A modem and clean hotel, in the upmarket Oberkastle area of Dusseldorf. The room on the 6 floor had a good city view, was a good size. Bed was very comfy. There’s even a Kamps cafe right next door with delicious breads and pastries. Only two drawbacks: no free drinking water after the first night, and nothing English on TV except the news. Good for a short business or leisure stay.

Had an infestation of bugs in the room with 5 of these guys coming out in one night. No offer of alternative room and no apology. Got no sleep which is not what you want from a hotel. Really disappointing experience

Nice hotel close to where I needed to go and the Mercure did not disappoint. A bit tired in decor, it was clean, quiet and comfortable. As a big bonus, the superior rooms come with a stocked, free minibar! The only downside was the welcome at reception (busy counting money, too busy to greet) but as a whole, what you get for your money is spot on.

Comfortable hotel, with nice bar area and decent food (burger is particularity nice). The staff were pleasant and helpful. The water in the shower kept going cold, then hot, then cold again.. bit weird... WiFi needs improvement..I didn't like the look of the sauna/fitness room area (most German sauna and steam-room are clothing optional, which is not my cup of tea)

If you're visiting the Messe (as we were), this is a good compromise between cost and convenience. Only half an hour by excellent public transport and the 'wrong' side of the river, it is very good value, and an excellent hotel. A relaxing place to lay your head, and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. For the tourist. it's less than 20 minutes to the city centre, and sitting within 5 minutes walk of two U-bahn lines it has great connections.

Everything was excellent and I would happily stay in this hotel again. The staff were friendly and the room was a decent standard. The location is perfect as you access the city center within 10-15 minutes via tram (without having to deal with the noise of actually being in the city center). The surrounding area is very safe and the nearby district Oberkassel is very nice. The hotel breakfast was excellent (which is something I can rarely say).

Nice hotel for business trip

I was on a business trip for 3 nights, the hotel itself is lovely, good food, clean etc but its not in the city, you can take a taxi costing approx. €20 or take the tram but be careful of the tram as you cant buy a ticket at the closest stop or on the tram itself! You can buy a 24hour pass for approx. €7 in the station in the city but you have to get there first.

My stay was good. Room was clean and spacious enough for a few days stay. Complimentary wi-fi was good. Breakfast was adequate (extra cost).
Not many options to eat near by, but there is a pizza place called Tele Pizza near by and a Chinese and a Japanese restaurant near by too.

(Cost Euro 2.60. Select Category A - covers most of Düsseldorf for a single Trip.)
- From Düsseldorf Airport. Take a shuttle sky bus to the airport station and reach Düsseldorf HBF
- From Düsseldorf HBF take (74,76,77 . Use the MacDonald exit to the platform.) to tram stations close to the hotel. If your taking 74 and 76 get down at Prinzenallee U and if you are taking 77 get down at the terminal station .

Taxi
- Outside the airport is a taxi stand. Inform the Hotel name and say its at Seestern. Should cost you between Euro 23 to 28 (depending on traffic)

Business trip for an exhibition. Good for getting anywhere. Town 15 € taxi Airport 20€, Exhibition 13€. Reception were brilliant, totally professional and the best I have seen in a long time of business travel. Rooms were big and the beds to Mercure Standards always good. Hotel was getting a little on the used side. The only thing that let the hotel down is the selection in the restaurant, there are not many good ones close by. There is a good Italian close by and the only one I would recommend. Ask the reception they will guide you.

Messe hotel in Dusseldorf I can recommend it.

Great location for everything within a 10 minute taxi drive Airport, Centre, Messe. The reception personnel were brilliant and had a smile that lightens the day. Well trained, professional helpful and appear to enjoy being there. Language skills excellent.

Let down Breakfast, and limited menu at the restaurant, the breakfast like a holiday camp and the restaurant limited to junk food. But there are lots of nice places to eat in Dusseldorf. Recommend the Italian close to the Hotel 5 minute Walk.

Good points an internet that really works, not always a case in Germany and big hotels.

