First time staying at this hotel and I can say the best part was the room. Clean, modern, has all the essentials you need for a short stay, comfortable pillows, comfortable bed and a spacious bathroom. A few blocks away from Serrano’s shopping hotspots but you can say the hotel “is in the area”. You get what you pay for.

We stay for 2days, the promise to fix the light and till last minutes they claim that is fixed but was not. There were sand in the floor. Our room was too tight but my sister was spacious even we pay the same thing.

El hotel es muy bueno y tiene un buen servicio. En mi caso, sin embargo, tuve la mala experiencia de que dejé mis zapatos. Contacte de inmediato para que los aseguraran pero el hotel tiene procedimientos muy tardados y burocráticos para ello. El resultado fue que mis zapatos nunca aparecieron.

The hotel is starting to look worn out, jaded, or dated. The a/c room vents were extremely dirty. The shower's water temperature fluctuated too much, and there wasn't enough lighting in the rooms.

If you are traveling to Madrid we will highly recommend this place. It is true European hospitality with smiles all around. Very clean, rooms are great, service is amazing, breakfast is full of options and the staff ready to help and serve. We walked everywhere from the hotel and taxi always available in front of the hotel if you need one. BTW what we learned is ride sharing and taxi costs in Spain are the same, so take the taxi.
Not to mention the price of this hotel is very reasonable compared to others. We stayed for a week

This hotel is highly recommended. We had an enjoyable stay. With very attentive and pleasant staff. The breakfast was a treat!!!! So many options to choose from.

There's a taxi stand right in front of the hotel. All places of attraction can be reached easily by bus too.Should i find myself in Madrid again, i will definitely go back.

We loved this hotel!!! The rooms were comfortable and everything is well
thought out to make you feel like royalty(get it? Spain has a king).Breakfast was delicious with a really excellent array of options to choose from. The best best part is the staff, everyone we had contact with were absolutely spectacular and went out of their way to make you feel welcome. I especially want to thank Diego, who was very helpful and Gema the hostess at the restaurant. That said everyone and I mean everyone was a pleasure to deal with. Highly recommend this hotel!

I was very excited to visit this hotel but it didn’t live up to my expectations.
Check in lacked empathy and wasn’t very inviting, wasn’t requested to take a seat or offered any welcome drink. It was a process and lacked attention. 4/10.
The lobby is very small and crammed, we waited over an hour for the room. The lobby toilets need attention and better cleaning. 4/10
While waiting we had a drink at the bar, which was decent with a selection of cocktails and wines but lacked ambience and attention. 6/10
The lifts are very small but relatively quick.
Tranquility Room, although I specifically requested a room with more natural lighting this was a real let down. The room was very dark and very dim. The room itself is small and inviting with a comfortable bed and decent space for storing belongings. Room overall 7/10 and bathroom which was spacious and equipped with amenities more aesthetically pleasing 9/10
The hotel did acknowledge it was our anniversary and sent complimentary cava to our room which was a kind gesture. 10/10
Breakfast was probably the most pleasing with an array of selection and choice of fruits, breads, a la carte options and cava for breakfast. Waiters aren’t so attentive, had to request cutlery twice and noticed tables weren’t cleared promptly. 9/10
Overall the hotel was satisfactory, general cleaning standards are good but felt more of a 4*. It lacks invite and early check in/late check out requests seemed to be dismissed.

Absolutely brilliant hotel the staff are fantastic they go out of their way to make sure your stay is good.
Our check in was at midnight and the guy on reception gave us a 5 star welcome.
In our room they’d left us fresh cakes and waters .
Breakfast is a great full buffet with eggs on order in every way . Good quality food fresh breads and upmarket coffee couldn’t fault it .
The staff definitely make this hotel special
Metro very nearby and you can walk to this amazing park with great reasonably priced restaurants.
Highly recommend.

Solid hotel in great location with good service.

This is my second time staying at barcelo. Excellent location. Close to main spots but far enough so the outside streets are quiet.

The staff are friendly and attentive. The room is ok nice but with really nice tub & a separate shower. This visit my room 212 was in a bit worse condition than my previous room. Door to bathroom wouldn’t close properly & the doors to toilet & shower would get stuck to floor.

The AC works but is weird. You can have it at lowest setting and you won’t hear or feel heavy air blow out. But it. Does get the room cold eventually. We got cold at night.

I appreciate that the room. Came with mini fridge and complimentary water, plus turndown service. The bed is comfortable. I would recommend they update their tv programming to allow guests to stream Netflix, etc.

One annoyance was being charged extra to get into room early. I came from overnight flight. If the room has been cleaned and prepped, why charge someone an extra $75 euros. Just feel it should be complimentary at that point.

Absolutely loved this hotel. Rooftop bar and pool was perfect, and the staff can't do enough for you. It loses a star for tiny things, being:

1. Bed was two singles pushed together, so I kept losing a limb down the middle. Not ideal for couples who like a cuddle.

2. Towels were a bit hard.

3. A couple of plug sockets didn't work.

Would definitely stay here again though.

The staff at the Barcelo Emperatriz was outstanding. The hotel was spotless, the room very comfortable and very well designed. The hotel is also very conveniently located for attractions, my work and transportation. I would recommend this property and its staff to anyone. My only small issue was a very poor fitness center with equipment that did not work and inadequate free weights.
