Not suitable for families , too many older people. Wifi does not work in the rooms , very poor connection. Pools were not always heated, only when asked were they then heated up an one or two days. Food was nice but waiters pushing drinks at service which is extra was off putting. Steps up and down to ground floor is a bizarre design. Hotel has potential but needs an upgrade.

Generally Good - One or two issues.

Booked a 6 night stay at a cost of £135 per night. Good sea view but room a little tired. Wallpaper old fashioned blown vinyl with lots of marks on it. Not that it was a major issue but I could only get two English tv channels on tv, BBC 2 and sky news.
Had to pay for use of fridge and there was no tea/coffee making facilities - they cost extra.
Food generally good with plenty of choice - could be warmer though - veg was cold. Pool good nice grounds. Main reception area nice. Staff quite helpful. Location is good and beach is easily accessible from the hotel.
In summary, this hotel just lacks a few touches to be competitive 4* hotel given that there are some new modern stylish hotels up and coming in the resort. It’s a little disappointing that services you would expect to be given at a 4* hotel have to be paid extra for.

Stay was okay. Hotel is mostly for older couples and seems to be aimed at that age group - there’s a dress code for dinner.

If you are going to be working remotely while staying at the hotel be aware that the Wi-Fi works sometimes in the rooms on phone but not at all on my laptop. I had to work from close to reception on the days that I worked and I had to ask for it to be reset a couple of times.

I didn’t use my all inclusive much, the food that I did try was okay. They have an outdated system where you have to carry your all inclusive card at all times and sign a receipt whenever you use your all inclusive.

The pools were amazing and heated which I loved. You can hire beach towels for a €10 deposit and these can be exchanged for new ones every day.

I went out most nights so didn’t get a chance to see the entertainment at night but it sounded okay from what I heard.

The rooms were cleaned every day and were very clean. The only issue I had was that the shower leaked onto the floor no matter what I tried to prevent it resulting in a large puddle every day.

Overall - not a bad stay but they could work on updating a few things to attract younger guests.

Very nice hotel close to airport - used it as a last night stay after playa blanca when getting early flight home nect morning.
Staff very friendly helpful. Couldnt fo enough for guests.
Great display of food provided for Breakfast / dinner that was good quality and fresh.
Would recommend for the older guests. It met my needs for my stay due to close proximity to airport.
Hotel was very clean with staff constantly cleaning hotel.

Enjoyable stay

Everything was as expected as on previous stays just a little different because of Covid which is necessary.
We had a very efficent and welcoming check in and found all the staff helpful and friendly. We would especially like to mention Stephenie who was helpful when we requested a room change for personel choice and not only did she accomodate us but always with a friendly smile and pleasant manner.
The food both at breakfast and dinner was top notch an excellent choice.
Hope to return next year Covid permitting.

The hotel was ok but not a 4* and really starting to date. The rooms were clean in sense of cleaners doing their jobs but there were things they could not resolve such as old carpet, roof tiles in the bathroom falling out and a shower that looks like it had been there for 20 years!
The atmosphere in the hotel was not overly welcome - it is not a place I would recommend for family’s - very much a hotel for older couples who don’t want much entertainment. The food was ok - breakfast standard and lunch was ok (although they seemed to have an issue with using your free diner for lunch instead). The pool is salt water which some people may like but we were not a fan. Finally the room keys kept stopping working so that was a pain. Overall it was ok but I would not want to go back for another 30 years or so until I’m in my 70’s

This hotel is an excellent location, it is just a short distance from the airport, it is right on a small sandy beach next to a rocky shore line and is just a short walk along from a large sandy beach where it is possible to access the sea to paddle and swim without clambering over any rocks. The hotel is clean and well maintained and the food is good quality with plenty of variety. I would describe this hotel overall as a genuine four star property in all respects, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there and hope to return in the future.

The reviews and photos of this hotel are totally inaccurate. It’s so dated it’s like something from 1970s. Seating in the lounge is threadbare, the bar opens at hours to suit staff and not the customer. The staff from reception to pool bar we’re brusque verging in rude and uninterested. For a 4* having to pay for pool towel hire, being served an inedible freezer burnt burger which was white in colour and peeling paint and grafitti on external hotel walls shows that the owners just don’t care. The sun loungers wre old, tatty and so tightly packed together it was awful. Pool area floor tiles are heavily cracked and the grouting it coming away everywhere including the stairs which makes them a constant ‘near miss’ hazard. This property need refurbishing badly and or realistic photos being used as adverts along with a management shake up. .

