We were amazed when we arrived. The property is stunning! It is located in in such a great location for food and shops. If you choose this area of Montreal, you are choosing to immerse yourself in everyday citizen life which is our preference when traveling rather than a tourist mecca.

Our apartment had a full size kitchen, living/dining area and two bedrooms with a washer dryer. There are three grocery stores within a block. Everything was clean and fresh.

I gave it almost a perfect rating on everything and I cannot criticize anything.

With that said, I want you as a consumer to know some things that will make this less stressful:

Check in: There is no check in staff. If you reserve a room, check your inbox in Hotels.com. It will give you a link to preregister and upload your ID and then they will very quickly respond with the exterior door code, your room code and a code to the roof which is gorgeous. This was my only hiccup and not any fault of theirs. I misunderstood and that is on me. It didn't help that our cell phones didn't work across the border from US - our fault.

Mobility: There is no elevator. If you are on the second or third floor there are only stairs and no real railing to hold onto.

Parking: (We knew this and it is clear in the description). There is no parking. We had no trouble finding street parking but you have to feed the meter every three hours. There is no charge after certain hours at night until morning.

This was a perfect stay! No regrets!

Cons: Kitchen wasn't fully stocked for a group of 6, AC didn't work one night, though the host was quick to have it fixed the following day. No propane for the balcony BBQ,
no reception, steep stairs for seniors, wifi went out one day so no internet or tv, also affected the door code so we got locked out on the street until someone exited. Parking is a nightmare, if you have a car don't even consider this place. Had to move several times a day and parked blocked away sometime.

Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing stay. On arrival, the beds were not arranged as chosen, the bed linen had not been changed from the previous guests, and the apartment had clearly not been cleaned. The toilet was filthy, with dirt and splashes on and around the seat. The apartment was not in a habitable condition, and we were unable to sleep there on the first night.

Instead of enjoying our holiday, we had to spend part of the next day waiting at the apartment to allow cleaners access to replace the bedding and clean the property. This completely disrupted the start of our holiday.

The listing was also misleading regarding air conditioning. There is only one unit in the kitchen/living area, while the bedrooms have no air conditioning, making them very uncomfortable at night.

The building itself was poorly maintained. The same food crumbs and dirt on the communal stairs that were there when we arrived were still there three days later when we left.

On our final day, the washing machine displayed an error code and stopped halfway through the wash, leaving us unable to complete our laundry.

I asked the host for a refund of the first night, as the apartment was not fit for occupation on arrival, together with some compensation for the inconvenience. The host refused to refund even the first night's stay. I cannot recommend this property based on our experience.

The hallways/common areas were really filthy. Outside the bedroom window was a light well with nasty trash in it. The only other windows looked out on a stinky back alley. The furniture was dirty and kitchen pans were gross. Otherwise, the location was great, the price was reasonable, and management was pretty responsive.

Missing some basics like non stick pans, only one towel per person, limited paper towels, limited coffee pods, no dish towel in the kitchen. Room upstairs in the back was hot and ac wasn’t helping. Good stuff - clean, hot tub was nice, beautiful balcony. Street Parking was confusing so went to private lot instead. Overall, pretty good but some small areas for improvement.

This is our second time staying in this hotel. But this recent stay really disappointed us. The reason why we came back is because of the location of the hotel and it is near to a lot of good food. However, this recent stay it seems like the place has been really neglected. First, the room description doesn’t match what you get in the room - it stated that there’s a twin bunk bed however we only got a twin bed. Also, the room’s couches and bed were all dirty. The couch smelled like vomit and there were so many stains as well. The windows had no screens and most of the windows doesn’t open. The remotes were all dirty as well. All these concerns were passed down to the management but they were too slow to response and left couple of voicemails but no callbacks. In addition, the hotel lobby was also dirty and filled with stains on the floor. The reception desk had beer bottles lying around and the lobby had a funky smell. I will not come back to this place as I was a very upset.

Great location and nice room. But my goodness the property managers have no idea what they are doing. Took us 45 minutes to get into our room because they gave us the wrong door code. Then the next night I heard a group of people walk into someone else’s room because management gave them the code to their room and the only lock on the door can be unlocked from the outside. The soundproofing is terrible and can hear everything in the lobby and surrounding rooms.

Found dirty socks in bedroom, no bottom bed sheet on bed, bathroom seemed really clean. Lacking supplies, no paper towel,hand towels, facecloths, coffee or tea. Stairwell carpets were really dirty. Throw pillows needed to be washed so we did that first thing. BBQ was filthy, unusable and no propane anyway. Not one kitchen utensil was there. We bought some to use.

Only one keuring pod coffee remaining for 2 person, the comforter was too small for a king size bed. I was obliged to take the other one in the 2nd room, a queen size. Hopefully we were 2, not 3 or 4. No extra blanket or comforter in spare.

