They had a planned water shut off due to maintenance issues. They did not contact us in advance or give us a chance to get a refund. The water was shut off for over 8 hours making the bathrooms completely unusable. Even after the water came on the shared bathrooms were absolutely disgusting because people had used the toilets. The staff were rude and completely unapologetic when we tried to ask when the water would come back on.

The Gran Vía location has charm, and the price looks appealing. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end.
We weren’t told at or before check-in about a €10 cash-only deposit for the fan remote — no air conditioning, just a fan. Arriving late with no cash meant a sweaty first night and an ATM hunt the next morning.
Three bathrooms on our floor: one had no toilet, one had an unusable shower, and the third had a broken shower. None had hooks or shelves. The building has a single lift, which was in use by housekeeping for much of our stay — we were on the eighth floor.
The room has frosted glass doors onto the hallway, so light and noise pour in constantly. On our last night, a neighbour’s room light was left on until 3AM. The windows onto Gran Vía look great but offer no sound insulation, and with no AC, sleeping through a warm Madrid night is genuinely difficult.
Cheap, yes. Worth it? Not for us.

This is the worst stay of my life. I regret choosing this place. Only did it for location but it was the biggest mistake. The staff is horrible. They came every night nock at my door and force me to stop talking and go to sleep. Literally. The employee overnight in reception is a trans that is a stalker. Is a person that seems to be mad a the world. I even asked why so much anger on his or her approach to guests . It was not Normal nor respectful. He or she was very rude unprofessional and aggressive at times. Do not visit this place. Dirty , noise, horrible staff . No AC, to be able use the fan they will ask for a
Deposit for the remote control. The fan doesn’t work without it. So if you don’t have cash you will have to sleep with the heat of the room. If you open window to refresh the noise won’t let you sleep. Terrible terrible experience. I will also write a review on google alerting people

The rooms were clean and the staff were helpful. However, one downside was the lack of luggage storage. I had a two-hour wait before my flight, and it would have been very convenient to leave my luggage securely at the hotel during that time. It’s a shame, as having this option would greatly benefit guests waiting to travel to their next destination.

We arrived and our room was not the one we booked, the door was broken and looked nothing like the pictures. They offered to move us to a better room like the one in the picture for 60 more euro. We paid and once again it was terrible, another broken door, the ac and fan didn’t work and while the room did have a view this time, the closet was broken, the door and locks were broken and the walls were paper thin. I’d steer clear from this place, there are better places for the same price.

Recepción si se trata del mismo que has reservado. La recepción en un mal estado viejo y deteriorado. Ingresas al ascensor y empiezas a circular por unos pasillos oscuros que ni cumplen con señales de orientación de lo que hay tras de cada puerta. Justo me entregaron una habitation al lado de la cocina con un ruido impresionante. Todo está deteriorado con mal olor. Se supone que a las 3 pm que es la hora de ingreso, todo el lugar debería estar aseado pero no es así , está sucio, oscuro y con mal
olor. Cuando llego a la habitación me doy cuenta que no corresponde con las fotos, ya que han hecho una gran labor de inteligencia artificial y han mejorado todos los espacios que esperas encontrar. Voy al baño compartido y es asqueroso, con cuchillas de afeitar en el piso, todo sucio y con un pésimo olor. Inmediatamente decidí reservar en otro hotel y salir de allí corriendo. La gente que se veía en pasillos no se veía bien y más bien este lugar de alojamiento parecía una residencia de citas clandestinas. Al expresar mi intención de check out tras 15 minutos , en recepción no me ofrecieron nuevas posibilidades de otro piso ni habitación. No te dejes guiar por la ubicación porque a pesar de ser estratégica no vale la pena el sacrificio de permanecer allí. No me retornaron el dinero y perdí 570 euros

Reservé este “hotel” para mi llegada y salida de Europa (set 2025). Y FUE LA PEOR DECISIÓN reservar este alojamiento.

Antes de llegar al hotel a media noche a realizar ml check inn me llegó un me face que debía de ir a recoger las llaves como a 200 o 400 metros a un hotel hermano de la misma cadena porque el recepcionista se enfermó y las llaves las dejaron en este otro hotel.

Al llegar a nuestro hotel nos dimos cuenta que el ascensor era extremadamente pequeño para nuestro equipaje. Subir nuestro equipaje fue toda una odisea. El ascensor extremadamente viejo y descuidado.

Al llegar a la habitación el calor era excesivo y la habitación no era ni parecida a la anunciada en sus páginas web. El sistema del aire nunca funcionó. El calor era insoportable. (no pudimos dormir un momento con tal asfixia) Al día siguiente pregunté por el aire acondicionado y me indicaron que para tener un control para el aire había que dejar 100 euros de depósito (situación que nunca me indicaron en el check inn).

