We had a wonderful stay at this property. We only had the breakfast included as we were there for a wedding and were offsite often. The pools, outdoor eating and drinking facilities, pool sunbeds and beach access were great. Breakfast was very good. We participated in some of the activities which were fun. Good location to walk to the harbor sites and restaurants/shopping. We took the bus just outside the hotel to go to tombs of kings, very convenient.

The facilities are just lovely and I really appreciated the wonderful customer service offered by the staff. They were very friendly, helpful and accommodating and I particularly appreciated all the thoughtful gestures shown to make us feel welcome. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will hopefully be back again. :)

Great location with a short walk to the harbour area along a coastal promenade.

The majority of staff were really nice. A big thank you to Nikki in Guest Relations for a warm welcome and friendly conversations during my stay. The breakfast staff were also great and attentive.

The breakfast offering was brilliant and so varied, one of the best I have ever had.

Also, many thanks to the team for making my birthday special, much appreciated! I treated myself to a 7 course meal at the Garibaldi restuarant which was delicious.

I had to knock one star off as the bathroom was outdated and there was low water pressure. Housekeeping could also be improved.

Overall, I had a great stay and would return again.

I spent 3 nights during the Easter holidays and really enjoyed my time. The location is excellent and is one of the closer hotels to the airport while being in the tourist area of the city. The rooms were clean and in good condition. The pools, the gym, the spa, and the restaurants, all were of top quality. They had events happening throughout the day to keep you engaged and entertained. Last but not the least, the staff were the friendliest I have seen in a while. Special mention for the guest relations team (and particularly Marta) for making sure that I am well taken care off.

The staff were very nice throughout the stay. The hotel is old, and the rooms look 30 years old, and not in a very well condition. The food was poor, we ordered the full board, and due to that we ate outside most of the meals. Even the food in the “gourmet” restaurant (which had amazing staff btw) was poor.

This was a one night extension to a two night stay we'd initially booked. Our experience was so good the first night we added a night AND opted for the half board rate.
The hotel itself is very nice, indoor & outdoor pools are great, location is wonderful: quick taxi from the airpot (OR if daytime, just hop the local bus!) GREAT walkway just outside that goes all along the waterfront right into the port area with the archaelogical site & cool cafes, shops.
Breakfast was outstanding. Made to order ocffees, Eggs Benedict, omelettes etc were great, huge buffet choices.
Dinner was the surprise! Held in a lovely restaurant across from where the breakfast buffet is done, it was buffet style but we were really surprised at how good every single dish we tried was - great value.

They do everything right: outstanding choice

Originally booked 2 nights just with breakfast: added a 3rd night half-board for dinner. Everything about this hotel is done right. The staff welcomed us warmly despite a very late night arrival, had us in our room quickly.
While our first the room offered a \"partial sea view\" that wasn't available for our 3rd add-on night, we found both levels of room spacious & comfortable, quiet!
Bathroom, closet, decks all were nice. Excellent bed & bedding for a great sleep.
Breakfast was outstanding. Made-to-order omelettes & eggs benedict, cappuchini or Americanos every morning, with a great buffet of fruits, juices, baked goods, meats, cheeses, etc. Lovely to sit out on the patio near the pools for breakfast - even in mid-December nice temps.
Outstanding staff from check in past midnight to Guest Services to housekeeping to restaurant staff every single person we interacted with was friendly, and helpful.
Glad we opted for dinner the third night: it was excellent. Lots of choice, well prepared in a lovely room!
Also loved that the walk from the hotel to the Castle and the Archaelogical Park was both easy and beautiful.
Finally, having a nicely heated indoor pool, sauna, steam room & gym available in cooler temps was a treat.

Good location overlooking the sea, nice large room although it was on the side of the hotel and overlooked the car park.
Supermarket was opposite hotel as was a reasonably priced car rental shop .
All the staff i met were friendly and polite and the service at breafast was speedy .
I wasn't told about an upgrade though or VIP status .

A very nice hotel with a great location on the beach. A nice size where it’s not too big or too small but with plenty of space. Staff are friendly and service is good. Lots of entertainment and food and drinks are also very good with plenty of choices. Sunbed system is perfect and the pools and beach are also great. Breakfast is a large selection with something for everyone and very tasty. Balcony rooms are very nice with sea views.