I have a formal complaint ready to go for the Régie du bâtiment about this place the lack of handrails is illegal. Plus, we were treated unfairly. I rented a unit for one week, as I accompanied my 86 year old mother. The location was very practical for her. She cannot travel alone and so came along to help her. The building has no elevator which was unfortunate, but in no way unusual. Our unit was on the second floor. However, there are no railings on the stairs, which means that I had to keep adjusting my schedule so that I could be there every time she used the stairs. Access to upper floors is non-existent for the elderly. On day two, I asked about an available unit on the main floor. I paid extra money (it was larger). An hour later, as I was preparing to move our stuff, I found out that – despite being VERY CLEAR about my mom’s situation – it was a 3-floor unit with no access to a bathroom without using stairs, and still no railings! We decided that the upper unit was preferable in the end, and they refused to give back the extra sum, claiming that we should have visited the unit first – an extraordinarily petty act since this was all done within a few hours. I come from a family of lawyers and judges, they will be also getting a copy of my complaint to the Régie. The building is not up to code. They are operating this building in contravention of bylaws. I have photographic evidence. Would not recommend.

First this hotel is not worth it, their staff are terrible and unfriendly. You will climb the stairs with your luggage and the worst is that we had power outage and when I called after 2 hours, I was told that it was a city issue and that I should complain to the city. I then decided to check out (this was now like 4 hours of no power) and they still have the gut to say they will not refund. So they are a BIG FRAUD.

I stayed at this property for one night and had a disappointing experience. The staff were unprofessional, and the front desk staff were drinking alcohol in front of customers. The bedding was dirty and appeared not to have been changed, and some of the utensils were not cleaned properly. The surrounding area felt unsafe due to people using drugs on the street nearby. Lastly, there was no parking available at the property, and we had a difficult time finding parking at night.

Just not ideal - left to stay somewhere else

The photo's look nice on Hotels.
I was expecting to be able to park at the units as it is advertised with Parking available. This parking is on the streets around the area.
I didn't like being called prior to arrival to ask to use a link to pay deposit and do a security check.
My wife looked at the outside of the building and did not like the vibe of the people hanging around the entrance.
And was too frightened to think about leaving the car out on the streets or even going into the units.
We booked another hotel in the area and got an Uber to the event we were going to.
My rating is based on external experience as we did not see the room.
Shame to waste the money for a room we did not stay in seeing as there was a fee to clean it.
Hopefully this can help future bookers think about what they may be getting into.

This property was the dirtiest apartment I have ever stayed in. There were disgusting stains on the pullout couch (which there was no linen provided for if we did want to use it to sleep on), mascara stains on the pillow cases, we found hairs in the beds, black mold in the shower, weird stains on the curtains. The list goes on.
The primary bedroom is street facing so it is incredibly loud and you can hear every conversation of people passing on the street. The only redeeming quality of this place was the friendly concierge.

The pull out couch was also in terrible condition almost about to fall apart. Other than that location is what is to expected not too far from the heart of Montreal but not in the center of it. This hotel is located in a very sketchy neighborhood. Very dirty ghetto type neighborhood with a bunch of homeless people lurking around. They had a passed out drunk or drug addict in the graffitied door right next to the hotel. They say that they have available parking and they do not have available parking. The parking is if you can find a public parking space. It took me 30 minutes to find a spot to park and when I asked about their parking they do not have any. The area is so unsafe that even the staff have to ring you in. Due to the fact I felt very uneasy I did not stay, Definitely not the area for a woman to travel alone. The border patrol had already alerted me that I was going to an unsafe area and not to leave my car in a non secured parking lot because they will steal it specially with foreign plates. The manager would not refund nor come to the phone for me nor for Hotels.com. To boot it was garbage day and the whole back block was lined with garbage bags from one end to the other. They do not use garbage cans. Just garbage bags all over the place. Overall a pretty disgusting place. I was suppose to stay for 3 days, two nights and I stayed for 3 hrs..

Potential clients should know that even if they have paid they will have to check in through an unknown website that will require the to provide photos of front and back of photo ID, selfie, and photo of front and back of their credit card. If they dont comply they will not be able to access the room that they've already paid for. The person at front desk in my case was completely useless. The place was almost as expected, we were 2 couples and a baby. Cleanness is fine, kitchen is well equipped to cook a meal. Beds are comfortable. We had planned to use the living room sofa bed but it was terrible to sleep on. We would have prefered a second room with a real double bed, but we had to use the 2 single bunk beds in the second room which is extremely small, it barely fits the bunkbeds and nothing else, feels more like a walking closet! This was a busness trip, we had to get up at 6;00 It was very noisy on the floor above us the first night. lots of walking with noisy shoes until 12:00. We were awakened at around 3;00 in the morning by people yelling and arguing. I guess that it is not necessarely always the case. The second night was very quiet.

