Staff was very friendly and helpful, especially with the electronic check-in and the breakfast service. Room and bathroom were large by European standards. Beds were comfortable, although they might be a bit firm for some. The room was nicely decorated and was bright due to the windows on the exterior wall. The breakfast buffet was good with a good variety of choices. Elevator was small, but functional. The mini-refrigerator appeared to be just for show as it did not work. Also, the rooms were not air conditioned, but fans were provided and there is some street noise as you are in the middle of the city near restaurants. Overall it was a good value for the location - a short walk to the train station and a 15 minute walk to the Allstadt.

I arrived and entered my code to get in.

I went to my room and entered the code to enter. I entered the room and there were two undressed guests inside. They ran and slammed the door closed. I was traumatised.

Reception is unmanned during check-in hours so I called them. Got through to AI receptionist who would only speak German.

Eventually, after multiple calls, it switched to English, then transferred me to a human. The human gave me a different room number and code.

I went back up the stairs with my luggage, tried to enter that room, but the code was wrong. I went back down the 4 flights of stairs and called again, multiple times because the AI receptionist was ignoring my request to transfer to human.

Finally I was given a working code door, now traumatised and exhausted.

The room looked clean, but then I found a long black hair on my pillow case. This made me feel I'm sleeping on used, unwashed pillow cases. No one at reception and stupid AI phone service if I call, so nothing I could do.

Only two very thin pillows, no spare in the cupboard. Luckily, it was me alone, so I used both.

I paid for one double bed, but was now in two single beds.

There is no door on the bathroom due to the space, so expect smells to spread to the room unless you close the other bedroom door. The smell is still in your hallway.

Sound proofing is not good, woken up multiple times with people entering their codes and opening the lift door despite both my doors closed.

Brilliant location for Düsseldorf Central and the Messe exhibition hall, lovely room with free hot drinks (if you didn't want to sit for breakfast) and the lady at reception was fantastic at helping me retrieve my lost luggage from the airport. Would recommend!

A very basic hotel. A bit outdated, but everything is in good repair. The stuff was helpful and friendly. The stay had a personal feel to it. Like staying at someone’s place. I enjoyed it. The only thing I gave four stars is the bed. The mattress was very hard.

Good for value

Overall a decent hotel for short stay. The room itself is a bite dated but it is clean. The water pressure is a bit weak but considering the price i would say it is good for value and I cant complain. The reception lady is really kind and helpful, she is very patient and explained everything in details.

Visit to see Friends

I was in Germany to meet friends and choose to stay at this Hotel as I've stayed here before. The Hotel is ideally located for getting to The Alstadt, other nearby attractions and the Main Station.

The Staff at the Hotel are always very cheerie and willing to help you and this is a great reason for staying here.

Visit to see Old Friends

I came to visit friends and have stayed here many times before and as always I was greeted by the brilliant reception staff. I have enjoyed the spacious room and the quietness of the location which is near but far enough away from the main road not to be disturbed by traffic noise or late night revellers. I would thoroughly recommend this Hotel to anyone.

3. WiFi was terrible. I could not work at the hotel as planned. When I asked the receptionist I was advised “weather has caused the WiFi issue, and this is German WiFi”.

Visiting Friends in Duisburg and Bochum

I arrived at The Batavia around 4 pm on the Friday and was checked in immediately as I have stayed here before and was recognised by the staff. I would definitely recommend this Hotel to anyone travelling to Dusseldorf as The Staff are of the highest quality possible.

The Hotel is about 5 / 10 minutes walk from Dusseldorf HBF and about 15 minutes walk to The Alstadt Area where there are many great Bars and Restaurants.

The Area surrounding The Hotel is generally very quiet apart from a Weekend when it can be slightly busy due to nearby Hotels and Clubs being busy.

Overall I have not come across a better Hotel for the price.

This hotel is near the main train station and downtown area. Unfortunately the train station area isn't always the safest. There are many Asian places to dine at in this neighborhood. Staff was kind and helpful. Room was larger than expected for the price, but not all the bedding was clean (stains on pillow cases). The beds were VERY hard. I would stay here again for the price and location.

