault the location at all. The area and the views from this hotel are stunning. My experience for this stay was very bad none the less. Here is a list of the problems I encountered in something like order of how concerning they were.

Minor annoyances:
-I am 6'2" and ~170lbs. The doors throughout the hotel are too short for me to walk through upright. This wouldn't have been as much of a problem if the door to our suite (102) would have been wide enough to walk through without turning sideways. They were double doors with only one of them having a knob. You can open the second only after you open the first and reach through to unlatch it from the inside.

-The hot water lasted less than a minute in the shower. Our stay was during off-peak season so I am unsure if all the suites were even full and we could not get enough hot water to finish a single fast shower.

I understand the importance of safety policies, such as concerns about leaving an umbrella open on the balcony. However, staff should inform guests about such matters before handing over registration documents or room keys. Unfortunately, I was not notified, and instead, someone entered my room without telling me it was not ready.

This experience left me feeling unsafe and unable to trust the service. While I hope this was only my personal experience and not how other guests are treated, it was very disappointing. For this reason, I will not be recommending this hotel to my friends or family.

This location had an incredible view of the water, sunset, and town. The room I had came with a private hot tub, although the water was like warm it was pleasant to watch the sunset or relax in the evening. There is a lively pool and poolside bar/lounges. Finding the hotel and accessing it is difficult as it requires walking through the town (walking paths only) and moving up and down winding stairs.

The free breakfast was great. The staff was incredible and the cleaning service amazing.

The views from the Villa are incredible. The pick up service and porters to bring your luggage down are a must if you stay here. If you have any physical limitations, find someplace else to stay. If you are in good health, definitely stay here. The service is excellent. There is nothing that you could need that they couldn’t help you with.(other than flush toilets.)🙂The views are incredible and the room was very comfortable and spacious. Too busy. Too many stairs. The staff late at night is not knowledgeable. This hotel is only good if you are an influencer looking to make cash. We left early despite them refusing to refund us. We lost over $1000 but it was worth it to leave. They are not a vacation spot. They are a vapid place for photos. Additionally, in some reviews people mention credit card fraud. They replied that they put in procedures to stop it, but they literally had me hand write my number in a sheet of paper. No clue where that paper went. No assurances. Nothing posted about Visa / MC requirements. Our vacation got way better when we left. We got a VRBO near Akrotiri with nearly the same beautiful views.....

Oiamare Villas was a lovely hotel. One thing l did not enjoy was seeing a local resident’s property amidst our room that was unkempt. The place was dirty and the person living there was walking around in his undergarments when we passed by., i asked to be moved and was offered a room of “lesser” value, not an upgrade. For a hotel of this stature l was disappointed. I asked again the next day and never heard back from them.

The room was amazing with an incredible view. The staff is extremely helpful and they can arrange bookings to sought after restaurants with ease. The only difficulty is getting to the centre road of oia which is just a 3 minute walk but in a steep incline. By the end of our 5 day stay we actually felt that we are becoming more fit. The hotel provides porters to get your luggage in and out of the facilities (which is an extremely difficult physical task so I would recommend tipping them fairly). The included breakfast is very tasty and includes homemade greek foods! We will definitely come back to Oia and definitely choose Oia Mare Villas again!

We had a quick check in. They arranged our transportation to amd vtom the villa. Snd the porter was strong enough to carry our luggages with all the steps he was a big help. Nice and pleasant staffs, Clean and spacious cave room with jetted tub. The pool was big enough for us, with a partially covered area that protect us from the heat of the sun. Great view of the caldera. We enjoyed watching the sunset from the hotel’s rooftop. Breakfast was delicious. The villa was walkable to the places we want to go. Quiet and safe place to stay in. Kastro Restaurant is just a few meters away, and Ammoudi restaurants is near. The view from Oia Villa Mare Villa is spectacular. We hang out by the pool everyday enjoying the view of the caldera. We would definitely stay here again.

Loved staying at Oia Mare Villas, the villa itself was clean, spacious and just perfect for my daughter and I. The stunning views were the absolute best thing. The staff, especially George and Ali were extremely helpful and friendly. George makes the most amazing Peach Ice Tea and Ali the porter was very kind in his demanour and climbing up and down all those steps is no mean feat but to do it with luggage is just unbelievable. The steps are the one thing we did not like as much, however the views from atop are so worth it! I would stay there again... even with the steps!

