Great base to explore the town centre and Altstadt on foot.
The room was great for 1 person, might be a little cramped for a couple for more than 1 night. Coffee or a kettle in the room would be a good edition. I was a little disappointed in the bread/pastry selection at breakfast.
Room was good value for money and I would definitely stay here again in the future.

We had an excellent experience staying at The Fritz . Great room - spacious and comfortable, spotlessly clean and the staff were really nice and always helpful. Breakfast was also excellent and served in a lovely area - the whole hotel has a good atmosphere. It’s in a quiet street but everywhere is very accessible for walking to. Highly recommended.

Rarely give reviews but happy to in this case. The Fritz is a lovely hotel. Roughly a 15 minute walk to the main station, and about 10 minutes to the central area of Dussuldorf, we found it was an ideal location that meant we didn't feel the need to use public transport at all. The room was large and spotlessly clean, and we agreed that the shower was the best we had ever used! The breakfast offered plenty of choice (although no fried/grill options) and was all beautifully presented. The restaurant is Michelin starred for those looking for fine dining in the evening. Would definitely make this a first choice if I was to return to Dusseldorf.

Great hotel with a few fixable issues

Very nice room on a quieter street close to downtown. There was a strange smell throughout the public hallways and elevator, and a bit in the room; upon questioning the receptionist we were told it’s from the grease trap in the basement, which was scheduled to be emptied in a few days... strongly recommend emptying it more often! Also, the bathroom light is on a motion sensor, so going there or even moving around the room will set off a bright light at night. A switch to disable this would be nice. Otherwise a great room for an affordable price. Minibar is included, which I have never experienced, much appreciated!

Great Boutique Hotel

Came for a couples city break and a bit of Christmas Market action and found a little gem of a boutique hotel. Well located and of a lovely interior design with little design aspects which go to create a really lovely hotel in both the public and private spaces.

Rooms are modern, airy and unique. The auto light in the bathroom is a touch odd at the start but the free mini bar with a lovely beer is a nice change from the usual. Did get a little drain smell for the first evening, but was gone by morning, so clearly a passing issue.

Service was great and very polite. The breakfast chef did however look bored so be kind, ask him/her for some eggs if you do stay, as they are pretty great!

Apparently the restaurant is great for dinner, but we couldn't get in whilst we were there as they had some special events on. Next time eh.

Overall, lovely place to stay and can't see why you would stay anywhere else.

The male hotel clerk was rude from the start. Would not let us park in hotel area to unload luggages. Could not suggest a restaurant if his life depended on it. Also, the entire hotel smelled of mould or something else nasty. Would not recommend.

Perfect boutique hotel that’s not over priced.

Great location, really stylish boutique hotel. This is a small hotel so the bar and dining area was small and there was not masses of communal space. However what was there was stylish and enjoyable. The bedroom, again quite small, was appointed really cleverly and sparking clean. It didn’t feel cramped at all. I would definite recommend staying here for a few nights if you are visiting the city. Nice staff too...

The only slight niggle was there are no tea / coffeee making facilities in the room but I think this may be standard for Continental hotels.

Could have been a 4 if rooms were larger and bath had a solid wall. This is a quirky hotel; the website accurately describes the place, so not a surprise. On the plus side, the staff was friendly and helpful, the beds are comfortable, and the air conditioning is very effective. We slept well, but there’s not much room to maneuver. Located just around the corner from the tram, U-Bahn and grocery. It’s less than a mile from the main train station, but take the tram to avoid passing thru the seedy area around the station.

Lovely stay the Fritz. They gave us the biggest room and lots of attention! It’s a swish establishment. Gorgeous beds in the room. Although my partner didn’t like the semi see-through shower and toilet; there’s next to no privacy. Breakfast was great with lots of options and the Moroccan woman on duty was super friendly and helpful. The hotel is within walking distance of main train station, u-Bahn, Rheinturm, the old quarter and the shops.

We were told they’re smaller than an entree, but larger than a typical appetizer. Not so! The portions were laughably small.

The hotel looked brand new, everything with clean, really cute/trendy reception area and resturant and the staff were very friendly. I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend to anyone going to Dusseldorf.