Reservation issue on arrival which resulted in being moved from the 3rd floor to a lower noisy corner room on the first floor due to incorrect bed type allocation. Had to find housekeeping to resolve some issues in the room such as cleaning and having no water.

Curtains never fixed, and as such light poured in all night.

Restaurant staff in the morning became rude when they allocated a table I was sat at to another couple, even though my food was sat on the table.

Staff informed me that its best to not to book on Expedia as package holidays take priority on over booking sites. This should not be the case.

As we attended out of season it was much quieter than it would usually be. The children's entertainers still put a huge amount of energy into a disco for only my two children.
All staff were fantastic during our stay, very polite, friendly and attentive.
The food was good. And there was a wide selection even though it was quieter. The breakfast was our favourite.
As a vegetarian I was happy with the variety I had to pick from.

We only stayed one night. A female singer on the Friday night was very good. I accidentally left behind my children's headphones and was able to call and have them put aside to collect the following day.

Excellent value for the money. This is probably one of the best accommodations you will find in Paphos. Rooms are top-tier, clean, and fully equipped (even have European outlets). Good water pressure and extremely hot water in the bathroom. Bathrooms have vents, so no mold issues. Balconies are spacious.
Breakfast selection variety is rich and delicious. Clean and spotless bed sheets and towels. The staff is welcoming and friendly. Plenty of parking space in the private hotel parking.

Staff in all areas of the hotel are lovely & welcoming.
Great location of hotel for catching the local 612 bus to & from the airport...bus stops just outside front of hotel.
I went in December, understandably the pool bar was closed, so it would have been nice to see bar staff every hour or so just circling the pool area taking drink orders. When i was there (as a solo traveller) you had to go to the bar on the floor above to order a drink. No big deal but the pool side service would have been a bonus.

Rooms without view to the ocean are turning to the road or a parking lot.
Adult pool was not clean, the other two were fine.
The bed pool system is not very convenient - poolside beds are reserved for the whole stay.

Breakfast is lacking of salads, the dinner is fair.

Special restaurants are very good (we were at the Italian and Asian restaurants).

Lunch at the pool is at fair prices.

The staff is very nice.

Two points I would bring up:
Water in inside heated pool is jumping from over 31'C to 28'C, which is too much of the difference.
Coffee or tea during the breakfast is served to the table, no possibly to get it yourself. All is ok as long as you stay with ordinary black or tea, but if you would like capuchino or latte, or want to have tea and then coffee and then finally - latte, you will end up waiting very long and most likely get something else but not what you ordered - coffee / tea serving ladies get confused and disoriented.

Superb holiday at Alexander the Great

First time at Alexander The Great and a superb experience. Very attentive staff throughout the hotel who were very friendly and made you feel welcome. Only there for a 4 day break and back yesterday and looking to book a longer stay at the earliest opportunity.

Added bones was that the wife worked a treat and even had excellent coverage on the sunbeds which were across the public walkway at the back of the hotel.

Pros: for the price, this is an excellent hotel - you almost feel like royalty without the added expense
> no charge for WiFi (I really get pissed when a hotel wants you to pay for this)
> location was superb - walking distance to the archeological sites (worth seeing), and the whole harbor stretch of restaurants and cheesy souvenir stores - which is much less annoying than other countries I have been to.
> Breakfast was excellent! Great care for detail, and a relaxing, beautiful view of the waterside and nicely done pools.

Cons: the check in procedure - I had to wait forever, just give me the key and be done with it!

The breakfast was delicious and there was a huge selection. The pools were lovely and the views of the beach and ocean were fabulous. We had a great time and would definitely stay here again.

The rooms are big, the pool area very nice just close to the bar. The indoor pool is not heated enough so did not got in.
Breakfast was great, lot of cheeses, fresh omelette, vegetables.

i would like to rate 7 out of 10 staying in this hotel, it was just above average but could be better, on a delux room there was not enough coffee in the brew station and had to pay extra to use the mini bar which was shocking, of course the view from the room was excellent because its a sea view and cyprus is a beautiful country. The bathroom robe was very old and looked like it was used many times so we didnt even bothered using it. Breakfast was very good but the dinner were average. I do not know if the pool was a heated pool or not but was not heated, i know its off season but could have put some efforts on the pool and bars.For everyone else most of the visitors here were aged 50 plus couples i was bit embarrassed in the dining hall as everyone was staring at me like im a criminal just escaped from the jail, im 36 fit build guy with 2 kids and a wife.