Our room was ok but had a musty smell. The advertisement that the room had a double bed was incorrect - it was two single beds on castors so separated as soon as either of us ventured to the middle!! Two single beds pushed together does not constitute a double. The San Antonio does not have double beds, reception confirmed this when we asked to be changed to a room with a double bed. The buffet style food was adequate but limited in variation and choice. Wifi only in the main lobby none anywhere else so poor for a 4 star hotel .We have stayed in other Hotels in area which were better and therefore will not be revisiting the San Antonio.

We were back in the VIK San Antonio for the 2nd time in 12 months, I thought that the service standard had slipped in the 12 months,staff in dining room not friendly, food choice was poor, we booked full board but after the 1st night we ate out every evening. We had upgraded to a newly renovated room, loose floor tiles , ceiling peeling , certainly not upgraded, No WIFI in rooms, extras for safe and use of fridge (needed for medicine), entertainment very repetitive at night, On the positive side , the facilities are spotlessly clean, House keeping standard is excellent. We received complimentary champagne, water and fruit as returning customers. Overall disappointing based on previous years good experience.

Arrived at 1130 and was very surprised that room was ready so we went to room and Found it on a dark corner with a palm tree in front, the balcony was the smallest I had ever seen, barely holding 2 chairs and a small table-my heart sank! I then knew why the room was ready, I went back to reception and asked to be moved to another room so after an hour which was fine we got a nicer room with a better balcony. Food was fine-we were on a full board basis, deserts best part. WiFi only in main reception and lower hall which was unbelievably disappointing. Would rate it 3 star and def not 4 star

Nice hotel close to beach, plenty of sun loungers available around the 3 hotel pools. Sun loungers on the beach are “Town” owned and are charged at €12 per day. Restaurant and food exceptional with good variety daily. The only niggle is that you have to pay to have a kettle in your room (for a 10 day stay we paid €12) and the same for a fridge (although if you need to store medication you get this for half price). I would have thought that a 4 star hotel would have these included in the price of your stay. Everything seems to be priced at €12! Certainly a hotel I would choose again.

3rd time to stay for a week over Christmas and whilst its still good, its not as good as the year before. Weather was superb. Entertainment was the area with the biggest deterioration. The hotel was nice, staff were pleasant, the views were amazing, the location was perfect...walking distant to two strips plus the hotel was on the beach. Perfect for the older generation or families.

Two downfalls were the sauna and gym. There were only a hand full of gym equipments and they were old and rusty. The sauna did not work.

I had my spending money stolen out of my suitcase by I assume the cleaners as they're the only ones with access to the rooms. Even when I had the do not disturb sign on the door they would use their key card to come in the room regardless. But it was my fault as I didn't use the room safe to keep my valuables in. Live and learn.

Does what is says on the tin

This hotel has been running successfully for years and this was my 6th time there. You know what you are going to get and I suppose this is it's big plus and big minus. The service is the same with the same staff doing the same thing in the same way. The same trolleys clear your table as you finish at the same time. I suppose the size of the place means it needs to run in order or things start going wrong. The pool bar was busy but again \"this is the way we do it\" caused delays and irritation at times. An extra till would help!! The 2 acts I saw I had saw before the last time I was there and the time before. The acrobat guy even did the same routine and I knew what was coming. A bit like watching a favourite film. You know what happens and what it is like and there are no surprises but I guess that is why you watch it.. and why I went back.
Overall a good location and a decent standard hotel. It has the feel of a 4/5 star James Bond Goldfinger type hotel and is a bit dated... but then again, ain't we all?

I was impressed by the service I received there.
The staff could speak any language and was very helpful.
The food was excellent and the location as well.
Not very good for young people as it is a report mainly for family and oldest people.
It was my birthday and they send me complementary bottle of prosecco.
I ordered a cake which cost me £20 but it was so big and so good. I have never had a cake better than I had here. It was amazing.
The hotel is just 30 seconds walk from the bus stop.
Buses are working, you just need to ask for the timetable at the reception.
Do not take taxi because buses can take you everywhere.
Book the grand tour excursion which is the best for seeing the whole island.
Do not book fuertaventura because you will be spending the all day in the bus. Just take the farry to go there.

Having been here last year, sent my mum and friend for short break. Both came back saying how beautiful, clean and comfortable his hotel is and only over shadowed by the great customer care of the staff. Enjoyed so much so they are booking to return next year for s longer stay.

Will book it again and again!

The Hotel is right on the beach, with lovely views of the sea over a lush tropical garden. The beach is a mixture of fine volcanic dark sand and volcanic rocks. A little to the right there is a perfect access to the sea over a smooth sand. Excellent location for visits to the best places on the island. There is a strip of shopping malls and countless restaurants a stone throw away, without affecting the peace and quiet of the hotel. Beautiful swimming pools. Brilliant staff in the kitchen and restaurant, and the richest tastiest buffet I have tried recently. Clean and comfortable rooms. Excellent cleaning staff. The reception staff also is very welcoming and helpful. Will go back again!

