Value and location

Nice local community location with parking just behind building at local Supermarket. Only thing that can improve is the washing of towels. I found a ball of long hair in one of mine but sure this does not happen all the time. Overall great value for money and a good stay. Reception staff very friendly and helpful.

great accommodation in a nice quiet neighbourhood

Perfect, if you like the following:
To enjoy Amsterdam without having to to endure the night noise, Zwannenburg is a lovely, quiet suburb, with plenty of convenient shops and places to eat nearby, the train station is a decent walk from the Hotel (about 15 minutes) but it’s a small hassle for such a nice venue, Room had funky decor, a great bathroom, a mini fridge, large screen TV and a balcony. The staff are very much hands off unless you need them, which personally I prefer, so you are free to come and go without having to have conversations. (Another place I’d stayed before involved feeling like you were asking permission every time you went out).

Overall no complaints at all!

Great place for a short stay as the top attic room I was in had hardly any room to manoeuvre but did the job for my stay.
No in room coffee facilities only inside the main entrance for €1
No heating in room during my 5 day stay until the lastnight when it was turnt on but overall good experience and pleasant polite staff.

A nice and neat family hotel to be recommended for those who do not have a hard time traveling 25 minutes to the center of Amsterdam (by foot from home to train and 10 minutes by train to the center.) Charming and helpful staff all the time at your service We probably visit them again.

Travelocity information does not match the current situation. The hotel has changed owners and does not offer an airport shuttle. Even the phones at the airport no longer exist.
The hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the train stop, and if we had known we probably would have booked a different hotel. The owner claims that they notified Expedia of the changes, but they were not acted on.
While we did not have a problem, some might have difficulties accessing the rooms, since there is no elevator and the stairs are steep and narrow.
The room itself was clean but small. The bed was pressed against the wall on one side. The bathroom was above average with new fixtures.

My partner and I stayed here on 2 seperate nights during our time in Holland & plan on returning! All of the staff are friendly and welcoming, the rooms are lovely, spacious & clean and the location is perfect (if you don't like the busy city). There are a number of shops close by along with plenty of places to eat & the train station is only a 15min walk away. You can come and go as you please & it really does feel like home! No faults at all, very happy with our stay.

samll room and not friendly reception

we faced a stricted receptionest when arrived and been reqested to summit each personal ID or passport to make copies even though I booked two rooms under my name.
one of the rooms is small that equipped with a double mattress and narrow space on the both side of the bed. Be alert, no air conditioner.
Also, we were asked to pay cash plus 12%tax, instead of 6%.
In the tiny lobby aera, I was charging my electronic gadgets and moved the sitting chair closer to the outlet when nobody around at 10pm. The receptionest pushed the chair back to the original place and insisted that the layout of the sitting aera can not be shifted. I said I would moved it back when I am finished. He ignored me.

Nice and quiet!

Great and relaxing. Was really nice to have a quiet spot away from the city, but is also close enough (by train) for frequent city adventures. Lots of great walking, running, or bike riding trails, as well. Can also get to the coast very easily and quickly by the train!

It was a nightmare...

Since the hotel does not provide shuttle transportation between the airport and the hotel, my family and I took a train (it took us 40 minutes) and then walked about 20 minutes to get to the hotel. I booked a room for two adults through Expedia.com and I have a 10 years old daughter with us. According to the booking policy of Expedia, one child under 11 years old should not be charged for staying with the parents in a room, but they charged us 30 Euros extra for my daughter to stay with us in the same room, making the total charge over 100 Euros!. Obviously, they robbed us. There was a jucuzzi hot tub in the bathroom, but it was leaking and the floor was very wet.

Not a good experience to stay.

Found marijuana in drawer. It seems belong to the former customer, but didn't be cleaned.

Didn't have Free Shuttle Delivery to and from Schiphol Airport which is included in the renting facilities. But the owner said that service was in last year, not this year. The hotel is far distance from Schiphol to hotel. I need to spend much money to hire taxi to there.

Bed is comfortable.

Good and quiet small city to stay.

Great room in small village setting

We had a wonderful time at this location. The balcony attached to the room was very relaxing which was just what we needed. Their outside garden area was wonderful with a gate leading to the playground and a walking path. We were able to get everything we needed around the corner with several stores and an added plus was the man selling fresh fish and fried fish in the morning, right around the corner. I would recommend this location to everyone.

