Great location for the Dutch Grand Prix. Place was tranquil and quite and well connected with publuc transport. The rooms are dated, service and front desk very good. Nice and tasty breakfast.

The Hotel Leonardo Hotel IJmuiden Seaport Beach was a bit out of the way unless you are leaving from the cruise port. That being said, the staff were all wonderful and accommodating, easy to work with and always with a smile. The waiters and the dining room Manager were friendly and easy to speak to. Everyone was very informed about the area and options available, unfortunately unless you rent a car, there were not many. We only stayed one night, before our cruise departure so we had a lovely relaxing night on the patio overlooking the boat harbor. Our rooms were clean, spacious and well stocked. The walls are thick enough, you cannot hear the neighbors and the included breakfast was wonderful and fresh. We would stay there again any time our cruise leaves from that port.

This was a great stay with family. They had a big kiss playroom with games and toys when it was raining, they let us book a private family session in the sauna which was great and the breakfast was lovely. The staff were very friendly. Thank you!

Leonardo hotel is a typical seaside hotel. The lobby is nice and the staff friendly. The rooms are a bit tired and could be cleaner. My ice bucket was dirty and the floor was sandy, clearly not properly cleaned before our arrival. We also did not get daily housekeeping, which is ok, but should have been advised at booking, or from the front desk at checkin. Not much around the area, and no places to eat unless you take transportation to another area. I probably won’t stay here again.

We waited 4 hours to get our reserved suite. It turned out to be fairly shabby, though clean. And not facing the harbor, but rather, the road. I am certain the photos showed the harbor. The air conditioning doesn't work well. And the glass doors into the bedroom afforded no light protection or privacy. The staff varied between okay and accomodating. Breakfast was excellent. It is convenient to the cruise terminal.

We booked this hotel for the proximity to the Felison Cruise terminal. The hotel was perfect for our needs. Easy check in, spacious and clean room, great view, mini fridge worked, kettled worked, safe worked, separate room for toilet and one for the shower. We didn’t use the gym and the sauna room was locked. We assume it was not working. We ate at the restaurant in the hotel for dinner one night. The meals were very good and not overpriced. Service was excellent but a little slow at first. The staff were all great and spoke English very well. There are several restaurants located within steps of the hotel plus a little corner store that sold drinks, snacks, yogurt, hummus, cheeses, some baked goods, etc. There was enough there for us to have a quasi supper the night we arrived. We also bought fruit, etc there for breakfast before walking over to the cruise port. The beach was also two minutes away and went on for miles. We will definitely stay here again if a future cruise leaves from IJmuiden.

Absolutely fantastic place to stay. The rok.s are fairly basic but an awesome view and the staff were amazing. I cant praise them enough. I have been to so many places where the staff dont realky care. Here they were so attentive and sorted several problems very efficiently. The food in the evening is awesome and i dont say that lightly. Many hotels the food is really bad and getting worse. Here it was great and even though they had a big group in they were still very very good. Thankyou to all the staff especially the guy waiting tables.

We arrived late at 1 am after driving 7 hours. Booked a room with 2 beds but the receptionist said it was booked wrong because it was just for one person. The receptionist was very argumentative and not helpful at all. We had to discuss with him to get the room key and he was not sure if we could get the room because he wasn’t sure about the price. It may suddenly be double since we are 2 people. Overall a dissatifuying welcome and completely unnecessary discussion.

I was their guest of the day and received drink vouchers. They know how to make tasty cocktails! The breakfast buffet was yummy. Overall the staff were professional and friendly. The place was very beautiful (fireplace, hottub with a nice view) and squeaky clean. Didn't want to leave!

Staff were excellent and the balcony room had a great view. The only problem I had was the parking. I didn't realise you had to go behind the Hotel and collect a ticket, and then the barrier lifts. You also have to get the ticket validated by reception. I think there should be a note somewhere about that under parking.

Arrived later than expected on motorbike after a wet, windy and long journey, so we were feeling a bit tired and sore. Reception staff were lovely and welcoming and upgraded us to a room with jacuzzi, just what we needed to relax away the strains of our journey and a free drink in the bar to boot, fabulous. All staff were really lovely and helpful, nothing was too much bother. Bed very comfortable, view great, food enjoyably and good parking for motorbike We will be back

The best thing about the hotel is the location, effectively right on the beach, and an abundance of parking. The common areas of the hotel are ok and well maintained. The rooms are frankly shabby. The walls were scuffed, the curtains didnt close because there were insufficient hooks to hang the curtains onto the rail. The furniture was old and needs replacing (except for the bed, which was good) . The sofa was frayed and had a hole in the covering. There are so few lights in the living area that it was impossible to read without a torch. TV reception was fuzzy and the remote control didn't work so we had to change channels using the buttons on the TV. We tried to \"call Jenny\" which is how you communicate with the staff if you need something, but no one ever answered the phone. The restaurant was ok but service was very slow. The breakfast buffet was fine.

The hotel is great if you want the beach on your doorstep. The common areas look ok but the rooms are a bit tired and in need of refurbishment. The furniture is sparse. The breakfast buffet in the high season is a bit of a bun fight, and there can be a shortage of tables and food at peak breakfast times. The restaurant is not really able to accommodate wheelchair users as the access is down some steps and the ramps they provide are inadequate. It's an OK hotel but not anything to write home about, unless access to the beach is your main priority

Always stay here when on business at TATA Steel, won't stay anywhere else. Conveniently located plus all the usual refinements you would expect from Holiday Inn. Cannot fault it, has everything and does everything I need. now into double figures on the number of stays and will continue to do so.

