Exceptional service! The pool, sauna, cold plunge, and hot tub were great! The breakfast had a lot of variety and was delicious. The hotel is within walking distance from City Park, the Puskas Arena, and the Arena mall. I would highly recommend this hotel for your Budapest trip!

We stayed at the Lions Garden Hotel for a few days during a competition, and I was truly impressed by their hospitality. One day, our event started earlier than usual and the breakfast buffet wasn’t even open yet, but the staff was amazing and let us eat early so we wouldn’t be late. Their kindness and flexibility made our stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommend!

This hotel is in a great location..2 minutes walk from a bus which takes you straight into the city in 15 mins. 15 minute walk from the beautiful City Park and lovely lovely rooms. Breakfast is varied with plenty of hot/cold items (though we missed a toaster) Staff are friendly, pool was great, sauna too. Highly recommend this hotel.

There were many markets near by. The buffet breakfast had a large assortment of breads, meats and cheeses. Wifi was excellent. Pool too cold and hot tub not hot. When cold and wet outside and you need to relax, this was NOT enjoyable. Also, the doorway always had staff and visitors smoking. You had to go thru that to get into the hotel. Interior decor and rooms were excellent and very welcoming. Housekeeping lady we had was awesome.

I had a wonderful stay at The Lion Garden Hotel in Budapest. The hotel itself is very clean, spacious, and beautifully maintained. The staff were welcoming and kind, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. The pool was absolutely amazing and a perfect place to relax. Breakfast offered a great variety and was excellent value for the price. Special mention to the bartenders as well – they were fantastic and really added to the friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Budapest!

It was really great choice, the neighborhood is nice and quite and walking distance from the big part that was amazing. I love the swimming pool which is hard to find in Europe hotel, perfect for the last day with little Jacuzzi and sauna! Highly recommended for everyone :)

Great family stay in Lion's garden Budapest

We had a very nice 3 day stay in Lion's Garden Budapest. Spa was a very nice extra which we didn't know about beforehand. Breakfast was ample, but missing vegan options. Courtyard was very nice for drinks.

Location of the hotel was great, just a few blocks away from the amazing city park and there are plenty of buses to whisk you to the closest metro/tram.

Room was very nice, if a little worn out. But that's what you can expect from a little aged hotel. It did get very warm in the room during the night.

Parking was free on the street, but we took the garage for one day and the ramp leading there is NARROW so be careful.

All in all excellent price/quality ratio for Budapest in high season.

The hotel was clean. I was not happy that they switched our room to a smaller room than was booked. The pool closing hours were inconvenient as well. The fitness center was quite small also. Overall it was an adequate place for a night or two but i was much more pleased with other places we stayed in Budapest for similar prices.

When you book a hotel in a big city during the summer, you expect et to be at warm vacation. That is why we booked this hotel with pool, to give ourself a place cool down after a day of seightseeing. So when the pool doesnt work 3 out of the 4 days you’re Staying you don’t feel you get what you payed for.

Good and close to great facility. The only reason for “close to great” is that I didn’t get a chance to use the included Spa and (charged) breakfast. Location is great, room is great! I got to stay in the room at the top corner facing the church so the unobstructed 270 degree view is unbeatable. Thanks!

Sorry to say that we expecting a bit more, hotel was ok and staff were nice, but our room was a deluxe and just felt like a standard room, spa was ok. Temperature was a bit cold in the hot tub and the pool, it’s faer to say that this is probably why the room and stay was discounted.

Property had no problem holding my reservationas. My initial flights were canceled., 2 days later i arrived,around 11pm. The Elder Gentleman Greeted me very kindly, professionally He made me feel welcome, as that type of greeting was impressive and made an impact on my whole trip. This hotel is amazing. Great service, kind and helpful personal.. Good breakfast... Pity the juice was so bad..... Not a really orange juice... Almost no taste.... Pity... The rest was perfect.
We were disappointed from the certains in the room... No dark certains at all... We woke up every morning at 6:00 because of the strong light. Pity....
The hotel is right by the city park.... And close by to transport bud to centrum. But I have to say that it is an amazing hotel, beautiful and clean. Good breakfast and great internet. But I'm not going to stay in this hotel the next time because the problem with the windows.... All my group had the same problem.... Too much light early in the morning. Next time I will find an hotel with dark windows, so we could sleep. Pity.

