Rude, condescending and unhelpful reception staff (particularly the women working on Thursday 13 June at 9.45am) - unsafe (room safety is ill-maintained) no working locks on doors for solo travellers. Walls are paper thin you can hear other guests just talking in their room from your own. No gym as shown on photos, and no other activities. Food is bog standard. Beach towels and bath towels are thread bare. Hairdryer didn’t work and rooms very dated. Coffee machine is awful - had to go miles away for a decent drink which defeats the point of paying for half board. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere so it was an expensive for what they offer - defo a 2 star not a 4 star as they state.

Not the best choice of hotel

8 nights half board stay from 25/03 to 03/04. Until April there was no animation at all, after that very poor. For the first time ever in my life I have been charged for a tap water in the restaurant and which is even worse the waiter even didn't told me that I should pay for a glass of water which I didn't touch at all. The hotel is on really high stip hill around 30 mins walking distance from the beach. I have 3-4 holidays during the year. Always stay in a 4 star hotels. From my experience until now this was worst 4 star hotel in my life. If I can say something good about the hotel I can mention the sun loungers which looked like new and actually were really comfortable

The staff seemed really unhappy to be there and the service was bad. There would be a a queue for a drink and the one person serving would walk off to go and clean tables. There’s only ever one bar open in the entire resort. This means that after 9.30pm if you want any drink (soft or alcoholic) you have to queue to get one from the top floor disco. This queue was a running home at the hotel as it was always about 50 people long at any one time. Only cheap wine available at lunch and dinner and no option of any drink other that the self service flat Pepsi machine. This was a cheap hotel with no frills - it was in no way possible a 4 star hotel. The area around is awful - nothing to walk too other than a pebbled beach with nothing on. Food pretty much stayed the same for the full week. One night they might add a beef stew or something. As a vegetarian the options were plain rice. Broccoli and carrots. Although the salad bar was okay, it very repetitive and had lots of flies on. This is a budget hotel (3 star at most). Positives were the room was cleaned well and I had a massage for 45 euro at the hotel which was very good.

Comfortable stay with good service

Well greeted, good amenities and plenty of choice for breakfast. The room was clean but not to a high standard. There was some strands of hair on bedding and on the shower tiles. I woke up to no electricity on the last day but as it was the last day, it was the least of my concerns. Walls are slightly thin as can hear your neighbours next door.

Don't expect too much.

Large hotel but a bit away from the main tourist area of Costa Calma. Reception was friendly and helpful. We did book the cheapest room so it was no surprise to find ourselves on the ground floor, inside courtyard with a view of ...the neighboring wall. Recommend you have a car but then good luck finding parking convenient to the hotel. We only had a short stay but it still would have been good to have at least a water cooker in the room. The buffet breakfast was acceptable but served in a very utilitarian canteen area. The room was large enough with plenty of closet space but a rather small television. Housekeeping seemed to be a bit hit and miss. On the Saturday we thought we'd help and told the Staff nothing needed to be done but please bring 2 extra pillows. Duly noted and nothing done. Sunday we expected towels and linens to be replaced but instead returned to find the damp towels hung up again but no fresh towels or linens. Maybe we missed the no cleaning on Sundays memo? In general ok if you only need an inexpensive room for a couple of nights.

The hotel was nice, staff very friendly and helpful. The pool and balcony, reception and general areas are very nice. Rooms are basic but can be noisy as the walls aren’t very sound proof so can be hard to sleep at night with the noise of people coming and going. There was some renovations going on, so the indoor pool wasn’t available and was noisy at times during the day with the renovations.
Overall a nice place but the area is quiet and rooms could do with updating, but are pleasant.

Costa Calma magic at the KN Matas Blancas

I have been here twice now ,both times i found very good and helpful, a little bit at the back of town but if you have a car or like a 15 minute walk or there is even a bus from outside the hotel, so all very convenient. I would certainly go to the KN Matas Blancas in Costa Calma again the beaches nearby are simply stunning.

Not a good location and resort layout is not good for walking and finding your way around. Need transport to get anywhere.
Hotel has good facilities but lacks atmosphere in that the dining room is a bit like a canteen and there is no focal social are such as a cosy bar where guests can mingle.

