The staff was really nice. We rented 2 rooms and one of them had to be switched because of cigarette odor, even though it was a smoke-free room. The staff checked the room and determined that it did indeed smell and gave us a new room at once. I had a package with breakfast which was very nice.

The location was far away from a lot of other things, but it was still a really beautiful location. One thing that disappointed me was that well. The property offered parking. It was already full by the time we got there so there is limited parking be aware.

No anti-Covid measures in breakfast restaurant apart from hand gel (Other hotels I sayed at in Spain gave disposable gloves, or individual disposable serving tongs for example). Just a one night stop as part of our bike tour. Only unfortunate thing was that the bar and restaurant don’t open on a Sunday. Found a nice local bar to have dinner in the end.

We arrived later than expected, so the late check in was great. Trying to find parking was a bit of a challenge. The hotel receptionist directed us to a good parking lot.
Our room was very nice and clean. It was a great value staying there. We were very pleased.

Reception was acceptable. Breakfast was adequate for 11 euros. Be sure to doublecheck that you booked the breakfast the night before if you show up or you will be charged 25% extra.

Reception was friendly and helpful, room was well presented and clean. Good value for money. We opted to park in the underground garage for which there is a charge of 14 euros. Disappointed that the hotel restaurant doesn't open on weekday nights but there were a lot within walking distance. Breakfast was good with lots of choice.

Hotel reception staff were excellent. First room given smelled of smoke so changed room. The air conditioning in second room couldn't be adjusted so was rather airless. Hotel car park tight for a large car. Brisk 20 minute walk to town shops. No reztaurant or cafe/bar service on Sunday.

A very nice hotel in a good location, about 10 minute walk from square, but many bars and cafes on same street. The hotel cafe did very good food and drinks at very reasonable prices, we loved the wine. We were disappointed that our toiletries were not replenished on the second day and we noticed that the shower head was in need of a good clean. But overall very nice bed and good size towels

The reception area is nice, the glass elevators are quite special, and the staff very friendly. My room was a bit disappointing. It was small, the furniture old and beat-up, the twin beds have seen better days. The bathroom was renovated some years ago, but the carpet is worn out and beyond cleaning. It looks dirty. The ancient vacuum-tube TV does not help. I do not see four stars here. The breakfast was OK but not more than OK.

Well positioned close to old town.

Staff were exceptionally helpful in all departments. Duvets were provided which were very warm but without a top sheet. Asked for a top sheet to be provided and this was done without fuss very promptly. Breakfast was very good with a large selection of fresh fruit, cereal, breads, meats etc., and for those who like a hot breakfast, this was provided on request.

Very nice hotel, new and clean. The rooms are not huge (comfort) but adequate for a short stay. The bed is massive and very comfortable. Sound insulation is not as good as it should be - we could clearly hear everything in the room next to us.
The buffet breakfast was big, varied and the food served of excellent quality.
The location of the hotel was perfect - walking distance to airport bus (7-10mns), and to the centre (15-20mns). Bus nb 1 goes from the hotel to the centre, as does nb 2.
The area around the hotel is good for shopping, and mingling with locals.
The hotel staff are nice and helpful.
I would stay here again if I were in valladolid again

Hotel Silken Juan de Austria, Valladolid

This hotel is located on a pleasant, though busy, boulevard leading into the centre of Valladolid. Walking into the modest, historic centre takes around 15 minutes, partly through the Campo Grande park (which has children's playgrounds). On arrival, we found that our booking had not been registered, but the reception staff were very reassuring and quickly resolved the issue (not sure how this would have been dealt with if there'd been no available rooms!!). We used the underground parking, currently charged at 12 Euros per day + tax (May 2011); the parking is down a lane at the end of the block. Parking outside the hotel is difficult (this is one of the main routes into the city). The hotel seems to be geared primarily for business travellers. There is nothing really to criticise about the hotel; it is comfortable, well-run, but unexceptional. We had a room at the back of the hotel on the 6th floor. The air conditioning worked very well (which is sadly not the case in many Spanish hotels), beds were firm and comfortable, showers efficient. Free wifi in rooms - though a little fiddly to set up; it requires a mobile phone to send a secure code to in order to get access (there may be a way around this if you ask the hotel staff, but we fortunately had our mobile with us). The buffet breakfast was reasonable, though the staff seemed to struggle to keep all offerings stocked, even though the breakfast room was quite quiet when we were eating - however, they were quick to replenish supplies when asked. Overall, this hotel was, I think, a good selection for a short stay in Valladolid given that there is not a huge hotel choice in this city. Note there are very few restaurants nearby. The Corte Inglis department store is across the road with a decent supermarket and post office (correo) in the basement. For those with kids, there is a Burger King a few minutes walk towards the city on the same street as the hotel. Apart from a small yard at the back, there are no external relaxation areas in this hotel.

A pleasant hotel not far from the city centre

the hotel is on a busy street amongst shops about 15 mins walk into the city centre, the hotel is modern and clean, we ate at the hotel in the evening as there was not a lot of choice nearby, the 22 € menu was excellent and included wine, breakfast 12.5 € was good.
