Nicely located - a little on the edges of Madrid. Still walkable. Many cafes around the area which makes for a relaxing afternoon after a tour. Would prefer a smaller menu for breakfast as I am not a buffet person at that hour of the morning or the ability to order say a coffee and pastry. Rooms were very nice, beds comfortable overall excellent choice for our stay in Madrid. Front desk staff very helpful and very accommodating. Hasta!!

Our stay was amazing and we were so sad to leave. The front desk reps were welcoming and extremely helpful.

This location was perfect! It's close to everything - within walking distance of stores, restaurants, sites and nightlife!

We were welcomed by Lidia at the front desk when we checked in. Throughout our stay, Lidia was amazing! Extremely helpful, super pleasant, and she did so much to make our stay beyond enjoyable! The hotel is in a great location and the room was very comfortable and modern. The staff serving breakfast were also very nice and pleasantly helpful.

Nice hotel at excellent location

The hotel has modern, clean design, no frills but very comfortable. Our room was small but more than adequate, tons of storage, very big bathroom, nice shower. The bed was very comfortable. Hotel is located very close to Retiro Park, nice shops and plenty of restaurants.

I would recommend Hotel Recoletos

Very nice 4 star hotel in a nice section of Madrid. Food was not fancy but perfectly good. Accommodations were comfortable and clean. I don't have many comments since I only spent one night in Madrid, but I would stay at Hotel Recoletos again. That is probably the most valuable comment one could make.

Great neighborhood, clean hotel. Annoyed that as a Marriott gold member, they didn't honor the free breakfast. They also charge for every little thing, like coffee refills even on our 2nd day when the maid didn't come by to clean. Parking pricing was a little absurd as well.

Hotel was on a quiet side street just off main road and within 5-10 walking distance of Salamanca district. Hotel was kind to give me my requested corner room and the room was clean and spacious. Not much of a view (internal courtyard) and their “double bed” was two single beds pushed together with separate duvets which was a shame.

Breakfast was very good with wide selection of Spanish and western. Gym was tiny but served its purpose. Would stay again.

Right in the middle of the action!

We were there for the EDP Rock n Roll Maraton Madrid. The hotel was very conveniently located close to the start and finish lines. The area around the hotel is filled with restaurants and shops, very nice place to walk around!

Excellent hotel for couples

We spent four nights in this excellent hotel. Madrid is a walkable city and this hotel was very well located in a quiet side street close to the Retiro Park , the main art galleries (including the Prado), the city centre and shopping areas. A Metro station is metres away for wider exploration - and it is easy to travel to/from the airport by Metro. (Travelling on the Metro with luggage is far easier than on the London Tube.)

The hotel staff were very welcoming and helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The decor is modern.

In common with most hotels in Madrid this one does not offer a restaurant for lunch/dinner beyond bar meals. There are many good tapas bars and restaurants in the same street as the hotel and in its immediate area. We particularly liked the fish restaurant El Barril de Recoletos.

We would stay there again.

Nice hotel a bit out of the middle of the city

Was really pleased with an upgrade to a Suite as a Marriott Gold member but for whatever reason no breakfast is included as a perk. I skipped the hotel breakfast, as there are plenty of other places in the City to eat. The room was quite nice and Relaxing but was not fully stocked by housekeeping after my first night - didn't clean my coffee Cups or replace coffee, minimal towels, etc. A bit further to walk to places than I expected but not overly out of the way of the main sights. The staff were really nice upon check-in but a bit rude about my late check-out.

We took a 4-day vacation to Madrid from the Caribbean where we live we read the reviews about the Marriott AC and decided to stay there that was a good decision we took the train from the Airport (1 change) the hotel was 2 blocks away from the station the staff was very helpful and all spoke English we had requested a room over looking the the street on the 4th floor, Great choice we loved it the hotel location was perfect and will definitely will stay at the AC again if we ever return to Madrid in the near future.

Excellent hotel in a great location

We spent three nights in Madrid visiting a number of museums, experiencing the local food and culture and enjoying the regal architecture seen in many of the buildings in the central areas of the city as well as relaxing in some of the many excellent local parks.
Other cultural experiences ranged from a tour of the imposing Bernabeu Stadium to amazing Flamenco at a local club and excellent late night jazz near the atmospheric Plaza de Santa Ana.

We only stayed I night. I would have liked a better floor since there were chairs piled up in the hallway near the elevator. I expect that it was due to the fact we were on the first floor(that would be 2nd floor USA style) not far from the bar. . It wasn't as quiet. But the room more than made up for it. The bathroom and shower were great. The staff was extremely helpful and pleasant.

Loved the location for families, close to El Retiro metro stop, staff very friendly and helpful in helping with directions. Rooms very clean and loved the small balcony. I traveled with a 2 year old and 14 year old and they provided a small bed for the toddler next to mine and a twin size bed for my daughter in my parents room. Walking distance to Museo Del Prado and main street Gran Via. Would highly recommend having breakfast at the cafeteria in front of el museo del prado as it had very good spanish potatoe omelettes and not too expensive.

Fantastic hotel, very modern . The room was cleaned every day with fresh towels and toiletries. The staff very helpful and spoke good English. Location was perfect as it was central but quiet. The breakfast was plentiful and suited us all. Free wi-fi in the bar area which pleased my 14 year old!
The only criticism I can make, which is a small one! It would have been nice to have a bath robe.

Careful with unwarranted charges

I booked the hotel for three people as I was traveling with young children, that was stated, with the ages of the children when the hotel was booked and paid for in advance on line. Upon arrival, after a trans Atlantic trip I was told I had to pay 30% more for the third person. I complained to no avail and only the next morning when I requested for the manager as there was no hot water, and brought it up again, was it called a mistake and the charge reverted. So be very careful!

Minor quibbles overall very good hotel

We had requested an early check in as we had a dawn flight and needed to freshen up but no room was available for over an hour - no advance warning that this was the case and no apology offered.

Reception staff not the friendliest - too cool for school - but otherwise our stay was superb. Location was great - very near Cibeles and Retiro, around the corner from the Castellana. Lovely room - roomy and spotless. Very contemporary, quiet, radio/CD player was a bonus. Robes would have been nice but otherwise would highly recommend it. Great rates as well.

I took a cab to the hotel and it didn't look too impressive from the outside, but once I walked inside everything changed. The decor was nice and elegant, the drinks at the bar were reasonable priced. The location was a 5 minute walk from the center of the city and the service was excellent.

Great small hotel

I was there just three days ago, it is a great hotel in great location, just amazing small hotel, close to puerta del sol.
The front girl was a bit constipated looking but I did not let her bother me at all! Hotel has gym, restaurant, and small coffee shop area.
Amenities are perfect, including beer, water and juices in the complimentary mini bar. I used to stay in Ritz by parque Retiro but this small hotel is even better.