We wanted somewhere for a Christmas break and this place was ok. Basic to say the least, there were 4 coathangers in the double wardrobe, and no mini bar (the fridge didn't even work). But, it was clean, the staff were friendly. It's a bit away from the beach and the town, but we had a car so weren't affected too much

Hotel is far from mostly everything. Quite noisy because of drunk tourists. Reception staff doesn't speak full english well. We are now in an another 4 star hotel 40 minutes from kn matas and this is much better, with coffe and tea in the room. Yeah I know that the hotel's usual response is 'not requirement, it's the curtesy of the hotels', but come on guys don't you realise that everybody keeps asking for it.

good stay, the only minus was that we got a really old and horrible room in an old section of the hotel, despite it was not fully booked the guy at reception claimed it was fully booked and refused to give us a better room. we insisted on getting a better one and finally got one , so it was all good in the end, but felt a bit funny as they didn't care

The hotel staff couldn't be better. Plenty of open spaces. Reasonable drink prices. We never felt crowded. Meal times are obviously more busy but the serving staff couldn't work any harder. Go earlier rather than later to dinner to get the most choice. The entertainment staff Jennifer, Leila and Jorje were always full of energy and smiles. Hire a car to see more of the island.

When we first arrived they could not find our name. we found it on their list. Then our room was not ready. The receptionist took my mobile number and said she would call me as soon as the room was ready. 45 minutes later still no call I went back to reception to check. The room was ready but she just didn't call. I upgraded to include breakfast. I wished I hadn't. The dining room was like a canteen and the buffet was far from what you would expect in a supposedly 4 star hotel.

The staff at reception was rude, unprofessional and racist. They continuously followed my movements since the first night and assumed facts that never occurred. My niece live in the island of La Palma and she came to visit me 2 days at the beginning of my stay at the hotel. She was staying in a nearby apartment with a girlfriend of hers but early in the morning she came to the hotel to pick me up for visiting the island.
The staff accused me that she spent 2 nights with me and wanted me to pay extra 40. They did this accusation in front of other customers. I refuse the accusation and told them I would talk to them later in private. When I asked to talk in private later on the same day, they also were attending other customers but the same receptionist said I could talk to them freely because the customers were \"guiris\" - derogative/ racist Spanish term to call non-Spanish- I could not believe it and waited to speak to him alone. The following day I reported the case to the reception manager the full incident.

Good but have transport.

The hotel is nice enough. We were lucky enough to hire a car and find the best beaches and view points, without the car it would have been a limited for things to do. Nearest beach or shopping complex would have been 40/50 minutes walk at least. The nearest and best beach for tourists and the best beach on the island is in Morro Jable, Californian type area/shops and restaurants. Hire a car with budget its not the cheapest company but still £41 for the whole week, they don’t bother about scatches under 10cm.

quiet but that's what I wanted

The hotel staff were amazing, I arrived after a very distressing journey and the lady (ginger) on reception greeted me by first name and saw I needed looking after ❗️ The hotel itself is just about to have a facelift so there wasn't many guests and that made it quiet , luckily I needed that anyway . The pool was absolutely freezing but apparently that was because of the refurb. Food was ok , shop was pricey , rooms and hotel were very clean . All in all I would probably go back as the staff were fantastic .

I was really disappointed when I came to the hotel . I find few stuff in my room from previous people who was living in it like eg; cotton stick to clean ears ( dirty ) . One lady on the reception was really not nice plus didn't help us with airport transport when we ask her . Water in the swimming pool was really cold . There wasn't any coffee , tea station in side the room . To be honest that hotel didn't deserve for 4 stars . Sorry to admit this :-( . It was boring nothing was going on at evening time

Geared to retired people who prefer all inclusive.

This hotel is far from the beach and restaurants (20 min walk) to costa calms town area and a 15-20min drive to Jandia. It is adults only but is geared more towards retired people as opposed to young couples. It was very quiet. There was no pool bar and the only bar open while we stayed there served only wine and beer. The hotel was clean but dated. Parking was easy, free and right in front of the hotel. Did not try the food. It was buffet style mainly for the all inclusive customers. Staff were pleasant. We checked out early and went to stay in the north of the island where there was more to do.

