Wonderful boutique hotel in a historic building with high ceilings and a welcoming atmosphere. Room was well appointed with a fantastic bed and good shower.
We had a quick dinner at the restaurant, which offers a small menu. Food was very good, as was the breakfast. Staff was very friendly and location is perfect, on a quiet street in the city center near the train station and minutes walk from plenty of restaurants.

Absolutely loved this boutique Hotel Love the atmosphere, the decor, friendly staff, amazing interior designs. Breakfast was excellent Love the tea cappuccino maker that was available 24/7 for free. Dinner was fantastic: wonderful food with great presentation and amazing taste. This is a great property, one of a kind with a colourful and unique style. Lighting is soft and cozy. We love the bathtub and the beds and linen were top notch. Hotel is a short walk to the train station making travel simple. We will definitely be coming back as this will be our go to place in order to travel throughout Holland. Had a wonderful experience.

Good hotel. The reason for the lower score was the bathroom arrangement. The sink is retrofitted into some old furniture and it sprays water everywhere when it’s used. There isn’t a suitable mirror for shaving. The shower leaks water right across the room to the toilet. The whole room gets wet and dirty.
Breakfast was by far the best part of the stay. Excellent chef cooked items to order and a good selection of other items.

The hotel is located in a convenient neighborhood, close to the train station and just a few minutes' easy walk to Haarlem’s Grote Markt. The staff are very welcoming, breakfast is enjoyable, and the all-day coffee and tea service is a nice bonus. The room design has a modern style that feels slightly dated, and I did notice a bit of dust on the bedside table. The common areas are beautifully decorated and inviting. Overall, a very nice stay — with a bit more attention to detail in room cleaning, it could be even better.

Very unique and quirky property! A VERY firm bed. It was kind of hard. A big TV is on a stand at the foot of your bed. I would not have wanted to try to find a toilet in the dark in thereThe shower was open make sure you are comfortable with your travelling partner because they will see all your bits!!. The check was not as smooth as hoped, the desk clerk was unclear in regards to the parking and made it a bit of a challenge to figure out what to do. Basically you're in a parking garage about block or so away from the hotel. A reservation for parking needs to be made ahead of time so you can save on some of the cost. More than 50%. Haarlem is beautiful!!

The hotel was located very close to the train and bus station in a nice quiet street. It was about a 10 minute walk to city centre.
The hotel was nicely decorated, very very clean and a delight to stay in.

First, know that there is no elevator! We overlooked this detail when booking the hotel and regretted it. Our room was on the top floor.
The man at the front desk graciously carried our bag up and I lugged it down three flights of steep Dutch death stairs in the morning. Not an easy feat for a small woman who might have done a little shopping on her 10 day trip.
Other than the accessibility factor, this is a lovely hotel with friendly staff and nice rooms.

I thought the decor was pretty funky, but it worked. Everything was clean, modern and comfortable. The breakfast was wonderful and access to the coffee machine 24/7 was a very welcome perk. The location was perfect. All said, it was a bit pricey but probably not relative to other Haarlem hotels.

Amazing helpful and pleasant staff. I booked the large ground floor suite which was amazing. Some may find the hotel and rooms unusual as it a boutique 70s style but really cool. It’s in 3 sections of a lounge, a bathroom area and a bedroom. The lounge area has a settee and large TV. The bath is huge and shaped like a hammock and fits 2 in but there is also a really nice shower area. The bedroom is large with a really comfortable XL bed and also has a TV. The areas were spotless and clean towels each day. Only had breakfast in the hotel which was continental style but there was bacon, scrambled or boiled eggs, streaky bacon, fresh tomato, mushrooms and hash browns. You can also order various egg combinations.

Great location near the train station. We wanted to visit Amsterdam and to save money we stayed here since it is very close to the train station. I love the interior desigm and would definitely come back. Late at night there is a tabby cat waiting at the door or inside the hotel. He is a very nice fellow and I suggest you pet him. We got back from a night in town and the cat followed us to the hotel bar to have a beer with us.

Lovely decor and spacious rooms. Lots of steep steps to climb up though! Very convenient for railway station, but about 10 minute walk from the main area of Haarlam. We enjoyed our stay very much, the only let down was the dinner which was very disappointing- seems like the previous place which scored highly has closed down, and the new offering felt like they didn’t have a chef on board yet. I’d reccomend walking into Haarlam for dinner until they get themselves better sorted.

We had a lovely spacious room on the second floor, with a super comfy bed and views out to beautiful treetops. The breakfast options were delicious and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Just a note on accessibility - the building has no lift and the stairs are steep so if you're not fit ask for a room on the ground floor.

This was my second time staying at the Boutiquehotel Staats within a year and it is one of my favorite hotels of all times. Each room is unique and charming and so fun. The reception area where they provide coffee, tea and treats around the clock is such a great addition. We spent time outside in the lovely patio/garden area and loved seeing the chickens! This is my go to spot in Haarlem and it should be yours too. It's definitely a gem. I give it 5 stars!

Omg! I was blown away at the beauty of this hotel! I loved the room 004. It was walking distance to the bus station and train station. Bus 300 goes directly to the airport! The bus system is very reliable and I absolutely LOVED my stay! The breakfast was also incredible! I can’t recommend this hotel enough! You will not be disappointed! The city is so walkable and this hotel couldn’t be in a better location!

The room was very cozy with a comfortable bed, good water pressure from the shower, and nice-smelling soaps/shampoos. There was a lovely lobby with a nice coffee machine and water filter filling bottles. The staff was incredibly friendly and eager to help us. The hotel is also a quick, less than five minute, walk to the train station that takes you to the Amsterdam Central Station (probably 10 min on the train). I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone, unless you have trouble with stairs. This hotel has a lot of stairs, but worth it!

It’s also perfect for Haarlem, about 5min walk to the city center and the main square with St Bavo’s Church. A laundromat is on the parallel street. The staff are wonderful and the spacious rooms have a unique and glam feel. Extra plugs conveniently placed around the room. Hotel Staats is not only luxurious but also offers a gorgeous interiour with a lot of eye for detail. The atmosphere is very relaxed, with those working at the hotel going about their work in a calm manner, it isn't loud at all and very effective. The whole process from check-in to check-out was easy. The room we upgraded to (presidential suite) was very nice with a comfortable bed, separate seating area and all in all a real experience. We ate in De Ripper restaurant on our first night, a restaurant that offers educational/work opportunities for young people. The whole evening was excellent, food, service and atmosphere, it all was very good and a must do for anyone staying in or nearby (but why not stay at Staats?). A special mention for Amber (who served dessert) and looks forward to travelling (dont forget to go to Cardiff!) and to the early team that did breakfast. It was lovely, made to order omelettes and a lovely selection of breads and other items.

This is definitely a unique, cute hotel. We picked it because it looked like it had a small, cozy bar & restaurant and were disappointed to learn that neither were opened the night we arrived. It would have been helpful if this was posted on the website. Parking was also somewhat of an issue and the person working was not very well informed about the options. We arrived at night in a rain storm so this might have clouded our thoughts

Loved the property but guests should know that the 1st floor is actually the 3rd floor. There is a Ground Floor then a Main floor then the 1st floor. I wasn't quite prepared for all the winding narrow stairs, but I did navigate them with the help of my cane. The property is beautiful though and we will definitely stay there again (I will just ask for a ground floor).
