Rhe room was clean and quiet. The hostal is located near a lot of tourists areas. You could walk to Plaza Mayor or Mercado San Mighel in 11 minutes. Primark and ElnCorte Ingles are 4 minutes away walking. Lots of other places like Parque del Retiro, Puerta del Sol, PalacionReal, Museo del Prado y Puerta de Alcala are within a 22 minutes walk.

Mi estancia en Hostal Ballesta (Madrid) fue sencillamente excepcional. Desde el momento de mi llegada, el personal se mostró muy atento, amable y dispuesto a ayudar con recomendaciones sobre la ciudad. La habitación era acogedora, limpia y muy bien equipada, con una cama cómoda que garantizó un descanso perfecto después de largos días explorando Madrid.

La ubicación no puede ser mejor: céntrica, con acceso inmediato a transporte, tiendas, restaurantes y puntos turísticos clave como la Gran Vía y la Puerta del Sol. El ambiente del hostal es tranquilo y agradable, ideal tanto para viajeros solos como en pareja o con amigos.

Sin duda, volvería a hospedarme aquí en mi próxima visita a Madrid. ¡Recomendadísimo!

The place was centrally located, easy to get everywhere by foot. The staff were nice and helpful with good recommendations. The rooms were decent size and very clean. We had a balcony and enjoyed having it open, although at times it did get very noisy on the street but we did not mind. We would most definitely come back

Great location. Good standard of accommodation. In the process of being renovated. My room had been renovated and was clean and fresh. Unfortunately I had a particularly noisy neighbour on one night that kept me awake for hours. In the street there were a number of prostitutes which didn't really bother me but wouldn't be ideal for families.

We were unable to sleep in the morning because we woke up to the sound of drilling on our walls which literally shook our bed and was extremely loud, Also there was lots of dust in the hallway due to the drilling, and my friend staying with me had issues breathing because of it! I’ve never had such a bad hotel experience!

No coffee with sugar for you either. It was a cool shoulder situation as far as even asking for sugar which you have to pay for the coffee so.

They gave us a room with no bathroom door, they were renovating the room they said when we complained and asked for another. They barely spoke any English at all and were just very unfriendly. We didn’t get another room because, we would have to pack up, put our bags in storage and hope for something to come up. Our pre booked Prado tickets made that impossible. It was an expensive room. Also, our “window” looked out onto a shaft!

We could hear the people in the rooms next to us. So not a quiet restful sleep. A little noise from outside as well. But we live in the countryside and we’re not used to the city noise. This may not be an issue for everyone. I’d choose another location next time for those reasons & the uncomfortable bed. But what a cool balcony & the bathtub in the bathroom was nice as well. There was no sugar for the coffee I paid for in the lobby, I asked. The location is very close to several major shopping districts and good restaurants.

Está bien ubicado pero la habitación es extremadamente chica. A metros de la entrada del hotel el ambiente que se ve no es nada bueno. Honestamente tiene muy buena ubicación pero no lo volveria a elegir

Parking is 33 Eur per day, beware of that. It was a ok hotel, but the neighboring rooms could be heard easily so it wasnt that quiet tbh. The price of the hotel itself is fair i suppose though,

I liked that service provided
I didn't like to see women offering their service just outside the hotel.
I choose the same this Hostal because the location is great, but I did realize that the mattress was hard and also the TV was old. I thought that paying more at this time would be different, but I felt that I was in the same room as my first time booking there.
In conclusion. The Hostal is great, but they need to update the mattress and TVs. Also, do something about the girls outside, it doesn't look good or safe.

El Hostal tiene muy buena ubicación, a pocos metros de una avenida muy céntrica “la Gran Vía” desde donde puedes iniciar una exploración a pie o haciendo uso del transporte público el cual tiene muy buen servicio, o del metro con dos estaciones muy cercanas (Gran Vía y Callao) además, la frecuente circulación de taxis es otra opción. También tiene cerca variedad de restaurantes para escoger y puestos de venta de alimentos.
Muchos centros comerciales para quienes prefieran ir de tiendas.
Muy seguro para “Solo traveler”. El personal que atiende la carpeta 24 horas ofrece seguridad además de ser muy atentos para brindarte información si lo necesitas.
Las habitaciones y pasillos siempre se mantienen limpios. El servicio de habitaciones impecable.
En cuanto al entorno lo único inconfortable son las mujeres “trabajadoras de la calle” que muchas veces son un poco ruidosas.
He quedado muy satisfecha con mi estancia.

The hostal was in a very convenient location. Extemely close to the nearest metro station. The room itself was spotless, modern, had obviously been renovated recently, the toilet was lovely too! The staff were friendly and helpful and available 24/7. The only complain i did have was that i was sometimes accosted by what i presume were prostitutes and their pimps just outside the hostal entrance. Other than that, no complaints!

Great location and comfortable rooms!
Staff at front desk were also very pleasant and helpful. Only negative side of our stay here was that the walls of the rooms do not seem to have any sound proofing as we were kept awake until 2am by the people in the room adjacent to ours - constantly being woken up by their movements in the room as well as slamming of doors on the floor. With a 6am start to our day, we did not get much sleep at all during the night.

The property itself was clean and the staff friendly. There was some sort of repairs been done to one of the rooms which resulted in a lot of noise.
Also the immediate external environment was not attractive to the entrance of the property. There was loiters outside on the street which made me feel unsafe when I first entered. I felt a little better when I see that they were friendly but it is not an ideal location for them to be hanging out.

Nice, clean and basic hotel in the Gran Via area. In a central location which is perfect for sightseeing around Madrid along with visiting Parque Warner and Parque de Attractiones theme parks. Fantastic for a solo traveller looking for a basic hotel to stay in. Includes a safe and aircon which is fantastic as not many hotels offer a safe.

The area immediately outside of the hotel on the street seemed to have quite a few prostitutes around however they didn't seem to bother me. It's not the hotel's fault though, it's just the area that it happens to be in seems to be a hotspot.

Definitely recommend the hotel if visiting Madrid and solo travelling.
