Great breakfast. Clean room and spacious. Nice helpful staff. The entire city uses heavy perfumes in their cleaning detergents and I find it nauseating but it is a standard here in Spain I think.

A good, few frills option for an overnight stay. I stayed in the hotel because it’s right beside the ALSA bus station and I had an early bus the next morning. There is a metro station nearby and lots of restaurants within walking distance. The room was clean, comfortable bed and quiet. The hotel is used by a couple of airlines for crew.

Never again.

Terrible customer service. On our first day, shortly after check in we reported to the front desk that the air conditioning in our room did not work. They never fixed it during our the day stay, despite continued requests. It was so hot we could not sleep. Must disappointing was their insurance and lack of caring. Do not stay there.

The air conditioner was not working and it was very hot on the day and for that reason I couldn't sleep. There were ants all over the room, bathroom included and I had to protect my belongings from them. I couldn't hold the window open because the holder was broken so it was very uncomfortable in the room.

I stayed for one night but really enjoyed this hotel. It’s so close to two main stations, spacious and clean rooms. And the staff really made the stay great, from start to finish they were sweet and professional. I forgot a bag in the fridge and when I came back the cleaning staff were diligent in tracking it down along with reception. Something small but dealt with very quick and efficiently. Also, they have a great little bar for evenings ☺️

Good first 2 days in Madrid - Nice!

Great stay for starting to see Madrid - close to airport and away from the hustle and bustle of Centro and Sol Madrid - it is accessible by the Metro (pick the T10 tickets from the Metro and reuse it). Staff are very friendly and helpful. The nearby cafes/restaurants and the supermarket are the extra comforts of this place. Fernando from the front desk was great!

Great stay, central location (for my work), close to Metro and very reasonably priced. My bed linen was new but there was a long strand of black hair on the bed which did put me off a little bit. A/C - not sure if it was working properly as put it to 18’o C and still not cool enough on full blast fan. Overall good experience, good friendly staff and decent Continental brekkie.

The local area was ok, Volapie was a lovely tapas place just across the road. Not much else around, very close to Real Madrid Stadium (1.5 miles walk). Metro station literally outside. Safe area but you would need to go on the Metro to see anything.
Staff were so friendly and helpful despite us being there on a very busy weekend.

Business Trip and Pleased!

They were very acomidating, especially since I added a friend to the reservation and she was staying an additional night before I got there. We were able to keep the same room so she didn’t have to move. The bar downstairs was fantastic! The only complaint is the area is pretty boring, not lacking in good food, but not really the historic Madrid any tourists would want. I was here on business though so I didn’t mind. Anything you could want was a short metro ride away!

Abba was OK. The air conditioning didn't work so the room was hot. The beds were just OK. The front desk staff was nice. I got woken up early every morning from doors slamming from the cleaning staff. My room was right across from the linen room which was frustrating. I would stay here again, despite these imperfections because of the nice lobby and bar.

Handy for airport -20 minutes away and close to some excellent restaurants. This was a family visit as son lives around the corner, close to AC hotel. ABBA is cheaper and much nicer atmosphere imo. This was our third stay 👍

Quiet clean smart hotel handy for the metro

We stayed for four nights, the room was made beautiful again every day when we returned from exploring the city. Bathroom cleaned and beds made to look like we hadn’t slept in them. Would stay again and would recommend to others. Good price too.

Not near the Prado

I stayed at this hotel specifically because hotels.com said it was near the Prado museum. When I got to the hotel, they said the museum was an hour walk away and that it is nowhere near the Prado. This hotel is not near anything. No restaurants around, no bars, really nothing. They would not refund my night and let me stay somewhere else. Beds are very hard. That said, hotel staff the next day were very nice and helpful. I took a bus and was at Prado in twenty minutes and took at $15 cab back. Would not stay here again though.

a sting in the tail with charges

The hotel was fine - i have stayed there before. Good selection of eating places in the area. what was't so good was breakfast - i felt it was overpriced. Also, i have just received my latest credit card bill and i don't know if this is a hotels.com thing or an Abba Hotels thing by my credit card was credited with an amount and then charged with an amount - there was a difference of 88 pence between the amounts because of the exchange rate used. I'm not sure why this happened and can't get through to hotels.com by phone. But i guess i won;t be using either again.

Room was large and very clean. Hotel location is just a 5 minute walk to the Ave. de las Americas bus terminal which provides city bus service to the airport and other areas as well as inter city service to other areas in Spain. Several good restaurants very close by.

The hotels around Madrid's airport didn't appear to have anything to do around them so I elected to move closer to the city and I wanted to be close to a metro stop. PLEASE NOTE THE HOTEL PHONE NUMBER PUBLISHED ON THE EXPEDIA WEBSITE IS FOR A DIFFERENT AND FORMER ABBA HOTEL. THE CORRECT NUMBER IS+34 912 12 50 00I. The hotel is a 15 minute cab ride and cost €30 or a 40 minute subway ride with 2 changes for €5.50. Sound the hotel are restaurants and bars that service the local population. There are places of all different price points. The metro stop is about 50 yards from the entrance. The English speakers are few and far between.

Excellent hotel, nothing too much trouble for staff. We hired a car to get from the airport but what a waste. The metro system is so good in Madrid and there is a station on the doorstep.
We didn't take advantage of the breakfast but we did have a coffee with small pastry every morning for €2. We used the restaurant which was very quiet, lovely food and very good value for money.
The hotel was comfortable and clean. Will be returning.

Spacious Room but Old Amenities

The hotel was not located as near to the city centre as I had imagined. Having said that the hotel was located within a stone's throw from a Metro station which was a major attribute.

The staff are friendly and helpful. My room was comfortable and large, and the only criticism I have of about the room is - it was old. My safe and toilet were not working and a technician was called in fix the problems.

Not a 4 star hotel. Not even close!

This hotel made me question how stars are given as this by far is the worst 4 star hotel I have ever stayed at and I do not understand how it could have 4 stars. I would call it a mediocre 3 star hotel at best. Most 3 star hotels are better so it confuses me this star rating.

We stayed at Abba Madrid for two nights and just can not fault anything. The room was excellent and beautifully clean. The staff were very friendly and exceptionally helpful. We are so impressed we have booked a night at Abba Santander on our homeward journey and hope this will live up to the same standard! Thanks a lot to all at the hotel for such a pleasant stay.

Awesome!!

Stayed at this hotel for six nights while visiting a friend who lives in Madrid. Very clean, spacious, and a good deal! Breakfast was good, but a little pricey, so if you're on a budget I would skip it. Very close to the metro/bus station and also in a quiet neighborhood. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

We stayed at abba Madrid during two nights. We left to a different hotel because the bed was just too hard plus instead of being a real king we got two twins put together each of them with their own bedding set so basically my wife and I slept completely isolated from each other. The bed was just weird. Other than that the room was clean and appliances new.

Hotel was really nice. Metro at the door that you can use to get anywhere. Easy to drive to and from if you are driving and easy to get to using public transportation if you are coming from the airport or the train station. My family and I got a suite on the 11th floor and it was really nice. My only concern was the pillows were not the fluffiest.

First Visit to Madrid

We enjoyed our first visit to Madrid at the Abba Hotel. Excellent acomodations and friendly and helpful staff who spoke English. We loved this hotel, just a couple blocks to the Metro, but a couple days we just walked to places, 15 to 20 blocks, then rode the Metro back when we were tried. We would definitely stay here again and hope we will return.
