Very friendly staff, comfortable clean room, liked the added extras, like fruit and water. Didn't try outdoor pool as weather was still a bit cold, indoor pool nice but small. Beautiful views and good location on the beach walk, 20 mins to town centre. Hotel shop was one of the best, with reasonable prices (although the wine was awful!).
Breakfast buffet was exceptionally good, loads of variety and good quality. Rooftop bar not open, maybe due to being out of season.
We really enjoyed our stay.

Our tenth stay in Cyprus, 8 of them at the Athena Royal. The other two at the five star CB Hotels Asimina Suites. Always excellent staff, friendly and helpful at all times. The food is exquisite 100% of the time. Clean as a whistle too.

This property is in an ideal location for the short walk along the coast into Paphos. The dining options at the Hotel are brilliant and the food is amazing. We stayed on a half board basis as we have previously done in the past. The staff are excellent, friendly and very helpful. The outdoor pools are very good
(We didn’t use the indoor pool but it looked good) and there is nightly entertainment should you require it. I would highly recommend this hotel and without a doubt, we will return! Thanks to all the staff at the Athena Royal Beach for making our stay so memorable.

Only one negative.
The pool was freezing , too cold to go into . Such a shame as everything else was great . I’m sure we will return .

Stayed here for 3 days. Staff very friendly and attentive. Rooms were spotless and beds comfortable with great pillows. The food choice is huge and absolutely delicious. My brother and I loved this hotel. We were trying to work out why it isn't 5 stars.
There's even a bus stop opposite the hotel and another a few 100 meters up the road.
The only negative was around allergen listings on food. I have an allergy to soya. I was told that the bread didn't contain soya but when I persuaded the chef to check the packaging, it contained E471 which is soya lecethin and therefore I shouldn't have been told there was no soya. It's a common error I've found in the UK and wherever I've travelled and I suspect/hope that anyone with a severe allergy double checks in the same way I do. But it would be so refreshing if restaurants could get this right. I lose trust in all of the allergen listings once I know there has been at least one mistake. It's tiring and awkward all round to have to question food labelling, but better than being very ill or even dead.
Nevertheless I would definitely stay at this hotel again as would my brother.

Once we arrived we were impressed. The buffet breakfast and dinner was excellent. The only issue we had was pre arrival. We emailed numerous times to enquire about a taxi/car to pick us up from the airport and no-one replied. We ended up being fleeced by a taxi to the hotel, which was a disappointing start. The hotel apologised and were able to book us a taxi back to the airport but it was frustrating.

Room had no AC w/ it being 25 celsius, told them ac was not working, & said its not turned on yet. My last night at 10:45pm maintenance shows up to \"fix the ac\" Good to know they wanted to fix it 12 hours before i left & they wanted to make my stay comfortable right after I paid my bill...Room is outdated from before I was born. No outlets by bed, only USB ports, if u have USBC charger, u won't have your phone next to u. who knows the last time the curtains, decorative pillows, throw blanket had been clean (they are at least 15 years old). So much dust I got sick my first day. Hair dryer cord is maybe 8 inches long max difficult to use. Beach all rock & not easy to deal with, if ur looking for an easy beach to access, walk down the harbor about 20 min. Everything outdated. had to turn in your key (was a physical key not a keycard) everytime u left the property became a hassle. Door handles are old, in my opinion probably easy to pick.Only reason I liked the hotel was because of the location. No issue w/ taxi booked by the hotel, Friday Night went out for a dinner, bolt driver back harrassed me & made inappropriate comments, and did not let me out until I screamed for help. I asked front desk how I can report to authorities, a non emergency # Guy at desk said he will get back to me the next day, no follow up. was a scary experience & would hv appreciated support Overall the stay was not great, definitely wouldn't stay again

Approaching the hotel it looked well cared for and once inside it did not disappoint. We received a smiling, warm welcome, and given a very pleasant drink.

We paid for a side sea view room but were upgraded to a full sea view. The room was perfect, had everything in it you could think of, even bathroom scales and a shoe horn. A bottle of wine and plate of fruit was totally unexpected.
The choice of food at breakfast was second to none, as were the evening meals.
The entertainers were lovely and there were plenty of choices of activities.
Every member of staff wanted to pleas. There were plenty of smiles and lots of generosity on offer.
Certainly an experience we shall remember for all the right reasons.

