The flat is supposed to be non-smoking. When we arrived the smell of cigarette was overpowering. We had to contact the office to tell them and although they eventually send somebody to clean, the excuse was that the previous clients were smoking without permission!!! Very disappointing. The internet was of very poor quality.

The apartment had everything you could need and was in a great location. The sound proofed windows were wonderful and allowed us the quiet we needed! So much space if you need it! The only critique I have is that the washer/dryer is not great, didn’t wash the clothes thoroughly and the dryer took 3 cycles to dry the small load I did.

Avoid this place please

This is a really to avoid place, and I wonder why these places are still here.
This \"hotel\" is often booked by \"proffessional\" women who date man in the night for money. So be ready to surprises over night, a lot of screams, fights in the stairs.
I should have reported this case to the police, but the property refused to pay me back my money, unbelievable...

Great comfortable apartment for 6 people. Modern, well equipped, comfortable beds, and very clean. Self check in was ok, I always prefer someone at reception but had good interaction by phone or email with staff so no difficulties at all. Location is residential and has lots of choices for food, shopping and transportation. Next to my favourite Madrid area Malasaña.

We stayed in the 4 bedroom unit for just under 3 weeks. It was really great. I read lots of reviews about troubles checking in and getting access to the building and units, but we had no problems at all. It was actually really easy. We got an email with clear instructions, and it all worked well. The location is ideal- walkable to everything. We stayed here with our 5 children and it was great to be able to walk everywhere with them. The Wifi in the unit worked perfect- even with devices for all the kids. The windows were great at keeping noise out. It was actually quite quiet with the windows closed. The clothes washer was so useful. The dryer fuction on the washer doesn't actually dry clothes- but there is a dryer rack in the unit that we used. There was always plenty of hot water from the water heater. I'm a huge fan of really hot showers, and this was ideal. There were so many great things! If I had to pick something to improve, the walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but it just looks lived in, not bad. Also, the unit has shampoo and soap but the pump dispensers dont really work. This wasnt a problem, because we had our own supplies.
Lastly, we didnt find out that there was a lift until the second or third day and we were on the 5th floor! That was a relief with groceries and the baby stroller! I guess it would have been nice to know ahead of time. Its not hidden, but not obvious unless you go past the stairs.

I had to call Expedia to get the check in instructions. The property did not answer the phone or whatsapp messages. Check in was at 3 and I only got the check in instructions at 3:30. Then the apartment did not even compare to what was featured on the Expedia website. I asked for a room change and they did no.
The second day there was a big leak in the bathroom. Floor was full of water. I tried calling and messaging the property and again no answer until 15 hours later when they replied “sorry we don’t work 24 hours”…. Luckily Expedia did answer and moved me to a hotel.

Deceptive advertising. Paid for a 968 sq ft apartment and got a 600 sq ft apartment. Apartment was very unsanitary, furniture heavily soiled and spotted. Was too dirty to sit on had to cover with bed sheets. One set of towels provided; no cleaning services for 9 nights stay. No onsite office and customer service blocked my number when I contacted them to correct these issues. Housekeeper denied to change out linen and towels on a daily basis. Was very rude and abrupt. Horrible service, and would never lodge or recommend Slow Suites Luchana ever. There are other reviews mentioning the same bad experiences. Expedia should remove them from their property listings, as they are very dishonest and offer zero guest services. I am highly disappointed in this place. Had to borrow a mop and bucket to clean the entire apartment before we could sit anywhere.

Deluxe Duplex- Huge and modern flat!

The flat in Suites Luchana was absolutely fantastic! It is huge for two people (you could def have 4 if using the futon in the living room). We had the Deluxe Duplex, which is super spacious, has a bathroom and a toilet and a lot of space to chill out. It is very centrally located, only a 35 min walk from Atocha station and 20 mins from Parque Retiro. It is also incredibly quiet for such a central building, right next to a cool independent cinema and with lots of cafes bars and shops nearby. The process to check in and communication was very straightforward even with us arriving at midnight the first time. Because of COVID the flat didn't have an iron or hair dryer when we arrived but we only texted the admin and they sent someone to drop them off on the same day (Sunday). Excellent service and they are happy to provide a number to use WhatsApp. The TV even has Netflix. The wifi works really well! Overall a fantastic option in Madrid. We are going back for a second stay this week! Thank you!