Really lovely people looked after me and kept standards high with house keeping. Lent me 20 euros and also let me borrow European wall plug. Offered me help if needed. Although one down side is the heating doesn't work in your room when I asked why it was because \"it's hot outside\". Nevertheless was a great stay other then this would stay again.

Nice and clean but far from the public transport

First, notice that if you are a tourist without a car trying to stay out and do as much as possible don't stay here ! It is a small house turned into a hotel in the middle of a residential area that has a few businesses around, most closes around 9 pm. It is at least a 15 minute walk to the station from the hotel, or 11 minutes to the closest bus which at the end makes about a 30-40 minute trip to the Amsterdam downtown. However, the staff was friendly and the room looked clean and nice. The bed was comfortable, the shower was clean always, and the bed was comfortable. One last thing to mention was that the room smelled funny, I never notified it because I rarely saw the manager as I left early and got back late. Overall it was a good experience the main problem with it is the location, other than that everything is good.

Definitely recommend for the traveling couple!

Alex Rooms had the cleanest beds I've ever seen at a hotel. Very pleasant stay. Everything was great and the staff was very friendly. On our first day we got lost and we called Alex and he recommended a taxi. It should have been around 200€ for the trip but we were only charges 35€. Bus station was literally 5 minutes walking up the road and it takes you to central Amsterdam. Over all very nice and perfect for our stay.

Comfortable hotel, close to public transport

I needed a good place to stay near the airport, and was happy to find this small hotel in a quiet, pleasant town. I didn't see many restaurants, but there are a couple of good stores very close by. It was a bit disappointing that although other reviewers mentioned an airport shuttle, I was told that there wasn't one. However, you can get to the train station by bus, or walk there in about 20 minutes.

Definitely Avoid!

Freezing cold. No heating with 4 degree weather outside at night. Horrible experience caused me to get sick. Asked the manager several times to turn on the central heating and he invented some story about the city controlling the heating and shrugged his shoulders. Asked him for an electrical heater and he refused also. In the room was probably around 10 to 8 degrees celsius. Really uncomfortable. Big balcony but useless in the cold. Fresh towels everyday because in the freezing cold they didn´t dry.

Great hotel close to Amsterdam and Airport

The room was brilliant and the owner was very friendly from start to finish. We felt very welcome here and had access to a range of facikities, including a private balcony from our room. Although no food facilities within the hotel, 2 supermarkets and a good selection of restaurants are within less than 5 minutes walk, with the owner offering advice with this if needed. Rooms were very clean, comfortable and quiet, with fresh towels and a neatly made bed each day. Family Guy, in English is also available on the TV in the room. Would stay again if visiting Amsterdam, only 2 stops from centraal station and 3 stops from airport, however buy tickets in advance at a service desk at centraal or airport as the machines at halfweg station only accept card or coins, Not notes and inspectors were seen on the trains most days.

Everything you need for a short stay!

We stayed here one night to pad out our mini cruise trip to Amsterdam. The hotel was great, seems to be a converted house but everything was there that we needed.

We didn't spend too much time there, we mainly used the room to shower, sleep and relax after a lot of walking! There was no breakfast as far as I could tell, but as I said we didn't look for or need any as we were back in Amsterdam as soon as we got up.

The town itself is a ten minute train ride from Amsterdam Centraal, very easy to get to. The hotel is about another ten minute walk from Halfweg-Zwanenburg station, and there is a particularly nice restaurant on the way with wonderful staff.

The hotel staff were also very accommodating and chatty, and the communal conservatory and back garden are lovely.

Oh, good price too! Could be a bit close to the airport if you are a very light sleeper, but we heard zero plane noise through the night.

hotel cancelled two hours before my plane

The hotel sent me an email two hours before I had to leave for the airport saying they were overbooked so had cancelled my room and booked me into another. On their website they say they have a free airport shuttle (I had a one night layover arriving at 9:30 pm leaving at 7:30 am) but they put me in a hotel a half an hour from the airport. I said this was not acceptable to me and called. The person who answered then said they did not have an airport shuttle so either way I would be on mass transportation. Fortunately, Orbitz saved the day, most of the airport hotels were booked and all of them at very high price points (must have been something going on in Amsterdam) . Orbitz paid the difference and put me in an airport hotel.

The room is very small but clean and stylish....the young girl at the desk is nice.....but there is no elevator...you have to carry up your stuff....but the worst is the lies about the location...it s 19 km away from Schiphol and there is no shuttle privided.......so it cost me 58 euros to reach the place ....would have been better off booking at the airport....