Nice hotel in a quiet part of the city. Excellent staff and breakfast service. Easy walking distance to the Ko and Old Town. Rooms are small by American standards, so I recommend that travelers not bring large suitcases or expect to find large closets or places to store clothing. The bathroom, while chic and modern, is especially small. Two walls are smoky glass with an embossed motif. While stylish, the design affords little privacy. If one gets up in the night, there is no way to avoid waking the other. Still, the staff more than makes up for this minor inconvenience. They were among some of the most welcoming people we met during our stay in Germany.

Great hotel, the room was very spacious and the service excellent. I asked for an iron and it got delivered 5 minutes later, the bar staff was also very friendly.
Good bathroom in a block within the room.
A few nice restaurants around and main businesses are also there if that's for a business trip.
Free minibar, that was a first.
I will definitively come back if I have another meeting around

Appearance is fine and it is clean and rooms are a good size, but the beds were really hard. Also although the walls of the bathroom are stylish to look at, the bathroom light will in fact light the whole room if it is used in the middle of the night, thus disturbing your partner. The lobby area and lift had a whiff of drains about them throughout our stay which was off-putting, Restaurant has great food.

I have stayed there on a 2 day business trip and quite like it. I can quite call it a design hotel with unique details. Mini bar was not very rich but being free gives a very welcoming feeling. The breakfast nice and chic. Location is very good. Just 5 minutes of walking to the high end shopping district. Definetly recommend it.

Stayed on business, felt like vacation

I stayed at the Fritz for 2 nights during a quick business trip earlier this year – but I wish I could have stayed longer. Having opened less than a year ago, the hotel is still in nearly mint condition. The interiors are tastefully and delightfully designed, with astonishing attention to detail. The staff is friendly and attentive (thanks, Sarah!). And in terms of location, I’m not sure you can do much better: The Fritz is located just across the street from The Königsallee, and not much farther from the Aldstadt and Rhine River.

Where we might otherwise avoid hotel restaurants, my colleague and I had no problem staying in for dinner at Fritz’s Frau Franzi – the menu and food are excellent. And I thought I was still dreaming the following morning when I saw the impressive breakfast spread (my only advice is to leave enough time to really savour the breakfast, rather than rushing to the airport like I did)!

Although I was traveling for work, staying at The Fritz made me feel like I was on vacation. Is there any higher praise?

Overall a nice hotel with a good restaurant. Room was quite modern, which also meant a counter instead of a table for sitting in the room. I didn't find this very convenient for working on my computer. Front desk staff very friendly but could use more knowledge on the city. Toiletries were limited to soap, shampoo, lotion), but the in-room bar was free.

On the negative side - being waked up at 8.10 in the morning due to housekeeping thinking it’s a good idea to star at vaccum clean the carpets in the corridor just outside our room (207). Front desk helped us to change room to (101) however in the very early morning when kitchen staff starts working - the noice gets up the staircase because the staircase door by front desk isn’t closed. So good ideas to stay higher up in the hotel. The bathroom lighting is problematic, it turns on automatically and the bathroom walls are all in glass - so when going in the night, it will bake up your partner, not ideal.

Positive - very good location, comfortable bed and linen, good shower, very good staff in front desk and breakfast service,

Grundsätzlich gut. Online-Checkin und Gepäckaufbewahrung haben gut funktioniert, auch wenn ich mich zu keiner Zeit mit einem Ausweis authentifiziert habe.

Folgende Punkte haben mir nicht gefallen, für eine Nacht konnte ich allerdings damit leben.

Im Taschentuchspender waren nur wenige Blätter.
Bei der Duschkabine gab es keine Tür, wodurch das Badezimmer und der Flurbereich beim Duschen überschwemmt wurden

Das Zimmer entspricht nicht mehr dem Anspruch des Hotels. Alles ist lose und defekt. Zimmer war nicht sauber bei der Ankunft. Badmüll voll, Kippen im Aschenbecher auf dem Balkon. Das Frühstück ist leider nur noch Mittelmaß. Nichts besonderes mehr. Wir waren bestimmt zum fünften Mal dort und bei jedem Aufenthalt wurde die Qualität und der Service schlechter. Man gibt sich keine Mühe mehr. Rezeption nur selten besetzt. Wir werden dieses Hotel nicht mehr buchen. LEIDER! Anfangs waren wir begeistert von dem liebevoll geführten Hotel. Leider nichts mehr davon übrig geblieben.