Lovely hotel and staff in a great location

We really enjoyed our stay here. Check-in is 2pm and we arrived at 2pm, our room wasn't ready so Flawia gave us a complimentary lunch which was a lovely gesture. The sunbed booking system works well. All the staff were helpful including David at the pool cafe who worked really hard. The cleaners kept the room in great condition. The pool area is superb, the pool was a little fresh but ideal for cooling off. We stayed bed and breakfast as we like to eat out so we didn't visit any of the onsite restaturants for dinner, but there was always plenty of choice at the Cafe Royal for breakfast. The location is just a short stroll from the harbour, some of the other hotels we considered are quite a walk away so we were definitely very happy with our choice and would stay at the ATG again.

When we arrived, we were welcomed with a cold glass of juice. Got a room on the top floor (3rd floor). As to the location, it is perfect. We got a bus (line 612) from the airport directly to the hotel (cost 1.5 euro). Location is within walking distance to all the restaurants. Breakfast was a very rich one. If we come to Cyprus again, we will go there for sure. 2 bad things we encountered are : we asked to use the minibar for our own personal items. We were told it is 5 euro a day to have the minibar emptied for our personal use. Second thing is, we had a room facing the road, on our last day there municipality workers started to cut down some of the palm trees with an electric saw at about 6 in the morning (it made a lot of noise).

we really enjoyed our stay and the staff were lovely, the front dest didnt know we had children staying with us when we arrived and they had to quickly get a sofa bed made up, we did get charged a tip from the bar when we hadn't ticked the box but the front desk took it of when questioned, the balcony glass didn't look safe when we had a 4 and 6 year old staying with us. there was also a whole above the shower. apart from this staff were really helpful.

Stayed with my family on holiday/business unfortuenatly my little girl was not well but the sofa bed on the first night she was not able to sleep on the next day you changed it, room was not really cleaned very well (room 107) for a 4 star the cleaning could have been better replacing used glasses and shampoo and things in the bathroom, breakfast buffet very good.
I am a regular visitor to Cyprus and this is the first time using your hotel

Dirty worn out carpet in the room and hallways, very small campbed for the 3rd bed which also made the room cramped as the rooms are quite small. The noise from the indoor pool fans spoiled the atmosphere by drowning out the sound of the sea (after 7PM they were shut off...much nicer). Great location, nice staff, good breakfast. I enjoyed the holiday and would probably go back despite the minor negative comments above, also our room did smell of cigarette smoke for the first couple of days but the hotel can't be blamed for that.

Had a fun stay overall, but some downsides.

Pros:
Pools
Beach
Location
Staff
Room
Elevators are very speedy

Cons:
Kids club is limited by hours and parents can't stay
food could be better for vegans/ vegetarians
Italian restaurant is no-kids, while kids like Italian food.

My stay was very nice.
Place is really well originized, clean, very kind staff. Super breakfast. Location was pretty good as well, plenty of space in the pool, silent and calm.

Everything about this hotel is focussed on making your stay comfortable and easy. Great facilities, friendly, helpful staff, terrific attention to detail. Brilliant location too - right on the sea front with great access to other places by bus and walking.

We spent 2 nights at this hotel. It was a wonderful get away. It would have been nice if the pool was just a bit warmer and stayed open later but other than that it was great. Wonderful breakfast, friendly, helpful staff, beautiful clean hotel and just a great place for some time away. We will be going back again!

This is a wonderful hotel. Great location and amenities. Friendly helpful staff. Great food and wonderful choices. I may return.

Negatives. A 'massage' which cost E65.00 was an absolute and total waste of money!
Night entertainment. The young folk doing their 'Show; in the Bar while regular staff and not professionals, put in a lot of effort but were performers but not entertainers. They did what they wanted without ever considering what the guests might like. Of course most guests were British and maybe that's what turned them on - I wouldn't know about that!