This property was decent. Check in process was horrible!! The machine didnt work. There were too many people checking in at one time and it was pretty crowded for that small waiting area. I believe a having a receptionist would be useful. The check in process want clear enough. There arent signs stating what area the apartments are in I had a very difficult time entering the apartment . Also I asked for late check out, paid my fee left the apartment to get breakfast and the code didnt work. I had to call to be let in. As we ( my baby and party of 2) were waiting for the elevator housekeeping had the elevator blocked off for at least 20 minutes. This was very inconvenient!!! The heater didnt come with instructions, I had to turn the water heater on as well as the heat. Lastly the couch needs to be replaced or maybe the pull out bed portion needs to be fixed. The couch was very u comfortable and not suitable to sit down with my infant son and enjoy the nice Smart TV that was provided.

Spacious apartment in a good location. It is next to a busy road and the central courtyard adjacent to the largest bedroom echos so would recommend taking earplugs if you want a good night sleep. Bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and well appointed, would benefit from hangers in the wardrobe though as we couldn’t hang any clothes. Reception is virtual and although very helpful, property would benefit from onsite support. Overall good and would probably stay again.

It’s very clean and comfortable.
The WiFi is very unstable. Stayed for 4 nights and the internet is slow most of the time and consistently getting disconnected every few minute.
I have trouble checking in. They have e-receptionist and when issues occurs, I am expected to make international calls to solve it (international calls because I do not have local sim).

we loved the apartment for its location, its good vibe, its spaciousness, layout, and balconettes over a not-too-busy leafy street. would return in a heartbeat. of course getting checked in and out is a little less automatic than with a hotel but this seemed a small issue compared to the value. felt like a home away from home.

The space was very nice although in pictures it seems much bigger. We got an apartment for 6 people but there were only 5 beds (2 people traveling with us were not related so it made it difficult to accommodate having to sleep together in one bed). When we arrived you could tell the housecleaners cleaned quickly because our apartment was not very clean... hair in places(table, floor, bathroom), and I ended up having to sweep the floor because of the mess.

The property was very clean and well maintained. The rooms were very spacious and modernised. Frankly speaking staying at Slow Suites at Luchana feels like living at home. What amazed me so much about this property was the fact that it was situated in a convenient location, closer to all local amenities such as restaurants, pubs, clubs, shopping centre, market, attraction places and above all metro stations to connect you to where ever you want to go.

Many thanks goes to the receptionist leticia Penas. She was always friendly and professional - going out of her way to help in any way she can. So would definitely recommend her.

The only down side of the apartment was the fact that it hasn't got it own parking at the premises. But even that they have an agreed discount with some parking company closer(3min walk) to the apartment.

You will loose money because of their mistake

We booked 3 rooms via hotels.com and all the rooms were pre-paid and totalled about 1216 Euros. I paid hotels.com in my local currency and then during our stay I was charged in Euros for the whole amount again by Slow Suites. They then apologised for the mistake but instead of reversing the charges after 3 days I go a refund (separate transactions). My credit card charges me conversion changes for foreign currencies and we got charged 3.5% two ways and the difference in rates for the two days. We lost about 94 euros in the bargain.

I contacted them with snapshots of the bank statements and they said they would refund the loss to my bank account directly. I sent them the bank account details and also told them that they could just put the difference in the credit card too and that I would take the 3.5% loss on 94 euros if it made it easier for them.

I was pretty impressed with them as they seem to have accepted their error and were ready to correct the same error and thus in good faith I gave them a 5 star review.

Since the review I haven't heard back from them even though I have written to them multiple times.

We don't suggest you stay with these guys or any of their chain of hotels as you could end up loosing money. I will also be asking all my family members to do the same.

About the hotel, location is ok, rooms are clean, service is good but front desk is open only till 7pm, meaning if you come late you could potentially be locked out.

The property was well located and is a good base to explore Central Madrid .
However there is extensive building work going on around the Apartment starting at 8am and going on for most of thr day including Saturday .I would strongly recommend that you phone the Reception first to judge the ongoing work .We were offered a refund of 24 euros but of course refused such a poor offer for such a unpleasant time although we did stay later than the 11 am check out time .
In short ,once the building work is completed then it is a good place to stay to see such a beautiful city .

