Fairly good place, located 3 minutes from train station and walking distance from town centre. Clean, all in good condition, completely quiet despite next to busy road and train tracks. Bed a bit on the soft side, and a coffee maker in the room would be nice. Tip: sign up for their ‘H Rewards’ loyalty programme and you get free public transport ticket from reception.

The hotel is clean and conveniently located near the train station. Room service is upon request (not sure if there is a charge). There is no shampoo/conditioner in the room, which is weird. When asked, I was told to use the body wash instead. Seriously?! I also did not appreciate being charged for an early check in. I arrived around 1 pm. I understand when the room is unavailable, but they had the room and still charged me 25 euro.

Comfortable stay but would have liked toiletries

We stayed for 2 weeks in July 2025 while in Mainz for a business trip. We had a comfortable room and everything was clean. We would have liked shampoo in the room, and other basic toiletries like cotton buds, cotton balls, shower caps, which are usually provided by hotels. Other than that, the bed was comfortable, airconditioning was good, cleaning staff clean when you request for them, but the cleaning was a little inconsistent. For example some days we would get water, some days not, and some days we would get less towels. Not a big issue, just something we noticed. Overall everything was good.

The hotel was only 20 minute walk after our Rhine cruise and easy to find via Google. Friendly helpful staff as we decided to eat in and got delicious cocktails with the buffet. Room was excellent and buffet breakfast to be recommended. Loved the pink grapefruit and bacon! Very close to the train station ( less than 5 mins) made our one night stay

Great to have the option to open the window or use the aircon.
One recommend would be to have the option for more pillows on the bed as only one each.

Very modern, quiet, comfy and handy!

A very handy hotel just opposite the West exit from the main station. Modern building with spacious, comfortable rooms, really quiet even though on a main road. Staff friendly and helpful, if you join their free H+ rewards you get a free public transport ticket for the local area which is handy. I got my free drink for being a Hotels.com status customer at check in. Room was nice with free bottled water, shower a bit weak as it's an eco shower but otherwise I'd recommend highly for the price paid!

Location was ideal next to the railway station but it was noisy but that was not the hotels fault. The girl on reception was friendly and helpful The hotel rooms themselves weren’t very welcoming. They were dark and dated but very clean. I didn’t like that they changed the towels every day whether we wanted them to or not. Not very green. Our stay was ok!

Will not stay here again. The front desk person when we checked in was exceptional! He was very helpful, outgoing and professional.
The lunch we had was poor and tasteless, we did not know why the other staff said, that customers enjoyed it , it was over priced with no flavor and we had to pay extra for coffee. It was a disappointment.

Op zn Duits: direct, formeel en efficiënt. Niet spontaan rekening gehouden mt GOLD en VIP status, geen welkomst drink. Late checkout moeten 'afdwingen\", maar wel gekregen. En zoals steeds ook in andere hotels: van kamerdeur terug naar receptie om sleutel te reactiveren omdat geen rekening wordt gehouden met late check-out. Restauratie beperkt maar in orde, ontbijt niet genomen omdat schandalig duur: meer dan 30 euro! Heel weinig restauratie in directe omgeving.
Kamer en bed zeer ok. Parking 20 euro/24 uur niet echt goedkoop.

The staff at the reception/hotel was very rude and unprofessional. First, they claimed there was no room availability and seemed uninterested at check-in. They did not care to explain what services were available or included during the stay.
Secondly, my guest arrived the lobby and indicated that he was was waiting for me stating that I would be there in about a minute, but was repeated asked to leave the lobby and reception area and wait outside. They did not bother to call my room to verify or let me know they were asking him to leave the hotel. Upon arrival and checking out, the staff continued to be rude and yelling \"get out of here to my guest and myself\". His colleague seemed not bothered by his behaviour. I indicated that I would have liked to speak with hotel manager were I not in a rush to catch the train that morning, but to my surprise this staff encouraged me to call once I get to my destination \"once you get to Toronto\" and declined to apologize for his behaviour towards my guest.

I have stayed here twice; once on business and then again for a business/ couple’s weekend combo trip. Like other hotels from this company, it is basic. Nothing special, but clean and new. Breakfast is great and staff is very helpful. I would stay here again. Perfect for business or if you plan to walk around the city on a weekend tour. Close to main train station, university and the center city (where most historical cites are located).