The Batavia was very comfortable and conveniently located near the old and historic part of the city, as well as close to subway stops and the main train station. Room was a nice size, especially for the price. We would stay there again if ever in Dusseldorf.

Sad to leave...

A nice spacious room, very comfortable. Breakfast was fine for the price. Close to some of the sights and not too far from the Rail station. Unfortunately we had to cut our stay short because of the German rail strike. Very disappointing as we didn't get to see a lot. Found some lovely little places to eat nearby and were very close to the \"shop til you drop\" area.

Our family of four had a nice stay at the Batavia Hotel. It's a small, basic hotel with clean rooms and beds. The rates were very reasonable. It's located right near a department store which makes it easy to buy food, clothes and gifts. It's a few minutes from the main Dusseldorf train station, so it's a great spot to stay if you need to get to the airport by train.

The Hotel Batavia had very welcome staff who were willing to help at any time. It was in a great location near to the central train station. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with modern bathroom and accessories. The breakfast was adequate but not luxurious, though as a veggie the breads, cakes and cheeses on offer as well as the cereals were goos. Meat options id not look as appetising.Overall a great hotel with lovely staff and would choose this hotel again for a lads getaway

Great place. little bit of everything

We stayed one night to celebrate a friend's birthday. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful with anything we needed. Hotel provided parking for 10 euro a day. The hotel is located within 2 minutes walking distance of a few restaurants, a shopping mall, and other shops. The cab ride to the main part of the city where the nightlife is at was only 5.50 euro for 3 people to split. Beds were most comfortable I have ever experienced in a hotel.

I am planning another trip for a weekend in Dusseldorf and will be staying at this hotel again. Great hotel at a great price.

I booked this hotel on the previous reviews but was very disappointed. I think the ownership must have changed since the last person reviewed this hotel. It felt more like going into a block of flats rather than a hotel. Our room was tidy but dusty, the carpet was dirty and the sink in the bathroom was cracked. We asked to change rooms and there was no trouble in doing this. The breakfast was basic continental not much choice and the room felt dark and dingy.
Overall the only thing going for this hotel was the location. Will not be going back.

Location is brilliant, close to Königsalle, trainstation, good places to eat and drink etc. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good, with a good choice of things to have. The also have a free internet service and the days papers to read.

Very clean and good value for money!!

The hotel was close to the Dusseldorf HBF train station.
From the train station entrance you turn left and a 5 minute walk was all it took to reach the hotel.
The hotel frontage was very bland and dated but once inside we found a friendly spotless clean hotel.
The breakfast consisted of cold meats, toast, cheeses and cereal. Tea, coffee and juice were also offered.
The room we stayed in (32) was quite spacious and had a good size and quality bathroom. Our room was made daily. We would definetly stay in this hotel again due to it's cleanliness and location both to the train station and old town (Altstadt).

Great Hotel near to the Railway Station

Hotel Batavia is around a 10 minute walk from the main station and within 10 minutes walk of the Altstadt which is the main bar and restaurant area in Dusseldorf. The hotel itself is in a quiet street off the main route through the city and has a small bar in the reception area. The rooms were immaculate and comfortable with excellent english speaking staff manning the front desk. In all an ideal choice for a few nights stay.

My family stayed at the Batavia for two nights during the first week of June, 2009. We were looking for a good balance between price and quality and found it at the Batavia. We booked two rooms and both were clean and pleasant. We drove to Dusseldorf from Amsterdam, and the Batavia had convenient, safe parking across the street from the hotel. The Batavia is about a 15-minute walk to Dusseldorf's Altstadt (Old Town), a destination no visitor to Dusseldorf would want to miss. The staff members were friendly and attentive. Breakfast in the dining room was excellent. If were ever return to Dusseldorf (hopefully!), we won't bother looking for another hotel.

