Costa Calma Stay

Just back after a stay in the Esmerelda Maris. Great spacious apartments very close to the beaches (250M). All the apartments are similar in size with full cook facilities except oven which was not missed. Front a back terrace space of great size. Sun most of the day as most of the apartments are pretty much south-facing with sea view. All at the apartments were friendly and helpful. We took the half board option and if we returned would take breakfast only. Food was adequate and unrestricted but times were limited with restaurant closed at 9pm which for holiday is quite early. The location of the hotel is a good distance from the centre and transport is recommended as there is no shuttle service. The centre has a small shop which was empty and closed which is a shame as between breakfast and dinner there is no option for snacks especially if you are by the pool. Drinks are expensive with small water €3.20 or a bottle of house red €17.50. All drinks are only paid at the end of the stay. Must say the lady cleaner on our area works hard and did a great job bushing a seriously overloaded trolly on inclines of +15% in high heat. Overall lovely place to stay and would return. Beaches in the area are fantastic with crystal clear water and fantastic turquoise colours. Beaches are clothing optional but not intrusive. Check out the beach restaurant near Esmarelda Beach, really worth a visit.

It was the perfect place for a quiet relaxing break, walking distance from 3 beautiful beaches, a lovely beach restaurant very close and more on Costa Calma beach 10 mins walk away. The property was clean, spacious and fully equipped for self catering.
I’d recommend a car if you want to see more of the island. Lots of parking at the hotel.

We have really liked the apartment. Breakfast options were ok, but always had to wait for refills of juices and pastry and not everyone was nice.
The pool was dirty.
The washing machine in the laundry was a very old one and crazy expensive.

Just spent 4 nights and had a wonderful stay at Esmerelda Maris.
Great location – easy parking (being at the end of a line of hotels) and beautiful soft sandy beaches with crystal clear water within 6-8 minutes walk (off road / rough path so some footwear required). Opportunity for lovely coastal walks and fantastic panoramic views from nearby hills if desired.
A big thanks to Ingrid at reception was very warm, friendly and always helpful.
The whole hotel has been recently renovated – it felt new. Well designed and soundproofed, as well as spacious apartments. Spotlessly clean and lots of storage. Kitchen was also reasonably well equipped (only 3 of each piece of crockery but not an issue) and glad they provide a new washing-up sponge, soap, wiping cloth etc. Communal areas are well maintained.
Swimming pool was actually heated to a warm temperature (rare!) – perhaps about 23-24 degrees – very comfortable even in the cooler February evenings.
Wifi was decent and free for 5 devices per room, especially in the living area – speeds of 10-20 Mbps upload and download.
Highly recommended and hope to return again!

We visited for the first week in Feb 2019.

The hotel complex is large and of interesting architecture. We had an apartment with a sea view that was spacious, clean and with a balcony that provided a sun trap, staying warm a little longer at the end of the day when things cooled. The apartment was well laid out, with a very functional kitchen area and a sitting room section as well as bedroom. The only real negative was the bed - described as queen-sized, but just 2 singles pushed together with a gap between and not even covered with a double sheet. The beds were comfy however. Maid service was not daily, but was still frequent enough.

The staff were all friendly, had good English, always helpful and willing. They made us welcome and it was appreciated.

We ate half board. Breakfast had a good range of typical foods plus a few local bits and a live chef making omelettes etc. Dinner was also good, and although the buffet could suffer a little from being prepared in bulk, the live chef station provided a freshly cooked selection that was different each night.

The pool was pleasant, not heated but not cold either, and kept clean every night using and underwater robot. We saw the gym and yoga hall etc, but did not use the facilities.

There is little to do around the hotel at night, and the rest of Costa Calma is sleepy in low season, so if you don't want to watch TV make sure you take a book or 2. The hotel car park is on the dirt area beside the hotel.

Beautiful property. Room/Apt was very nice but wifi didn't work. The shower head was not working right but they did have it replaced which I appreciated. The food was very good, but I thought they could have provided free drinking water at dinner considering you couldn't drink tap water. I think I would definitely stay here again. By the way, it wasn't easy to find. Be sure you get good directions!

Lovely location but far from the airport...

