Do not stay here!

Don’t be fooled by the name of the hotel or the setting of the pool. The rooms are a disgrace and unsecure. The first bungalow we were given had a number of issues - no safe, damp, constantly dripping sink tap and shower, couldn’t lock the door properly, stains on sheets, one outside seat which was extremely rusty. We were given 3 coat hangers between the 2 of us. We complained about the lack of safe and they said they would provide one. They provided one however anyone could just walk out with the safe and the contents as the safe wasn’t secured to anything and the staff didn’t seem to understand that this was unreasonable. We asked to be given another room which we was but again, safe wasn’t secured to anything and the window wouldn’t lock. We just decided to book somewhere else and leave and lose the money as we wouldn’t have felt safe staunv there. We were also told that the water would be off for 3 hours as there was a problem with the system. Do not book here! Hotels.com contacted the hotel for a refund and they refused, and we were given a £50 voucher by hotels.com as compensation (naturally the booking itself was much greater than this).

I have stayed at this resort 5 times over the past ten years and owner has never upgraded the rooms ie same mattress and pillows and now they are decrepit. I got severe skin rash from the pool towel. It’s a shame it was a great resort but I will never stay there again.

Rooms are a bit dark, ceiling lights could do with some cleaning. Bathroom fan not working so the room was a bit damp and smelling. Generally the room often smelled a bit like sewer. Entire feel was a bit run down. Outdoor area with pool and seating under roof and palm trees combined with the view was very nice.

We had a deluxe mountain view room, which was really nice and spacious. The pool was nice and clean as well. Really, the only thing we didn't like about this property was the reception desk clerk at check in. Her attitude was indifferent and she appeared to be bothered by our presence and rather hostile. We found our room on Expedia and selected the most expensive from several others. When we arrived, we were told that the room was not available at the rate we were quoted on Expedia, that it was the only room available at the property and if we wanted to stay there, we could stay in the only room available, at the price they were asking upon check in. When we showed her that other rooms were actually available on several booking websites, she said they weren't really available. They were kept in reserve to resolve guest issues, such as a broken air conditioner. When we convinced her that the room we reserved on Expedia was at a lower price than she was asking, she became angry and sullen and said \"very well, if you don't want breakfast\". We felt unwelcome and insulted. It was true that the Expedia rate didn't include complementary breakfast, but it was the way she went about it and her visible unfriendliness, that made our stay less than it could have been. The other reception individuals and staff were genuinely friendly. Maybe she was having a bad day.

Warning!!!! Do not stay here. I know many of us don’t have time to read a long review, so here are the cliff notes:

1. Misleading photos (“pool view room” not as pictured. Pool is to side of room and you stare at plants)
2. Short hours for pool and gym. Pool can be loud with visiting guests if in “poolside room.”
3. No electric upon arrival to hotel, all day, with no advanced warning or complimentary items offered. This was province wide, but was only notified after already being checked in and bags were being rolled to room.
4. “Pool view room” has strong sewer system smell coming from bathroom vent.
5. Tv was non functional entire stay. Upon arrival, both picture and sound. Informed reception, was told technician would come. No updates given to me. Had to ask reception 3x before being told there was a cable issue on the whole side of the property. Nothing was to be done and nothing given to remedy the problem.
6. Ants in room! Everywhere!
7. No water pressure despite tampering
8. Extremely hard bed!!!!
9. Bad breakfast! Read reviews stating there was a good spread, lie!! Also ordered eggs and they were brought to the wrong table
10. Pool chairs advertised are heavy, do not move, and have no functional capability of sitting up. All you can do it lie flat.
11. Language barriers. If yo don’t speak Thai, communication is hard, you get the run around.