Conveniently close to hbf, but a sub-par Intercity

Located a short walk from the train station - maybe 15-20min walk from the city centre, but easily accessible by public transport which is free with the hotel's transport ticket.
Clean, modern and well equipped room, with good sound-proofing despite fairly busy area below. Unfortunately, the overall experience not at the same level compared to my previous Intercity stays at other locations.
Oval building shape may look cool from the outside but on the inside it cuts the size of the room, and allows for only one smallish-size window, making the room rather dark. If you don't sign up for the loyalty scheme, the internet provided is poor and slow. That in 2021, if you pay for the room and a 'business hotel' doesn't provide a decent internet connection, is pathetic. Ibis budget does better on that.
For those who are offered some extra silver/gold benefits, don't count on them. I was promised a free room upgrade and drinks - got nothing. And not a word of explanation, let alone an apology. Not sure if it's the hotel itself or hotels.com who's lying here, but there's no extra benefit.

Zimmer und Hotel gesamt sehr gut.
Beim Frühstück für 15,-€ p.P. passte jedoch das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis überhaupt nicht. Hartgekochte Eier, Salami, 1 Sorte Wurstaufschnitt, 1 Sorte Käseaufschnitt. Abgepackt Leberwurst, Frischkäse, Brie. Für 15,-€ erwachte ich etwas mehr, Schinken roh und gekocht, mehr als eine Sorte Wurstaufschnitt, Rührei, Speck, etc.
Zudem war die Wurst lieblos aus der Verpackung des Großhandels auf dem Serviertablett \"umgelagert\" worden. Die fehlende Auswahl ist mit \"Corona\" nicht zu rechtfertigen. Be anderen Hotels funktioniert das auch.
Brötchenauswahl war OK, Saft und Kaffee auch.
Das Servicepersonal beim Frühstück war unaufmerksam.
Kurzum das Frühstück entsprach nicht dem Standard des Hotels.
Leider ist die Tiefgarage mit einer Höhenbegrenzung von 1,90m die nicht in der Beschreibung auftauchte. Nebenan ist jedoch ein öffentliches Parkhaus. Preis war ähnlich wie im Hotel.
Hotel liegt an stark befahrener Zufahrtstraße, jedoch sind die Zimmer ruhig. Bushaltestelle direkt vorm Hotel, 1A Anbindung. Bahnhof 3 Gehminuten entfernt. Lage für Kurzurlauber die sie Stadt besichtigen möchten sehr gut.

This was the last stop on our honeymoon. We had a lovely stay. Conveniently located near the train station. Walking distance to the old part of town and museum we wanted to see. We were able to get to the airport just as quickly as quickly and we didn't need to stay in Frankfurt. A great place to cap off our visit and stay!

The hotel is quite close to the train station, which is what we were looking for when we booked. (It's about a five-minute walk.) The room was clean. However, the Internet connection in our room was useless. We could connect but not open any pages because the signal was so weak. But the reason I'm giving this hotel a bad rating (and the reason I would not recommend this hotel or stay here again) is that at 9:00 a.m. on the day we were checking out, we were woken by someone knocking on the door. Then the door suddenly burst open. The person (a worker for the hotel) said something in German and then left. Then, at 10:00, someone knocked again, saying it was housekeeping. Check-out is not until noon, so I wasn't sure if someone was trying to rush us to leave or simply had no information as to which rooms were occupied. Perhaps in the future, the hotel can better communicate with its housekeepers as to which rooms are still in use and when people are checking out.

I stayed two nights in this hotel. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. Free tickets for public transport were provided. Hotel location was good and near the Central Station within few minutes but make sure to find the right exit. Breakfast was general and there were flies found. The room was spacious but the towels were in grey, feeling not clean enough.

If you’re traveling by train, it can’t be any better than to stay at an InterCity Hotel such as the one in Mainz. It’s right across the street from the hauptbahnhof—main train station. The hotel is immaculate and the staff is great. Plus they give you a free tram/bus pass for all of Mainz and Wiesbaden.