Luego al otro día el agua se fue temprano y el hotel lo único que hizo fue poner unos rótulos avisando de la situación. No más hicieron por sus huéspedes.

Al querer salir del hotel un poco antes preguntamos para dejar las maletas en la recepción pero nos fue negado. No tienen un espacio para ello.

A mi salida de Europa preferí perder mi reservación (más de 120 Euros) y alquilé otro hotel más digno para la última noche en Madrid.

Unfortunately, this is the first time I’ve ever had to leave a negative review. It was a last-minute booking, and in the rush, I didn’t realize that the bathroom was shared. That was my mistake, as I usually prefer a private bathroom. However, the shared bathroom was very dirty and had a terrible smell—almost like a public toilet. It was also located near my room, and people often left the light on, which reflected into my room because the doors were made of glass. In short, it was a disaster.

I was also shocked to find there were no wall sockets in the room. There were three lamps, but none of them were connected to plugs on the wall. Instead, I found a power distribution box on the floor (you can see it in the attached photo). I managed to get one lamp working and used it to charge my phone.

In the evening, there was a lot of noise both from the street and from other rooms—there’s no soundproofing at all. I don’t know why, but someone on the third floor seemed to be working with loud tools or machinery. On my first night, I couldn’t sleep at all, and on the second (and thankfully last) night, I woke up at least ten times because of the noise.

Sorry to say this, but that’s the truth. Never again.

Tiny room (which I was aware of, it is specified in the description) but it is NOTHING like the photos they show. Also, if you get as \"lucky\" as I did, your room might just be one of the ones in the kitchen. Yes, my room door opened into the kitchen and I had to hear everything happening in the kitchen at all times of the day/night through paper-thin walls.

They don't have A/C (which I also knew about, that's not the complaint), but they have ceiling fans that can only be turned on with a remote control—which they do not give you; you have to leave a 10€ deposit IN CASH ONLY to get the remote control. Zero empathy about not having cash, they gave me attitude about it.

Shared bathrooms (which I also knew about) but for the three days I was there, nobody cleaned them. The same dirty floor towel that some guest left there by the shower door, was there all three days... crumpled in the exact same way. Not to mention that because of the lack of daily cleaning, and the hotel being at max capacity (I know because I tried to switch rooms out of the kitchen), the bathrooms smelled like bad gas station bathrooms.

In regard to the area, excellent location. Plenty of shops and restaurants, walking-distance to clubs and bars, and great access to all kinds of public transportation.

Maybe if it had been cheaper, I would not be so harsh with my review. But when you consider that you can get a way better room for much less—in the same area, I don't want to sugarcoat the experience.

The location was great, but the upkeep of the place seems unimportant. There were broken tiles and flooring coming up in the bathrooms, the window was very drafty with the wind. I didn’t love that my bedroom door was IN the kitchen and the kitchen had a mishmash of dishes and silverware with random parts of things. Also it was a bit cold at night with only a sheet.

Nuestra estancia fue muy mala. No es para nada parecido a lo que te muestran online. Cuando llegas es edificio súper viejo y las habitaciones parecen hospedajes estudiantil. El baño siempre estuvo sucio y con fuerte olor a pis, nunca hubo agua caliente cuando se lo informamos al agente nos indicó que verificáramos los otros dos baños del mismo piso lo cual verificamos y no había agua caliente. De hecho cuando hicimos check in otro huésped se quejó de lo mismo. La propiedad se muy vieja y deteriorada. La habitación tiene un solo ventilador de Techo y tienes que dar 10€ de depósito y es como único puedes prender el ventilador (luego te devuelven los 10€) lo hacen por malas experiencias con otros clientes que no lo devuelven el control del ventilador. En la habitación se escucha TODO fue muy incómodo ya que las luces del pasillo entraban a la habitación y siempre estaba iluminada y no podíamos descansar a parte del ruido de los otros huéspedes cada vez que entraban o salían de sus habitaciones se escuchaban las puertas súper fuerte al cerrarlas o abrirlas. Una mañana se escuchaba súper fuerte la conversación de una empleada con otra persona. Me da la impresión que le dan prioridad y sobre todo toman su tiempo a contestar cada comentario que dejan los huéspedes en vez de darle prioridad a arreglar la propiedad y sus alrededores.

This was really a fabulous value and an excellent location! However, being on the sixth floor and an elevator that rarely worked did make it challenging for the 62-year-old. The staff were amazing.
Despite not being very tidy clean, mostly due to guests leaving towels on the floor, etc. I would probably stay here again since I’m such as cheapskate lol & again location is fabulous for the value!

I stayed on the twin bedroom and had overall got a great experience, the bedroom was bigger than I was expecting, comfortable beds, great location, close to everything (including tourist attractions, groceries stores and restaurants). The only major problem that i got was in my last day the water from the shower was not heating up, I don't know how fast they fixed since I checked out before it. Highly recommended for short stays.

