The best things about Mammoth Motel 6:
1) price
2) convenience
Other than that, everything else is average. It’s a motel 6 so don’t expect much. The whole experience feels cheap and that’s not a criticism. It is 3 stars because it’s cheap with no frills. Our room was mostly clean, but the floor was not well swept/mopped. The shower needed a better cleaning. Parking was plentiful and easy.

I would have given 5 stars instead of 3 if they would’ve cleaned our room at least 1 time out of the 3 nights we stayed there! The first night we got back from fishing 14 hours and we had no room service but we let it slide because we were so tired and thought they would give us room service the 2nd night but that never happened either we had to go to the office and get new towels and toilet paper after fishing another 14 hours that’s when I was like wow they need to compensate us and they did , they gave us 20% off our bill I still think they should’ve compensated us a free nights stay too on top of that.

Contact in the office found the staff was training an individual and that process did not interfere with our check in.
In fact they displayed professionalism, knowledge, and friendliness.
The room was better than some in high priced hotels we have stayed at.
Everything was at the exceptional level.
We will stay there in the future.

Room was clean an reasonably furnished but very small and cramped for 2 double beds and 2 adults. Front desk staff was helpful and friendly. Many nearby restaurants, stores, ski shops, coffee shops, liquor stores, etc. Also there is a municipal bus stop with a shuttle bus that goes up to Mammoth. Free WiFi worked well. Free parking. However, there was excess noise when occupants in room above walked around and the bathroom fan was very noisy. No breakfast, though there is free coffee/tea in the morning and vending machines in the lobby. And the front desk won't check your bags.

If you are just looking for a place to crash out, this is it. The rooms were clean and the staff were friendly. I do recommend that you ask for a room that doesn’t have anyone above you if possible. The people above us were so loud and walking around and dropping and dragging things all night. Could have been a big dog do all we know but it was very disruptive.

The room did the job in terms of a place to sleep for the night. Walls are thin and neighbors were loud late and night and again early in the morning. Nothing nice, but did the trick for a quick nighter to hit the resort the next day. Would I return - likely not.

Yes,the park was very close,but the room didn't have Air conditioner, so the room was so hot all the night. I went to the front desk to complain about it and their answer was: Sorry in winter time we don't have Air conditioning, if the room is hot open the window.Great solution!

Have been coming to this Motel 6 for close to 25 years. No frills. Rooms are always clean. Beds are comfortable. Shower is hot. Very easy check in. Walk to restaurants and close to the mountain.
If there is a downside, guests can be noisy at times.

During our stay I got worst experience every. Manager DID TERMINATE chemical SPRAY IN ROOMS !!! All this smells goes inside of your super small and tiny room !

Worst experience ever. The manager allowed Terminix to spray chemicals in the rooms while guests were still staying in the hotel. The strong chemical smell spread through the AC into our room and lasted a long time.

I am allergic and came to enjoy fresh mountain air, but instead got headaches from the fumes. The Terminix worker was wearing a gas mask and full protective suit, while guests were expected to breathe the smell.

Very irresponsible management. Not worth $200 per night. I would not recommend staying here.

The rooms have just enough to keep you alive. Hand towels had zero absorbancy. Took 10 min to get hot water in sink. Heat was off when we arrived: the room was freezing, and it took over 6 hours to finally warm up to tolerable. No facial tissue, only toilet paper. The floor was FILTHY. This was disappointing, as the location was PERFECT. Too bad.

Not a cheap stay anymore, over $400 for 2 nights and everything is bad, paper thin windows and walls, no shampoo or conditioner, just 2 bars of soap, uncomfortable beds. This is one of the cheapest in mammoth, but the price doesn’t justify the quality.

Room was spotless and comfortable but very small--small room, small bed, small bathroom. Also I happened to be given an accessible room so there was a shower seat in the tub that made the shower a little crowded. The parking was convenient and free and the WiFi worked well. Front desk staff was friendly on checkin and checkout. I would be happy to stay there again.

They allowed a half hour early check-in, but refused to store my bags after checkout. Since I was without a car, this was a problem.

Further, in the past when the highway was closed, they more than doubled their rate for a last minute stay. Gouging people that don’t have options isn’t a good look.

I checked January 4 , temperature was ten degrees outside, I had no heat in the room, cable tv was not functioning. The heater was restored the following day. Unable to change rooms because all were booked.
The next morning, woke up to find we had no hot water. Returned to the room at the end of the day skiing only to find a note on my door informing me that management had no estimated time when hot water on again. Understand rates are high in tourist area but expect essential services.

This was my second time staying here, and it’s always been very good. I had a queen room which I felt was a little more spacious than the previous double room I had first, but I could be making that up! Anyway, the rooms are renovated and my pup and I had a great time. The bed was comfy and we both enjoyed the small sitting area.

The location is excellent in relation to the shuttle to the mountain, or you can walk to the village if you feel like it, maybe 3/4 mile uphill. Or you can walk about the same distance in the other direction to shops and restaurants in town.

The staff is excellent. I didn’t get their names, but they were always helpful and friendly and they even had a dog behind the desk!

I know I’ll stay here again.

Everything is okay. But there's no microwave, no hairdryer, you need to ask for extra towels. You need to pay extra for microwave and fridge. I think microwave and hairdryers are necessary. I know you are paying for the location. But overall is all good, closed to fastfoods and restaurants, walkable. Thank you.

The establishment was not prepared to accommodate ADA person. I have lung condition and my partner and I spent 2 hours clearing snow out of an ADA parking spot. Also, they are not equipped with necessary equipment for winter storm to clear out the parking lot and expect guests to clear out snow for parking. Will never stay at this establishment again.

We arrived on Christmas Eve. There was no snow removal after 3 feet of snow. You could check out shovels but even the sidewalk to the office was not shoveled. Management needs to do better with this. Besides this the rooms were comfortable (albeit not as clean as they should be - but not awful. We would stay there again in a pinch as the beds were comfortable and good food is walking distance.
