diner was heel erg goed.
Kamer was schoon tot je wat beter kijkt, achter de TV veel stof, toilet wordt even snel schoongemaakt maar ruikt niet fris.
Veel geluid van de etage boven de kamer.
De receptie was niet bereikbaar na 23:00 uur ook niet telefonisch zelfs niet als je aangeeft dat het Nood is!
De tablet in de kamer funtioneerd niet, gaat wel aan maar de welkom toets werkt niet.
Als je de TV aanzet staat er een naam van een eerdere bezoeker.

Nice hotel for nature lovers

good location just near the national park. Note however that its a bit further away from the restaurants, and there is only nature around the hotel. we ate dinner at the hotel restaurant - food was excellent. The stay was comfortable, and everything worked smoothly, good breakfast. all staff we came in contact with were very accommodating.

New year on Texel

The Pelikaan has friendly and helpfull personell. The food in the restaurant has a good quality and is very tastefully. A good combination of meat, fish and vegetables. The brownie desert is splendid. The breakfast is good however a limited selection. What they have is very tastefull. The hotel bar is a good place to spend some time after dinner. Local beers and drinks. Darts and billiard. We have stayed in the apartments building. The hotel looks quite nice but the apartmens building a bit outdated. The apartment itself was oke. Clean and wel stocked. The beds in the children's rooms (single) were quite narrow. My teenage girls had a hard time turning around. Overall we had a pleasant stay.

Pleasant stay

Quite a large hotel. Went for standard room which was on basement but still fine. Larger rooms upstairs. Dinner is only served early (latest 7pm)) but was of a good standard and quite reasonably priced.
I think you should be given the opportunity to pay on check out rather than check in and there is also a 2.5% charge for using cards which should be taken into account, as well as city tax.
Breakfast included, which is rare for Holland, and was good.
Walk to beach was nearer 30 mins rather than the advertised 15 mins but you could just as easily hire a bike here. Short drive to beach and other parts of the island.
This is a nice place, quite large and also has apartments to rent. Quite a homely atmosphere, with very good parking facilities. Recommend.

Hygiene op de kamer was niet best. Met name de badkamer (wasbak, smerige deur, gebruikt glas) kon beter. Maar ook de zitting van de bank in de eetzaal mag een schoonmaak beurt hebben. Onze kamer zat blijkbaar boven de keuken waardoor vanaf 6.30 uur de kamer stonk naar uitgebakken spek. In de nacht veel mensen over het grindpad onder het raam. Personeel bij de receptie was wel erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Voor ons geen 2e keer daar.

Mooie uitvalsbasis op Texel

Goed hotel, prima ontbijt, goed restaurant en bar, prima wifi, ruime kamers, grote gratis parkeerplaats, vriendelijke servicemedewerkers. Even wennen qua uitstraling, niet de zakelijke die ik gewend ben, deze was wat oubollig. Maar zeker aan te raden.

Prima locatie en mooie kamer. Goed ontvangst, ontbijt en diner. De ligging is goed op het eiland. Centraal, maar je hebt wel een fiets of auto nodig om bij een dorpje te komen. Dat is prima. Zou zeker weer boeken als ik naar Texel ga.

Van der Valk heeft goeie bedden en een uitgebreid ontbijt. Wat ons voor de prijs wel tegenviel is de badkamer. Erg krap en een kleine douchekop met alsnog weinig waterdruk. De kamer is verder ruim en prima en de service erg fijn.

Leider war das Zimmer nicht ganz sauber (Spinnenweben und das Bad war auch nicht ganz sauber, Fenster müssten regelmäßiger geputzt werden-Spinnen).
Die Klimaanlage müsste auch mal gereinigt werden, das ganze Zimmer war sehr staubig bei unserer Abreise.

Glasbecher statt Pappbecher wären nachhaltiger.

Wenn das komplette Personal Englisch sprechen würde, wäre es perfekt!

Ein zweiter Stuhl in der Sauna wäre angebracht, falls man zu zweit in die Sauna geht.

Texel, de Koog van der Valk

We hebben het heel goed naar onze zin gehad. Ik vond alleen het hotel een beetje oudbollig. Kastjes afgeschaafd, stukjes van de onderkant van de deur af etc. Ik kom vaker bij vd Valk hotel en ben beter gewend. Verder vond ik het vreemd dat er weinig info werd gegeven aan de balie door de mensen zelf. Alles moet je zelf vragen.. Lijndienst, Texelhopper, wifi code heeft niemand iets over gezegd of hoe de fietsenhuur werkt. Dat was een beetje jammer. Verder hebben wij ons uitstekend vermaakt.

Lobby en restaurant mooi ingericht, vriendelijk personeel, ontbijt was goed verzorgd en diner was heerlijk! WiFi op de kamer was (nog) niet optimaal. Nog een ongelukje met een vallende hanglamp op onze ontbijttafel gehad, misschien een tip voor de volgende keer om bij zoiets een kleine geste te doen in de vorm van een kopje koffie/ drankje voor de schrik. Verder erg tevreden!!

Net hotel met vriendelijk personeel

Het hotel is netjes en goed ingericht op de huidige coronatijden. Het personeel is uiterst vriendelijk en correct. Ontbijtservice en comfort van de kamer zijn standaard en in orde. Een koelkast op de kamer zou wenselijk zijn en gepast hebben bij het comfortniveau van de badkamer met aparte bad en douche. Het hotel ligt vlak bij fietsroutes en Ecomare en is gelegen in een een rustige omgeving met natuur. Gratis parkeren. Dorp en supermarkt is een kwartier fietsen.

Location situated convenient near roads and bike lanes to head to De Koog town or other places on Texel island. Breakfast buffet had quite a lot of choice. Staff is very welcoming and friendly. We stayed in the comfort room, which was spacious. A little fridge in the room may have been convenient, but this was no issue. We enjoyed our days at the Pelikaan and would stay again.

Echter gezelligheid ontbreekt, alles te zakelijk ingericht.
Personeel is bezig met het werk, niet met de klanten.
Zelfs tijdens een brandalarm werden de klanten niet uitgelegd dat de brand (in de keuken) onder controle was en iedereen gewoon weer zijn ding kon gaan doen.