It was very good and definitely value for money. Location is superb and right beside all the big shops. Staff on daytime were excellent but unfortunately whenever was on duty the night of 2nd had a very bad attitude. He was rude to 2 different arrivals arrivals and the to me asking about remote for AC. I informed him of this and also noted he was extremely nice to a passing Spanish guest. It looks as if for this person if you are Spanish he will be nice. Very unfortunate as everything else was great. Shared kitchen fully equipped and 4 different areas on my floor. Everything looks new. 2 shower rooms for 6 rooms but beer had to wait. Obviously gets a bit wet during early morning but as expected. Great value and would use again

My daughter and I arrived at 11:30 pm and checked in, that is when we found out that the property had shared bathrooms, this is not very clear in the profile in Expedia. When we got into the elevator it was dirty, when we got out of the elevator the rug was dirty, when we got into the room it was dirty, we had booked a two bed room it had only one, the handle of the entrance door was broken and the door looked like somebody tried to go in and it was broken. We felt very unsafe and definitely couldn’t sleep in this place that was dirty and unsafe. They asked me on check in for my credit card, which has never happened to me even in 4 star hotels and took pictures of our passports, now I am worried what they can do with it. The photographs in Expedia do not really show the place how it is. We panicked and luckily were able to book another hotel. When we left the girl in reception was taking care of other clients and she never asked us anything, she just extended her hand to get the keys. This was the worst experience I’ve have ever had una hotel, and I have stayed in hostels in Spain. I will try to get a refund. Don’t stay there. Location is great, the place is not.

Considering this was located right in the city centre of Madrid the price was excellent value. All the major attractions are within walking distance (no more than 20 mins) and shared facilities including a kitchen. However, the rooms are tiny, but this shouldn't be a problem if you plan to be out and about all day long. On the whole, I would highly recommend this stay for anyone looking for the best of both worlds with the price and location.

Have I somehow missed the statement in the description that you will be living in the same flat as millions of other people? I don't think so. This flat is unlike any I have ever seen; there are a lot of hallways and rooms, but there are only three bathrooms. The flat was filthy. The bathrooms were disgusting. In addition, the shower drains were completely blocked. In addition, none of the bathrooms had windows or ventilation. So the entire flat, including the lift, smells like a toilet! I am not exaggerating when I say that the shower floor was ankle-deep in water in just 15 seconds. I was unable to properly wash my body, much less my long hair! There was also nothing practical: no kitchen towels, no toilet paper, no teas... Along with the charming photos they posted, the washing machine option was another reason I picked this location. I never had a chance to use it because it was always on. However, after seeing the place, I seriously doubt that I would have used it even if it had been available.
Ultimately, I was forced to dispose of my clothes and socks in the trash just before I left. I am really repulsed.

Check-in and check-out were quick and easy. Room was bright and airy and had a comfortable single bed, wardrobe, desk and chair and plenty of storage. There were fridges, hobs, microwaves, ironing equipment and a washing machine at my disposal. The location being on Gran Via is extremely noisy, day and night. I was a bit worried that the front door to the apartment on the 4th floor was almost permanently left open and nobody on the front desk seemed to be monitoring who comes and goes beyond a cursory glance. My room within the apartment was lockable, though, so that was good.

Location is excellent very central but it is more like an apartment with rooms and shared bathrooms. Cleaners come everyday to clean bathrooms but still not very clean. Your stay has to be over 7 days to get your room cleaned or they won’t touch it

Simple, Plain & Well Located Accommodation

Great location on Gran Via (major downtown shopping street). Close to metro, buses. Restaurants all around. Community kitchen is hostel clean, well organized and well used. Free washing machines, a plus. Negatives are cold water only one morning…need paint job in common areas. Strict no early check in rule is a bummer and no safe place to drop off luggage for early arrival. Bathrooms could be cleaner (mildew), and always running out of toilet paper. Other than kitchen no gathering areas to meet other guests. Just a come-and-go place. Once you’re checked in no towel exchange or room cleaning. But clean, simple private bedroom with lamp, shelving, desk & chair & hangers. Very thin walls from room to room.

Todo estuvo en general bien, sobre todo la ubicación que me parece perfecta. Solo hay tomar en cuenta que si te toca un cuarto por la cocina, que es compartida, la gente alli hace bastante ruido, no respetan mucho las horas. Si eres de sueño ligero eso te puede molestar. Por lo demás bien!

No AC, need to put a 10 euro deposit for a fan remote, so I'm going to sleep in heat, in the middle of every noise you can imagine, shared bath and shower not the greatest experience I've had, went to Santo Domingo hotel better accommodation. I'm good on this place. Do your research hard before choosing, lesson learned.

Area was in center area but was dirty, noisy, and with minimal staff around for assistance. Area is under renovation and room walls are thin everything can be heard
