The Doubletree Hotel Sacramento is a full service Sacramento hotel centrally located in the Sacramento Point West Marketplace adjacent to the region's largest shopping mall Arden Fair. The area provides both business and leisure travelers with award winning shopping, dining and entertainment options.
The hotel is conveniently located off Business 80, 5 minutes from downtown Sacramento, State Capitol, Sacramento Convention Center and Old Sacramento and we are 12 miles from the Sacramento International Airport (SMF). The hotel is in the heart of the Point West business district, adjacent to the Arden Fair Mall home to Nordstrom's, Macy's and 165 specialty stores.
Our hotel is within walking distance to the Cal Expo, location of the State Fair and numerous events year round and also home of Raging Waters Theme Park and satellite horse racing. Within 5 minutes of the hotel you can enjoy historic Old Sacramento, California Railroad Museum, Crocker Art Museum, Sutter's Fort, California Museum and the California Indian Museum and Cultural Center.
We are also a great location for day trips to Napa, San Francisco, Reno, Tahoe and Yosemite. If you are interested in the Sacramento's wine region we are a short drive to Amador/Shenandoah wine country featuring Zinfandel, Syrah and Barbera varietals.

Back door to property was UNLOCKED! Had a key pad to use so you could swipe your room key to enter but it did not work! Anyone could and did enter the property and have access to the elevators. We were going down to dinner and opened our door only to find a disheveled woman standing there. She said she had the wrong room but we waited and watch her walk down the hall where she stopped at another door and sat on the floor. A housekeeper was nearby so we told her and she went to confront the woman. The bars in the parking lot also didn’t work as they were raised the entire time we were guests so any cars could access the parking lot. Front desk people were nice and rooms were clean and comfy but I just didn’t feel safe on the property. I will not return nor can I recommend this property.

Although the building seemed new, we didn't have hot water and we had to be somewhere at 630am and had to swtch hotel rooms. The walls were thin, and although the one other room that was rented in our building was right next to us and they were LOUD. And parking was $12 a night - that's a joke its not as if there was security surveilling the lot The towels were hard, the bed was uncomfortable. It was close to our venue and there were many stores close by so that was a plus.

The breakfast at Twigs was amazing! The front desk staff were very friendly. Our 1st day I asked for the bathroom to be cleaned when we returned later that evening no one had cleaned the bathroom then I had to ask for towels every morning. We also had to contact the supervisor to claim breakfast vouchers on our last day. At checkout I was told no charges were made on my credit card then was charged for parking which I thought was included in our package stay. Too many issues will not be staying there again. Thank you.

After refusing to check my son and I in for a visit on November 29 due to my CC being used for incedentals expiring in 2 days (Dec 1) despite a one day visit, the desk agent was cold and more interested in moving us along than helping us with options or exceptions. Not appreciated after a 500+ mile drive from Portland.
While I understand financial policies are there for a reason, I didn't appreciate the lack of concern for our situation nor the lack of effort to identify alternative stay options. We ended up at a less-safe, local motel that didn't insist on using a cc for indidentals.

My heater also wasn’t working at first. Maintenance fixed it, but afterward it made loud, strange noises throughout the night. I was stuck choosing between being warm or trying to sleep through the heater noise and the hallway noise.
Because of this combination, I’m torn between 3 or 4 stars. The staff and cleanliness were great, but the noise and heater issues really affected my rest.

The room was clean and front desk was nice. The room selection was an issue since they changed my room that I checked into. I tried using their text option as well as the app to communicate to the hotel with no reply. Upon calling, they couldn’t do anything to accommodate my request since they were fully booked. The floors and walls seemed thin. You could hear footsteps at night above and a child crying nonstop next door which made it hard to sleep.

The overall experience was poor. Check in is at 4 and I arrived to the property at 3:45. They informed me I could not check in yet - have never experienced this before but I understood. At 4, there was a line of about 20 folks. The entire process took about an hour. The room was alright. I paid for parking and the parking lot remained open ALL NIGHT as the parking barrier was broken. What is the point of paying for parking if my vehicle won’t actually be protected? No late check out available, despite front desk reassuring we could receive a late check out due to the check in inconvenience, when prompted by guests. Staff weren’t friendly or accommodating.