This was a basic hotel not a 4 star one but to be fair we requested a quiet room and we are happy to say we got one. Some of the surrounding area near the hotel is undesirable whilst other areas are fine. Breakfast was not good and after the first night we didn't go down for breakfast even thought we paid for it.

The hotel was a good walk away from the main hubbub. The room was lovely. Staff very attentive. Food was excellent. We walked everywhere and covered 26 miles in the 2 days we went sight seeing. Decent range of eating places nearby if we wanted to dine out.

I loved the location of this hotel because it wasn't right smack in the middle of the more touristed districts. The church across the street, the kids walking to and from school made me feel like I was a part of every-day Budapest. I also loved the pool area. It was cozy and clean. The sauna was wonderful. You really get a lot for your money at this pleasant, comfortable hotel.

All things considered, this is a decent hotel

Considering the price paid, this is a perfectly fine hotel. It looks a little dated and tired in areas, but the facilities are good and the overall comfort is of a reasonable standard. The included breakfast was a little limited but good enough. The sauna and spa facilities were good and very quiet which was an added bonus (we went from Sunday to Thursday, so avoided any potential weekend rush). The staff were professional and reliable although a little overly officious when it came to certain things, which was actually fine by me, though I did sense some discontent from other residents. The hotel is a little way out from the centre but we resisted public transport and walked everywhere (half an hour's brisk walk). In fact, I'm very gla that we stayed in this particular area as without having done so, we'd never have discovered the fantastic (in every way possible) restaurant a very short walk away, named Paprika. Overall a perfectly fine experience and for the money, a very good value base for your trip to Budapest.

Easy check in. Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Close to heroes square and park. A little way from central areas and river but very easy and inexpensive to catch a local bus from the end of the road. Breakfast selection excellent. If you don’t want to venture in to town in the evening then the Restaurant for evening meal is very reasonably priced. Would definitely stay here again.

Breakfast was continental style with cold meats, cheese and bread. Pastries and fruit inc sliced watermelon. Then hot eggs and frankfurter type sausages. Tea, coffee and fruit juice. Service stops at 10am/10.30am on the dot and if food runs out there's not much filling up done. Room was nice size and comfy. My bed squeaked when i moved. Make sure you know about the tourist tax thats added on.

The staff in the reception was very good and helpful but
I had very ad experience in the breakfast area. The young girl and the boys were good but the other 2 ladies( middle age) were very rude with us, my daughter found the ladies were rude. I asked the what are vegetarian food there, she reluctantly told me only few items, then rushed away.
Next morning there was few different items wasn't sure because there was no information in English. I asked her which items are vegetarian she answered rudly I told you yesterday why you asking again and then left. I was shocked wither her reply. My daughter was special needs, a lady was rude to her too. Next day she was scared to go to reception area. I had to stay closely with her so that I could keep an eye her. I also found the cleaners are not very efficient, when we entered the room. Dust were everywhere I cleaned myself as I suffered from Asthma (may be the room wasn't ready)
The next day I was really angry to see that the cleaner didn't clean the room properly I showed to the who came to repair the AC. Another things was so annoying the air conditioning was so poor, I saw man was fixing the AC to the next room I asked him to fix our room AC which wasn't working the room was so hot. It was so much humidity out side. We couldn't sleep. The man said he would fixed the AC and the card switch which was hanging out. It doesn't comply with

Hotel with good potential but it is not...

We are a 69 y/old couple, stayed for 11 nights. Hotel is located in a beautiful quiet area, 6-7 bus stops ride to the city center. Breakfast is good, but monotonous (though rotten cucumbers were served some days, with mucus, on another day rotten pineapples).
Housekeeping: the room was cleaned very badly, bathroom cleaning is even worse, tiny shower cabin was practically untouched, used shampoo bottles and corks remained lying on the shower stall floor.
We booked a superior room supposed to be 24sqm (by hotels.com), it actually is 15sqm.
SPA: we went for the first 2-3 days, it was normal, on day 3 it turned out that there was no soap in the men's shower room either in the shower or in the washbasin, there were no sheets and towels, we turned to the receptionist, who calmly said, we will do everything tomorrow ( it was his reaction, don't think about it today at all). We immediately lost the desire to go to SPA. Returned few days later there was soap, but the soap dish was broken and shower was a complete mess... Amenities were at the minimum level.
One of the shower cabins had a used towel hanging for 3 days straight, no one is interested. Female shower sewage is clogged, you are ankle-deep in the water.