Water went out completely 2 of the 6 days (no way to even take a shower or flush) I do believe this was because of the storm that hit on 24 May 2025
Lots of steps to get to and from the hotel (140ish) mainly down steps getting to the hotel, majority up steep steps leaving the hotel and heading into Oia.
You get 2 bottles of water upon arriving but everything else must be purchased even though you cannot drink the water from the tap.

I know it sounds like a lot of negatives but the hotel and staff really are fantastic. I also understand the importance of an honest review.

We stayed at Oia Mare Villas for three nights and it was overall an incredible stay. I recommend requesting for a porter to meet you at Oia Post office as it might be hard to find it though. Staff really took care of us and made sure we were comfortable. They assisted with restaurant bookings, and even had a porter help us with our bags up the flights of stairs at 5am! Buffet breakfast was lovely, hotel kindly prepared a small portion for us the night before as we had an early flight. There was a bit of a water shortage but I think it might have been an island wide issue. Thank you once again for a wonderful time - I’ll be thinking about this stay for a long time!

Overall this hotel is very beautiful, staff are friendly, breakfast is very good.

Room is spacious, but the floor in the bathroom is very slippery, we both slipped multiple times. We don’t like the very old way to open and lock the door. It’s kinda inconvenient.

Hotel’s lobby is located close to the bottom of the hotel, not easy to find it when first time visit. We used the shared airport shuttle hotel offered, we paid €55 for two people. Shuttle stopped at post office. A porter carried luggages to hotel for us. We followed him walking a long way to hotel. Hotel is built along the hill, the view is stunning; Good spot for sunset this season.

There’s one thing I’m not happy with. I booked a sea view suite for three nights, but I got a partial sea view room as the first picture I uploaded shows. I asked to change rooms, the front desk told me he couldn’t change it for me. I needed to send a request to the reservation department myself.

At check-in, I paid local tax with my credit card, they still required to write down all my credit card information on paper.

Kind and friendly staff who went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional. They booked dinner reservations, helped with ATV rental and checked in often to make sure we were comfortable. We were able to communicate with them via WhatsApp for anything we needed while out during the day as well. Housekeeping was great also, room was left spotless each day with fresh towels.
Highly recommend this hotel even for the price. We stayed in the suite with the outdoor hot tub included - very nice feature to have at night with some wine (we visited in low-mid season - middle of May).
If it will be your first time in Oia, be prepared for the stairs - lots of cardio but totally worth it when you see the views of the sunset.
Oia Mare Villas has a great private rooftop with a perfect sunset view, a little small but we enjoyed it up there with a few other couples. Amazing experience!

Oia Mares Villas is surrounded by beautiful breathtaking views of the Aegean Sea. No matter where you will stay, you will have a great view. However I will say my first day, my room smelled of cat litter. Cats are everywhere in Oia and all the staff assured me they do not go inside, the smell was definitely of cats. They definitely need to do some updates too. Their restrooms. For such a beautiful surrounding the inside of the rooms definitely needs some renovations. However i will add that the service desk handled the issue very promptly and immediately went back to service my room and take the smell out. It was definitely a huge improvement when I went back in. I am also a gold member with expedia and shed have been presented with v.I p upgrades or services. Nothing was presented to me.
We enjoyed our stay either way, because as I mentioned, the surrounding area is absolutely beautiful. And the staff was also very pleasant.
But given my first experience, i wouldn't rebook if I go back to Oia.

We booked the honeymoon suite (cave) with jacuzzi which was a fantastic room, excellent size in comparison to others at the property, however strangely did not have a sunset view or balcony in the sun.

The staff at the property were extremely helpful and friendly, and it was exceptionally clean and well kept.

Naturally, the location is very hilly with lots of Cobbold steps, but the property is located on the cliff and centrally to everything you would want to see in Oia. It I also as lovely views of the sea and its own balcony for guests for the fantastic sunset views.

We found the food at the property was excellent quality, but very limited as it is only small.

During our stay, the weather was fantastic and the hotel is a perfect place to relax around the pool as well as explore. The sun lounges are extremely comfortable and it certainly wasn’t busy during our day as most people go out exploring at different times of the day.

Great views and ambience

Oia Villa Mare has a great location with fabulous views. It’s one of those “cave hotels” with rounded white walls. The rooms have a lot of natural light and are great to spend time in when you are not exploring. The staff is very helpful.

