This is a fantastic hotel. Great rooms, comfy beds and the decor on each floor is amazing. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful too. The observatory bar and resteraunt has great veiws over the city and the hotel is only 15mins from the siaport by taxi and has a metro station conveniently located 150m away. Will be staying again, its faultless.

I can Definitely recommend this property. Customer service was nice, but everything has to be the room service, which is annoying. They do not have a mini bar. Towels were good , the bathroom toiletries were OK but bathroom lighting was terrible so doing my makeup difficult. Bed was comply and the housekeeping guy was really nice. Location was good, around the corner from a supermarket and a lot of stores and also close to the center price was really affordable.

The hotel itself is impressive however, we entered our room and the carpet was a very light colour and there was stains on it everywhere which made us feel like the room was not clean.
The blackout blind was broken and when we reported they temp fixed it then repaired following day.
Staff service was great however in our opinion the rooms require attention to detail and cleanliness standard raised.

Rooms are weird, no kettle or mirrors. No gluten free food in the restaurants only minimal at breakfast. Sky bar was absolutely rude not welcoming at all. Apart from the metro being close that is the only thing going for it. It’s a very corporate business hotel not comfy for leisure.

Not a bad place to stay

Room was very clean. They forgot my complimentary water bottles the first day but they showed up the next day. Be careful at the bar. If they ask your room number make sure you clear your tab all the way. I paid for everything while I was there but when I checked out there was one drink they claim I hadn’t paid for. Other than that it was a decent hotel with a great location. Very short walk to the train which really helps.

Nice hotel in a good location and easy to access the centre via metro station close by. Unusual theme of rooms on each floor.One of the main restaurants was closed when we were there and would have expected water bottles being available daily to guests in a hotel of this standard, especially in the searing heatwave while we stayed. Breakfast was good with lots of options. Staff were friendly and professional.

Property needs some maintenance/renovations. Carpets were very stained in first room. We went back down to the desk and they moved us to a different room. Carpets in that room were frayed and bleached (the carpet was black-so no visible stains). Housekeeping and staff were excellent. We stay there every year when we go to Spain, so we were disappointed.

The hotel is well situated with many transportation options. The Categema metro stop is 2 blocks away so it was very easy to go into the city center within a few minutes. The neighborhood is over for travelers as there is a supermarket around the corner and many finding options available outside the hotel. The guest rooms are modern, and the hotel staff was very professional.

Was given a room in this space age white floor and the carpet in the room was disgusting - so dirty that I did not even want to stand on it in my bare feet. Hotel needs to get some fundamentals right like providing a clean room to its valuable guests. Should have offered compensation for 3 out of 4 nights I was in the room and not tried to make out they had no idea the floor was like that!

Rooms were nice, broken shower, broken bidet, refrigerator broken, shower floor broken. The trash can in the bathroom was also broken. They should consider fixing or replacing the amenities . We had to relocate to another room. Things were still not in good shape.

Excellent with few missing puzzles.

I stayed at a room designed by late Zaha Hadid. I felt if I was in another planet thanks to her extraordinary design taste. The location was good as it was only 5 minutes away from a subway station.
Downside was there was no coffee maker (which is a standard at any hotel in the world) and they do not provide water bottles expect first two bottles no matter how long you stay (I stayed 3 nights).

Arrived on a beautiful sunny day. The check in was seamless and the staff was very friendly.

The rooms are themed and very clean and functional.

I stayed on the second floor and I can assure you that there was no noise from outside.

Only complaint was that the electrical plugs were not by the bedside and there was a steamer instead of an iron. But major problems, but I had to learn to steam in short time.

The staff was friendly and helpful, the hotel was safe and well situated for my business purposes.

All in all I would go back.

This is a convenient and friendly hotel. Each floor has a unique design, but without compromising convenience for \"creativity\".

The staff is iinvariably helpful and responsive - with both internal hotel matters and outside bookings and recommendations.

Not in the very center of the city. Yet, the hotel is just a 15 mins trip from the airport and it has a short and easy public transport, walking and taxi connection to the central parts of Madrid, as well as to various parks and attractions around town.

Our new go-to hotel in Madrid

It was our first time at Hotel Puerta de America and we loved it! We enjoyed grabbing a meal and drinks with friends on the rooftop. We also appreciated the excellence of the housekeeping staff. Every day, we would come back to a room that was immaculately clean and stocked with fresh towels & bathroom amenities. The bed was also spacious and super comfy. We’ll definitely be back!

We have a great week at the hotel, was beautiful and with close access to the metro. Employees were friendly and assisted at all times, buffet area was great and my family enjoy the hotel. Definitely would comeback back on another trip to Madrid, is not in the center but the are is perfect and have good restaurants near.

