The hotel wasn’t as clean as I expected, I have well managed asthma, I haven’t had a flare up in years but while staying at the hotel I found it dusty and my allergies flared up. The carpets were dirty and I woke up sneezing daily. I travel often and never experienced this.

I can’t recommend this hotel enough. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The area was quiet and safe - there are government buildings nearby so there are armed guards on the street at all hours (but not in a scary way). I would 100% feel safe staying here as a solo traveler. The room had just enough space and a lovely rain shower. Free breakfast help us save a good bit of money each day. And the location is near several metro stations, and great shopping and restaurants (Check out Bar Tomate). I would absolutely stay here again.

Great hotel in Salamanca. Quiet, room darkening shades, very strong water pressure. Beautiful neighborhood, across the street from a government building therefore there are a few guardia civil on the street all the time. Definitely feels safe. Close to Colon metro, a little further out from the center and closer to high end shopping, Plaza de colon and walkable to Chueca. Small restaurant for breakfast

Truthfully this is probably the best stay of my trip and in Europe overall. The room are very remodeled and they are very big, at least the one I stayed at that was to share between 3 people. Very spacious from the room, the bathroom, the closet. It's in a very secure area and for the most part very quite and in a great location. Everyone was very nice and the breakfast was very tasty. I was there for my bday and they even brought up some dessert for me.

Staff is Outstanding

We had 2 nights reserved. When we arrived, they gave us an upgrade to the rooftop room that had a huge terrace. It was rather small, made of black wood and navy-blue wallpaper. There were no night tables, a useless mirrored buffet (?), and a tiny bathroom. And it was too hot to stay outside enjoying the large terrace. So, the following day, we asked to be downgraded back to what we had reserved. They gave us a bright sunny room, with large night tables, lots of places to keep our clothes, and a lovely large bathroom. It had no balcony, but as I mentioned before, it was too hot to use one. The staff was extra nice! A special thanks to Maria who understood our need and gave us a good recommendation for tapas. I didn’t like their way of serving breakfast: it’s a la carte, but different. The location is very good in Salamanca, just 2 blocks away from the sophisticated Calle Serrano, the starred restaurants, and Prado and Reina Sofia Museums. But if you’re going to Madrid for those touristic Plazas, Palaces and Churches, it’s far.

Didn't live up to expectations

We stayed at the Pavilions at NY 2023/24. From reviews the hotel looked amazing - we'd been to Madrid a few times before and stayed in nice hotels, so I was looking forward to this one.

It was nice, but was let down in a few areas.

Firstly - the bar (or lack of). The hotel was advertised as having a bar, an important point for us. It does have a bar, but......it shuts at 3pm every day!!

On hotels.com it's shown as simply \"a bar\" (hotels.com take note), but it's the only 4* hotel bar I've ever heard of that never opens later than 3pm! So - nowhere to go for a pre-dinner drink, or a last drink after an evening out. Really disappointing.

Secondly, some of the hotel just seemed, well, tired. Both in condition and upkeep. Little things, but all added together made a for a feeling of a hotel on the decline. The welcome mat when we walked in needed a serious vacuuming. The chairs at check-in didn't have feet on them so made an awful screech when you pulled them up to the desk. The info screen in one of the 2 lifts didn't work. The ironing board I requested was a tiny travel one that was really difficult to use, old, dog eared and shabby. The paint was peeling in our bathroom. The sofa in our room was stained. The complimentary umbrella in the stand was broken. The TV in our room didn't work.

None of these in isolation is a big deal. But a lot of little things like this, as well as the bar situation, made The Pavilions a bit of a let down compared to how it markets itself.

My sister and I stayed here for four nights in two single rooms. We loved our stay. This hotel is on a quiet street that was lovely to retreat to at the end of a busy day, but it is also extremely convenient if you are a traveler who enjoys walking to get to know the city. Almost everything we wanted to do was a 20-30 minute walk away and the few things further out were easily accessible by Metro. The service was attentive and kind without being intrusive. And the option for room service was very welcome as we acclimated to the time change. Highly recommend The Pavilions.

Perfect for us

Only one night, transiting. Was a perfect location to visit shops and the Central Park to get a good sense of the heart of Madrid in one short trip. All places we wanted to go we’re walkable. And the Michelin-rated restaurant Saddle was across the street and we were lucky enough to get a reservation at 1:30 after check out (after failing to get a reservation the night before) and stored our luggage at the hotel. Very convenient .

Very good stay

The bed was very comfortable, the room in general very good, the bathroom was clean and great looking. It included the breakfast that was good and also included in the room nespresso capsules (4 capsules). The only minor issue I had was that I needed to work for some hours and the room did not have a desk... it had a coffee table, but no chair, there was like a kind of bench that I used as a seat, but was not comfortable to work. Besides of that, very good stay., and the girls at the front desk really nice people.