Ich bevorzuge den Kontakt mit der Rezeption.
Das Zimmer war sauber und zweckmäßig.
Der Fernseher hat nur bedingt funktioniert.
Fernbedienung braucht wohl neue Batterie und die Senderauswahl war äußerst mangelhaft. Nichtmal Ard oder ZDF konnte man sehen.
Den Koffer konnte ich nach dem check-out auch nicht noch im Hotel lassen, da mein Zug erst um 17:00h ging.

Der Self Check Ins war eine absolute Katastrophe. Ich hatte keinen Code erhalten und war vor Ort erst gegen 22 Uhr, sodass ich mich über KI (die mir sagte, dass ich am nächsten Morgen wieder anrufen solle) und mehrere Telefonnummern durchtelefonieren musste, bis mir nach 45 Min endlich jemand den Code übermitteln konnte, sodass ich ins Hotel und Zimmer kam. Man würde meinen, dass man flexibel beim Check in wäre, aber das war bisher die schlimmste Erfahrung, die ich in einem Hotel gemacht habe. Noch dazu war das Bett hart und die Bettdecke als auch das Kopfkissen aus billigstem Polyester. Nach einem langen Tag mehr als frustrierend. Für 15€ mehr bekommt man eine viel bessere Qualität in anderen Hotels in der Umgebung. Ich werde hier nicht mehr riskieren nachts vor der Tür zu stehen.

Die Unterkunftsbedingungen waren mehr oder weniger akzeptabel, aber was mich sehr positiv überrascht hat, war das Frühstück, das sehr abwechslungsreich und lecker war!
Was auf der Buchungsseite nicht angegeben war, ist, dass man für den Parkplatz reservieren muss, und ich musste die Parkplätze in der Umgebung nacheinander absuchen, bis ich einen mit freien Plätzen fand, 15 Minute zu Fuß vom Hotel entfernt (die vom Hotel empfohlenen Parkplätze in der Nähe waren bereits voll belegt).

Leider war die Dusche defekt, sodass normales Duschen nicht möglich war. Man musste den Duschkopf mit einer Hand festhalten. Ich hoffe, dass diese Mängel behoben werden, damit das Hotel in einem bewohnbaren Zustand ist.

La llegada al hotel fue fácil, aún llegando de noche. El mismo día de nuestra llegada nos mandaron toda la información necesaria para el self check in y nos facilitó mucho el proceso.

La habitación fue justo que necesitábamos (fue una estándar) logramos acomodarnos teniendo muchas maletas con nosotros y el colchón y duvet fueron muy cómodos.
Los servicios del baño servían perfectamente y la calefacción estuvo ideal en días de frio y lluvia ligera.

Nosotros pagamos el desayuno y fue de lo mas variado que comimos en nuestro viaje. Es sencillo pero llenador y su maquina de café preparaba un café con leche delicioso.

La recepción trabaja con alguien de planta hasta las 3pm, pero no hubo ningún problema con eso ya que las horas que estaban disponibles estuvieron atentas a nuestras preguntas y necesidades.
Pudimos encargar nuestras maletas el día del check out para visitar otra ciudad cercana y queremos agradecerles mucho que se quedaron unos minutos más de las 3pm para que lográramos llegar de regreso despues de problemas con los trenes de regreso.

Voor aankomst parkeren geregeld en dat was goed doorgekomen. Kosten €20,- maar voor een grote stad is dat netjes. Verder Altstad op 1,5 km en in de hoofdstraat zit een leuk Brauhaus waar je goed kan eten en zeker kan drinken. Qua eten kun je met de vele nationaliteiten je hart ophalen en is er voor iedereen wel iets. Ben in vele Duitse steden geweest maar Düsseldorf hangt een fijne sfeer. Kortom wij gaan zeker terug. En dan is het Rugs Hotel zeker een optie voor ons 👍😉