March poor choices maybe because there were only a handful of diners.The fact that is wasn't busy was a plus we are now in another hotel where the dining is like school dinnertime!!.The reception staff are wonderful especially Michaela,Thanks to all the staff for a wonderful stay,we will certainly be back.

Fine for business

I have stayed here twice, purely for the price as I had to do some business in the south of the island. The rooms are fine, but the area is not great, since it is very far from the beaches and shops (this didn't affect me).
I wouldn't bother with full board as I didn't think much of the food, and the evening meal is a bit formal for a hotel of this type.
As is usual in The Canary Islands, there is no free wifi (the free wifi in reception is unusable).

Good quality-price ratio.

Costa Calma is one of the best locations in Fuerteventura, therefore hotels are more expensive than the average. Best Age has very good quality-price ratio. It offers good breakfast. It's a bit far to the beach, but its not a problem if you rent a car. And by the way renting a car is a must in Fuerteventura (unless you are \"allinclusive\" type tourist). The Best beaches in Fuerteventura are just a few kilometres south (i.e. towards Morro Jable). The hotel also offers shuttles to these beaches. Car renting prices are very low (if you rent at the airport they are around 15 EUR/day, except peak periods like Christmas), I recommend Plus Car (full (no excess) insurance, free child seats/second driver and no hidden fees (such as full-empty fuel policy))…Don't eat (except breakfast) in the Hotel, try fresh products in restaurants in the Island, prices are low...

Great value, nice hotel and good food

The hotel is located 5 minutes of car from the beach and it is not that easy to find and indications in Costa Calma are virtually non existent (however if you have a map it is far easier). Parking is on the street, we did not have any issues to find a parking space, however I can guess in summer it is slightly trickier. The hotel was very clean and well presented and the staff was very helpful and polite. There is a very nice outdoor pool, a mini golf, indoor sauna and Jacuzzi, table tennis, pool tables and tennis court. However keep in mind that this is a good value 4 stars hotel, not a posh 4 star hotels, so it is not immaculate (table tennis was warped, tennis court was faded, mini golf is a bit run down), but offer a great service for a reasonable price. The room was clean, well presented, reasonably big and with a nice view. Air conditioning was quite weak, but for October was more than enough (however in the summer I am not sure it is suitable). Wifi was free only in the reception area (and speed was not great), in the room you had to pay for it. Breakfast buffet was abundant, great selection and great quality, something for every need. Dinner (we had half board) was buffet, rather different every night, good (but not excellent) quality, abundant and staff was polite (and drinks reasonably priced). All in all I would recommend it, it is in a great location to explore the south of Fuerteventura, it offers a stunning value for money and great (but not perfect) facilities.

Great for the price, but quite far from the beach

Considering how little I paid for my stay, it seems a bit ungrateful to criticize anything, however I will try to be objective.
The location isn't great and it is quite far from the beach, this didn't affect me, but it would if I was looking for a beach holiday.
The evening meal has a dress code, so make sure that you don't go away with just shorts and flip-flops. I was a little disappointed with the food on my first night - the fish was quite tasteless, however it was much better on the second night. The Breakfast buffet was decent as well with plenty of options.
There is a shuttle service between the hotel and the beach, however it is infrequent so I didn't use it.

Another Gem in Costa Calma

this was our first visit to Best Age by Cordial in Costa Calma although we had been to CC 5 times before.we found the hotel very good with a peaceful relaxed atmosphere just what we wanted clean tidy with excellent staff and very helpful management nothing to much trouble for them.Plenty of choice on the menu and the use of the spa an added bonus .Drinks were not to expensive and the Half board plus was well worth it as drinks were included with meals

Best Age Hotel was very comfortable, very clean and staff were friendly and helpful, though the staff in the dining room did not seem great with the English language, but enough to get by. The pool and outdoor areas were very well maintained, clean at all times. The hotel provide a bus transfer to the beach and times are on the information leaflet but they do not mention beforehand that you have to pre-book at reception, this caused confusion for myself and others.
My only complaint is that at the time of booking I did not realise that it was not a popular area for Irish visitors, so while the hotel was excellent and the area beautiful I do not imagine that I will return as it seems to cater to a different nationality.