In a quiet part of Madrid, a 20 min to the museums and botanical gardens. Small hotel with well appointed rooms. Comfortable bed, fridge, coffee maker, good number of hangers. Nice bathroom with good powerful shower and good quality amenities.
Breakfast excellent continental with omelette and scrambled eggs on request. Only negative….. the glass roof in the breakfast room needs a thorough clean outside!

We stayed for a week with my 20 year old son and two of his friends. The staff are as advertised: competent, helpful and friendly. The hotel is immaculate and comfortable and the breakfast is delicious and a very good deal. We love the quiet but convenient location. We will be back again!

The Pavilions in Madrid was a real treat. It's a boutique hotel with outstanding decor and art that is located in a very nice neighborhood. There is a lot of shopping, restaurants and art galleries nearby. You can walk to the central park and many of the museums in 20 minutes or less. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. We highly recommend this place and will look forward to staying there again.

My stay at this hotel was good. Staff is friendly. Rooms are comfortable and well designed. Breakfast is also good.

On the less positive side, the hotel staff are seen out of their roles often. Like the chef at reception holding a big container of mayonaise while talking to reception staff, or housekeeping staff making herself breakfast in the middle of breakfast service.
Lastly, the heating system in the rooms is way too hot and even when off, its unbearable at night with the thick blankets.

Boutique Hotel gem

The Pavilions offered a relaxing stay in Madrid! Rooms are well decorated, clean, and comfortable. Rooms are updated with lots of USB ports for ease of charging devices and provided a tablet.The bathroom was excellant and had the most amazing shower! Enjoyed the bath products provided, as well as the coffee bar and provided bottled waters. Staff was very kind and accommodating. Fun artwork in the lobby added visual interest. The one major thing to note is that the hotel is right next to Spain's Ministry of the Interior, so there is armed security 24/7 and no parking allowed on the block. Street parking nearby can be tough to find as well, but the hotel does have a small parking garage available. It does take a while to get in and out though, as it is a car lift that must be operated via key access from hotel staff. It was however a great option to be able to secure our car for a few days. It was a great location to upscale Madrid shopping and restaurants. Easy walk to nearby sites like Retiro Park, Cibelles Plaza, Gran Via, and the museums. Gym in building was small, but newer equipment and weights made it efficient!

Superb modern hotel in a nice area of Madrid. Space is at a premium and the standard rooms are compact but very well designed and well equipped. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff.
The only small negative was noise, a small amount from upstairs and from the corridor in \"rush hour\", not helped by us having a room by the lift.
Bathroom was top class with a great shower and all the knobs and whistles.
We chose breakfast out and, although there was a menu on the wall outside, didn't see much evidence of a working restaurant. There are many good places to eat in close proximity in any case.
We'd happily go back here, hard to imagine how it could be better run.

The hotel is located in a quiet street amongst some important international and government buildings (embassies / ministeries) so the restaurants are good quality and like most folks in Madrid are friendly - they are also quite reasonably priced.

The rooms are spacious and clean. The coffee provided is Nespresso. The shower is amazing and the people are great. The breakfast is more than plentiful but is set. Each day is the same. Lovely but repetitve. We dined in once and the food was cordon blemish - beautiful but expensive so we generally ate out. The bed is comfortable and you have complete control of the air conditioning. We would definitely use Pavilions again

Great design, not only from aesthetics point of view but also functionality. Plug points for e-devices were super (including USB ports!). And finally someone has come up with universal points so that the traveller doesn't have to carry adaptors around. (Well, we still do for other places.) Service was excellent at the front desk (on all occasions and with different staff) and also in the dining area. We had breakfast every day and the lady in charge was very efficient, courteous and pleasant. Overall, we were impressed with the efficiency, courtesy, and effortless service. Location was pretty good, within walking distance of many eating places and other spots. We would definitely stay here again.

Lovely boutique hotel situated on a quiet street within easy walking distance of Serrano, Peurta Alcala and Chueca. A 20 Minute walk to the Prado. If you travel in warm weather ask for Rooms 601 or 602 or the PH on the 7th floor all of which have outstanding terraces and views. We had an issue with a loud family on our floor and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. They gave us a quite room for the night and moved us to the PH for the duration of our 5 night stay and offered us wine and cheese and complementary breakfasts. The rooms have all recently been decorated in a very tasteful contemporary style. The 15EUR continental breakfast is very good and the restaurant is excellent if a bit quiet. It seems that it has not yet been discovered. Service is prompt but not quite on a par with the food. The lack of fluent English may have been the issue.. The food was the best we had in Madrid. Altogether, very good value for money.

Was great value. Clean modern and quiet location. For sure is a government business area so everything closed on weekends but no problem walk 20 mins or 2 or 3 stops on the subway to the tourist action areas.