Lovely hotel. My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon and stayed in a honeymoon suite. It was the highlight of our entire honeymoon. The place can be hard to find when you’re first coming in to Oia, so we definitely recommend doing the ferry or airport transfer the hotel offers which includes staff that carry your bags and guide you to the hotel. There is a rooftop that’s perfect for watching the sunset. No need to reserve a sunset watching spot 1-2 hours early like everyone else in Oia. Even though Oia is very crowded, Oia mare villas feels pretty quiet and very safe as you have to navigate down multiple stairways to get to it from the main shops and restaurants areas of Oia.

Oia Maria is located in the heart of Oia with some great view of the sea, harbor and sunset. Staying in Oia Maria you get the feel of classical Santorini cliff side living. Be prepared for a lot of climbing up and down and very fulfilling. The sunset view was excellent from the resort

This property is not what I was expecting. Once you get your ride from the port / airport, you get dropped off at the post office and walk from there. You walk through the caldera going up and down narrow lane ways and steep stairs. The experience is definitely authentic! It was the most unique place I’ve ever stayed at. Views are incredible. Staff is great and very helpful. Very expensive (as expected for the area) but the drinks and food are actually cheaper if you stay at the hotel bar/restaurant.

We would come back if we ever come to Santorini again!

This lovely hotel is in a convenient location approx 10 mins walk away from Oia town centre. There is also a small mini market 5 mins walk away. Lots of steep steps around this hotel in order to go into town centre. We used the porter service the hotel kindly provided to help carry our suitcases during check in & check out. This service is really useful otherwise it would have been difficult to find this hotel on our own. Breakfast is lovely, good variety of options for vegetarians as well. Pool was nice, it is not heated so would recommend choosing one of their rooms with hot tub. Overall this place is kept very clean and the staff are kind and helpful.

Customer service was inadequate. There was no help with luggage during check in or out. We were assured there would be someone to help with out luggage during our check out due to mobility issues and limited physical capability. We waited until 3:50am and our ride to the airport was supposed to pick us at 4am. The front desk staff did not understand us, we tried to clarify that we needed help with our luggage multiple times and the receptionist assured us someone would be there to help us carry our bags but no one showed up at the time we requested there was a very big communication barrier. We will not be staying here in the future.

Credit Card Fraud

Only after a few hours after checking into the hotel and having our credit card scanned our card was compromised. Even though we had our room paid in full before arrival, they took copies of our passports and credit card. After speaking to the front desk about it, we were told it's not there problem. We explained that the card was ONLY used at their hotel. Again...not there problem. At breakfast the next morning we found 4 more people with the same issue. Again the hotel said it's not our problem.
Luckily our credit card company caught it, but it created a huge problem for the remainer of our holiday.

The reviews for this property were very mixed so I wasn't sure what to expect -- but Oia Mare Villas was perfection! The room was spacious and clean, with a beautiful ocean view and private outdoor jacuzzi. The hotel staff were helpful and informative, helping coordinate transfers from the airport and to the port as well as provide and arrange excursions for us. The steps up and down Oia to the property are not for those who are not steady on 2 foot unassisted. My mom (in her 60s) has a bad knee and had trouble with them. We just took our time. The hotel staff will meet you at the top of town to take your bags down for you. Make sure to tip them well! It was very busy in Oia starting around 10am, but that was expected. We enjoyed the sunset from the hotel property two of the three nights we were there, and the crowds that gather at the top of Oia are many. It's quite the experience. I can't wait to return!

This property IS AMAZING!! It had a lot of stairs and was tiring at times, but so worth it! Our room was perfect - we enjoyed the private space to watch the sunset. The view was STUNNING!! So beautiful! The front desk gentleman (first initial A) was so sweet! Super friendly and helpful. The porter(s) were
A hose d! We had a gentleman the first day who was fantastic and then on our last day we had the same man and another man who might have been the groundskeeper of the hotel (we saw him do everything on the property - watering plants, sweeping, cleaning the pool - even helping us find our room the first day!) also helped. He carried our luggage UP all of the stairs. These were heavy! I was so impressed and so grateful for their help. This place was wonderful - totally recommend it! I hope to stay at Oia Mare Villas again. Just a lovely place with such wonderful hotel staff!
