Small stylish hotel in hilly Theater District
Great area close to many interesting sights and Camoes Square which is a meeting point for many Tours. That square is right next to Baixo- Chiado subway station. It is in one of the hilly areas of Lisbon. Walking down is fine, but I usually took an Uber at the end of my sightseeing instead of walking back up the hill. Immaculate stylishly decorated room. The bathroom is quite small. The room is perfect for one person but a tight squeeze for two people.There is a little elevator with the sliding metal grill on each side of it. There’s really not a lobby – just one employee seated behind a glass pane. No place inside the hotel to get breakfast but cafés are right next-door and the food is delicious.

The room was too small and cluttered. You had to turn sideways to go between the foot of the bed and wall. No place to store . There is no lobby . Just a small checkin. The elavater is scary and the steps were dark and too dangerous. We did not find it comfortable. Only plus was there were many reasturants just next door plus the metro was just around the corner. We stayed 4 nights . Would not want to stay there again.

Location is great, the gentleman at front desk is very nice and they upgraded my room to superior. But other than that I would not recommend the hotel. There's no staff at the hotel overnight. They gave a phone number for emergencies but you cannot call by WhatsApp. The hotel is rather old and dark, which is not great especially when everything is painted black. There wasn't any light in the bathroom sink area. The beddings were clean but I discovered hair and dirt on the bed cover underneath. The couch looked old and worn. The room is not very soundproofed either, I could hear diners chattering at the terrace under my room. I would not stay there again unfortunately.

Charming Boutique Hotel with a Few Surprises: This boutique hotel in the Chiado district was a mixed experience, but overall, it worked for our stay. The room was just as pictured—small, comfortable, clean, and with a lovely city view. However, the rest of the property didn’t live up to expectations. The photos were misleading, as there was no breakfast, dining area, or even a proper lobby. Additionally, upon check-in, we noticed the price displayed was half of what we paid, which was disappointing.
It’s important to note that this is not a full-service hotel. The evening/nightshift female receptionist was unable to assist us with an issue involving the shower, but the morning/afternoon receptionist was absolutely delightful and a huge highlight of our stay.
That said, the location truly cannot be beat. It’s right in the heart of Lisbon, close to all the major districts, making it an ideal base for exploring. If location is your top priority and you’re okay with minimal amenities, this hotel is a good option. It’s all about location, location, location!

The building feels historic, therefor the rooms are not quite as big as I thought but it is a unique stay and highly recommend it if you want a unique Portugal stay.

We enjoyed our stay and the staff were super nice. They upgraded our room and let us check in 2 hours early which was so nice after our flight. It’s in a great location, super close to good restaurants and attractions. The only thing about our room was the bathroom, there was almost no counter space and the shower had mold on the bottom and on the door.

The AC didn’t work in our room so we had to have the windows open, which for our street facing room made things pretty loud. and the room smelled moldy/musky when we got in. Stayed here one night with a friend. The employees were lovely. The room had a dirty towel on the balcony. The throw for the bed was dirty looking. It was very blotchy and bleached in random areas. During the night rhe toilet stopped flushing and we had to get maintenance early in the morning and that ruined our sleep as check in was coming up. The stay was what we needed; a bed to sleep in before flying out.

The property itself was good. Upon arrival, there was nobody at the reception desk (this was at about 8pm). We waited and called out for someone but we had to wait about 10 minutes before anyone showed up. Once someone did, they only gave us our room key and did not explain anything about what the hotel offers (breakfast, when reception is closed, etc.). That was the only downside, otherwise the room was clean and satisfied our needs.

The location of this property is wonderful. Right in the heart of the city close to attractions shopping and dining. Despite being close to everything it is very quiet at night. Check in was easy and even though we arrived early we were able to drop our bags until later. The bad.... not very clean. The tub had hair all over, no place to hang wet towels and the hallway/staircase had a seriously funky smell that was definitely not the best. Also this is most definitely NOT a bed and breakfast as some descriptions say, so if you think food is available-it's not.

Very pleasant staff. We rented three rooms, which at first glance had a cool anesthetic/theatrical feel (silver super graphics on the walks and a fun/quirky decor). But the closer you looked the more problems there were - some more problematic than others. A few examples include missing bathroom doors, broken off and missing soap dispensers at the sink, Q-tip from previous occupant on the floor. In general, the hotal needs lots of little and some large repairs as well as thorough cleanjng. Beds were comfortable and sheets/towels were nice.