Dont let them book you the Star Wars floor

They put us on a floor called Star Wars. The room was so bare it was like staying in a YMCA. My wife booked this as a treat as she stayed there in the summer and said it was a luxurious hotel. The rest of the hotel was luxurious. Our room definitely wasn’t.

Definitely a futurist hotel. Looks really good and all the floors are unique and differents.
Overall the room was clean, but the carpet was very dirty, which was unpleasant.

Also, maybe the rooms should come with some instructions, cause we found it super complicated to adjust the AC.. We couldn't figure it out, and after multiple attempts, decided to call staff for help.

Overall great experience! Also the restaurant has really good food, and their sweet sureau was fire!

Little bmol, no complimentary tea/coffee and water only on the day of arrival.

So if you are looking for a slightly quirky comfortable hotel, this is a great choice.

No airport shuttle

Beautiful rooms. We were on the 11th floor. Buffet breakfast is really impressive. But it said that there was a airport shuttle and there is none. Taxi was 33€ (fixed price). This hotel is far from everything!! They do have a restaurant on site but if ever i m in Madrid again I wouldn’t stay here just because there isn’t anything close

A great hotel located near metro station. The room was clean and well designed although was tired in some places, some of the furniture could do with replacing and the carpet too. Excellent staff and very attentive. Breakfast was great too , lots of choices, hot and cold selection, fresh fruit was delicious. I would definitely stay here again and love to experience a room on a different floor as each one is themed different - some very crazy but brilliant designs.

A very modern hotel renowned for the architecture. Unusual settings of each room. Electric curtains, open shower. The facilities in the room were good but lacking in the basics. There is no coffee/ tea station in the room. To turn the curtains on or off, one had to go to the room entrance door. Wish it was near the bedside. There were no electric points next to the bedside..

Everything was excellent except the outlets. We had to request extension cord to be able to use our phone charger. Good thi g is that the service man provided it right away, so it was taken care of within few minutes.
It would've been appreciated if they had a table to put some stuff like in room breakfast, small microwave etc.
Also refrigerator was not working right. Even after you keep water bottles in it overnight, it won't cool down.
One final thing, shower / tub was open to sink and toilet seat, so it will wet those areas after you take shower. It would have been better if they had a shower curtain also or the shower head can be turned towards the wall to prevent mist spilling outside of the shower area.
Vanity mirror vitually becomes useless die to fog after the shower due to inefficient ventilation.
But let reiterate that despite of all of these issues it was awesome room with unique space ship theme.

By booking with Expedia, I was allowed to check in four hours early, which was HUGE as I could get into my room and sleep after an 8-hour flight from NYC.
As an architect, this hotel is special, as the rooms on each floor are designed by different architects, many of them world-famous.

Overall I didn’t like the property. In my room, the shades didn’t work and there was no blackout lines. The rooms are big, however, they’re tired and old. No coffee machines in room, I was charged 5 Euros for a machine coffee. Breakfast as not worth the money. The property is on the highway and far from Madrid.

My stay was comped for a meeting so I don't know the cost. This hotel is in the periphery, a long cab ride from the center. Not much in the walkable nearby.
The hotel is completely unique. Every floor has a different designer. Our floor was David Copperfield, all black. Rooms are similarly quirky and interesting. Beds very comfortable.
Vast outdoor public spaces, pool, cocktail lounges, restaurants make this a very pleasant option. Good food and drink at reasonable prices. Everyone was very pleasant, spoke English and didn't laugh at my poor efforts in Spanish.

This hotel is about a 20ish taxi ride to city center, museums, Gran Via. There’s no bus or metro access. Hotel directly off a freeway. No room service. Very limited dining. Carpet was stained. Not convenient at all.

We were excited to stay in a 5 star hotel. But I wouldn’t give this hotel even 3. Check-in staff was very courteous. We had emailed in advance to ask for a kettle, but were told on arrival there weren’t any and would be given hot water instead. 3 calls and an hour later, we finally got a kettle minus even a tea-bag. The rooms were quirky but the open plan meant the shower cubicle has no door and opened up at the bedroom area. The toilet door didn’t stay shut and kept opening up. Would only suit a couple sharing this room.
No power sockets near the bed, makes it inconvenient at night to have your phone nearby. The hotel is over-designed but not overly practical. The pool isn’t heated. They keep a deposit of 50Euro per night in case of expenses, but there isn’t even a minibar. So I didn’t see the point of it. It took 5 days for the amount to be credited back.

The staff is excellent! We enjoyed the hotel, and stayed in one of the Norman Foster-designed rooms. We were a bit frustrated by the complexity of turning the lights on and off, and noisiness of the bed when getting in and out. Flushing the toilet meant putting your entire body weight behind pushing the button and bending way down to do that. Other than those details, we were happy with our stay, and would absolutely return.
