Unfortunately, the fitness facility was out of commission which was important to me. The staff was adequate but not exceptional... just not very warm or overly helpful, but that may just be the German culture. Great location... beautiful market across the street, shopping, sightseeing, and food all very walkable. No A/C.

This is an excellent location to the river and old city along with luxury shopping. Amazing location. The amenities are great but no treadmill in the gym….its ok though as dusseldorf is a perfect city to run outside. Nice bar and breakfast restaurant too.

Not a comfortable room

Was uncomfortable sue to the room being so hot. They took out the thermostat to cool off the room.

On top of it being hard to sleep because of the heat the Maids are impatient and wont let you sleep in the morning so they can get into the room.

What a beautiful hotel, and how beautiful is Düsseldorf😍. The hotel was easy to find, car park is next to it, our room was wonderful, and all of the staff were so kind and polite.

Düsseldorf really does show off a rich German history, beautiful buildings, and such a vibrant night light life. I'm told over 300 bars😲

Breakfast here was amazing, the bar was lovely for having a drink before we went out. Overall a wonderful hotel and one we can't wait to visit again. Thank you for having us.

Lovely situated hotel with a great breakfast and excellent service but the air conditioning didn't work on the hottest week of the year, so sleeping in particular was incredibly uncomfortable - when I complained I received a decent discount, but I was told it had been broken since it was switched on earlier in the year. If I had been informed I would have changed my booking.

Dusseldorf Euros !!

Very nice hotel - clean and very friendly helpful staff. Breakfast was good and the location is superb. Two major issues - NO AC - super warm in the rooms and we had to ask nicely for 2 fans which were helpful but did not stop the room being really warm and muggy. The shower was great pressure but the construct is ridiculous with a glass door that is not flush with the bath so you cannot face the water at the door or you flood the bathroom ! We know !!! Overall recommend the hotel if it's not too hot otherwise bring a fan ! Staff great and location is the best !!

A few things to keep in mind when booking this hotel, in the winter the AC does not work and it just gets insanely hot in the rooms and you can do nothing about it. Also the breakfast is expensive considering you’re getting a Hilton continental breakfast American style. Hotel is 5/10

Great hotel in a perfect location

The hotel was selected for the location near the old town and it was an excellent choice. The bedroom and bathroom was large an comfortable with an exceptionally comfortable bed.

I had breakfast before leaving which was good value with hot and cold choices available.

From the minute I checked in the customer care was perfect, staff were friendly, professional and obliging at reception and the waitress at breakfast. Thanks also to Kim at the reception desk for her exemplary manner and help.

Unflexible.

No Refund means no refund. Was grounded by Cardiologist after receiving stents. Missed first tradeshow since 1998. Just couldn't accomidate me. They Blamed Hotels.com for not being accomodating. Wonder what Hotels.com would say. Any guesses?

We loved Das Carl's! The perfect location, in the center of the city. Right in Carlsplatz with local vendors and a market open every day! Close to Alstadt and also all the shops in Königsallee! Our room was lovely. The open window to Carlsplatz was a plus!

Great location: in the heart of the Old Town and next to the Market.
As nice as that is in the day time- evenings were very loud and you needed the window open. If you have a room facing the street, be prepared for loud voices until the wee hours of the morning.

This hotel is a gem! The location is excellent in the heart of old town and right across the freshest day market.
As for the hotel itself, it is a very nice clean boutique hotel. What makes it exceptionally great is the service and the professional staff. Each and every staff member is knowledgeable, friendly and very service oriented. This time it was a quick trip, but for future trips, this will be THE PLACE for myself and family.

The Staff were not helpful at all and we were made to feel unwelcome. The bar / lounge has no bartender and you have to ask for a drink at reception. The wonderful range of snacks suggested on the website don't exist. We had to ask for peanuts. (served in a whiskey glass). When they got the order wrong it was seen as our fault. No customer focus whatsoever. They don't care about the guests!

Everything about the hotel and staff are lovely, friendly, nice breakfast in a nice open dining area, sumptuously furnished.

The only downsides are
1. Only option was to pay in advance for rooms with no ability to cancel, even one of the two rooms booked. Breakfast was not included. So be absolutely sure of your dates and rooms required before booking, you will pay in full for everything you book, whether you use it or not.
2. I booked a large single bed room, recent refurbished. The room was nicely furnished but the single duvet did not reach the sides of the bed. I would have expected a larger duvet.

A very good place to start

This is for us the best place to stay.In the Old town with all the bars and restaurants. Shopping nearby and you can easily return the full bags to your room. Everything is always very close.
Clean and quiet. Very very friendly staff. And very good breakfast. We already stayed twice and will come again next time . Since Duesseldorf has avery good public transportation, you can reach many places in town or around, like Cologne .

It is not possible to adjust temperature in the room unless you open the window.oatly comfortable until the middle of the night then it got very hot and we had to open the window. Such a great location! Close to Christmas markets and great food stalls at Carlsplatz. Only wish the Carlsplatz food stalls (and general German retail) would be open on Sundays. Liked the Nespresso machine in the room and bed was comfy. Ground floor room had some noise from the kitchen as they were making breakfast in the morning, but not too bad and only a real issue if you are a late sleeper.

Wonderful hotel near the Christmas market

I had a wonderful stay! The staff at the reception are nice & very helpful. The room was spacious & clean. It’s conveniently located near the christmas market and few minutes to Königsallee as well.

I stay in Dusseldorf often for business, and I must say this is the best hotel I've stayed in yet. The location is perfect! It is just minutes from the old town, easily accessible for restaurants, shops, and the like, and also a few metres to the river.
Despite being so central, it's readily accessible from the highways, and takes no time to arrive with driving in minimal traffic. There's a parking garage next door, and the hotel has special parking rates, which is perfect.
The hotel is comfortable, with relatively spacious rooms, very fast internet, and decent amenities. I couldn't get my air conditioner to work, but opening a window did the trick. The bathroom was spacious, and most importantly, the shower was plenty big enough... not smaller than my shoe like in so many European hotels.
Breakfast was good with lots of options. There's no bar or restaurant, but this is not necessary being so close to the Alt Stadt.
It was a very pleasant stay, and I think now I have found my permanent hotel in Dusseldorf.

Just go there

Could not get a better hotel, just 4 minutes walk from Altstadt.
Good service and friendly staff. Nice and clean.

A little Dusseldorf treasure

Great hotel, great staff, great location, good building and great value. The only observation (it is hard to criticise such friendly and helpful hotel) is for Air Conditioning - it made the otherwise nice rooms a little bit stuffy.

Room was small and there was a stale smell in the room which lingered the whole time. The AC unit wasn’t adequate enough which made the situation worse. However, the room was very clean, Nespresso machine was a nice touch and location is perfect.

Hotel smelled funny, like cigar.
There was no elevator.
They´re were doing renovations and the noise was terrible
You can hear a lot of noise from street, specially from cars passing next to the hotel.
