Very old room, it has been many may year I had not seen spring mattress, bad smell, bathroom was smelly, front desk staff is very rude in responding, not know how to talk with kids, kids went to get the food for fish he lies and said no food but giving my to others.

Koi Pond at the lobby is a wonderful touch and makes this hotel unique.

But there are no microwaves in the room and the refrigerator has a note plastered on the front reading:

"Caution this cooler is set 55 degrees and will not keep perishable items from spoiling. Please contact the front desk if you require a refrigerator"

I'm glad they allowed this room refrigerator to identify itself as a cooler. But the perishables I brought with me still perished.

The hotel is beautiful to walk into, smells great, and has friendly staff - especially the kitchen staff. The room was clean and spacious with a view to the front of the hotel where the water Unfortunately there were some things that kept me from giving the fifth star.

To start off, 1) don’t call the front desk from your room phone, they will not pick up even if someone is standing at the front desk working. When I walked to the front desk, I asked, “Do the room phones operate correctly? Do they actually call the front desk?” The attendant said yes they do so I informed him that I have been calling for the past 5 minutes. His only response was “oh, I’ve been here, sorry about that.” 2) We traveled while it was raining, and we had a room on the second floor… there was water dripping in from the SEALED window. We put a towel under it since it was not a fast leak and we were only there for the weekend. 3) They hosted a high school prom the weekend of our stay and post prom, teenagers had rooms booked in the hotel! That was insane to me, as well as the constant running and screaming they were doing around the halls. 4)Lastly, Sunday morning came around, looking to sleep in from a busy weekend… they were playing music so loudly in the lobby that you could hear it and feel the bass in our second floor room at 8am sharp.

What truly saved this review was the kitchen staff. They were all so courteous and pleasant, not like the other staff there. The hotel should really thank them.

Unfortunately we did not have breakfast at the hotel, it's not that didn't want to, we woke up too late and had to rush to get to where we needed to go on time on Saturday. On Sunday morning, we left early before breakfast started to drive home.

Very nice place to spend one night. Our room was clean, appropriate for a one-night stand. However, it took 3 to 5 minutes to get hot water in the bathroom. The pillows were very soft, and after a while it became uncomfortable.

I was very annoyed that common sense didn’t take precedence over technicality. My name was misspelled by expedia but, I presented proof of reservation, showed the transaction from my checking account, photo id and they finally needed to see an email with the mispelled/shortened name to honor my reservation.

Upon entering the room, the very first thing I laid eyes on was this dark shadow on the bathroom floor; after turning on the light, I see that it’s shoe print from either polish or dye. Very unsightly. I couldn’t believe they wouldn’t have replaced those tiles or floor. The room carpet was a dark color but, I could tell it hadn’t been cleaned in awhile. Two bed room, one plastic laundry bag. The antiquated toiletry size annoyed me; those toy bottles aren’t enough for one person. Do they not know that we’re expecting full size toiletries in the shower now?
Speaking of the shower, they actually have a sign posted informing that; you have to allow the water to run at least 5 minutes to warm up but, when it does, there’s hardly any water pressure. There’s no deodorizer used in the towels they didn’t have a fresh scent.

If it hadn’t been for the fact that were only stayin overnight I would have taken that loss ( no cancellations ) and went elsewhere.

The only reason I gave three stars is for the ambiance leading to the room, valet service and the check out person was very sweet.

They need to do better.!!!

In Its' day this place was a showplace. It is still very nice with the largest lobby that I have seen maybe ever. The hotel is a bit tired. It will be a massive undertaking to bring it up to where it was in its prime. Bar was good. Food looked really good. Outdoor pool was large and clean. I paid a fair rate. It was a good value.

Smooth check-in, easy parking, and great lobby space with koi fish. We enjoyed having a drink in the lobby by the fish. During the winter holidays, the lobby gets extra decorations. Clean, comfortable room. There is freeway noise on the freeway side, but that’s everywhere in Houston.

The first two times we stayed here the rooms were so nice. Evidently some rooms have not been updated. Unfortunately, we stayed in one of those our third stay. Bed was very uncomfortable and bathroom very outdated. I will not stay again in one of these rooms. This is sad for such a nice hotel.

I had a wonderful stay at Hyatt Regency Houston. The hotel has a modern design and beautiful atrium area, including an expensive waterway system with beautiful Koi fish. The ambience of the hotel was quite remarkable and made for a luxurious experience. The rooms themselves were comfortable, but what released it out was the design an architecture of the hotel, which was majestic and quite impressive. Staff was also very friendly and professional. Overall, for the price point this is a great deal in the Houston area.

The hotel is quite large with multiple parking options. The staff were welcoming and gave us complimentary water when we checked in. Our room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was small and dated. We had dinner in the large restaurant and enjoyed watching the koi in the various water areas across the lobby.

A warm musty scent hit me as soon as I opened the door to my room. The room furniture seems not to have been updated since the 1990s. The carpet in my room felt very uncomfortable to me, I spread out clean towels and walked on them instead, and the furniture was overly large, dark, and oppressive. The bathroom has also not been updated. I have an allergy that gets exacerbated by poor air quality, and this allergy was set off overnight at the hotel. I had a nonrefundable stay for three nights, but left after one night. The staff were just great!!—a high point—absolutely up to the Hyatt Regency standard. But the overall ambience definitely was not up to the Hyatt Regency standard. I wonder how this hotel name could be on this hotel. The goldfish in the lobby were a fun, cool feature. But I will never stay here again. The self-parking was dark and kind of scary. There was a security car part-time at the self-parking, but it disappeared later in the evening. I don’t spend money on a hotel to feel less comfortable than I do at my own home. I was truly disappointed.

Overall, the Hyatt was wonderful; staff was very friendly, check in/out was easy. Room was clean, quiet. Location is great; easy on/off I-10. The atrium is lovely! Watching the ornamental Carp (Koi) fish zoom through the well-maintained ponds was a relaxing and fun way to spend some down time between family events. We would definitely stay at the Hyatt again.

My wife and I stayed here over Valentine’s weekend. While the staff was very friendly and welcoming, it was evident that they were understaffed and unprepared for the increased number of guests during the weekend. The facility, though clean, showed signs of being outdated in several areas. Our room, in particular, was in need of upgrades, including the walls, fixtures, and bathroom. Although we enjoyed our time, this will likely be our last stay, as we feel the cost does not align with the quality of the accommodations provided.

Tv didnt connect most of the time, no microwave, no fridge, expensive non complementary breakfast, extra 100 dollar "incident fee" thats theres no mention of befor but supposedly will get refunded but theres no idication of what the fee will be for, elevator was sktchy and closed on people like actually on their arms in the elevator doors