Pretty nice place for the money

We had a larger room this stay and it was a lot better. We had two chairs to sit in which was nice and a normal size bathroom except just a tub but still handheld shower so Ok. All in all for the price we would stay again for sure. The town is cute but lacks restaurants. Great grocery though. It is half the price of Amsterdam rooms and with the cute terrace and park view it was nice to come home to. No coffee maker even though I was told there was one so we bought a coffee maker cheaper than paying $4 for a quarter of a cup of foam! We like our coffee! The walk to the train station is very nice but a bit too long when returning and your feet are sore. It is about C$10 roundtrip to Amsterdam. You also get airport shuttle which saves a lot.

The Good and not so good

I am only comparing to N. American hotels. The bed was great very comfy. The terrace outside and the garden view was exceptional. But the room was so small 2 people couldn't move around at all. Bathroom nice but very small you could not be a heavy person and manage in it. Nowhere to have breakfast was a serious lack but there is a great grocery very close thank goodness. We had to buy a coffee maker as for 8 days we had to have morning coffee. And we mean a full cup of Canadian coffee not a quarter of a cup of foam for $4. The tiny frig did not work well. A nice walk to the train when leaving for the day but a long walk after you have trudged around Amsterdam all day! However Because of the cost (half of Amsterdam) and the grocery store we would stay again. Also Alex and staff very nice and helpful.

Overall very pleased with our stay just be careful for hidden charges, for example we were told wed get airport transfers however when wed checked out we were told the shuttle to the airport only ran until half eleven in the morning and wed have to pay an extra €25 to get dropped to the airport. Other than that the room was perfect and only a quick walk away from a train station which brought u to the city centre in less than 10 mins.

Great hotel for a long layover in Amsterdam.

They pick you up from and drop you off at the airport in a timely fashion. Several of the rooms come with a large balcony at no extra cost. Way nicer than I expected for the price. I would stay here again.

We arrived into Schiphol Airport early in the morning and as Alex Rooms provide a free pickup from Schiphol Airport we rang and 20 minutes later we were picked up from the arranged pickup at B2. Otherwise we were told it was about €50 by taxi. That would be a sheer waste of €'s. Alex Rooms is located in Zwanenburg, a small town 12kms west of Amsterdam. The train station is a 15 minutes walk away or 10 minutes walking to a No. 80 Connexx bus that drops you into Amsterdam €4,20. If travelling as a family €14,00 get you an all day Connexx pass. There is a Bakery across the road which also serve good coffee with nearby supermarkets in the town. Friendly helpful service from the staff and we were allowed into our room on the top early early. If you have walking problems ask for a ground floor room. The room though small was excellent, clean, well maintained and had fast wifi. Our room opened onto a very large roof top balcony which is excellent. Parking is in a carpark at the rear of the accommodation. We found this an excellent location for our travel needs and would happily return

Lovely Break for myself and my husband the Guest house owner was so helpful and the accommodation was exceptional especially when it came to cleanliness and decor. we were very close to the local train station which was only a 10 minute journey into the center Amsterdam. It was lovely to come home after a busy day to some peace and quite would definitely go back again and recommend it to other travelers.

Having had our flights cancelled we had to find a hotel to stay for the night, and what a hotel it was, the price was excellent and included free transfer from and to the airport the next day! The man who was in charge was an absolute pleasure very helpful gave us a excellent room and gave us information on the local area! I really think that it was one of the nicest places to spend a night or two the hotel decor was amazing really modern and clean, would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a hotel in the area around schiphol! The longer I stayed there, the more anxious I was to leave. The room was nice, but \"it isn't the heating season,\" and the sink and shower took forever to drain. Dealing with the staff person was fair at best. I never felt comfortable there.

We had the Attic room which led out onto a large balcony with nice views across the town. The room whilst small was clean and beds were very comfortable. There is no air conditioning which is needed on hot days. Otherwise a great spot to stay with an easy walk to the train station.

Some good points but too expensive...

Overall : The location of the hotel is 20 minutes walk from the train station, you have to pay something like 13 Euros round trip to go to Amsterdam or to Haarlem so for that reason the price of the room was too expensive.
Hotel service : The reception person was very nice, friendly, nothing to say about him.
Room confort :
No air conditionning
The balcony was almost as big as the room, not enough space to move in the room, a lot of stuff to drink and eat (to pay of course) that was taking a lot of space in that tiny room. The fridge was almost making as much noise than the planes taking off and landing in Amsterdam which fly Zwanenburg.
Room cleanliness : the floor was not very clean.
Neighborhood was ok, noisy because of the planes.

