Great location, safe parking, friendly staff, comfortable bed, kettle in room and functioning AC. Had to knock a star off for the poorly designed bathroom; it’s small, but that isn’t the problem. Someone thought it was a good idea to include a very deep bath (why? A walk in shower in a 2x2m room makes far more sense) and an oversized sink (again, why? Small room, small sink, surely?!) and a toilet that is too far from the wall at the back but too close to the wall on one side (5cm!); the toilet is about 20cm from the sink… awkward. Just book carefully if you’re infirm or disabled, this bathroom will not work for everyone.

It was a nice, mid-range hotel. The parking is a major asset. The beds weren't especially comfortable and there were issues with the thermostat - it was either boiling hot or freezing, regardless of how it was set.

The car park was small and we had to pre-book a space. The staff were very helpful. The hotel facilities are limited but perfectly adequate, with a good breakfast offer and a small bar for a late drink. The location is in the very centre of the city close to the river, shopping and restaurants.

We arrived around 11:30pm after a full days travel to get there. 1st room assigned was too difficult to get to with all of our luggage, so they assigned a different room and this is where the nightmare began. I will not be graphic but when I pulled back the cover, it was apparent the be had been really used and not changed. What we saw was so gross that it made my husband and I sick. We called the front desk and they subsequently showed us 5 different rooms on the 3rd floor - ALL HAD THE SAME NASTY ISSUE AND THE BEDS HAS CLEARLY NOT BEEN CHANGED - it was so nasty! By the 6th try (and 2am), I asked the front desk person to please go and check the room 1st before having me come along. I was really disgusted. It was 2am before they finally found a sanitary room for us. It was too late to find another hotel! The 6th room was okay but my husband and I slept on top of the covers after what we saw. I was so disgusted that I didn’t fall asleep until 4am and when we checked out the next day, this hotel comped the parking and pet fee.!!! I explained this isn’t about the money. I said, how can the entire 3rd floor have such unsanitary beds- apparently your housekeeping staff on this floor isn’t doing their jobs - just how gross. We will NEVER EVER return to that property and if it is owned as part of a franchise who cares about their reputation, Accord Group needs to follow up, rectify the unsanitary practices, or completely shut them down! Just eeeeeeeuiuuuuuuhhhhhh!

My wife and I stayed one night in the Mercure Nancy Centre Place Stanislas on our way to Switzerland.

But let’s start with the good features. Its position close to the city centre makes it ideal for a city stopover. It’s just a short walk to Place Stanislas and all the restaurants and sights. The other great facility is the car parking: it has its own underground park right opposite the hotel side entrance. The rest was pretty poor. The feature that appalled my wife was that the toilet was in a room so small that it was impossible – and I do mean literally impossible – to sit on it and close the door! The hotel management must know this and yet they go on letting this room. That complacency is unforgivable.

Checkin was curious. It involved a long process conducted by a cheerful but apparently quite untrained person perched on the end of a table with a laptop. How come? The Mercure have a professional reservation system so what was this chap using? He also had a queue of annoyed people waiting to check in behind me. Eventually he walked me across to the lift and configured my room key using a gadget on the wall at the foot of the stairs. Crazy!

The breakfast restaurant is too small for the capacity of the hotel. The choice was fine but It soon filled up and although two people were busy replenishing the servery, no one was on hand to supervise the situation.

It seems there’s something very odd going on at this Mercure. We cancelled our return stopover

Avoid room 217 unless travelling alone,

Very good location for exploring Nancy. Breakfast was good. Everywhere looked clean.
Room 217 not really suitable for more than 1 person. The en-suite toilet enclosure was so small it was virtually impossible to use. Be careful not to bang your head in separate shower room. Fridge door hits end of bed and so doesn’t open fully and you have to squeeze past one another to move around the room.
Check in was from 2pm but our friend’s room was not ready at 3.30p.m and the heating did not work in their room. However their room was spacious and comfortable with traditional en suite facilities.
We had already been told that the hotel was full so knew we could not move rooms. If we had been staying for longer than one night we would have checked out early if we could not have moved to a better room.
We had just spent 3 nights in 2 other Mercure hotels which had been good so very disappointed with our stay here.

Small room, no place for a suitcase. Tiny bathroom.Erratic plumbing. Name is deceptive: it is not on the square, it is on a noisy narrow side street, difficult to get in or out of a car. Watch out for over-billing, they will charge for breakfast whether you take it or not. Good points: bottled water, slippers, madeleines.

Not enought from an Accor Hotels

Got an automatic reply in regards of the parking situation stating that the parking was available on site.
The problem was that they didn't bother to say that the parking is on a first come first serve base.
Long story short, they know the truth but they just wanna up-sale the rooms by stating that the hotel have parking spaces available.
Another problem we had was the fact that they charged taxes by deducting it without authorisation with the card provided for giving the deposit.
Overall the room was clean and tidy, i will maybe just point out the fact that they are using obsolete TV in the rooms but over than that everything was alright

The location is great -- about 3 minutes walk from the Place Stanislas and a bunch of restaurants. The parking is on-site (well next door). The hotel includes double windows (like at an airport hotel) curling the street noise to a minimum. The only thing not so great was the buffet -- while it was a full buffet -- it did not include silverware or new plates!!! Ok, I understand that Covid is still around, but not providing clean plates is a little strange! Looking forward to stay at this hotel, but post-Covid!!!

