We really enjoyed our stay here at this delightful boutique hotel near the train station and town centre. It was easy to walk to Haarlem to explore or to take the train into Amsterdam. The free coffee and tea were such a delight and show how much something seemingly small can add a lot. The room was super charming and spacious, with a king size bed, sitting area and spacious washroom with heated floors. The breakfast looked and smelled delicious and we would have considered it if we didn't have other plans or had stayed longer.
Highly recommend and would definitely stay here again if back in Haarlem.

Boutique Hotel Staats is charming, quirky and intimate. The hotel is tucked away on a quiet street in Haarlem, conveniently located in walking distance from the bus and train station. They offer lounge and bar service in a beautiful dining area, which makes the atmosphere so much more cozier on rainy days.
As for my stay, the room was situated in the back corner on the top floor—super quiet and secluded. I came to appreciate this quality after a long day coming back from the main city. Initially, I had my concerns with the open shower across from the sleeping area but the ac unit solved exactly what I needed. It would have been a bonus if the windows could open to let fresh air in. A few critiques I’ll mention here are, the toilet room in my suite had an off-putting smell despite having daily housekeeping and the building is heavily scented (I suppose it’s their signature).
All in all, my four nights at the hotel was generally pleasant. I would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys a private and enchanting hotel experience.

Very well located property with comfortable large bedrooms and excellent beds and showers. The staff are very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The reception area facilities, with free coffee, tea and hot chocolate on demand, add a nice touch.
We particularly enjoyed the peace and quiet at night and the courtyard garden behind our room.

It’s a beautiful old school building turned into a hotel.
Keep in mind there is no elevator, however, staff was there to help us with our luggage.
The staff is very friendly and helpful and everything was clean. The breakfast was delicious with a variety of choices.

Breakfast was good. Omelets can be cooked fresh on request and the array of juices, bread, cereals and fruit were more than enough for anyone.
Rooms were decorated in individual styles. Number 3 had this huge steel breakfast bar in it. Not sure what it would be useful for in a bedroom, but it was there anyway.

Staff were exceptional-friendly, courteous, and helpful. The coffee machine and games in the bar area was very much appreciated on rainy evenings! Our rooms were beautiful, with comfy beds and cozy linens. The property was clean, well kept, modern and charming. Breakfast on our first day was outstanding. The chef was male, maybe new to the hotel. The next breakfast wasn’t as good - different chef. It is a quiet neighborhood, very walkable to market area. Overall, we loved our stay.

Large comfortable rooms although the set up for one was not so user friendly - with a large banana shaped bath tub in middle - so hard to use for multiple people ( 3 teens ). Excellent coffee and tea station, kept bikes safe in courtyard, close walk to everything, would stay again.

Staff very friendly and welcoming. Quirky bar / reception and decor throughout. Fabulous location just a few minutes walk from train station and town centre. Although my room was fine it was up 4 flights of stairs with no lift which was difficult with a dodgy knee. The staff did offer to help with my bags though. (The Hotel was full so I couldn’t change room). The breakfast was plentiful, I liked that you could help yourself to tea and coffee throughout the day and there were also tea making facilities in the room. The restaurant is lovely and a shame it wasn’t busy to add to the atmosphere. My room was spacious and I slept very well. Great shower and lovely toiletries. Extra vanity sets were available at reception. The fire alarm went off in the middle of the night ( False alarm) and the staff apologised the next morning and gave me a scented candle for the inconvenience (nice touch).

The hotel is quite nice and the staff is very friendly. However, be aware that there is no elevator. You have to carry your bags up and down steep stairs with shorter than usual tread depth. Lighting in the room is a bit dim, so bring a flashlight.
The breakfast buffet is very nice, and the chef will make you a custom omlette upon request. The freshly baked croissants are so light and flakey they almost float away. They are to die for.
The location is within walking distance of many parks and restaurants.

I thought the Hotel was overall very good. It is very well located less than 5 minutes from Haarlem Station. You can be in Amsterdam in 15-20 minutes with no trouble. Haarlem is also a lovely town in and of itself. The room is generally well kept. The ceilings are very high and I did notice a lot of dust on the higher sections of the wall. Not a knock, but a recommendation. We had the breakfast one day and while good, we were never approached for the fresh prepared waffles/omelets offered as part of the buffet. The other options were sufficient enough, really good croissants, so I wasnt that miffed, but I thought that if its an offering, the staff really should make sure that the offer is made. Generally, it was a pleasant stay with no issues in a safe area close to everything. I would definitely stay again, but those are some observations that could improve in the future.

We had a quick dinner at the restaurant, which offers a small menu. Food was very good, as was the breakfast. Staff was very friendly and location is perfect, on a quiet street in the city center near the train station and minutes walk from plenty of restaurants.