10 years since we last visited. Not much has changed !.. This is good because the standards are still high, rooms good, food still a great choice. Hotel a little tired now but still one of the best to stay in for a family holiday.
Bar staff a little slow but I can wait longer as I am on holiday - relax and enjoy.
Hotel rules say no reserving sunbeds with towels - this is not kept to as difficult to find a sunbed when busy - it was August so we expect that - use the beach instead ! easy.
Would use again no problem

Staff excellent although some waiters had a few issues. Rooms were v good, bit dated but v clean. Pool area cramped, lots of sun beds/shade but not a lot of room around them. Pools not as large as photos suggest and v warm by afternoon, too warm to swim in. Gym was just a shop unit with equipment lined up at the sides, husband/son not impressed although we did see it used occasionally. Bar prices reasonable, 12€ for house wine with meal & not bad. Food ok but lots of queuing depending on timing. Dress code ignored so shorts worn also ignore rule over sun beds as they we're reserved early. Didn't watch entertainment so cannot comment. Don't think we would return as although we like 4/5 star hotels we like a slightly more relaxed/ spacious hotel.

Tired and not for the young!

This hotel is by no means 4 star and I think you would be pushing it to say it's even 3 star. The rooms are tired and the hotel is dated and it is in huge need of a make over. The gym, which is situated underneath a swimming pool absolutely stank and was basically unusable due to the roof leaking. The rooms are small and dark and the balconies tired and unwelcoming. The bathrooms were clean but again, tired, rust around the plug hole and the hairdryer has no power (so pack your own)! They say you cannot reserve sun beds, this is not true, by 9am all the beds were reserved with towels. The pool areas are all chlostrophobic with enforced shade in the form of cemented in umbrellas so if you like to get the sun it's almost impossible. The hotel is not on the beach like the photos show (well not a usable beach) but there is a nice beach 500 meters away which is €12 euros for 2 sun beds all day and this would be my recommendation if you don't want someone sitting on top of you. I like an array of food and can eat at Michelin star restaurants and McDonald's alike so the one thing I will say about this hotel is that the food is very nice and there is plenty to choose from.
The staff were friendly enough but for me, being in my early 30s I would not stay here again. It was full of much older people, to the extent that they Had a mobility scooter charging area in the reception area.
Disappointed with what could be an amazing hotel in a great location!

Almost walked out after 5 minutes of being there as the Receptionist who i checked in with was so rude but as they say that one bad apple should not spoil the whole bunch. Rest of the stay was just excellent and really could not fault any one else or any aspect of this Holiday.
It was my Birthday whilst we were there and as a surprise had a bottle of champagne and fresh fruit delivered to my room and the waiters even sang \"Happy Birthday\" Totally unexpected but greatfully enjoyed

The hotel was very good. The hotel was booked on all inclusive basis but when arrived was told that room safe and drinks not included. On the day of departure requested the room until later but advised not possible. It appears other people got a room
Not sure what the problem was. The food was superb as was the facilities of the hotel.

great hotel

i have stayed in san antonio many times its near the beach in quite area food is excellant most of the staff are friendly some could do with lesson in manners but sure you get that in all walks of life hope to be back again real soon

Very disappointing - not a 4star

Having had this hotel recommended to me I decided to stay. I had previously stayed in Los Jameous Playa and the Fariones hotel and they are much nicer. The food in hotel was not 4star quality. We were sticking to the carpet in the dining room. Overall very dated. We witnessed lots of complaints. This hotel does not deserve 4star rating. If you are looking for all inclusive I would recommend Los Jameous Playa their food is amazing, If you are looking for location then the Fariones Hotel is great.

First time to stay in this hotel only 10 minutes from the airport it's close to shops restaurants,though if you booked half board like we did you probably won't need to go there,hope to return .

Great location, nice hotel, helpful friendly staff

I was travelling solo for 5 nights and had a 2nd floor double room with a sea & pool view from the balcony. The reception staff were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble whenever you spoke to them (a real credit to the hotel). I was half board so had breakfast & dinner in the buffet restaurant included. There was a lot of choice, with specials such as Chinese or Indian each night - it was generally very good. Evening entertainment started at 8pm with a duo singing, with a show at 10pm (tribute acts, dancers) for an hour - the bar/lounge was always full. When I went in October there was a mix of ages, but skewed to the older age groups, but everyone seemed to get on well. No one cared I was on my own and I noticed several other solo travellers were staying there. I spent a couple of days by one of the pools, there were plenty of sunbeds and a pool side bar for drinks & snacks. The hotel is in a great location 10-15 mins from the airport and right on the beach front. It's at the end of \"The Strip\" with a selection of bars and places to eat close by and a better selection if you keep walking along the seafront, which was well lit and felt safe even late at night. Whilst the hotel entertainment was okay I enjoyed the bars along the strip more, and chose from plenty with live music which suited me. I had a couple of minor issues with the room, but reception sorted them without fuss. On the whole this was a great choice and I would definitely stay here again.