Wonderful. Short visit but great choice of accommodation. Convenient to all. Spacious for family of 5. One problem was that at 2 or 3am, it sounded like a herd of elephants outside my room. Startled me awake. It was several very loud, apparently \"happy\" revelers, coming back from a night in town and being rude and inconsiderate as they took the stairs back to their room(s). Otherwise. I was very happy with the hotel.

Slow And Sweet Slow Suites!

This is a great location with perfect access to the metro. Attractive and clean apartment. Would prefer two bathrooms but one was ok. Master bedroom effectively had a king bed but it was two twins placed together. They slide apart too easily. Management was very friendly and we stored our bags several hours after checkout so we could tour Madrid a little more before going to the airport. It is easy to take the metro to and from the airport all the way to the apartment. That saved a lot of time and money compared to taxis. Lots of restaurants in walking distance and minutes away from major tourist attractions using the subway.

PROS: the apartment/hotel is in a good location (20 min walk from Plaza Mayor, pleasant walk). The staff is professional and accommodating (I was able to check-in early and communication before our arrival was quick/clear; thank you!)
CONS: the apartment is small (great for 2, but not for 4 as advertised.) The 2nd bed is a couch (fine), but when we opened it, the sheets had clearly not been changed. Thankfully, there were clean sheets in the closet, but we had to change it ourselves. Basic essentials are also missing (the kitchen has dishes but nothing like sugar/salt/oil/etc.) These are cheap essentials that make a big difference (I don't want to buy those at the store just for a weekend stay...) Not even coffee/tea, which you get in any hotel.

Its a wonderful stay

We stay in Madrid for 4 days.

The office is just in the first floor of the hotel, and its very easy /fast to check in.

The room is very clean and all the amenities are in well condition.

The location of the hotel is perfect, its just next to the metro and you can found shopping / restaurant / supermarket in few minutes of walk.

If you ask me will come back again to this hotel?

I would definitely stay at the Slow Suites again. Great staff, close to restaurants and square. The famous Grand Via for shopping is 15 mins walk. Metro is close by. My friends and I were just happy and please wuth everything.

Loved the Slow Suites Luchana. Great place to camp out for 5 nights and very comfortable. Would have loved one cleaning - say around day 3 - instead of the day before we left. Would have loved shampoo. And the shower floor was exceptionally slippery. Also the sofa was a bit worn and not too comfortable for sitting. But we otherwise loved everything about the location and the elbow room. Bedrooms were comfy and we slept very well!

The Apartment was in a great location among lots of Restaurants, Cafes and Tapas bars. Relatively easy walks to most tourist attractions. 25 mins in a taxi to Airport at ~30 Euro
Room had all amenities needed. Reception was quick and easy.
Only suggestion is to have a curtain in back room as outside security light on balcony would shine straight into the bedroom whenever someone walked past

Nice apartment with refrigerator, laundry and stove. Modern decorations. Metro Bilbao very close. Near building a lot of restaurants and bars. 20 minutes walking distance to palacio real or puerta de Alcalá

Short but sweet stay

The hotel is in front of a busy square that provides many services and amenities ranging from restaurants, supermarket, club, and bars. The hotel has two buildings, strangely, one is new and the other old, which can make a big difference in the condition of your room. I would ironically recommend the older building which cannot be accessed by the elevators directly in front of the reception. This recommendation comes from a realization of lack of ergonomic use of the modern bathrooms. The modern bathrooms have tiny sink space and low depth which welcomes messes. The windows do not open all the way which can make you lack serious amounts of air. I simply ask and insisted for a handy man to come and allow me to breath by unblocking the security lock. They say its for security purposes in order to prevent jumps to the streets. Otherwise the hotel is accommodating and well situated. It can be VERY noisy on weekends and PLEASE do not be blown away by the term ROOFTOP TERRACE AND POOL, because its quite lame and very small. There is potential but the hotel has not reached there yet.

Everything about the hotel was great. The only thing I would like the Hotel staff to add is a drop off box for check out. We wanted to leave at 8:30 am and didn't realize that the front desk only opens at 10:30. Check out is at 11:00 am so that only leaves a half an hour window for check out. I would definitly return to the same Hotel.

Great stay!

It was a great little apartment in Madrid. The apartment was clean and very spacious. The bathroom was full equipped, and the kitchen was simple but great. The only one thing, if any, would be that it isn't in dead city centre. It is good for those who like quieter (i.e. less touristy) neighbourhoods. Otherwise, it was a good place and I would stay there again if I were to ever visit Madrid again! Thanks!