Close to the beach and lots of eating stalls

Walking distance to an excellent beach. Lots of ating places everywhere outside.
Be careful to not break or lose anything here because they will charge you and it’s not cheap! They insist they are right and the customer is wrong! Major part of their problem is they don’t understand English. Manager was rude when we needed to speak to him as we were told he spoke English. He didn’t understand us at all though. Left a very bad taste in our mouths. We left feeling like we were thieves because a laundry bag was missing from one of our rooms (they had to change our rooms twice because of mosquitoes coming in from open gaps in the door of our first room, and a thick trail of ants in our second room going through the bed) and the charge to us for that missing laundry bag was 200 THB!

Jus an average hotel

First of all we waited a long time at the immigration queue at the Airport as there were only 4 officers checking out hundreds and hundreds of passengers.. Checking in at the hotel was okay but we were charged 600bahts for the transportation to the hotel. We found out later the normal charge was only 300bahts.
Room amenities did not have toothbrushes and tissue papers. Room was rather small. To be fair to them the room was clean and tidy. Breakfast was okay. Small selection with nothing to wow about. Krabi is getting to be expensive and too crowded. Not coming here anymore.

The grounds were so cute and lush, the bungalow cute and modern amd the staff very helpful . My only complaint, beds were hard.
But overall great place. We only booked our first 4 nights but liked it so much here we stayed the remainder of our trip.

Great service and perfect location

Very nice service at the front desk, and the room was very spacious, with a massive bed, good A/C and tv with cable. The food and the drinks at the bar/restaurant is good and affordable (comparable to the other places/restaurants in Aonong) and you have a majestic view from the bar/pool area with the massive cliffs in the middle of the forest. The hotel is maybe 500 metres from the beach, but is a very walkable road, with lots of bars, restaurants and shops on the way to the beach. At night, the nightlife is very busy, specially at the Central Plaza, where the bars stay open until 5 am, and it's only 10-15min walking from the hotel. I highly recommend staying in this hotel due to the location, its great amenities, and the service from the staff.

Excellent hotel. The staff made me feel very welcome and were helpful with everything (thank you Khun Umpond). Nice pool area with cliff view. I stayed in a bungalow room, and was pleasantly surprised by the modern design and standard. Relatively central, but quiet. Near a small bar area and plenty of restaurants. For the price, definetely one of the best hotels I have stayed in in Thailand.

Great location near to the main shops and bars, but off the main road to ensure limited noise. Was a little disappointed by the outside area in the superior bungalow...wasn't quite as we had expected and described and could have done with some cushions to make for a more comfortable sitting out experience.
Had a security issue but the staff apologised and provided a complimentary plate of fruit as an apology. Wifi reception was very poor.....frustratingly so. Breakfast was included but probably wouldn't have paid extra for it if option had been available.

The design of the place is not bad , but the inside is less . They have only one plug around the whole House , the towel omg , it can't even absorb any water , minutes of wipping I still feel my body is wet .

Quiet, charming hotel close to city streets.

When we arrived in Ao Nang, we were a bit surprised at how busy the city was, not to mention the craziness of the streets...cars, motorcycles, people, noise, etc. luckily we found this hotel/resort which was directly off of these very busy and loud streets, however once you head back to your own individual bungalow type rooms you step into your own little paradise. It was quiet, filled with flora and fauna, lush tropical plants everywhere surrounding you and cooler temperatures...then when it was time to head to the beach or back to the busy streets you were still only about a 2 minute walk away. Views were absolutely stunning of the massive limestone cliffs that Krabi/Ao Nang is famous for! Rooms were extremely adorable and had a great feel. We had our own little patio in our delux bungalow room and the staff was very helpful and kind. Breakfast was excellent and when it was time to leave they arranged for us a shuttle to the airport! We would highly recommend staying at this quiet, cozy, lush resort. Also, the pool and restaurant/bar were extremely convenient and well deserved also!!

Couple of points towards improvement, there is a need to put a mirror in room, Breakfast needs to be improved on varieties and quality of food.

