Beautiful lobby, excellent restaurant, great bar, and truly outstanding staff. Everyone was friendly, proactive, and professional throughout the stay. Breakfast was fresh and high quality, with both buffet and table service options. The massage treatment was very good, and cleanliness across the hotel was impeccable. Location is ideal: central yet calm at night.

However, the biggest disappointment was the room. I stayed in a Deluxe Queen at nearly €500 per night and the quality did not match the price or the common areas. The design felt below average, the bed was extremely soft and uncomfortable, and the pillows caused neck pain. Bathroom fittings felt loose, shower sealing leaked water onto the floor, and overall the room experience was underwhelming for this category and rate. I stayed in much cheaper hotels with much better rooms.

Pricing across the hotel is very high. €170 for a massage, cocktails close to €20, and €40 extra for spa access despite already paying premium room rates feels excessive. The spa is clean and pleasant but small and not exceptional.

Overall, strong service and atmosphere, but room quality and pricing do not fully align with a luxury positioning.

Great location and really nice hotel — stylish and comfortable rooms. Only downside was a few surprise charges: they have a coffee machine in the room but charge for the pods (a first for me!), and spa access isn’t included (additional €35pp), even though that wasn’t mentioned on listing on Hotels.com (and trying to get hotels.com to rectify this has been a nightmare which is still ongoing). If you do want to stay here probably better to book direct if you plan to use the spa as they have rates with spa usage included.

A different and amazing place

This is a great place, in a more residential area compared to downtown near Gran Via, but full of activities are in walking distance, nearby. The staff is fabulous, the feel is modern and private. We had a wonderful stay (2nd time) and would return! The only thing I would add is a yard or a rooftop terrace... :-)

Hotel Ursa was in a quiet and pretty neighborhood but still had the convenience of a big metro station nearby, good restaurants and interesting shops a short walk away (and in some cases across the street!)
And, it was a beautiful luxurious hotel with a very friendly and helpful staff.

This is the first time I’ve given a low rating to this property, which I’ve stayed at multiple times and usually enjoyed. Unfortunately, my most recent experience felt different—something was missing, particularly the personal touches and attention to detail that I’ve appreciated in the past.

It’s possible this was an isolated incident, perhaps related to booking through Expedia, as some hotels tend to assign less favorable rooms for third-party reservations.

I hope this serves as a constructive red flag for management. I truly value this property and would love to see it return to the high standards that made me a repeat guest.

Beautiful property with a very luxurious feel. Staff were all incredibly friendly and accommodating. The piano in the lobby at night was a lovely bonus. Rooms were cleaned daily and water/chocolates provided in the evenings. Everything was clean and the rooms were very quiet. We were on the first floor directly across from the breakfast/brunch room - we like to sleep in late and we were never woken by noise in the morning. Location was excellent, right across from a nice little coffee shop and a market. Walking distance to the centre of town and easy access to transit. Could not recommend it more. I will definitely be back the next time I am im Madrid.

well first of all when you walk in the door it smells amazing. You don't touch your bags, they got us into our room hours early. The area around the hotel is so quaint and trendy and convenient. we were in a suite which was beautifully furnished I definitely recommend. this is our second time at URSO and we will be back

This is an amazing hotel, and the staff does their best to give you the best experience. The room was really comfortable. I would return to this hotel.
I enjoyed the piano time and breakfast.
I only had a poor experience at the hotel restaurant over dinner, which did not match the expectations created by the high-quality hotel. I suggest looking outside for dinner.

It was my second stay with URSO and if I am ever back in Madrid it will be where I stay again. There is something very special about the hotel from the decor (absolutely in love with the lobby/lounge area filled with fresh flowers & beautiful ceramics) to the staff service. The little touches they provide in the room, from turn down service to sweets on your last night. I will recommend all my friends & family to stay here if they are ever in Madrid. It truly was the best part of our vacation & they even accommodated our early check in since we came in on a red eye flight & had been traveling all night long. Love the live piano nights & having tea in the lounge. My massage in the spa was lovely. Would recommend just that they elevate the buffet breakfast options, other than that everything was perfect!

Poor value for money and dreadful experience

URSO is overrated and therefore poor value for money. Check-in was appalling - staff was rude, untrained and unhelpful. We weren’t even greeted. Asked for them to make a restaurant reservation for us and they did not even think to ask us for the restaurant name! The shower cubicle is very small for the size of the bathroom with a very awkward switch for the shower and overhead shower. The shower head was placed directly facing the door so any unsuspecting guest would have water sprayed all over themselves and the bathroom. There are much options in Madrid; certainly options that are much much better value for money. The only positive thing was the massage was good but even then the spa facilities are laughable for a hotel with spa in its name.