Relax, Relax, relax.....

Spent a wonderful relaxing week at Vik San Antonio.
The Hotel is ideally situated at the beginning (or end depending on how you look at it) of the strip so away from the hustle and bustle, but easy walking distance, and is in close proximity to the airport (20mins roughly, but not bothered by sound of planes) so taxi fares aren't too high, roughly €15 - €20.
My mum loved the evening entertainment every night.
The real plus point is that the hotel sits right on the beach.
Overall great Holiday would highly recommend.

Feel that the hotel good do with a bit of a freshen up. We have stayed here alot of times over the last 12 years, brought family here and had great times, but the hotel could do with a lift, not a 4 star when it comes to the pool side or the rooms.

Good hotel but now dated and needs upgrade. Staff were fantastic and food good.

Don't expect Worldclass gym....it's very poor however both pools are excellent

I only stayed got one night and I found the staff a little unfriendly especially in the restaurant . The hotel decor was clean but old fashioned. Good was lovely with a wide selection.

Ok for the money

A bit of a dated facility.
More hidden charges than I expected in room safe has to be hired, the fridge (not mini bar) has to hired, kettle and crockery has to be hired. I'll assume with these additional charges the hotel experiences a lot of theft or damage from patrons?

Always wanted to stay here !

Great Hotel. Really pleased with our view of the sea from our room , we had a side view of the sea, low floor, but great.
Food really good but as a youngish married couple in our early 50's we felt having the fulll board restricted us from going out at night as we usually would have done in Lanzerotte, as it was easier just to stay and enjoy the entertainment.
If I had been there with my Mother who just likes to relax, I would have no hesitation to going Full Board again.
At dinner/ Lunch we thought the wine prices were very affordable with specials on every night.

Great if you're old

We were about 35 years younger than the average punter here.

Nice location on the beach, near a very tacky run of shops and restaurants. Was quiet, plenty of activities there if you wanted to partake. Good food, terrible wine list.

Excellent hotel on the beach, (literally)

This was the 8th time we stayed at the San Antonio, this time with the in-laws and mum-in-law can be very picky especially with regard to cleanliness. She couldn't find anything and remarked on how friendly and helpful the staff are.
My better half and I will be staying again, probably with the in-laws (not yet sure if that's a good or a bad thing!).

Nice quiet hotel at the end of the strip.

A large hotel at the end of the strip of bars and restaurants in Playa del Carmen. This hotel was mainly frequented by the over 55's. Rooms were a little tired in terms of decor, but nevertheless were comfortable and quiet. Food was average, with large buffet style for breakfast and dinner. Plenty of choice but I found the quality pretty poor, so preferred to have dinner outside of the hotel.

I only stayed here for one week, but will probably be returning later this year.
I usually stay in a different hotel further down the front but from now on I'll probably be staying here. Not an outstanding hotel but extremely good value for money.
All facilities were in good working order and all kept very clean.

Okay hotel stuck in the past.

The hotel is clean, is close to the airport, and easy to find. It is right on the beach front and has two adult pools and one child's pool, tennis courts and well kept gardens but I wouldn't stay there again.

Upon arrival we were not welcomed but told to fill in a form for our room and then leave the luggage for the staff to take. She didn't say where to leave them so we took them to our rooms. I'm sorry but I'm not just going to leave my luggage in the middle of the lobby.
We were given key cards to our 'sea view'. Perhaps 20 years ago it was a sea view but today it's blocked by Palm trees and buildings.
There was no information about anything and when we went down to ask about breakfast was rudely told it was on the back of the key card. It's a good job I have good eyesight and can read the tiny print. Also you have to pay to have the minibar switched on... And then extra for anything inside.
Rooms were kept clean but cleaners would be in there as early as 8:30 ... I'd advise anyone to put their 'do not disturb' signs on the door.
Breakfast had a good selection of food but again the staff were rude, unhelpful and just wanted you out so they could clear up. Even though they serve breakfast until 10:30, they start clearing away the food as early as 10.
The pool was clean and regularly tested but the bar staff were rude. And reserve your sun bed at 8am with your towel if you want one.

Overall it was okay but I would not go there again and it's not 4*