It was overall very nice. The breakfast was great. My only problem was with noise if I opened my window since my room was right over a busy highway. Also, I never was able to determine how to operate the thermostat in the room. A good point is that the hotel is near a major stop for buses and trams.

We had an overnight layover and stayed here because we prefer Mainz to Frankfurt for a quick stay. The location was great and close to the train and bus station. They give you a free bus pass for Mainz when you check in which was useful to explore a bit. The room was nice and comfortable. I'd stay here next time I have a Frankfurt overnight.

This was a perfectly decent stay: the hotel is perfect for its central position in Mainz (next to the main railway station; right opposite a major tram/bus stop; and within walking distance to the town centre. The hotel gives guests a free local transport pass for the duration of the stay. The room was clean and moderately comfortable. Breakfast was fine but not really great value. Whilst the hotel lacks public areas (apart from the bar) this was fine since I did not spend much time in the hotel. Walking to the hotel from the station take the back entrance in the station and you will see the hotel. Reception staff were helpful.

Upon checking in, we were slightly disappointed that our 2 rooms are split by a room in the middle but we did not demand strongly.
On the second night, both of our rooms heard very loud noise from the room in the middle several times plus a bang on one of our rooms. We mentioned that to the hotel staff while checking out, he kindly offered us breakfast buffet at no charge. We were quite please as we did not expect that..

Very close to train station and easy to find. Easy walk to center. Lots of English stations on tv but all news, would like a movie or sit com in English. News can be a downer. Free bus pass but didn't use it. like having a fridge but the drinks were very expensive. Stayed at less expensive places and water was free. Couldn't get the heat to go up but didn't ask for help either. The shower was great, hot and good pressure. Would like to have 2 hand towels instead of one. No toiletries given

The InterCity Hotel, Mainz is great for location. It is across from the train station, making it easy to go to and from the airport, and to visit nearby towns and cities, by train. The hotel supplies a free bus pass to get downtown, for the duration of our stay, along with a handy card to tell us the bus numbers to take. The bus stop is across from the hotel. It is a short ride (about four bus stops) to downtown. Front desk staff is helpful and friendly. Computer access is available and convenient in the lobby. Breakfast is varied and plentiful, with an abundant buffet. Our room was comfortable and spacious. It was clean, however, the maid service is somewhat inconsistent - we had to point out that we needed soap, or toilet paper. or tea. There is a kettle in the room, with a variety of teas and coffee supplied. My only critique, would be that the pillows need to be replaced. They are lumpy and well used. We stay in this hotel frequently and are never disappointed.

Overall, an ok experience. The hotel is about a 15-minute walk to the center. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable. The hotel staff was accommodating. Two annoyances: 1) The Wi-Fi is slow, and 2) the TV kept turning off every half hour or so, for energy-saving purposes apparently. There's an adjacent parking garage (15€ per day). Would stay there again.

The hotel is easy to get to from the bus or train area which makes it convenient. It's a bit loud in that area because of the heavy traffic though. I found the room comfortable but too warm, no matter how I set the AC. It was too loud outside to open a window yet too warm in the room...so I didn't sleep well. The shower/bathroom was nice but had a bad smell to it. The restaurant is good if you want to stay in.

Not worth it

The sofa was dirty with a large stain, the bathroom was not clean.
Forget about free wifi, it's so slow that you can't even download emails. We had to pay €8/day for premium internet.

What a mess!

We booked this hotel for 3 nights. One week before, we informed the hotel that we will only be staying for the last night. We acknowledge this was a non-refundable, and the hotel did say they would not refund the 2 nights we would not spend.
To our surprise, when we have arrived, the hotel was fully booked, and our room was unavailable. The hotel didn't offer any solution, neither a refund since it was their mistake.
After a long discussion and calling hotels.com (which was very diligent to find a solution at that hotel or proposing alternatives), we got a suite room, with one full bed and one sofa bed (1.4m long, obviously available only for kids).
No apologies from the hotel, and they even charged us for parking and internet on top.

This is no way to treat guests, particularly when we are paying 3 nights and only using 1!

I'd recommend you select another hotel that can honor their bookings.

Stayed Few days... Nice hotel

Nice hotel! No free high speed internet, just sad for this day and age! A little noisy due to traffic but it is very convineient to get around city due to main station.