From the time we arrived at the Hotel, staff were so friendly. Plus we got an upgrade to a one bed suite which had amazing views.The hotel was spotless and a credit to all involed. The room was immaculate and cleaned every day by very plesant staff , who are a credit to the hotel.The food have to say was excellent and staff. The bars were also excellent and staff . We had a Cabana overlooking the sea which was fantastic and a phone if you wanted bar service. Overall it was our first time in Cyprus and picking the The Athena Royal Beach just made it special. Its about 30 min walk into paphos harbour where there are plenty of bars and restaurants. Just down from the hotel you can get a bus ito the harbour for 1.50 euro. We had dinner in the hotel every night as the food was excellent. Just want to mention the staff again who were 10/10. Thank you for making our two week holiday special. We will be back as to be honest it was the most relaxing holiday.

Woul be all ok, but few points to mention:
Wifi connection in rooms is terrible, several times a day you need to re-enter password and etc
Inside heated pool is more like a lottery - water temperature varies from below 28'C - to 31'C and up. That is a big difference and this has not improved since we were on the same hotel last February
Rooms are \"cleaned\" daily, however, if you look in corners, under the bed and even inside the closed - it seems those places are never cleaned.
Pay extreme attention to what room type you book: side-sea-view room is sold as sea view and even superior sea view is actually - side sea view, while street/mountains view room can be no view room at all - our 394 room was exactly the case. Rude and arrogant reception manager (a man I don't remember his name)
Very overcrowded breakfast restaurant, this is extremely noticeable after hotel build an additional flour on top

We really enjoyed our stay here at the Royal. Be aware there are two properties, the \"Royal\" and the \"Beach\". I believe the \"beach\" property has a few more amenities while the Royal is adults only. It definitely caters to a retiree crowd, and as such is nice and quiet! The beach is rocky here but there are multiple jetties that drop you off in deeper water, but the pro-tip is that all beaches in Cyprus are public property so you can swim anywhere! Easily walkable to near beaches that are more sandy if that's your preference. Or hop in a car 30ish mins to Aprodite's Rock, which we loved. We are walkers so we found the approximate 1 mile walk to the main harbor at sunset to be a great way to end our night. Staff was super attentive!

A beautifully clean hotel. Staff work very hard. Good quality food but not exceptional . Need to deal with plastic issues - far too much . Provide filtered water and sell reusable water bottles. Most hotels doing this now. Also no mugs for tea. We boiled our kettle at least 4 times in the mornings ! Provide mugs and you will save electricity. They just need to get in to the 21st century basically! But we had a great stay here.

I loved that it was adult only, this just added to the relaxation.

Facilities are nice and staff were helpful.

When we arrived, a group of 50 arrived at the same time. They took our bag thinking we were apart of that group. Our bag was missing for about 30 minutes until we found it with the other groups bags. They were really apologetic for this and gave us a dinner voucher which was not necessary but a nice touch.

The whole complex and our room was kept spotless and smelt very clean. Although we had a classic room it was very large by hotel standards. Plenty of sunbeds, both by the pool and overlooking the sea, and beach towels were provided. Breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice and cooking stations where chefs prepared eggs to your liking and pancakes. Bar service was good but the nightly entertainment was a bit old fashioned. It would have been nice to have waiter service at the sunbeds by the pool but both the pool bar and the snack bar were good. Location is right next to the sea, about a 20 minute walk to along the coast to the port. There are some pubs and restaurants nearby on the road to the port. Recommended and would stay again.

huge disappointment - gone fame of CBH

We used to come back to this hotel again and again, but - probably never again.
Compared to what it was earlier, this time it was big disappointment.
Starting with breakfast - unorganized chaos of seemingly new staff, who were moving a lot, but achieving nothing.
Those service girls occasionally were shouting and yelling among themselves in presence of guests.
Must to mention - occasionally managers, seemingly big bosses were coming in for observation, but they were bringing more chaos than solution. During their presence sime kinda supervisors were joining in to help those poor untrained girls and that part of show was ending immediately as those bosses were gone.

During our stay 15 days, we observed very unstable replenishing of consumed food: lets say coming to breakfast at 9:00 you may see all cheeses gone, no bread and no butter available.
\"Greek\" style buffet was a joke - if you would open hot dishes (sausages or scrambled eggs) pots you would see discussing uneatable look food-like stuff.

