Location: Perfectly located to explore the city walking. It is a 2km walk to the Palace. So everythingbis located between the hitel and the palace. Short walk to the Salamanca area. Hotel: Very nice. Lots of restaurants near by. Nice breakfast for a reasonable price. Room: Very nice with plenty space, comfortable bed, large ahower. Staff: Very nice and helpful. They allowed early check in. I would certainly stay here again.

We loved the Hotel!!! Beautifully decorated , rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are really big . We stayed in room # 400 , corner room very quiet with an inner courtyard view.
What a nice staff , we’re so pleased with the service and hospitality of all . Fernando at the front desk is an amazing person . Thank you for e urging and for making our anniversary #35 a memorable one in beautiful Madrid . Breakfast was very good and conveniently located inside the hotel . The outside terraza is BEAUTIFUL and view of La Puerta de Alcalá is stunning !
The only down side of the hotel, is missing a lounge bar with nice confortable couches where you can enjoy a drink inside the property . If you want a drink you need to sit outside (it was very cold when we stay at the hotel ) . I’m pretty sure that on warmer days will be nice !
We definitely be back to soon .

The hotel is one of the best--compares favorably to the larger 5 star chain hotels (e.g. Ritz, 4 Seasons, etc) but feels more personal. It was renovated relatively recently, so all the facilities are up to date. The rooms are very large in comparison to many other hotels in center city. The bathrooms are very nice with rain shower and soaking tub and two sinks. Despite being in a central, busy location, the room was incredibly quiet (and dark) at night with very comfortable bedding. The staff was fantastic--very helpful with dining recommendations, assistance with transportation, luggage, etc. Chilled Cava and water were both available in room upon arrival--likely complementary, though we did not drink it due to dinner plans. The hotel is very well located on the corner of the El Retiro park which is lovely to walk through. Lots of shaded paths and the Cristal Palace, as well as the botanical gardens. Lots of great shopping, tapas and restaurants nearby. 20 min to airport by taxi. I can't think of a better location.
I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay there again when we return to Madrid.

We were only in Madrid for one night after traveling around Spain. This is a beautiful hotel and great service. The front desk people were so accommodating and made great recommendations for us and even reservations. We were so pleased with everything! Beautiful, elegant, quiet and comfortable room. A marvelous hotel in a marvelous location

Clean, luxurious and spacious for a city hotel, the hotel is in the middle of a fun area that is incredibly convenient to many of Madrid's best barrios. You are at the corner of Parque Retiro, a few minutes walk from the best museums, and adjacent to the swanky stores and restaurants of Salamanca. The perfect location. And did I mention the friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff? They made us feel very welcome, an oasis of calm in the swirl of Alcala.

Extremely bad management skills. The hotel is being offered as a 5 -star property when in fact it is only 3 stars:

Breakfast is terribly administered, DO NOT book breakfast in advance. There was no one to take my order. They apologized and offered room service; but still, unacceptable for something they call 5 stars.

Additionally, people at check in are not genuinely friendly. The first thing they asked me was if I wanted to pay 70€ extra per night to have a better view. They did not even consider the fact that I had Expedia VIP Access benefits.

NOT GOING BACK. Superficial and badly administered property.

The hotel seems to be new but it looks like if they forced a hotel into an old apartments building so the adaptation is a little awkward. The bathrooms are very modern but the designer thought more in the esthetics than in functionality,

The rooms are tiny and only a select few have a view. The loft room (suite) is terrible, it has no windows in the bedroom floor, the stairs make moving the luggage hard, and the bed is so close to the ceiling it is borderline claustrophobic. I am sure there are nicer rooms with views, be sure to reserve one of those. that hotel is all about location. nice bar area right outside.

Firstly the hotel location is amazing. Then as you step inside you are greeted by the most friendly, helpful and professional team. The rooms are all beautiful, I did want to upgrade to a room with a better view and my request was dealt with so well and my bags moved from one room to the next. The facilities are great with spa and pool along with excellent dining options.

It is rated as a 5 stars hotel. Well, 5 stars hotels are different. This is a good 4 stars but definitely overpriced for what you get.
Clean ok, but must be improved. People very friendly. Excellent location but has no parking and no place to stop the car for a short time.

Really enjoyed Madrid. This is a great city with lots of lovely architecture, good food, shops, bars and restaurants. The hotel was in an excellent area of Madrid to strike out to see the sights. We used the Madrid Tourist bus to navigate the sights and understand the different areas of Madrid. Would definitely visit again!!