It was a one night stay to attend a business meeting the following morning. The hotel was walking distance from the office but not very far away from the city center. The staff were very helpful.

The best part was, when I received a call from the reception staff to check if everything was ok with my room and not to hesitate to call them if I required anything at all.

What we were looking for except...

We were in town for a wedding and booked purely based on location in regards to the reception location. The room was spacious, but we had just stayed in London, so perhaps that is an exaggeration. The room was nice and clean. The mattress wasn't the greatest, but good enough for our 4 night stay. My only legitimate complaint was the lack of working air conditioning. We had it turned on, but it never worked during stay. This wouldn't be an issue for about 9 months out of the year, but it was well over 80 degrees each day we stayed. This made it difficult to fall asleep much less be comfortable. We are from Ohio, which has pretty much the same weather, to provide a little context.

The service was very good. We asked for an iron/board and while it didn't arrive as quickly as we would have liked, we could have asked for it much earlier and forgot. On the flip side we were able to leave our bags at the hotel after checking out since we had a night train to take and wanted to stick around the area a little longer.

Nicely locatedm, but expensive for Eurovision

Nice hotel, good location alongside the autobahn. There is secure parking and with a tram stop right outside, it couldn't be more convenient. We stayed during the Eurovision Song Contest at the nearby stadium, the staff were friendly and helpful.

The only drawback was the price. Probably because it was Eurovision weekend, this was the most expensive hotel room I have stayed in, ever. Still, very pleased with the hotel and the whole experience.

The hotel is located in a quite neighborhood. The train station is very close to the hotel. The breakfast is excellant. The air condition was not working properly. The parking fee is unexceptable. If you park more than six hours, you have to pay 15 euros. I still could not able to figure out their parking fee algorithm. I have to pay 30 euros per day for two days. When I complained about the parking, they said they leased it to a parking company. The rooms are prety big with a stove. You have to pay each call you make from the hotel. It does not matter if it is local or long distance. Internet is not free, but you can use a free computer at the cafateria floor. If you travel from USA, make sure you take adapter for charging camera. They have different types of plugs.

I was delayed because of weather and my prepaid room was available when I arrived. The quality of the pillows need to be improved - too soft and a larger comforter would have been appreciated. Breakfast is quite good - large selection of breads, juices, fruits, meats, cheese & hot items.

Zimmer sind gross, Leider Bettdecken synthetisch und daher kein gutes Schlafklima. Zimmerreinigung mangelhaft. Eine auf den Boden gefallene Tablette lag nach Tagen noch da. Dafür wurde die eigene mitgebrachte 500ml-Flasche Bodylotion entsorgt. Es gibt pro 10-tägigen Aufenthalt 1 einzige Wasserflasche! Leere Weingläser aus dem hoteleigenen Restaurant werden nicht weggeräumt - selbst wenn drei leere Weingläser da stehen. Dafür steht überall Service, hoher Standard etc.angeschrieben. Lieber liefern statt anschreiben. Für rund 90 Sitzplätze im Frühstücksraum nur eine Kaffemaschine, was zu langen Schlangen und Wartezeiten führt. Das Brot am Sonntag war vom Vortag. Das Restaurant hatte am ersten Abend auf der Weinkarte Roja, am zweiten Abend war der aus. Begründung: Weinangebot wird verändert. Dann gab es einen Bordeaux - am nächsten Abend auch aus! gleiche Begründung, dieses Spiel drei Mal! Zum Salat im Restaurant gibt es nur trockene Brötchen auf ausdrückliche Nachfrage. Preis-Leistung stimmt weder im Hotel noch im Restaurant.

Unsere Zimmer wurde nicht täglich gereinigt.
Klimaanlage war zu schwach und zu laut, sodass wir und Kinder nicht durch schlaffen konnten.

Great hotel. Good parking. Parking was a bit tight when driving an SUV down the ramp. Good space down in garage though. Great beds! Had an excelent nights sleep. 10/10 would book again.