The location is remote from the party scenery in Costa Calma 😒which is also far from the airport (1hr or 1hr30 mins journey) by taxi min 70€ 😢and it's not a business oriented town shops and restaurants shuts down quickly.
The hotel is nice and spotlessly clean but the services stop altogether by 11pm... It's very scary n empty at night because it's too quiet. Make sure you get everything you need before 11pm or else?!
The food was amazing I must say and the staff were sweet, Martina my favourite 😍😘 at the reception, Mariama in the kitchen top notch chef and the cleaner lady very helpful!
The location has a beautiful beach not far from the premises so that was a plus but be ready for a long walk at the beach.
Make sure you rent a car for total satisfaction if you don't then stay in Jandia because taxi services expensive and not worth the hassle!
Morro de Jable is not far but it's worth discovering.

Good quality for the good price - I recommend it

The hotel was better than I expected, given the price, and better than the one 4 star hotel we stayed in for the second half of our holiday. If you like to watch tv, bring your phone or tablet etc. This area is very popular and geared towards Germans. The only english tv channels are news, and a horse and country channel. You will need the paid for wifi to watch movies etc, as the free wifi isn't great. There is a small shop onsite, it closes at 6pm. The room is comfortable enough, and the lounge has microwave, cooker and fridge. I travelled with my teenage daughter, and she liked the hotel. This area is very quiet, and feels safe. No drunks, very little noise. Breakfast is plentiful, and lots of choice. Take the Hoppa to the resort from the airport. It cost 14 euros for two of us, each way, and took the same time as a taxi, which will cost over 100 euros each way. We waited less than 15 minutes at the airport for the hoppa bus, and the same at the resort to take us back. The food in the town is ok, but nothing to write home about. If what you want to do is sunbath, relax and recharge your batteries, without running into lots of other Brits its perfect. If you don't like being surrounded by germans, try somewhere else.

Fabulous Week!

Loved our week at Esmeralda Maris. This is the place to come to recharge your batteries. We wanted nothing more to do than relax so we walked, swam, slept and looked forward every day to breakfast and dinner. We went half board with a great choice of healthy fresh food each day. Could have eaten there forever! Friendly smiling staff who make such a difference to a holiday. We arrived late in the evening and hungry and were brought food and water to our room as the restaurant had closed. A thoughtful touch. Apartment immaculate with linen and towel change. Great spacious bathroom, large bedroom and 2 balconies with a sea view from the front. 20 minute walk to Costa Calma shops and the same time to the fabulous beach with crystal clear water. Buses to elsewhere on the island if you can tear yourself away from the peace and quiet. Hard to leave.

Excellent accommodation in a superb position.

This was our first visit to the Esmeralda Maris but have stayed in the Esmeralda Hotel opposite for the past 14 years. It was a great experience for us doing self-catering, although on this occasion breakfast was included which was superb with plenty of food on offer, including cooked breakfast. The apartment was roomy with a good third bed in the lounge for the third person in our party. We did have our evening meal in the Restaurant of the Maris which was reasonable but felt we could do our own cooking for the rest of our stay which worked out so reasonably priced with good cooking facilities in our apartment. We could then enjoy our evening meal at our leisure on the superb balcony with wonderful sea views. We would recommend the Esmeralda Maris to everybody and we will certainly be back there next year - probably for two visits . You cannot get better surroundings and scenery than the Costa Calma. Thank you for your help in booking this for us.

Really great place for some quiet and relaxed time

We were happily surprised how good our apartment was. Exactly what we wanted and more than we expected, we had 2 terraces, one with the great ocean view we asked for and other with just a mountain, so beautiful. Everything was working and the bathroom was great, the bath tub was big enough for 2 of us (for our romantic bath). The swimming pool area was lovely. The beach was close. And we were glad that there was a small shop at the hotel because other shops are pretty far away if you don't have a car or bike. This place is perfect if you don't look for a nightlife and good restaurants around your hotel. Hotel staff are friendly enough, just some of them don't bother to give correct and detailed information but we can't say it about all of them. Rooms were cleaned 5 times a week which was even too much for us. We asked the lady to skip cleaning our room one day but when we came back home it was cleaned anyway (which wasn't a bad thing). We really enjoyed our stay and the cheap&good massages in Esmeralda Maris :)