The staff was very curt when we checked in. Later other staff was really nice. We were sent off to our room but the keys did not work. So there is no service to help you with luggage if needed. The area around the hotel is nice but the construction starts at early and is very loud. Bathroom was not clean but was too late to complain. So cleaned it ourselves. The bathrobes were ripped and many holes. There was holes in the curtains and damage to a lot of the furniture. After the first staff cleaning we did not get replacement towels or items cleaned. We thought it included breakfast but found out it did not when another guest asked. It was ok as we found a great place down the street. The bed was nice but overall not worth the money.

Walked into the room upon arrival and the room had a bit of a smell. We figured just cause most buildings in Lisbon are on the older side that it was normal. We opened the window and it was fine. Later found out it was the sink drain and ended up having to keep the drain closed and the sink filled with water in order to make it somewhat bearable. It kinda just kept getting worse? We are pretty easy going so didn’t mind too much and make it work as we were only there for a two nights. But might be a bit of a dealbreaker for other people? Despite this, the location was amazing. I love chiado and have only ever stayed in chiado while visiting Lisbon. The area is very safe and you’re in close proximity to restaurants and shopping.

Really loved this property! Super cool & trendy vintage theater themed rooms. Comfy beds & lovely shower, toiletries so I didn’t have to unpack to be ready for my flight in the morning. Super friendly staff in a great location for restaurants & touring the area. Walkable to Metro. Some street noise can be heard but no more than what’s expected given the location. Might only be an issue if you are a super light sleeper. Finding building is a little tricky… could easily walk by it as I did but a quick call to the hotel and I was just a few steps away. Would definitely stay there again.

A great hotel in Lisbon with tons of “unique” character. It is in a bit of disrepair though and does need to have a few things fixed in our room. The black mold in the bathroom was a bit offside. Bed was great, view was great, quiet overall, and amazing location.

There are many cafes and restaurants- Sacramento was recommended by staff and it was delicious- reservations suggested but we went early and managed to get a table for 2. The hotel has a lot of character and not your typical chain type hotel. The entrance/lobby is very tiny. They will do luggage hold for you if you arrive early before check in. The elevator - very old school with doors you pull shut is VERY tiny. If you have more than a carry on size bag it may not hold 2 people. The stairs are fine and dark at first but lights go on as you approach. Our room #24 was ok. The bathroom has a clear door, but it’s down a hallway. We didn’t have any shower amenities like soap/shampoo - not sure if it was forgotten or that’s the way it is, we were too tired to ask about it and had our own, but if you’re counting on it you may want to confirm. Although advertised as a B&B, there is no breakfast, but many places a few steps away.

No staff are onsite overnight and someone got trapped in the elevator at 2:30am. The whole hotel was awake for over an hour with all the noise. The fire dept eventually came but by then other guests got him out. The hotel is on a loud and bright-all-night corner and they charge for everything. I recommend booking elsewhere.

Front desk attendant blatantly refused to listen to get to the bottom of the miscue. They insisted we called Expedia ourselves. Front desk was rude and unprofessional. Elevators are tiny, old and scary. No cart or help is available for those with lot of luggages. Room was musty and has a smell of mold. My wife and I woke up several times with dry throat and lips. Air quality was so bad my toddler son left the hotel with sore throat and cold symptoms. We spent two weeks across Portugal in several hotel/ suites and by far the worst stay. Will not return or recommend this place.

The property had lots of character in the decor of the rooms and elevator. It was in the perfect location to walk to lots of shopping, dining, and nightlife. The front door never stayed locked as it had to be pulled tight and guests popping in and out never followed the sign. However the area overall felt safe.

The room smelt and had visible mould, the air conditioner was full of fungi and mildew. We found a few silverfish and small brown cockroaches in the room. We had to sleep with the air conditioner off and as a result opened the windows where we were eaten alive by mosquitos. On top of this concierge person was not helpful and the reception area was more like a security booth not a 4 star hotel. Not worth the money we payed for the room these should be max 70 euro/night no more or you will feel ripped off

A very unique property centrally located. Funky rooms with slightly inefficient room shapes, small bathrooms, but interesting artistic flourishes. Old elevator clunks up and down, the front desk person is literally not very visible, but we felt safe. Cleaners came but one day we had ripped towels and the other day we had a robe instead of a bath towel.

NO SERVICE IN THE HOTEL, although it says Food And Drink and Room Service. They do NOT have a breakfast room or food. Our mini fridge wasn’t working but replaced quickly. Coffee maker on a very high shelf so I’d you’re under 5’4”… great Location!!!