Conveniently located next to numerous restaurants. Bars just doors away but not heard from rooms. Is a 10 min walk to beach but lots to see on the way. On hotel grounds you forget so much is happening on the street. Lushly landscaped. Only reason not a 5 is due to internet inconsistencies. Would stay here again. Hardis and Apo and other staff incredibly friendly and helpful.

A very pleasant stay..

Hotel staff very accommodating and friendly. Room service good and efficient. Breakfast included Thai, Western and Continental options. Massages sampled and we felt very refreshed afterwards. All areas of the hotel are clean and functional. Room was spacious and clean. Area is quieter than other parts of more touristy Thailand - which we liked. Local restaurants on the opposite side of the road are good and a very short walk to the beach. Building work is going on locally but didn't bother us. Overall a very pleasant stay.

From collection at Krabi airport through our stay to deposit at Krabi Airport for our excellent return on Nok Air this was a lovely trip. The hotel is so friendly and is just a 10 minute walk to the beach. The area is full of restaurants and shops and is laid back and family friendly.

Overall good but some improvements to be made

The overall stay was good though there were 2 blackouts during our 3D2N saty due to the thunderstorm. The electricity took awhile to come back on which made the room rather stuffy.Room was clean and the bed was big and comfortable. The shower would have been better if it was a glass door instead of shower curtain which made the floor quite wet during a shower as it could not be closed completely.

Pleasant hotel in convenient position

This is a friendly hotel that made us feel welcome from arrival to departure. The pool was not big but warm and clean.
There was a dining area/ bar adjacent to the pool which is where we ate several times. The service was not fast but attentive and the food was always good. The hotel arranged excursions for us and transport to out of the way shops and beaches which made it easy. There were facilities which we didn't use (fitness room / Massage) but were available if required. Rooms were unusual but functional with air con and safe.

the worst hotel we stayed at in Thailand

firstly the hotel staff was HORRIBLE. They were rude and condescending.
We had booked a suite for our honeymoon which was apparently next to a construction site that we were obviously not informed about.
The air conditioning was so bad for such a hot place that we shifted to a lesser room. The staff was overtly rude throughout
The new room was a broken room with the safe broken. Half the drawers were broken which the staff didn't even get fixed immediately
The wifi SUCKED & the tv only had local channels
I would strongly suggest against the hotel

Very kind and helpfully staff. The hotel has a unique atmosphere. The gardens and red pool are very nice. The room is spacious with modern design, however, it looks much better in the photographs online compared to reality. It's about a 10-15 min walk to Aonang beach with tons of restaurants and bars along the way.

Unpleasant stay

My friend recommended this resort for my company retreat. She had good experience stay years back when the resort was newly open. However, we had an unpleasant and disappointed stay. Breakfasts served daily were the same with few dishes and when requested for fried eggs, the chief gave an unhappy expression to my staff. At the end of the stay, my staff was asked to pay for a pair of beach slippers which was not place in the room at all. There were no reminder note of checking the room’s items and their house keeping is questionable. Do check the room items when check-in, so as to avoid unnecessary payment.

Good budget hotel very close to the beach.

We were upgraded to the pool side m/t room with a beautiful view of the cliff/ limestone rock. This was great except when you come out of the room the swamp smell below the cliff is quite strong and spoils the view. The room is air conditioned so we couldnt smell it once your inside the room. But there was no way to enjoy the view when you sit outside. It was walking distance from the beach and shops and restaurants. So that was good. Ao nang is far from krabi town, but we liked ao nang.

Overall staff was friendly and good. The hotel was pleasant overall except for the smell.

Its a neat little place. The up side - its location near all sorts of eateries and massage. Hotel staff recommended wanee massage which was at the right hand side down the street. Excellent. Love the view in the hotel and its a pleasant walk to the beach. About 10 mins. You won't feel it coz there are so many shops that u can either stop buy and buy yourself a cooling cocktail while u walk. The location is best of all. Downside - bed is hard and our room is next to the drain. It smells. However, inside the room is ok

It was a really good experience staying there. Perfect for couples. Rooms are big and clean. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. About 10 minutes walk to Ao Nang beach. A lot of restaurants and convenient stores outside of the hotel. But the hotel serve the same food every morning for breakfast. I stayed there for 4 days so I've had the same soggy food every morning lol. But a good stay overall!