Our hotel stay was genuinely exceptional. Upon our arrival, we were warmly welcomed by Krikop (I hope I have his name correct). He not only assisted with our bags but also placed them in our room while we completed the check-in process. Liz at the bar was truly wonderful, providing some excellent recommendations. I looked forward to seeing her every time I visited for a cocktail. The receptionists were gems; they kindly gave my son a puzzle and some coloring pencils and a book. We requested a crib as soon as we arrived, and it was promptly delivered. Room service was fabulous and greatly enhanced our unpacking and settling-in experience. Housekeeping left a lasting impression; it was possibly the best service I've ever seen. Although I usually stay at Marriott properties due to my job, my family and I made an exception and truly loved our stay here.

Despite some light construction noise in the morning, the overall experience was so delightful that we didn't mind the noise. Each night, we received a thoughtful letter about the weather and a treat. When it was pouring outside, a bellman kindly allowed me to use his umbrella so I could cross the street and grab some coffee. I don't remember his name, but I believe he was from Venezuela. The neighborhood is fantastic, with an array of local restaurants, cafes, and a kids' playground to enjoy.

Property is new and looks sharp, amenities are good, the spa is gorgeous and well run.
This facility does not honor VIP access from Expedia, they will claim they are full. The bar is empty, the restaurant is empty, the lobby have very occasional people that hangs out and at the spa, I met only 3 couples on different occasions on different times the entire time we were there.
We were given a room for handicap and that was not pleasant and they were not transparent about it upon our check in. We mentioned our VIP access and again they refuse to honor it claiming they are full.
Otherwise, its alright, it could have a great potential to give their patrons a memorable experience.

Very nice hotel specially the lobby area and breakfast area. Condition of rooms is very well kept. The room area is quite small for the delux double room we reserved, the closet barely fits clothes for one person and there are no drawers at all. Urso is a small and beautiful hotel located in a very nice area, full of restaurants and near the metro. It is outside the common tourists path and allows to see a more real Madrid. Did not go. I did book a non refundable rate, true. But due to the Covid pandemic, Spain was locked up to Brazilians. We could not even board the plane. The Hotel was insensitive and could not care less.
We were never refunded! Lack of respect!

I have stayed several times in the last few years at the Urso Hotel, the only thing that I will criticize it's the turn around on the front desk people. One of the good things about coming back to a grand hotel it's to come back and find a friendly face, to make special relations with the concierge and front desk, to be recognize as a regular client and to be able to trust them with recommendations. These is almost impossible at the Urso, I don't want to be taken care by a person in training if I am paying for top service (let's not talk about the kids training everywhere else at the hotel).

When we arrived in Madrid we had the unfortunate pleasure of being told one of our bags had not arrived. The airline was not helpful so we made our way to the hotel. Once there the receptionist Charo (the trainee) was more than accommodating as she helped us with calling the airline and stayed with us during this stressful time. Our trip was saved in part to her kindness and helpfulness. She is a glowing example of what ALL hotel hospitality should be like, and you are lucky to have her.

We recently had a second stay at Urso after staying ~2 years prior. This was an ok value 5* experience, but noticeably less good compared to previously. Likely won’t stay another time.

Main reasons why:
- Shower supplies seemed a bit cheap, with watered down shower gel and not great shampoo
- Nothing really that makes you feel special, like the best boutique hotels do - we had a relatively poorly placed room with an outside view of just a neighboring wall even though hotel didn’t feel full and we were repeat guests; there was no free water in the room until after turndown; bellboys were variable and not overly attentive and we ending up both unloaded and loading our bags into the taxis... all small things but overall gave feeling that nothing was particularly special
- Gym had a broken AC, and we mentioned this to reception who said they would send someone down immediately to fix it, but they neither sent anyone to fix it nor came down themselves to explain to us that it wouldn’t be fixed. Equipment was also dirty.
- Other very small things - the safe in the room was a bit worn down and had a wonky door, I noticed the reception team deep in conversation together and ignoring a guest who was trying to get their attention, etc
- Also an annoying mosquito in the room. But can’t really blame the hotel for that :)

A few of the elements we liked from the first visit are still the same, in particular the good lobby bar area, the interesting decor, comfortable bed.