Lion's Garden is a comfortable, quiet hotel on the whole but some rooms are in need of updating (I travelled in a party of 7 / 3 rooms). The tv in the room has no English channels except news which was a little frustrating. The hotel has a pool, which was a bit chilly even though said it would be 28C and other spa facilities which was a bonus. Breakfast was plentiful and a lovely courtyard to sit outside weather permitting. There is a bus stop close to the hotel and buses 5 & 7 take you straight into the heart of the City and are regular.

when booking our trip you didn't explain properly that the connecting rooms counted as one room so when we got there what we thought was two rooms was actually four rooms so two rooms we not used for the five days we were there and paid double the price. The hotel its self was really good food at breakfast is good if your not a fussy eater plenty of hot and cold food but a lot of sausages and scrabbled eggs no bacon .

The hotel was very warm and friendly. Our room was just nice for the two of us, the balcony a great view of the neighbourhood. It was very clean and had good air conditioning. The food was amazing we ate breakfast and dinner there most nights. The staff were very friendly and informative at all times. The pool and Spa area was also very relaxing and clean. I cannot find any faults with our stay there. Well worth the money.

This hotel has very good breakfast choices. Hotel staffs are very helpful and welcoming. It’s a pity there is no water boiler for coffee & tea in rooms and the shower water was pretty small. It is not walking distance to all these attractions but public transportation will get you there conveniently.

Felt comfortable and enjoyed lion garden. Service was really good though sometimes challenges with language barrier. Room was spacious compared to another hotel I had stayed in and comfortable. Nice large hotel mirror and plenty dressing space. Also stayed for dinner and drinks and even from hotel experienced local culture. Friendly staff and lovely hotel. Not far from Szechenyi spa 10-15min walk and heroes Square. Buses to city centre and also close to metro and main station.

Lovely hotel, close to city centre.

I came to Budapest for a few days with my friend. The hotel was lovely, accommodating with very nice staff and services. The rooms were well kept and the pool is amazing. Excellent choice of food at breakfast and the meals at dinner were exquisite and reasonably priced. On top of that, the hotel was only about a 25 minute walk from the city centre and a 25 minute drive from the airport. I would certainly come back or recommend this place to a friend!

Start bad - expected a double and had 2 single beds pushed together, not zipped had to zip them ourselves otherwise they were constantly moving. The worst part was 2 single duvets.. I went and requested a double quilt and was given a blanket instead. Not impressed made my stay very uncomfortable with my boyfriend and covers were not suitable when you are used to a double quilt.
Breakfast was good, bit too much meat. Pool was nice a tad cold and dated the hot tub was not hot enough but comfortable. Overall good good location but just the little things are slacking

Decent stay, probably wouldn't again.

I chose to stay here because it appeared on paper to be like a mini-spa, not too far from the bigger ones in Budapest. However, the whirlpool was indicated 34 degrees C, but was never warmer than 30, even though I mentioned it every day of the 5 days I stayed. It never got that warm. There is a dry sauna and pool as well. A cold pool (never filled), and a medium pool I suppose (also never filled). As a spa, it failed. They also did not have a masseur for the first 3 days that I was there. Finally, they had one three days in, but it was much later than I wished. he was good in any case. The room was sufficient - large enough for two people and had the comforts necessary. I wished it would have had a bathtub instead of the very small shower space. The TV channels in English were far too limited and unappealing. The free breakfast was good and had choices of cold and hot items. The area around the hotel is very quiet. The bed was solid but comfortable enough. The room would get unbearably hot at certain times, even though I had completely turned off the climate controls. It also would get too cool in the middle of the night. I had to open and shut the windows each night.

Great staff and service

Overall pleased, pretty much as expected from other reviews and scores. However, I'd like to mention the hotel employees high level of service and discretion, which was top notch. Would definitely book another stay if I planned to live around that area again.