Absolutely loved this boutique Hotel Love the atmosphere, the decor, friendly staff, amazing interior designs. Breakfast was excellent Love the tea cappuccino maker that was available 24/7 for free. Dinner was fantastic: wonderful food with great presentation and amazing taste. This is a great property, one of a kind with a colourful and unique style. Lighting is soft and cozy. We love the bathtub and the beds and linen were top notch. Hotel is a short walk to the train station making travel simple. We will definitely be coming back as this will be our go to place in order to travel throughout Holland. Had a wonderful experience.

Good hotel. The reason for the lower score was the bathroom arrangement. The sink is retrofitted into some old furniture and it sprays water everywhere when it’s used. There isn’t a suitable mirror for shaving. The shower leaks water right across the room to the toilet. The whole room gets wet and dirty.

Very unique and quirky property! A VERY firm bed. It was kind of hard. A big TV is on a stand at the foot of your bed. I would not have wanted to try to find a toilet in the dark in thereThe shower was open make sure you are comfortable with your travelling partner because they will see all your bits!!. The check was not as smooth as hoped, the desk clerk was unclear in regards to the parking and made it a bit of a challenge to figure out what to do. Basically you're in a parking garage about block or so away from the hotel. A reservation for parking needs to be made ahead of time so you can save on some of the cost. More than 50%. Haarlem is beautiful!!

First, know that there is no elevator! We overlooked this detail when booking the hotel and regretted it. Our room was on the top floor.

I thought the decor was pretty funky, but it worked. Everything was clean, modern and comfortable. The breakfast was wonderful and access to the coffee machine 24/7 was a very welcome perk. The location was perfect. All said, it was a bit pricey but probably not relative to other Haarlem hotels.

Amazing helpful and pleasant staff. I booked the large ground floor suite which was amazing. Some may find the hotel and rooms unusual as it a boutique 70s style but really cool. It’s in 3 sections of a lounge, a bathroom area and a bedroom. The lounge area has a settee and large TV. The bath is huge and shaped like a hammock and fits 2 in but there is also a really nice shower area. The bedroom is large with a really comfortable XL bed and also has a TV. The areas were spotless and clean towels each day. Only had breakfast in the hotel which was continental style but there was bacon, scrambled or boiled eggs, streaky bacon, fresh tomato, mushrooms and hash browns. You can also order various egg combinations.

Great location near the train station. We wanted to visit Amsterdam and to save money we stayed here since it is very close to the train station. I love the interior desigm and would definitely come back. Late at night there is a tabby cat waiting at the door or inside the hotel. He is a very nice fellow and I suggest you pet him. We got back from a night in town and the cat followed us to the hotel bar to have a beer with us.

Lovely decor and spacious rooms. Lots of steep steps to climb up though! Very convenient for railway station, but about 10 minute walk from the main area of Haarlam. We enjoyed our stay very much, the only let down was the dinner which was very disappointing- seems like the previous place which scored highly has closed down, and the new offering felt like they didn’t have a chef on board yet. I’d reccomend walking into Haarlam for dinner until they get themselves better sorted.

Loved this hotel! - a beautiful old building with quirky decor, very close to Haarlem station and a short walk to the centre of town. We had a lovely spacious room on the second floor, with a super comfy bed and views out to beautiful treetops. The breakfast options were delicious and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Just a note on accessibility - the building has no lift and the stairs are steep so if you're not fit ask for a room on the ground floor.

This was my second time staying at the Boutiquehotel Staats within a year and it is one of my favorite hotels of all times. Each room is unique and charming and so fun. The reception area where they provide coffee, tea and treats around the clock is such a great addition. We spent time outside in the lovely patio/garden area and loved seeing the chickens! This is my go to spot in Haarlem and it should be yours too. It's definitely a gem. I give it 5 stars!

Omg! I was blown away at the beauty of this hotel! I loved the room 004. It was walking distance to the bus station and train station. Bus 300 goes directly to the airport! The bus system is very reliable and I absolutely LOVED my stay! The breakfast was also incredible! I can’t recommend this hotel enough! You will not be disappointed! The city is so walkable and this hotel couldn’t be in a better location!

Can not recommend this hotel enough as it was a perfect vacation when visiting Amsterdam, The hotel is 5 min from the station, but we found Haarlem to be the highlight of our visit, with an abundance of shops, restaurants and cafes, but just a great town to visit.

The room was very cozy with a comfortable bed, good water pressure from the shower, and nice-smelling soaps/shampoos. There was a lovely lobby with a nice coffee machine and water filter filling bottles. The staff was incredibly friendly and eager to help us. The hotel is also a quick, less than five minute, walk to the train station that takes you to the Amsterdam Central Station (probably 10 min on the train). I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone, unless you have trouble with stairs. This hotel has a lot of stairs, but worth it!