Wir waren zu dritt eine Woche in der Anlage.
Das Appartement war sauber und schön! Leider war in der Küche alles abgezählt und keine Spülmaschine vorhanden! Für 4 Sterne eigentlich Standard. Auf der Terrasse waren 2 Liegen und Stühle. Haben beim netten Mann an der Rezeption um eine weitere Liege + Stuhl gebeten. Er hat es sich notiert und dabei blieb es dann leider erstmal auch!
Am letzten Tag wurde sie dann gebracht! Zu spät!
Von den 4 Kochfeldern funktionierten nur 2.
Haben uns perfekt selber verpflegt! In 1 Km Entfernung ist ein Spar Markt! Für eine Woche haben wir ca 250 Euro ausgegeben. Frühstück und Abendessen hätten uns in der Anlage für 3 Personen 840 Euro gekostet! So hatten wir alles was für uns wichtig war. Tolles Angebot.
Der Pool dient wohl leider zur Dekoration. Er ist nur 1,20 Meter tief und eiskalt! Ein Whirlpool wäre toll gewesen! Gab es aber nicht!
Im Fitnessstudio haben sich die Geräte nicht mit dem Internet verbunden! Sehr schade! Das W-LAN funktionierte überall nur sporadisch! Auch sehr schade!
Die Insel ist für Ihren Wind bekannt! Ich habe es allerdings unterschätzt! War zum zweiten Mal auf Fuerteventura! Aber kein Tag ohne heftigen Wind nervte schon sehr! Am wunderschönen Strand hat man es nicht länger als 1 Stunde ausgehalten! Dann war man komplett fertig! Der Sand peitscht wie kleine Nadelstiche einem um die Ohren!
Habe mir direkt eine Erkältung eingefangen und lag 2 Tage flach! Es wird leider kein drittens mal geben auf der Insel.

Frühstück könnte abwechslungsreicher sein, Parkplatz Situation war nicht gut, Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, ist jedoch ein paar Mal ohne anklopfen ins Zimmer geplatzt. Eine sehr gute übersichtliche Hotelanlage. Für ruhesuchende der perfekte Ort. Keine Dauerbeschallung am Pool, aufdringliche Animateure.Sehr gute Strände in der Nähe sind fußläufig erreichbar.Wir hatten eine sehr geräumige Suite mit HP und Meerblick. Das gesammte Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Insbesondere möchten wir uns bei Miguel bedanken. Immer ein freundliches Lächen trotz des stressigen Jobs.\" Muchas Gracias Miguel\". Das Hotel Esmeralda ist ruhig gelegen. Die Suiten sein sehr geräumig und lassen sehr viel Raum zum Wohlfühlen. Mit ein paar Bildern an der wand wäre die Unterkunft noch gemütlicher.
Das Essen war im ruhigen Restaurant stets frisch zubereitet und schmackhaft. Durch das große Buffet fällt die Wahl sehr leicht auf die Dinge , die einem schmecken. Außerdem werden Fisch und Fleisch am Open Coocking Desk nach Wahl immer frisch zubereitet.
Die Krone ist das Personal, das immer freundlich, hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend ist.

Es war traumhaft schön, der Ausblick auf den Atlantik und die Sandlandschaft lud täglich zum Schwelgen und Seele baumeln lassen ein. Die Appartments und die gesamte Anlage sind sehr sauber, das Personal unglaublich nett und zuvorkommend, hier fühlt man sich als Gast gewertschätzt. Das Essen hat Bestqualität, der Service im Restaurant ist vorbildlich. Der Pool ist nicht zu stark frequentiert, man hat das Gefühl alle Gäste sind auf Entspannung und Ruhe/ Harmonie aus.
Das war der schönste Urlaub, den ich bislang hatte.

Ottima struttura molto accogliente. Posizione ottima per chi vuole tranquillità e relax. Personale sufficentemente cordiale. Sicuramente manca di una zona di intrattenimento, bar/cocktail dove trascorrere del tempo per un aperitivo o dopo cena. Alle 21 tutto spento, non c'è nessuno fino al mattino. Più che un luogo di vacanza si trasforma in un dormitorio. Lato positivo se ami la tranquillità é il luogo adatto.
Pulizia buona, ma non curata nei dettagli come mi sarei aspettato da una struttura del genere a quattro stelle. Ha un ottimo potenziale e struttura ma purtroppo non sfruttata a dovere.

Directamente en la playa, lugar extra relajante y tranquilo. Los apartamentos están renovados y con buen gusto, los colchones son muy cómodos. El personal es muy agradable, la limpieza es de primera. Vale la pena probar la sauna, hace calor y en un entorno maravilloso. La comida es muy deliciosa, 4 tipos de carne recién a la plancha en la cena. Estuvimos con niños, sin duda volveremos!