The property was ok, not enough places to hang clothing or towels. Fairly clean. Our problem was with parking. The desk assistant said we could park on street, or park in a $35 lot 10 minutes away. The posted parking hours on the meters do not reflect actual parking hours as we found out by getting a very expensive parking ticket. Phone apps for parking are unclear as well, but that is separate from this residence. Parking rules should have been clearly stated to us.

It was a good place to stay at minus the parking. They had alternative private parking that’s a 15 min walk from the loft. It was easier to get into an uber in downtown montreal. there were lots of stores and restos within the vicinity for a quick bite.
They’re complete with kitchen accessories and toiletries. There some parts that weren’t exactly clean like the living room chair and master bedroom window.

My experience wasn’t that good when I arrived, there was a language barrier, and they needed you to scan your information into their computers, which was a laptop. Parking was a nightmare you had to constantly be switching between one side of the street or the other and in the morning I had a $351 parking ticket for parking on the wrong side of the street, when I asked the attendant to translate, she was helpful, but pointed to a very small placard, which talked about parking. They need to advertise this more in the description of this place. It says parking was included, which it was not looks nice in the pictures and it is very modern in the condos but overall it was still shabby.

The property is in a very nice area where there are lots of dinning places and coffee shops. The area feel safe although was a little dirty. The property itself is very run down. The place was renovated but was not maintained well. I would say this is property management issues. They don't feel like they need to maintain or fix things. There was no shampoo/conditioner/shower gel in the bathroom. There is some conditioner but smelled really bad - prob way expired. The dish detergent is also moldy. The water pot with the filter and the coffee pot was never washed. Not sure if all the bedsheets or towels were washed properly but one of the bed sheet has a stain. It was very hot while we stayed so we didn't use the blanket. The sofa bed is very dirty. We ended up having a family of 3 sleeping in the \"king\" size bed - which was really put together with 2 full size beds. The door lock was falling apart. We screwed them back together. This made us very uncomfortable until we found that the neighborhood is probably safe and we put down our guard. But we still hesitate to leave anything in the room especially our laptops. The pictures in Expedia is pretty deceiving as the unit we picked was not the picture shown. Be careful and made sure you pick the correct room. We originally thought we picked 2 bedroom with 2 queens and 1 sofa bed. We had a room with bunk bed - that squeaks every single small movement and you don't have any space to put your luggage.

I recently stayed at a hotel and unfortunately, I encountered a problem with the bed. Specifically, there were flies in it. While I understand that these things can happen, I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the room. I hope that in the future, the hotel staff can take extra care to ensure that the rooms are thoroughly cleaned before guests arrive. Overall, I appreciate the efforts of the staff and enjoyed my stay, but this issue did detract from my experience.

General Manager From Hell

The General Manager there Brian is the absolute worst person I have ever had to deal with when dealing with hotels.

We booked through Expedia and didn't purchase the refund protection. Our problem I know. Two days before our scheduled arrival date we tried to cancel (son got sick) and get a refund or voucher or change the dates but Brian refused. That's fair, we tried.

On the day we were to arrive, I called the hotel to confirm our booking, since we couldn't cancel or reschedule we were going to go, just my partner and I. I asked about the conditions in Montreal because of all the power outages and the fallout of the ice storm there on Wednesday/Thursday and was told by Brian that there were no problems in Montreal, that it is all media hype.

Well, turns out, I was told this by one of his staff, that the building we are staying in still has now power - at three in the afternoon(at 6pm they still had no hydro) of the day we are scheduled to check in.

At this point the only fair thing to do is to offer a full refund, but no.

We are expected to drive 6 hours from Toronto to arrive at a hotel that can not provide electricity to their paying guests, and hope that the power comes one at some point during our vacation. That's wrong!

Everything was perfect. It was clean, spacious, very comfortable for my family.
The employees were kind and professional.
The only issue: there is no elevator.

Poorly managed, no communication, no one at reception ever not even during hours in property’s description til 7pm .

Unsafe and horrible communication

The apartment itself was a nice ñ, comfortable space, but the building common areas were dirty, the door to the street was often unlocked and there was rarely anyone at the check-in/security desk. Communication with the property manager and staff was also a problem. When I had technical issues with the self check-in process the day before I arrived I emailed the management company but never heard back. When I arrived there was no staff at the checkin desk so I called the 24 hour number for the management company but got a message saying they were only available 9-5. I had to wait 40 minutes in the lobby area until I could find a number to message someone at the management company who then somehow found the security guard who was supposed to be at the desk to come and let me in. Saw another group the next day who was having a similar experience.

I definitely DID NOT like that the property did not disclose that it was a walk up with no elevators and the staircase had NO banisters to hold on to and it was not ventilated at all. I feel very deceived for a property that charges like it is a 4 star property. Many other customers that were next door said the same thing. And when I called about not receiving my access codes, the customer service representative was rude! This property needs to be transparent with potential customers.