Comfortable, cozy and peaceful

It was the perfect little hotel for me. I just had a brief stopover on my way home, and it was a nice, quiet, comfortable and homey place to stay. There was a market just down the street that I purchased my supper and breakfast at, and the WiFi was good enough to Skype. The staff and owners were very nice and helpful. There was a nice garden out back as well. Pick up at the airport was a little complicated since I didn't have a phone with me, but I used the instructions to call from a pay phone and they came to pick me up.

Not exactly what they advertise

Honesty in advertising this room is lacking: there is no air conditioning, there is no self service laundry, no coffee maker (unless you feed coins into their machine in the hallway ) and no dvd payer. More importantly, the standard room ( which has no balcony or patio) is too small for any sort of comfort, so don't consider this place unless you want to pay their higher rates for a bigger room. We asked to upgrade, but the bigger room had no shower. Be also aware the price they advertise is deceptive: they add 2 taxes/surcharges of 6 % each. No matter how much I questioned, I never got a clear answer as to why the city supposedly has 2 taxes, and neither were included in the advertised price.

This place is a fortress of security cameras, watching every move of everyone and monitored by the manager almost 24/7. It's unnerving !

The residential neighborhood where this converted rooming house is excellent. The manager and his wife, who live on the grounds, were very helpful and friendly.

Very nice little hotel

We had to return our rental car to the airport very early in the morning so decided to pick a hotel near the airport. Alex Rooms was a great little hotel (only 8 rooms), and about 25mins to the airport by car..It's not really nearby but the hotel does provide a free shuttle to/from the airport so it shouldn't be a problem. We didn't use the shuttle so can't provide any feedback.

The room was a little on the small side but very nicely furnished and the bathroom was quite huge. There is a very nice deck, with comfy sofas and chairs, out back so you don't have to be stuck in the room if you don't want to.

The service was great! They had made a mistake with our room (we requested for twin but they gave us a double) but once we pointed it out, they immediately switched rooms for us - I guess we were lucky that they had available rooms! We checked in very early but it wasn't a problem - they helped us with our bags and although the room wasn't ready, they said they would move the bags into the room while we went out sight-seeing for the day. And true enough, all our bags (and there were several!) were all waiting for us when we returned that evening.

One downside is that it is quite a distance to the train station that brings you to the city center. We walked for >20min to just get to the station. I noticed there is a park&ride system at the station though, so it may be possible to drive and park at the station (if you have a car).

The room is clean with very comfortable bed and a functioning bath room. The hotel is located in a quiet and beautiful small town which may not be convenient to reach by public transportation. Fortunately the hotel provides
free airport transfer efficiently. The drawback is the steps of the stair are too narrow. The staff is very helpful when asking for help to carry the luggage up or down the stair. Since it is a small town, the choice of dinning is limited.
Considering the hotel environment and the facility, particularly the very helpful staff, this hotel offers a very good value!

The shuttle service was great, though there's no phone between terminals you have to call the hotel direct. The room was small but functional and had a nice balcony. There were a few local restaurants an ice cream shop and a few supermarkets. All within a few minutes walk. Train took ten minutes to the centre and was about a 15min walk from hotel. Was nice to be outside the centre for the quietness at night. Would stay here again

According to hotels.com my reservation was \"guaranteed and payment will be collected when I arrive.\" When I did arrive the staff was out back drinking with a large group of young people. I was told that my room was given to someone else because I had not pre paid. I pointed out that the agreement stated that there was no pre-payment, but they said it was too late. The intoxicated manager offered to drive me ti a different town, to a room for twice what I was to pay for thier room.

I ended up spending hours looking for another room, with no luck and ended up sleeping in the street and airport bench before my flight the next day.

Hotels.com gave me a small (less then cost of an average two star room) credit that in no way makes up for the horrible experience I had.

AVOID- They scam me & removed my belongings

The reason that I chose this hotel is because they offered free airport transfers. When I arrived they collected me from the airport with no problem. When it was time to leave they said that they only do free airport transfers before 11 am?!? But they could take me to the airport for 25 euros!