The hotel is located around 25 mins from the nearest beach but the walk isn't a big problem.
We rated our stay in this hotel as a good one. Service in the reception was helpful - the only downside was a very slow wifi provided by the hotel. It will be great if they can improve in this matter. Breakfast food was ok but it will be good to see some improvements with fresh.. fruits. Overal good experience with Best Age in Costa Calma.

Pleasant surprise was the (free) hotel spa (hot tub, sauna, steam room). This was nice.

Pool was large and quiet with plenty of sun beds, although at this time of year the water is cold.

Hotel condition could be better - it's at best a 3 star.

Mixed feelings on the staff. Some were great and some were not.

Location is approx 20 min walk to the beach. It's a bit of a trek. The hotel does provide taxis (free) however at set times.

I stayed in a few different places on Fuerteventura. I really liked this hotel. It has more of a resort feel, but the location isn't great if you don't have a rental car (which we did!) everything was clean, the pool was wonderful (but cold!). There was a nice balcony, mini fridge and great sized bathroom. We did self-catering, so I can't vouch for the food.

Great, quiet stay in Costa Calma

I booked my room for 3 nights, straddling the weekend, the day-of. I found the \"Best Age\" Hotel, which was significantly cheaper than other nearby option while offering everything I needed - proximity to the beach, peace, and a comfortable bed. I would stay there again. Car rental is highly recommended, as the beach is not walkable.

The first impressions to the hotel was great, the man on desk was fantastic. Great Service! The food was great, loved it. The only down side was the swimming pool was absolutely freezing, no Jecuzi, and the water fall only came on 2-3 a day and only lasted 20 mins. The showers were cold too. Warm water is defiantly needed. There was a poping noise we kept hearing through out the time at the pool, which was annoying! I did notice where eventually where it was coming from -> you know the vents on the floor where water goes, there are plug holes filters around the outer pool that have come off. Room was great too, I did request a balcony overlooking pool, but didn't happen ;-) overall Good Hotel, I would say more entertainment is needed though.

We live in the North of Fuerteventura and stayed at the Best Age for a 3 day break. It was full of German's but that didn't worry us as we just wanted to relax after spending a very busy 6 weeks at work. The staff were very friendly and bilingual and the food was excellent - something for everyone. Best of all there were no children (adult only hotel). Very enjoyable stay.

Had a nice week comfortable room and surrounding within the hotel,hired a car at the airport glad we did,as not much to do locally,apart from beech,although if not sunny nothing to do within walking distance.Hotel breakfast super,choice and quantity.Evening buffet first night not good,dishes were empty or a mess to look at approx 7.45 pm,not closed till 9 so expected better,this stopped us going again,apart from a freebie,which we accepted and went a little earlier,there was an improvement especially presentation.Hotel staff especially two girls at reception and bar areas very efficient and helpful.facilities within grounds o.k but pool to cold ,all in all not a bad base but a car is a must

Alles in einem war es ein sehr schöner Urlaub im Hotel 😊 Die Mitarbeiter waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Essen hat mir im Großen und ganzen auch sehr gut gefallen. Die Anfahrt ist ein bisschen schwierig, aber machbar. Alles in einem kann ich das Hotel nur empfehlen und war sehr zufrieden.

Das Hotel liegt in einer super ruhigen Lage mit tollen Ausblick auf die Landschaft. Das Personal ist absolut durchweg Freundlich und Hilfsbereit, egal ob es die Reinugungskräfte, Küchenpersonal, Portier oder die Barkeeper sind, allesamt immer gut gelaunt und haben merklich Spaß an der Arbeit. Die Animation bzw. Der Animateur hat auch immer neue Ideen und weiss es die Gäste zu unterhalten, man lernt schnell neue Leute kennen und es wird ganz bestimmt nicht langweilig. Das Essen, egal ob Frühstück, Mittag- oder Abendessen, ist wirklich lecker, frisch und abwechslungsreich. Das einzige ist der „Nachmittagssnack“ dort stehen jeden Tag nur Burger und Hotdogs bereit, vielleicht könnten man da besser die Reste vom Mittagessen stehen lassen. Oder zumindest irgendwie Abwechslung schaffen. Aber das ist auch wirklich das einzige was mir leicht negativ aufgefallen war am gesamten Aufenthalt.