It was an great resort, except: the bed was uncomfortable, the pillows were extremely stiff and the room smelled like urine steadily after the scented candle they had went out. The view was great and the private bungalow feel was nice. Couldn't get over that smell though, luckily we were only there the one day. Location was alright, decent restaurants around that were affordable and not too far to the beach.

The staff at Aonang Paradise were lovely. The cliff view room had a lovely view and was away from the busy road. The bed was firm, as with most beds in Thailand, pillows were ok. Shower worked well. The room furniture needs updating, it was very scratched which made it look old.Tint on the glass frontage would be a nice idea so as when you had the curtains open everyone who walked past couldnt see in. Breakfast was nice, with quite a few options to choose from.

Very happy-made our trip

When reaching the hotel after two not so perfect hotels we didn't expect much. There was some building works just outside the hotel which made us feel this May be the same but we were wrong. On reaching reception we could tell this hotel was almost perfect. Extremely warmly welcoming staff who then showed us to the room. On entering the room it was clean and tidy and no foul smells. The bathroom was clean. Our first trip was to the pool. It was empty, clean and warm with a great view of the cliffs, trees and greenery. The pool was small but as it was empty this was not an issue. The pool bar staff were great and attentive. The jacuzzi wasn't working which was a downfall. There are lizards outside but this is natural. The hotel is about a 5 minute walk from the beach.

Wifi is weak in the rooms which is great for those wanting to spend quality time without being on this phones every second of the day.

Before the trip the staff were attentive our needs. They decorated the room as it was our anniversary and also arranged the transfer from the airport to the hotel.

tours to the island can be arranged by near by tour agents. Prices are the same at every agent. only diff operators.
Recommend good Thai food restaurant just 5 mins walk on the right side of the hotel. Restaurant with Thai Sign board, The left of the hotel leads to the beach and other expensive shops.

Beautiful pool view ,pleasant stay

Reception area could be more welcoming but past that, the hotel experience were superb. Rooms are clean and big, pool view are great and only if the pool is bigger .
Overall great holiday experience with pleasant staffs .
A Big thank you to the reception ladies, the Sea of Love staffs and the pleasant GM Miss Pimchana.

We spent 4 days at the resort and found it a pleasant, clean, well run place. The staff were helpful and efficient. It is well placed in Ao Nang, just off the main road, but quiet. There are shops, restaurants and tour companies close by.

hotel very near to Aonang Beach, only 10 minutes walking distance. but quite far from Krabi Town(20 minutes-motorcycle). but the hotel is being surrounded by restaurant, minimart, pharmacy, rental car/motorcycle, and tesco.
it is convenience for Muslim to hunt for food too. nice place to stay i would say.

Aonang paradise is
Very nicely down hotel. It is on the Main Street of aonang and hence is walkable distance from main eating and evening destinations. The swimming pool faces a beautiful cliff and when you are not out on beaches, soaking in pool or drinking in bar while looking at cliff could be equally fun.

The hotel staff works till 11 am and report back 6 in morning at front desk, however they are helpful and eager to support your needs.

Found this place to be value for money and worth the stay.

We had a very pleasant stay at AoNang. It is a beautiful area with towering sandstone cliffs, clean beaches and plenty of nature. English is widely spoken and restaurants are abundant. The hotel was sufficient for our requirements with our only real criticism being that the bathroom was a bit smelly. Breakfast was good, if a little pricey, but served in a good location.

Just a nice stay

Is a nice distance to search for food and the beach. The environment is so peaceful, like living in a little cottage. Just that there are more mosquitoes than usual. (Bushes and trees around) like services, the receptionists can communicate well in English. And Wi-Fi service is awesome! Overall is a great stay if you're searching for a relaxing resort.