The room was a god size, clean and comfortable. There was an issue with a water leak in the corridor which made it a bit musty, but there was a workman fixing it the next day. Breakfast was very good with large choice and fresh juice. Staff were friendly and helpful.

This is correct, except they forgot to mention that you have to climb 2 sets of steep stairs up and down a two story seawall!! Rolling your cruise luggage across that requires a lot of strength!!

Hotel provides excellent service and excellent rooms. Ideal location for boarding cruise ships at the Felson Terminal. 40 minutes from center city and 40 minutes from Schiphol Airport. Few restaurant choices within walking distance of hotel. Beach is a 5 minute walk from hotel. Front desk staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.

Arrived late at 2300 and was upgraded to a fabulous suite. A pity asi needed to be on the road again at 0600. Room had tea and coffee making facilities which was great as restaurant was understandably closed as was rthe bar. Reception offered to get me an alcoholic drink if I liked.

Hotel was nice. Suite was 2 rooms with balcony overlooking the harbor. Close proximity to beach. Within walking distance of the Fellican Cruise terminal although steps involved to get over to it or a short taxi ride if you prefer not to walk. Hotel conveniently located to bus stops.

Perfect location near the beach in the dunes, across the triad from the marina and a bus stop at the hotel. Can rent bikes to go on the beach but someone should warn visitors about the free range bulls that are in the dunes. Also the breakfast is 18.50€ per person if you don't include it ahead of time and there is no where else to eat breakfast so we went to the nearby supermarket and got buns and juice and coffee.

Great location to stay before a cruise

We enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn. It was close to the cruise port so that we could walk less than a mile. The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. The only complaint is that the cost of a meal or snack and breakfast was costly. There is no ATM in the area. We would definitely stay here again if we cruise out of Amsterdam.

Fit for purpose

Difficult to reach by public transport from Amsterdam, and there is very little in the surrounding area.
I used to the hotel as a base for a nearby training course and provided a comfortable room with good staff. Restaurant was a little expensive but good.

My room was overlooking the Marina. The location of the hotel is close to the beach - great place for water sports enthusiast. Great view of the entrance to the channel where one can view the huge passenger vessels making way to – from Amsterdam
The Hotel is ideally located if one wishes to be away from the hustle and bustle of a city.
The Hotel staff is very helpful and friendly.
The hotel restaurant is a great place to relax over a drink and a meal.
The add-ons are a free acess to the sauna and the Gym.

We stayed here for 2 nights to visit relatives and I was very impressed with the hotel as a whole. Had breakfast in the room and it was good, we also had club sandwiches in the restuarant and they too met expectations.
Every member of staff was very polite and helpful.
Location is a bit remote but I knew this when I booked, and the view are amazing

We were completely surprised and pleased with this beach treasure. The service from the staff was exceptional. The food was well prepared. The beach setting overlooking the harbor and the dunes a delight. The only downside was that when it is high season the two lane road in and out of the property will become quite congested. However it will be worth it,

Ijmuiden is a treasure

I have never been to Ijmuiden before but it has a really wonderful and huge beach with some good facilities. Even with a packed car park there is heaps of room.
The Holiday Inn is just about the only hotel in town but is very convenient. Rooms at the front overlook the Marina and the main entrance to Amsterdam 's commercial harbour which is quite a juxtaposition. Rooms at the rear face the main car park and little else.
I only stayed for one night but the rooms really need to be refurbished and my sink was cracked although the shower was good.

Best Hotel in a Long Time UNTIL...

...we checked out and they charged us for breakfast (40 Euro) that we did not attend to and then double charged us although we already paid through Expedia. Mistakes are made but it took three phone calls to get the right person to fix it and 10 days later the charges are still on our account. I still referred this Hotel to my friend, who is leaving tomorrow because of the comfort and location of the room. Very relaxing. The staff was otherwise nice as well. The cleanliness was alright, but there were a lot hairs in the bathroom. Yuck.

Die Parkgebühren sind eindeutig zu hoch. Wenn rund um das Hotel keine Parkplätze zur Verfügung stehen, sollte das Hotel den Gästen einen Sonderpreis für den öffentlichen Parkplatz machen.
Eine Stunde Sauna täglich, ist zur Entspannung auch deutlich zu wenig.
Beim Frühstück für knapp 22,00 Euro ist noch viel Luft nach oben. Drei Sorten Aufschnitt und angetrockneter Käse, war nicht lecker.

Zimmer okay, Fernseher hing sehr schief an der Wand, altes/ dreckiges Handtuch lag noch im Schrank. Haustiere erlaubt, aber im Gegensatz zu anderen Gästen wurde uns weder eine Wasserschüssel noch eine Decke angeboten. Online Check In hat nicht funktioniert, müssten vor Ort noch einen Betrag zahlen, die damle an der Rezeption reagierte nicht sehr freundlich und hatte auch keine Lust sich darum zu kümmern, warum in der App ein anderer Betrag stand. Sauna wird nicht täglich gereinigt (Haare vom Vortag lagen da noch rum). Service und Speisenqualität von dem Restaurant im Hotel AUSBAUFÄHIG, Service war teilweise leider sehr schlecht und dafür sind die Preise viel zu hoch. Cocktailkarte wurde im Vergleich zum letzten Jahr deutlich reduziert. Uns gefällt an dem Hotel eigentlich nur die Lage zum Strand für unseren Hund.
