The public areas of the hotel are beautiful. Crystal chandeliers, marble floors, gorgeous artwork. My family reserved two rooms, but they were starkly different from one another. One seemed old and dated while the other was modern. It was like one of the rooms hasn't been renovated yet. That's the reason behind my 4 star rating. The breakfast buffet was wonderful and had a good selection. The staff was kind and helpful. Location was great, near the Underground and tram stops. Overall, it was a good value! I would stay here again.

We stayed for two nights and the hotel is in a great location, within walking distance of Kärntner Straße, in a very safe and secure area. Breakfast was excellent, and the restaurant offers a good variety of food if you prefer not to go out to eat.
The rooms are very clean—ours was a bit small, but we had a balcony with a nice view, which made up for it. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We really loved our stay and would definitely recommend this hotel.

Everything about my stay at the Hotel Erzherzog was wonderful! The room was a good size and very comfortable with excellent hot water and water pressure in the shower. There were, also, heated floors, and a heated towel rack in the bathroom. They don't automatically provide robes and slippers to the room, but they happily had them sent to me in the room when I requested them. Everyone from the front desk to the housekeeping to the restaurant servers were super friendly and helpful! Breakfast was very good with a wide variety of dishes to choose from including non-dairy milk options for the coffee machine, and champagne should you choose. I definitely look forward to returning when I go back to Vienna!

It’s a good hotel overall, with friendly service and a pleasant atmosphere. However, the rooms are surprisingly small. Although the total square meters may look generous on paper, the layout is quite unusual: there is a long, spacious corridor, but almost no room around the bed, which makes the space feel tighter than expected.

Breakfast is abundant but very busy, and the dining area can feel a bit like a cafeteria during peak hours. The location is also a bit far from the city center, so keep that in mind if you prefer to walk everywhere.

Still, the staff are attentive and polite, and the hotel maintains a nice, clean environment. With a few improvements to the room design and breakfast flow, it could be an excellent place to stay.

This is an excellent hotel with knowledgeable, helpful staff who speak very good English, the breakfast is fabulous, and the situation is great for the centre of the city (about a ten-minute walk). The stylish décor gives an added sense of luxury. There is a very good restuarant attached to the hotel. Extremely good value considering the quality of everything. Would definitely return and highly recommend this hotel.

Although we were on the 3rd floor, there was a lot of noises specially early morning. Hotel is a little way from main centre, but easy transport to everywhere once you have mastered the metro, tram and buses.
You can walk to the main sites but need good shoes as lots of cobbled areas.Breakfast plentiful, but a little congestered as buffet is in a small area, not easily navigated as hotel was busy, so lots of guests. Staff at Reception were all very pleasant and accommodating. Beautiful interior, clean and old-fashioned. You could imagine Miss Marple having afternoon tea in the salon.

A/C not working

The air-conditioning was not working. A fan was provided which was adequate because the outside temperature was around 25C. Would not have been pleasant if it was warmer. We were informed that although the controller states air conditioner -it was just an air-cooler. The on-site restaurant was also closed during the period of our stay.

This is a charming, historic hotel in a great location. Breakfast was delicious. Our main complaint was the lack of air conditioning. They said they had air in the room, and we adjusted the thermostat numerous times, but the temperature remained quite warm and room stayed stuffy. I’m glad I had a portable fan with me, which helped a bit.

We loved our 2 day stay here. Easy 15 min walk from the train station and 15 min walk into the centre of Vienna. The front desk staff were incredibly welcoming and kind. Breakfast was excellent and there were plenty of options. Bed was comfortable and the room was clean and plenty big enough- we were out and about most of the day anyways. Felt like a safe and easily walkable area even after the sun had gone down and we had had some wine. Would definitely stay again. Thanks!

This was a very nice stay! My husband and I were very pleased with the nice breakfast, chocolates on the pillows, and their overall service. We had a overnight train, and the hotel held our luggage all day free of charge until our train. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to Vienna!

Lovely hotel with an authentic Austrian vibe and beautiful staff. A very easy 15minute walk into central Vienna made it a perfect location. Room was always cleaned impeccably. Breakfast was also lovely . Small offering of hot food , a great variety of pastries and cakes, plus cheeses, cold meat, yoghurt, cereal and fruit. Wonderful traditional hotel

Lovely traditional hotel ten minute walk to the Opera House and centre. One minute from station. Room very clean and lovely cakes put in the room to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Very helpful staff and great customer service. Great breakfast and their restaurant also gave us some goodies to celebrate birthday and lovely food. Would highly recommend.