This 'hotel' is just someone's house turned into a 'hotel' in the middle of a residential area. It is often left unmanned. On my final day I returned to the hotel to find that all of my belongings has be cleared from the room and shoved into a cupboard. Apparently check out was 2pm, but when I check in I was not told any check out details. I did not see the man who works there for two days (my room wasn't even cleaned) because he often goes out and leaves the hotel unmanned. Apparently it was my fault for going sight seeing instead of sitting in the hotel waiting for him to return.

If you want to visit Amsterdam this is not the hotel for you. It is NOT in Amsterdam.To get to Amsterdam it's a good 20 minute walk and a 10 minute train ride (6.50 Euros). The last train back on week days is about 12pm.

I would not recommend this hotel.

We stayed at Alex Rooms in January this year. It was an absolute pleasure. The staff were wonderful (including driving us to the airport on the last day of our stay, which was a lovely gesture for two tired backpackers!). The rooms are comfortable. As an added bonus, there is an amazing bakery across the road with wonderful staff there, too! :-)

Hotel rooms where new but building old, very clean and everything worked... manager did a good job explaining the train system to Amsterdam and driving us to the air port early in the morning on the second morning....there was a lot of noise one could hear through the walls as it is still a old house renovated, many stairs so anyone old could not get up the stairs, no elevator. All in all it was a ok stay, the little town had lots of shops and was located on the canal system so lots of boats etc to look at. 15 minute walk to the train station to Amsterdam....

A lot should be said about staying a 10 minute train ride from central station. Nice area. Food store,bank,bakery nearby in a nice residential neighborhood with two top notch little restaurants within 10 minute walk. Host was helpful and most amiable Will return!

This location is pretty far from the airport to be considered an airport location. The room itself was actually quite nice to look at and the bed was comfortable. What was odd is that while a lot of attention had clearly been given to the nice wall paper and large Samsung flat screen tv the obvious was ignored. For instance, THIS PLACE HAS NO AIR CONDITIONING! Amsterdam gets quite humid and uncomfortable in the summer months and the room was unbearable. Secondly, our room had a massive spa/hot tub in the bathroom. Huge! But it didn't work. Not a place we plan on staying again.

This was a beautiful room

The room was very nice. It was comfortable and the bed was super cozy. However, they couldn't run my credit card (even though hotels.com said that they accept discover), so we had to pay in cash. Also, the red blanket on the bed needed to be washed.

Lovely Relaxing Accommadations

The decor of the entire property was lovely and clean. The service of the staff was excellent. The hotel is near a grocery store that is in walking distance. The surrounding neighborhood was clean, quiet, and safe. The room was worth far more than what we paid for. It was like a second honey moon, that really set the mood for the second half of our 3 week European vacation. I loved this hotel and will definitely book to stay here again when visiting!!!!!

The room was so small that the bed that I had, blocked one half of the entrance to the bath room. There was very little room for putting clothes. I also requested a 7:00 A.M. wake up call, none came. The manager or maybe he was the owner said he forgot. The sink in the bath did not work either, the water would not drain.

I stayed at this hotel April 9, 2014. I would not stay here again and would not recommend it. Free shuttle.... is NOT !!!! I order shuttle service at 4:30 am and got ask to pay 25 euro for the service. Apparently free shuttle is from 5 am. Misleading.........do not advertise free shuttle when is NOT!

Not in Amsterdam - in Zwanenburg!

Located in the town of Zwanenburg between airport and Amsterdam.

Unfortunately, the airport shuttle only runs when the owner feels like it. Our flight was at 9pm and that was too late for him so we had to make our own arrangements at our own cost!

Advertised as accepting credit cards but had to pay via cash - awkward so not impressed! Additionally, knocked on our room door the evening before we left and asked if we had the cash for payment!

On the positive side the room was clean and there was free wi-fi.

Nice hotel with friendly staff

Had a layover in Amsterdam so I stayed here for somewhere to get some sleep. Used the shuttle service to get to & from the airport, the driver was very friendly & helpful. The room was comfortable & I liked the decor/layout of the room (# 2). Only thing I might mention is that it is in a residential area so it's not downtown.

Perfect!

We found this place to be perfect! The price is amazing, the rooms are beautifully decorated and extremely clean, and the location was perfect - a very quiet town close to a metro station that will get you to Amsterdam center in about 15 mins. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it. The guy (I forget his name) went out of his way to give us amazing service...and the free shuttle is a great add-on.

