I booked a room for my girlfriend and I to stay here. We saw that there was a jacuzzi listed and there was breakfast. I wasn’t expecting a five star hotel but this place was dirty. The jacuzzi and pool were under construction and the breakfast was very limited. There were some sort of stains all over the floor in our room.

Great location—there’s a grocery store right behind the hotel, and the bus stop is right there too. The room was spacious and had pretty much everything you need. The sauna was working and very hot, which is all we needed.

The property is a bit old, but for what you pay, it’s worth it compared to other hotels. Covered parking is very nice when it’s snowing. The staff were helpful, and they offer a small breakfast—not great, but enough to carb up before skiing 😂

Overall, it was a perfect stay and I’d definitely go back.

I really liked the stay, they have good breakfast in the mornings. I gave it 4 because the pool and hot tub were closed due to renovations. Also, the hotel was a bit outdated but other than the staff was very friendly and attentive.

The staff was friendly and helpful the buildings under construction, so I had an old room that the heater was broken and it was either on or off. If you couldn’t regulate it, the carpets were dirty and it was cold in there.

The building is old and undergoing renovations. The bed was comfortable. Looks like they installed new windows. The place still looks run down. The lobby has old furniture. The pool and jacuzzi are closed for remodeling. The location is farthest in the City from the ski resort. Its close to restaurants. The breakfast is decent. Juice is available most of the day because they’re remodeling the cafe area. Overall the hotel is good enough to stay.

The toilet in my room only partially flushed. I told the staff and they got someone right on it, but the fix didn't make much of a difference. I am a contractor and in my opinion they have a much larger plumbing infrastructure problem.
The breakfast offerings were extremely sparse, not to mention the powdered eggs.

Lobby, poolarea and outsude was being remodeled and it looked like it had been for a while. But frindly staff, ski lockers in lobby, fridge and mictowave in room - i will come back.

Great quick weekend stay if you’re just looking for a conveniently located place to sleep after hitting the slopes.

Have to give kudos to staffmember Alex; he was extremely helpful and attentive from check-in to check-out. He seemed to be the only one working at one point and handled calls, check-ins, and even helped with microwave issues all at once in a timely manner.

The hotel is old and run down. Our door had many screws holding the doorknob and lock in place. The lamp shade was torn. The bathroom door has a hole in it. The windows were recently replaced but not finished so the rough wood was there instead of a painted finish. The pool room is under construction but anyone can walk into the room and look at it.

The room was clean and spacious.

For the price it was a good deal, especially for Mammoth where hotel rooms can go for hundreds of dollars a night. I probably would stay there again for a quick weekend since all I need is a place to sleep and shower in a hotel room.

This hotel is undergoing changes, not all positive. First, the hotel reports it is undergoing a total remodel. Hopefully good outcome when done. Second, the hotel breakfast went from decent to terrible. No eggs or sausage anymore and paltry other selections. Third, new fees. I tried to check in at 1:40, instead of 3pm. They told me the room was ready, but would have to charge me $50 to get in an hour and 20 minutes early. Wet and tired from spring skiing this was a crummy money grab on a $149 a night room. I’ve stayed at this hotel probably 12 times in the last 5 years. This was my last visit.

Room was a wreck. New window wasn't even trimmed out...could see shims under frame. Wallpaper was torn everywhere. Cracks in all bathroom floor tiles. Carpet was worn and stained. The pool is under construction but open to guest to walk through for bathroom and sauna use. The remaining water in the pool is full of a green slime and located very close to the open door to the lobby which has the food service waffle iron and toaster right next to it. Front door to lobby was broken

Our room was very spacious, clean and comfortable, except the shower tiles grout need scrubbing. Not something that a housekeeper would do on a regular basis, but that shower/tub really needs a deep cleaning to remove mildew.
We have stayed at this hotel every year for the last 20 years, in the winter to ski and in the summer to hike. Ever since Covid the Shilo has been going down the hill. The continental breakfast is not as good as it used to be and the pool and spa have been under construction since last summer. The hotel seems to be undergoing renovations, but it's going at a snail's pace.
The staff is very friendly and helpful, both the front desk and housekeepers.
Note: Request an odd number room. Those face the front of the hotel which is very quiet. In the back of the hotel there is now a supermarket which results in noise from cars and delivery trucks until very late at night and early morning. On our last stay, there was also a group of people hanging out there making a racket.
I'll probably comeback next winter if they ever finish the renovations.

The Male, General Manager of this Shilo Inn was the rudest Manager I have ever talked to.
The place stinks like wet dogs in some places and animal urin in other place.
The carpets should have been replaced years ago.
The Pool and Spa haven't benn working for over a year but they still advertise that they have a Pool and Spa. We did'nt see any work being done on the pool or spa in the week we were there, the estimated completion is in 2027 but there brochures and internet advertise a pool and spa. This place is in dire need of repair and better management.

We were looking for a budget friendly hotel and this was it.It is convenient. Only a block from the bus stop. It's in town. Shops and restaurants behind us. It's an old hotel and certainly needs an updating. Room is spacious and clean. Comfortable bed. But the window has unfinished wood trim. Plenty of counter space at the wash sink which we love. It includes breakfast which we didn't care for. Overall ,the staff is friendly and for the price, and convenient location. I love it. We will definitely consider coming back.

I was impressed that the rooms are very large and well kept. If you're a modern, brand new kind of person, Shilo Inns is stuck in the 1980's so this won't be the place for you. But it's clean, staff are very nice and it's close to all slopes at Mammoth. I'll stay at Shilo again for sure.

Pros: easy continental breakfast, close to the red line bus, easy to get to nearby restaurants, super staff, clean linens and comfortable bed, quiet rooms. Cons: Property is under renovation and they are renting out half-finished rooms that are still seriously run down - no hairdryer, blackout shades with holes, beat up furniture. While the property website indicates the pool is under renovation, so is the jacuzzi.

The reason I like to stay at the Mammoth Lakes Shilo is because they have a great large indoor hot tub and large indoor heated pool in a great room right off the main lobby. It’s perfect for after skiing. However both were closed 2 years ago for repairs. I understand the hot tub was leaking. The project was started but is still in progress after 2 years!! It’s a joke. Management needs to be fired and replaced with someone who can get it done. I won’t stay there again until both the hot tub and pool are reopened.

Friendly staff, probably the busiest I have seen the hotel during this visit which is not surprising considering the great snow from the recent storms. Unfortunately the renovations are still slowly progressing, which meant no pool or hot tub access, really wish they were able to finish that by now. The steam room and sauna were available however the sauna did not seem to be working properly. The steam room worked well after letting it warm up for about 20 minutes. Overall another nice visit and still one of my favorite places to stay for short snowboard trips. Great value for the price and close proximity to the mountain.

The breakfast room is a mess, the food isn’t refilled so it is almost out of everything 1 hour before breakfast is over, and they now stop hot breakfast at 8:30, which is crazy. For $300/ night this is one of the worst deals I have ever seen in a hotel.

Looks like no one had been checking anything. Bad experience, and because we used Expedia they refused to provide any kind of refund or credit. Which makes me wonder also why to use Expedia at all in the future

Location is excellent, and easy access to the free bus system to get to the mountain and around town. The staff was extremely polite and courteous. The condition inside and out were absolutely in need of total repairs. Cement debri and trash outside, trash containers overflowing. The inside lobby was great but elevator dirty, carpet to room was filthy, inside room couch was patched with a prior matching pillow, window sill was a patched piece of plywood, darking curtains was duct taped and view out window was a dilapidated falling down rental. Can’t believe they feel good about charging for a $250+ room for a night