Heated inside pool was just slightly warmer than outside. We informed personnel several times and ..nothing improved. Same chain hotels Pioneer and Athena had really nice warm inside heated pools.

Long story short - huge disappointment compared to what this hotel was earlier.

Very quiet and laid back place. Lots of retired couples - and no entertainment or busy bars.

Great pool, and loads of loungers. Right on the sea front but it's not really a beach, just some rocks to launch yourself into the water from.

Food was average quality for a buffet - with the usual mix of hot and cold options at breakfast and dinner - plus a few more local items. If you aren't on the all inclusive plan, the drinks aren't overpriced which is good.

The room was spacious and had usb ports, loads of hangers, and robes. The decor especially in the bathroom was quite dated. The balcony was great, and had a brilliant view of the sunset.
Overall it's a good location - about 20 mins walk to the harbour (or 5 mins on the bus from in front of the hotel), and a handful of restaurants and basic shops nearby.

Staff didn't go out of their way to offer information about the area or activities, but were happy to help if asked.

Would recommend for a quiet break, but there are more lively places to stay along the same stretch.

All good. I really find nothing to fault them. We arrived during COVID lockdown and they did everything possible to mitigate the restrictions imposed by this. The room and all services were excellent. COVID testing for our return flight was done on site at a very reasonable €55. Restaurants opened up in town as lockdown was lifted. This was a 30 minute walk or €10 cab ride away. Very happy to recommend and contemplating a return trip later this year.

We've enjoyed our stay in the hotel from the first minute: the room was upgraded and well equipped with all facilities, including coffe mashine. Cleaning service was perfect, breakfast - plenty of dishes and everything is fresh and tasty. Reception - 24/7, every mail/call/request was answered quickly and promptly. The hotel offered us late check-out without additional fees, taxi service to the airport at fair price, even made a pleasant surprise for my husband's birthday! Very friendly and helpful staff, always with smile! Indoor pool, Elixir Spa, beauty services, room service - everything was outstanding! The hotel staff are very friendly and welcoming. The check in was painless and the room was very clean and had all the things you would expect. I was travelling on my own but felt very safe and comfortable.
The breakfast choice was vast and had something for everyone and the evening buffet always had fresh salads and a good choice of hot meals.
It is only a 35 minute walk to the main harbour along a promenade.

Immaculately clean in all areas. ALL staff extremely friendly and attentive. Always able to get a sun bed regardless of the time of day. First class breakfast. Buffet dinner was excellent with plenty of choices.

Great location. Hotel staff were exceptional - everything was catered for. Room was very comfortable especially the beds. Breakfast was just perfect - attentive staff, great selection of food and perfect setting. Couldn’t fault a thing so our holiday was magic.

An absolutely fantastic and very relaxing holiday at this hotel - all of the staff were so friendly and helpful especially the really hard working waitresses in the garden and pool areas - the hotel management should be very proud of their team. We will definitely return.

Great location, very large site with enough sunbeds not to have to reserve at the crack of dawn. 3 large outdoor pools and 1 indoor.
Best of all no screaming kids, only criticisms, sun beds need updating
and bedding pretty poor

This upmarket hotel is right on the Mediterranean Sea, with three swimming pools and extensive grounds. There are five varied restaurants, several bars, and a mini-market, which cater for all tastes. My room had a shaded balcony overlooking the sea, and the room itself was well furnished (although the king-sized bed was just two twin beds pushed together).

I found the hotel very relaxing. When I went in late May/early June, the guests were mainly older couples, and it would not be the best hotel for families with young children, I think.

I was particularly grateful for the assistance of the reception staff when my airport transfer did not arrive after I had checked out. The staff were able to sort things out in a highly efficient manner.

I would certainly consider staying at the Athena Royal Beach Hotel again if I return to Paphos.

It was for Adults only! No problem with getting sun beds, in fact ample room, lovely smiley staff. Such relaxing atmosphere. If I had to moan about anything it would be the appalling piped music at breakfast and dinner, it began to grate on our nerves after the first couple of days.

I enjoyed everything about this hotel. Staff, breakfast, room, position, pool etc were all great. It’s walking distance along the coast path to the centre of town and quiet and peaceful.
We ate lunch and dinner out so I can’t vouch for the other meals but they were more expensive than the local restaurants.