Economical compared to others

Hey, It was a pleasant stay for me at Alex Rooms. The room was quite small but it was economical for me to stay over night as i had a business meeting the next day. It was quiet & away from the city ciaos. So, good if you want a quiet place. Bathroom was Big & Clean. One can have meals too as there are few restaurants near by. I visited Sandwitch City where you can have your Breakfast.

Convenient and very pleasant

We were pleasantly surprised by the courtesy of the staff and the bright and modern room with a beautiful backyard. It is a nice little hotel in a quiet little town close to the train station and a couple of stops from Amsterdam. We were picked up from the airport free of charge and driven to the airport to pick up a rented car the next day. The internet was free and worked fine. The bed was very comfortable, and the shower was excellent.

Lovely Stay

The Alex Room was a lovely, comfortable place to stay. Even though the room I stayed in was very small it had all the necessary modern comforts. It was close to the train station( As an additional note ,if you plan on taking the train make sure that you have a maestro card/account or that your currency is in coins because the machine does not take paper money)and Sasha and his staff were more than willing to assist with any thing that was asked of them. Parking was plentiful on the back side of the lodging and I was also provided with a key to the facilities to allow me in after hours. The only down part to Alex Room is that they did not provide breakfast, even though there were local eateries near by; and that the walls in the room were kind of thin so you could hear outside noise.(Other than that 5 stars).

Absolutely loved this place!

It was just a perfect stay at Alex rooms. Great shuttle service-ringing the hotel directly we waited and were picked up by our lovely host. Upon arrival at the hotel we were given a tourist map of the city to look over and plan out where we'd like to visit. The hotel itself is lovely, we were given room 4 which was perfect for us, spacious, clean and very modern. It has everything we needed for our short stay and the terrace balcony was a lovely touch. The train station was a small ten minute walk away, passing many shops and restaurants on your way, it only costs 5euros for a return ticket to amsterdam centraal. We did this journey everyday for our entire visit and were pros by the end, it's also very easy to get to a train straight into schipol airport which we also did. We couldn't have asked for a better hotel- great room, lovely host, convenient location and a reasonable price- we'd recommend this hotel to anyone LOVED IT!

Wonderful hotel in quiet area outside of city

First stay upon coming to Europe, and this was a wonderful hotel! The staff was very helpful, we got picked up from the airport and was taken back to the hotel. The room was beautiful, clean and very comfortable. Would highly recommend this hotel. A little far from the main city but comfort of hotel makes up for it.

Probably one of the nicest and cheapest hotels I stayed in during my trip through Europe. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Close enough to train system that will take you into Amsterdam in just a few minutes. And they have an airport shuttle, very helpful!!

My experience was very positive. They are very accommodating in making sure the guests are comfortable. The room was very neat and clean. It did not have a telephone in the room, but they loaned me a cell phone so I could make a call. They have DVDs available, and the TV in the room is nice. The location was easy for the airport and they provide shuttle service. It is a quaint area that is worth visiting for a stay. I will go back again.

Very good value for the price.

We stayted One night on a long stop-over that gave us time to for a night out in Amsterdam. A lovely spot not too far out of town yet still close enough to the airport fpr convenience. It's a house converted to a hotel, a short walk to the local shops and buses.

If you're going into town catch the 179 bus and change at the train station to get to Centraal Station as the 80 Bus drops you a 20 minute walk away from the Dam Square and Centraal, and you may need directions to find your way there from the where the 80 bus drops you.

Otherwise the gentleman who runs the hotel was very kind and accommodating, he picked us up and dropped us at the airport, he gave us lots of info about the area and how to get around, and even offered us a free room upgrade and early check-in since we were so tired after our red-eye flight.

There is no restaurant or food facilities in the hotel beyond a mini-bar in your room and coffee and tea available from a machine so don't expect breakfast but there are shops, restaurants and eateries a 2 minute walk away down the street for the independant traveller.

Our room was warm and clean, quite spacious too with a big bathroom and large comfy bed. As a smoker I was allowed to smoke on the property, just not IN the rooms, which is no different to most other hotels. Overall we enjoyed our stay there greatly and would stay again if passing through Amsterdam another time.

Good alternative Schiphol stopover

Great airport service - called from terminal and car arrived to pick me up in about 15 minutes. Return trip to airport early next morning went without a hitch.Property is guest-house like, with pleasant, well equipped and well-maintained stylish rooms. Good internet connection. Situated in a residential area with restaurants and supermarkets within a five minute walk. Fast bus connection leaves every half hour to Amsterdam Sloterdijk station so easy access to from the city.