Nice enough resort, close enough to the beach.

The entry to the resort is really just a narrow and steep hill in so you have to watch out for it. Other than that, location wise the resort is actually quite decent for its price. The rooms are more like single cabins with toilets and each room has a different orientation/arrangement which changes the sizing of the room and is feel. The staff are really helpful so you don't have to worry once you get there :)

The hotel has a killer view and decent priced rooms. Those are the main pros.
It seems like the hotel is in real need of updating. There were paint chips missing from furniture and stains on walls and sheets. That said, it mostly felt clean. The pool area was nice as the beach swimming hours were limited due to tide. There were also three geckos in our room annoying us with their chirping. Probably got in through staff leaving doors open as they cleaned is our guess.

Fantastic!

Loved our stay here. Came to krabi for 2 days as we had a flight out of there. There wasn't tons we wanted to do there so we were very glad we booked at Ao Nang Paradise as it was a great place to relax! The rooms were nice, big and clean and had clean comfy slippers! Wifi worked so good in our room. The food at Birds of Paradise was delicious but pricey. The pool area was really nice, lots of seats and gorgeous view of open green space and a big limestone cliff. Pool was a bit small but nice. About a five minute walk to the beach, with lots of little restaurants, shops and market stores along the way. Would definitely stay here again!

a nice place to stay, but they let themselves down with just little things which dont make sense eg. no irons in the rooms / all meals served in the bar, by the time they arrive food cold / could only charge to the room from the bar, could not pay cash.

Recommended for those who aren't too fussy

I stayed here for 4 nights during the 'low' season in May 2014. I will summarise my experience here -

great and helpful staff, most of my itinerary was recommended and booked with their help. Even bike rental was done through them and was all competitively priced and safer compared to going out to source on your own.

Rooms were satisfactory, comfortable and clean enough. They clean and tidy the room well every day. There were encounters of mosquitoes in the room itself, and lots of ants outside the room, but they all weren't much of an issue.

The place is a 10+min walk down to Ao Nang beach. Highly recommend renting a scooter to commute!

Overall a great experience.

Well worth the money!

We loved our stay at Aonang Paradise Resort. It's a great central location about 20 minutes away from the airport, with lots of great food and little shops around. We were able to go do all our Krabi activities with very minimal travelling. Friendly staff - very accommodating with our requests for additional towels and pillows. The room was spacious and clean. Overall, a great experience!

The hotel is near to the Aonang beach, however the resort is rather old. Staff are not very friendly, room services and additional request for pillow etc not available after 10pm as room service is closed. The room we stayed was flooded with water due to air con leak but house keeping was not available to help till 9am. Breakfast very limited and the staff were rather rude when we asked more info about the eggs that was served upon request.

The staff at the resort were extremely helpful. The rooms were well laid out and away from the loud street- you could barely tell it was even there! The pool bar service was fantastic as well. I would definitely recommend staying here to everyone. The only thing to beware of, is that they do not have black out curtains, so it was VERY bright early every day.

Small quiet hotel in excellent location

I liked the individual bungalows concept rather than hotel rooms.This small resort is quiet, it is just 50 yards off the main street, yet it is only a 5 minute walk to the beach and has lots of restaurants in very close proximity. Service is very good and buffet breakfast has lots of very good options. The staff in charge of breakfast is very attentive to the clients needs and wonderfully welcoming. The pool is rather small but it offers a spectacular view of the karst cliffs. We stayed 9 nights and everything worked out very well.

We have travelled to Thailand 4 times and stayed in 5star hotels, I can honestly say that the staff at Aonang paradise Resort are the best we have encountered. We found the hotel to be clean, dinner was excellent and the price was the same as some of the outside restaurants. The 5star extras weren't there but the extras weren't needed. Cannot fault this hotel at all and this complaining about it being basic in areas need to consider the price they paid. Excellent value for money, if we ever visit Krabi again would definitely stay here