Zum Strand sind es zwei Minuten mit dem Auto oder 20 Minuten zu Fuß, es stehen aber auch viele Elektroscooter von Bird in der Gegend herum.

Man sollte sich aber um die Insel zu erkunden einen Mietwagen nehmen, da es landschaftlich eine traumhafte Insel ist, es gibt allerdings auch ausgezeichnet Busverbindungen. Zu empfehlen ist auch der im Nachbarort La Lajita liegende Zoo.

Kn Matas Blancas excellent séjour

Séjour en Solo pour profiter des spots de windsurfs qui sont exceptionnels à cette periode de l annee. L hotel est excellent rapport qualite prix. Nourriture et service exceptionnels. Personnel tres sympa en particulier Mamadou et Camara, respectivement à l accueil et côté cuisine. Bref à refaire.

Het hotel was mooi en goed onderhouden. Ontbijt was simpel maar goed, avondeten was niet zo denderend vrij eentonig en vaak hetzelfde. Wij gaan nog terug maar enkel met ontbijt.
Voor de rest zeker een aanrader!

Very good value for money

Very clean nice environment, although the equipment of the room corresponds more to 3 stars. Quite uncomfortable hard beds, with plastic on the mattress, which cracks under your ass. Nice good fitness with a great view, unfortunately without air conditioning terrible hot there. The pools are fine and the pool area very nice. There is nothing around the hotel, no restaurants or shops anywhere, just peace.. Sometimes was an unpleasant sewage smell there.

En mi opinión no este hotel no corresponde a una categoria de 4 estrellas.
Como punto fuerte destacaría la limpieza, la amabilidad del personal y la zona de piscinas.
A mejorar, principalmente el comedor. El mobiliario está anticuado, pero sobretodo hay muy poca variedad de comida. Esto hizo que pese a tener una media pensión acabaramos cenando fuera del hotel.
La ubicación tampoco me gustó. Está en una zona residencial apartado de todo.

Prestations au niveau du prix promotionnel .

Hôtel correct pour le prix promotionnel payé sur hôtel.com. La chambre vaut le 4 étoiles ainsi que la piscine. Par contre la nourriture est très basique, la salle de restaurant est une cantine , je mets 2 étoiles pour cela. Lignes hautes tension passant sur une partie de l'hôtel avec pilone très visible. Le wifi de l'hôtel est ancien et mon nouveau téléphone portable Google n'a pas réussi à se connecter, idem pour certains iPhone, apparemment .

Globalement très satisfait.

Le personnel est très pro et à l'écoute. C'est propre. La deco pratique mais un peu froide. J'ai demandé une chambre excentrée avec le moins de voisin possible. J'ai été écouté. Tant mieux car sur mes 24 jours de présence j'ai eu 3 jours de voisinage. Or ce n'est pas très insonorisé. J'ai donc été bien inspiré. Mieux vaut être isolé. Du coup la vue de la terrasse était assez pauvre mais très bien ensoleillée. Le petit dejeuner et le diner en demi-pension étaient très bien compte tenu du prix. La boisson du soir n'est pas comprise (2€/soir). Le Buffet à volonté et avec du choix est très correct. Bien que potentiellement perfectible, globalement je suis très satisfait de mon séjour dans cet hotel.

Hemos estado en hoteles de 4 estrellas de más calidad. El servicio ha sido excelente. El personal que trabaja en el hotel muestra buenas relaciones entre ellos (son como una familia) y el trato a los clientes es excepcional. Las instalaciones y las comidas del bufete son mejorables. Cuando te quedas en régimen de pensión completa es inconcebible que la comida caliente a la plancha sea igual en el almuerzo y en la cena. Hay poca variedad en el menú. Si tu estancia es de dos días, no lo notas. En una semana de estancia, te das cuenta de la poca variedad culinaria que ofrece el hotel. Agradecemos el trato recibido por el personal, especialmente el de Jose y Chiqui. Se nota que les gusta su trabajo.