Perfect location, which at Christmas led to it being a nightmare to actually get there in traffic, but that’s not the hotels fault. The hotel parking was next door which was perfect, and not too expensive by Euro city standards. All staff were very nice and the room had everything we needed.

This is not a 4 star hotel!! This hotel is more like a cheap budget travel hotel. Air conditioning broken, room so small you could hardly walk round the bed. The toilet was so small there was not enough room to close the door when using it. The other touch of 4 star luxury was the paper cups in your room for your coffee. The breakfast was OK but not great..The only positive was the location and car parking.The owners should be ashamed of their customer service and offering.

The hotel is well located in central Nancy, about a 10-minute walk from the railway station, and 5-minute walk into the main square.

Our bedroom was fine. However the bathroom we had was very cramped: you could barely sit down on the toilet due to the its proximity to a huge hand basin, which was out of proportion to the bathroom space.

The hotel asked for a credit card to take a 100 Euros deposit as up front payment on a pre-authorisation basis. However, I gave them my Revolut card, which proved a mistake, as the 100 Euros was immediately taken out as a payment. Despite having shown the receptionist on the desk at the time, and on departure, that the money had been taken out of my account, as was clearly evident on the App on the my phone, they refused to refund the money when we left. Cancelling the so-called pre-authorisation was no help.

So I'm left trying to resolve this with Revolut on my return home, and this hasn't proved straightforward.

Charming, comfortable hotel in the heart of Nancy.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the at this hotel. The location is great - just 2 blocks from Stanislas square - the historic, heart of Nancy (a UNESCO heritage site). The decor of the rooms and the hotel is very attractive - modern and bright. And the service was very friendly and helpful. We had a privledge room, which provided extra amenities. The room was not large, but had all the essentials. The bed in our room was large and very comfortable. As an example of the great service provided - the weather turned a little chilly and the hotel hadn’t turn the heat on yet, but the staff brought us a space heater, so that we stayed warm and cozy. The hotel does have parking (for a fee). The spaces are narrow, so we found it a bit hard to navigate. But once we parked the car, we didn’t have to move it again until we departed.

1 Night at Nancy for the Light show

The hotel was just 5 minutes walk to Place Stanlais and it was very handy to walk back after the Nancy Light show at 11pm in the night. It felt safe for us as a family. The room decor was really good but a better colour option would make it appreciable even more better. The service was really and a parking garage next door is really handy.

Pleasant staff and a clean and well equipped room. Secure garaging on site. It took us a while to find the hotel thanks to Nancy’s confusing one way system for traffic. Try L’Execlsior for dinner - not cheap but a wonderful building and excellent food.

Weather was really hot outside, but AC worked really well in the room. The common areas were a little dirty and could do with a good clean and hoover. Room was spotless though, so cannot fault it there. Teas and coffees provided in room. Bed was comfortable, with a choice of pillows.

The location of the hotel is amazing..close to everything. However, being in other Mercure Hotels around the country, i have to say that the rooms are very small compared to others. The staff were very friendly and gave us help when needed. Overall the stay was pleasant, however the mercure chain need to upgrade this one to match the rest of their hotels.

Pleasant hotel in a good area

Was a bit mislead from the photographs, this hotel is not on the square but it is nearby. Staff were very nice, but limited English (lucky I had enough French and we managed). Room was good, clean, however, décor a bit dated, particularly the bathroom. Husband raved about the pillow, that he went and bought one (foam memory). Would stay here again. Breakfast a bit steep at 16.50 euro, so we opted out. Still, would recommend this hotel.

Sejour touristique de 3 nuits.
Hôtel tres bien situé.
Personnel agréable.
Probleme technique pour avoir une seconde carte de chambre.
Gros problème d insonorisation de la chambre. On entend tous les bruits exterieurs ( clients qui.ne sont pas discrets a 2h du matin et qui restent devant l entrée arriere de l hotel) et bruits interieurs (escaliers).
Salle de bain de petite taille avec une baignoire très haute donc pas facile d acces pour une senior.
Tres bonne literie.
Dommage pas de mini bar.

L’hôtel est bien placé bien que non sur la place Stanislas même comme peuvent le laisser penser les photos.
En revanche il n’a rien d’un 4 étoiles : chambres très petites, toilettes dont on peine à fermer la porte lorsque l’on est à l’intérieur par manque d’espace, douche minuscule dans laquelle il faut baisser la tête car le plafonnier est trop bas, lit petit, peinture craquelée, ascenseur vieux, etc.