Das Hotel befindet sich in Little Tokyo, daher gibt es in unmittelbarer Nähe eine große Auswahl an Restaurants und asiatischen Cafés und Supermärkten. Bahnhof und Innenstadt sind innerhalb von 10 min zu Fuß erreichbar und auch nachts haben wir uns in der Umgebung sehr sicher gefühlt, da in dem Stadtteil durch die vielen Lokale viel los ist.
Ab 15 Uhr ist die Rezeption nicht mehr besetzt. Zum Glück waren wir früher im Hotel und durften um 14 Uhr einchecken. Anscheinend funktioniert das neue „Code-System“ nicht einwandfrei, weshalb man uns eine Zimmerkarte gegeben hat. Dadurch hat das einchecken auch etwas länger gedauert, als man es sonst kennt. Dennoch war die Dame an der Rezeption sehr freundlich und auch am Hotel an sich habe ich nichts auszusetzen.
Wer mit viel Gepäck anreist sollte wissen, dass der Aufzug sehr klein ist und gerade so eine Person mit Koffer hineinpasst.
Das Hotel ist altmodisch eingerichtet, das Badezimmer wirkte jedoch frisch renoviert. Die Sauberkeit war OK. Bettwäsche und Handtücher waren sauber, der Kühlschrank wurde scheinbar gar nicht abgewischt.
Sonst war nicht viel Lärm von außen wahrnehmbar. Unser Zimmer schaute auf einen Innenhof und besaß eine Balkontür, die zu einer Feuertreppe führte.
Insgesamt win solides Hotel mit guter Lage, für den Preis würde ich jedoch nächstes mal ein anderes Hotel wählen.

Das Hotel ist etwa 10 Minuten vom Hbf entfernt in einer eigentlich ruhigen Seitenstraße. Allerdings wird da vorm Kiosk lange getrunken und gegrölt. Leider hatte unser Zimmer keine Klimatisierung, so dass wir die Fenster offen lassen mussten. Sonst alles sauber, recht harte Matratzen, gutes Badezimmer. Sehr freundlicher Service, man kann schon früher aufs Zimmer und Tee/Kaffee gibt es den ganzen Tag im Frühstücksraum.

Das Zimmer war sehr sauber, und insgesamt hat das Hotel einen sehr guten Eindruck hinterlassen. Einziger kleiner Kritikpunkt: Die Matratzen waren etwas hart. Ansonsten ist es ein tolles Hotel, das ich gerne weiterempfehle.

Salone Nautico di Dusseldorf

In questo hotel ci vado per lavoro, il prezzo pagato vale il costo, si tratta di una struttura datata ma confortevole, nei pressi della stazione e serviata sia dal tram che dalla metro a poca distanza.
Nel periodo del salone nautico offre prezzi molto competitivi, camere calde e una buona colazione, un buon compromesso per chi non vuole spendere troppo per il soggiorno in città.

First the hotel signs was from another hotel. When checking in I was told that hotel had no 24/7 service after 21.30 I would have to walk in thruu a special gate/door using my key card. When comin to the hotel at 22 my key card did not work and no oe was answering the phone. After waiting outside for quite a while I could come in to the hotel by joining another guest that had a functional key card. But my card did not work at my hotel room. I sat down on floor outside the room trying to get comfoatable and frequently trying to call on the reception number. After a couple of hours I had to start saving battery. But when hearing som noice that indicated some kind of work I did a try and a guy answered and could help me with a functional key card. Never Rugs again.

Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen und alles wurde uns sehr gut erklärt. Wir hatten Glück und durften zwischen zwei Zimmern wählen. Alles super für zwei Tage Stadtbesuch wirklich zu empfehlen.
Klitzekleine Anmerkung: Duschkopf entkalken und Kosmetikspiegel mit Vergeösserung, aber das ist wirklich wirklich eine Anmerkung, wenn man darauf Wert legt. Für den Preis gutes Preis Leistungsverhältnis, jederzeit wieder.

För priset jag betalade (1800kr) var det ett bra hotel. Sängarna var hårda och utsikten var okej som bäst. För priset så får man mer gå in för att det inte är ett lyxhotell. Trevlig personal, grattis kaffe nere i lobbyn och centralt.

Wir waren nur 1 Nacht dort , aber ein gutes Hotel mit einer sehr freundlichen Dame an der Rezeption . Das Hotel war sauber und wir hatten ein Zimmer zum Hof , also auch nicht so laut .