Séjour très fatiguant en cause des lits à ressort très inconfortable
Moi et mon épouse avons jamais vu ça !
Pas de ménage pendant notre séjour de 3 jours.
J'ai du le réclamer pour avoir un service digne de\" 4 étoiles \"
Au moins nous avons eu un coup de poussière et enfin les serviettes changées
Pour les draps ça devait être de trop...
Pour le côté restaurant
Petit déjeuner copieux et bon.. Pour les repas du midi ou du soir mieux vos aller dans les restaurants du coin.
Aucun Choix et cher pour ce que c'est..
Cotè piscine elles sont très propres et bien surveillées.
Pour le spa il vous faudra compter 15 euros par personne pour 2 heures.
Je l'ai essayé.. Franchement ça ne vaut pas le prix.
En plus 2 zones ne fonctionnées pas c'est pas pour autant que j'ai eu droit à un rabais.
Voilà notre avis sur ce soit disant 4 étoiles qui pour nous et dépassé et ne vaut pas plus que 2 étoiles.

hotel sympa et personnel au top!!

hotel a taille humaine, un personnel au top pour la courtoisie et l aide!! mention speciale pour Christian de la reception!!!
3 piscines dont une chauffée, belle chambre, salle de sport bien equipée, squash, tir a l arc, tennis....gratuit.
le spa est payant 15/jour donc pas testé...
petit dejeuner complet avec beaucoup de choix, diner un peu trop international mais pour 10€/repas....faut pas megotter!!! possibilité d'avoir les boissons incluses a volonté au diner pour 5€/jour....nous ne pouvons que recommander cet hotel qui est vraiment bien situé meme si pas a coté de la mer mais a 15mn de marche. les environs sont sympa et le sud de fuerte est vraiment a decouvrir!!!

Struttura apparentemente bella...personale che non si sforzava minimamente di parlare italiano ..ogni cartello o deplian era in tutte le lingue fuori l'italiano ..animazione zero..pasti: colazione molto dedicata ai tedeschi e inglesi,il piu delle volte i croissant del giorno prima venivano rimessi fuori,ma solo toccandoli si vedeva che erano secchi..cena discreta

El hotel es muy bonito, las habitaciones están reformadas y el servicio por parte del personal es estupendo. Tengo que agradecer a unos de los animadores, Lolo, que nos hizo pasar unos días muy divertidos en este hotel.

Por otro lado, las almohadas eran muy finas y poco cómodas y había una piscina en obras aunque por esto mismo, nos dejaron gratis el spa.

Bonito lugar, algo alejado perfecto para relajarse. A 10 minutos de la playa. Zona de mucho aire. El hotel muy bien. El desayuno algo caro, pero la comida en el snack bar muy bien. Había una piscina averiada y nos dieron entrega gratis al spa. En coche a 15 minutos de zona turística Morro jable. Recomendado 100 %

Erwachsene die ab 21.30 Uhr nichts mehr zu Essen bekommen, (Restaurantschluss)
Erwachsene die ab 18.00 Uhr den Pool nicht mehr nutzen dürfen,(weshalb wurde nicht erklärt).
Erwachsene die ihr Essen nicht auf der Restaurantterrasse einehmen dürfen, weil...sie die Porzellanteller fallen lassen könnten. Porzellantassen und Gläser „durften“ mit nach draussen genommen werden. Habe nicht verstanden, wo der Unterschied von Schnittverletzung durch Teller- oder Tassenscherben liegt.
Erwachsene die zum Abendessen keinen Kaffee mehr bekommen (könnte wohl das Schlafverhalten negativ beeinflussen ;-) )
Erwachsene die um 00.00 Uhr die \"Disco\" verlassen müssen, (Raum der so genannt wurde ;-) )
Personal (bis auf eine Ausnahme – dieser Mensch kannte das Wort und den Wert des Kunden nicht) höflich aber unflexibel.
Zustand der Zimmer und Anlage...renovierungsbedürftig
Insgesamt... bin der Ansicht, mit über 60 Jahren bin ich (fast) erwachsen und entscheide mich zukünftig nicht mehr für dieses Haus

Hotellihuone oli tukikohtana viikon loman yhteydessä. Huone oli siisti ja mukava, hotellista löytyi kauppa jossa oli kaikkea mitä matkaaja tarvitsee (jos ei muualle jaksanut tai ehtinyt lähteä). Rauhallinen paikka, jossa olisi ollut enemmänkin palveluja jos niitä olisi ollut syytä käyttää.