Hotel molto bello, abitazioni grandi e ben arredate in modo moderno e funzionale. Pulizia ok tranne il ventilatore a soffitto pieno di polvere. Letti comodi ma cuscini orribili, duri. Personale molto gentile, purtroppo non parla italiano, ma molto disponibile.
Si sente tanto la mancanza di un bar. Perché non c'è un bar aperto né di giorno né la sera ?
Nelle zone limitrofe non c'è possibilità di svago serale o notturno.

El trato fue excepcional, llegamos pronto y no esperábamos poder hacer el check in, pero en 20 minutos nuestra habitación estaba lista y nos dejaron pasar. El último día nos íbamos pronto también y nos prepararon una bolsita con el desayuno. El personal de recepción y restaurante (desayunos) un 10.
El apartamento amplio y con muchos servicios, por poner una pega, echamos de menos una cuchara (o espátula o tenedor) de madera, pero era lo único que faltaba!
La lavandería nos vino muy bien.
Es verdad que en limpieza un poco mejorable.

Me gustó la habitación, muy grande, moderna y muy limpia.
No me gustó que eramos 3 y la habitación sólo estaba preparada para 2; tubimos que llevar nosotros la ropa almuada y demás desde la recepción y hacernos la 3ª cama. Pedimos una manta extra y nunca llegó. Hay ventanas en la habitación que no tienen cortina ni forma de evitar que entre la luz.

La habitación en general estaba bien. Tenía excesivas manchas en la pared de otros huespedes, la fuente de alimentación de la TV sonaba a estropada y la limpieza del hotel no se corresponde a un 4 estrellas.

Cuando llegas allí te comunican de que se pasa a cambiar las toallas solo lunes, jueves y sabado.

Los miercoles no se pasa a hacer limpieza de las habitaciones.

Tolles Presi Leistungs Niveau mit schönen Suiten

Die Anlage ist sehr sauber. Die Rezeption hilfsbereit und freundlich. Die Unterkunft - Suite mit Meeresblick beinhaltet eine kleine Küche. Diese ist mit allem ausgestattet, was man braucht. Ein Flasche Sekt beim Anreisen ist eine nette Geste.
Das Bad ist geräumig, modern, sogar mit großer Wanne. Ein kleines Patio und eine schöne Terrasse - hier kann man nichts falsch machen.
Pool und auch Liegen sind auf gutem Niveau. Ein kleiner Spa läd zum verweilen ein, ebenso wie eine kleine \"Chill out Ecke mit Hänge-Liegen und und Sesseln. Der Shop hat für Spontan Einkäufe einiges da.
Da ich mit Auto dort war, ist \"Strand Nähe\" für mich nicht interessant. Aber alles ist Fuß läufig. Gerne wieder.

Terrace war für Uns nicht nutzbar da keinerlei Privatsphäre lag genau an der Treppe wo Alle auf und ab gingen keine Abtrennung wirklich sehr schlecht gelöst

Boff, hôtel vide désert sans vie AMBIANCE GLAUQUE

Voici notre expérience lors d'un séjour familiale aout 2021.
Hôtel sans vie ni activité, une boutique fermé tout aout motif = covid ! L'excuse facile

Pour commencer l'emplacement de l'hôtel est isolé, loin des commerces / restaurants (prévoir une voiture obligatoire). L'hôtel n'est pas directement sur la plage (chambre avec vue mer ne sont pas correctes).
La piscine de l'hôtel est petite par rapport aux nombres de personnes et trop froide.
Aucune machine fonctionnelle dans la salle de sport sauf le tapis
Pas de parking, utiliser la rue (pas de place ou un parking de la ville publique)
Globalement, la chambre est bof pour un 4 étoile et ne dispose que d'un lit deux places pour 4 car le matelas du salon est inadmissible pour des adultes
Le ménage n'est pas fait les mercredis et dimanches car les agents sont en congés du jamais vu pour un 4*
La loge ferme à 18/ 21h donc faire le tour de l'hôtel pour rejoindre sa chambre (pas d'ascenseur)
Le restaurant: une serveuse désagréable fait la loi et crie sur les clients qui ne respecteraient pas SES règles (attendre dehors dans le froid le temps qu'elle vous accorde l'accès au restaurant). La nourriture est correcte mais identique et pas de qualité
A prévoir dans votre budget : Boissons payantes et \"obligatoires\" conclusion + 100 e à payer en fin de séjour pour boire de l'eau chaque soir ou 1 coca.
Le seul point positif est un serveur SALEM qui a le sourire

Finally , Hôtel médiocre pour un 4* nous sommes déçus
