Cleanliness is their forte

Three wonderful nights spent in the suburb, Badhoevedorp. I loved the vibe. The establishment was immaculate with tip top service. Whilst drinking at the bar the staff was manically cleaning and polishing. Since one is in a functioning neighborhood I sought out a bakery and cafe. Don’t sky away from taking the bus to city center. I returned to Botique Hotel Herbergh via train from Amsterdam Centraal to Schiphol followed by the Radisson hotel shuttle and a 3 minute walk. Easy-peasy.

Not a pleasant stay

The room was extremely small. We stayed in a triple room and the third bed was very uncomfortable. They apparently were doing work in the hallway ceiling. We were there for five days and it seemed like the work never got done. Our hairdryer caught on fire the first night. There was no easy access to transportation. The shuttle they talked about was two blocks down the road at the Ramada Inn that cost five euro each way. There was no variety to the breakfast. I would not stay here again.

It was clean, cozy and the service was friendly. I would caution people booking that the shuttle runs out of the Ramada (5 Euros), but it was a 1 minute walk. There was only body soap (or all purpose soap) in the shower, so I would recommend bringing your own shampoo.

Nice staff! Nice restaurant! We ate breakfast and dinner every day at the restaurant there. If I visit Amsterdam again, I will go there again. Negative was public transport. To go to Central, you can take the Ramada hotel shuttle to Schipol airport and then take the train. Uber did not seem much available in Amsterdam in general

If you need to stay near the airport in a quiet area, this hotel is just 10 minutes from the airport and a transit ride into Amsterdam centre.
We drove a few minute and jumped on Tram 2 for a 30 minute ride to the main station. Easy and interesting.
The hotel staff was super friendly and helpful. The hotel very clean and the breakfast buffet tasty.

The room is well-appointed and clean. By -4C outside the heater struggles a bit to keep the room warm. There was no dining in the hotel and no restaurant around, but the person at reception was kind enough to make me breakfast.

A few additional notes for Expedia: the hotel is NOT on the hotel shuttle lines, and is is NOT 1.73 miles away from Schiphol. I had to take a cab to the hotel to the tune of 24 euros. To return to the airport, you can order a shuttle from the nearby Ramada hotel and still pay 5 euros. That's almost 30 euros. Expedia please advertise properties as they are.

Room. Cleaned daily. Towels replaced even though we hung them up which in the US means you’re happy to use them again. Beds comfortable. Plenty of hot water. There was always someone at the desk to answer questions and they were very helpful. Breakfast was tasty.

King bed was two twins pushed together which is fine except the blankets were also twin and just met, when flat, in the middle. So if you lay in the middle, the blankets didn’t cover. They tucked in the side of the bed on which you get out since they didn’t tuck in the middle.
Standing in the tub to shower was a little tight so you had to angle the shower head and this splashed water on the floor since there is no shower curtain. Finally, the ad said full amenities, but there was no conditioner (and shampoo was the body wash).

Enjoyed the property.Very clean. Quiet. No problems. My concern was the front desk failed to let us know that the airport shuttle met at the Ramada Inn and not at the property. Thus we missed our scheduled shuttle and had to take a taxi from Ramada.
A new staff member was on duty when we checked in so staff needs to be sure to relay the departure spot for the shutte. Thanks

Great stay!

Had a lovely stay at hotel herbergh. I booked to stay for 2 nights after my flight home was cancelled. At the time I believed that my holiday was ruined. However, the staff and other guests at the hotel were so lovely and accommodating that the final 2 days of my trip were the best of the whole holiday. The room was also very clean and the bed was comfortable. Would definitely stay again!

We had a quick 1-night stay to catch a flight from AMS early the next day. The van/shuttle to and from the airport was very convenient. The hotel uses Ramada's airport shuttle service, so guests are dropped-off and picked up from the Ramada hotel, which is a 5min walk from Herbergh. The shuttle is free from the airport to the hotel, but costs 5 euros per person from the hotel to the airport (you must purchase a ticket at Ramada's front desk prior to getting on the van to go to the airport). Overall a pleasant stay without any problems.

We were only at this hotel one night and it met the needs. It was hot and a fan was provided in the room. The only negative was that the floor in the room could have been cleaner. There was hair in the bathroom and a piece of a wrapper next to the bed. The bedding and towels were clean and since it was a short stay we just cleaned up the mess ourselves.

We booked last minute because of a flight cancelation, on Expedia it says free shuttle, but know it is 5 euro per person. The shuttle drops you off about a block from this hotel in front of a Ramada - is rather have stayed at the Ramada. It’s an ok hotel, but very basic and outdated.

Disappointing stay

We were very disappointed with our stay.

We booked this hotel with the specific intention of using the free shuttle to move about to and from the hotel, however, we were later informed that this shuttle was not running at all. We were not provided an alternative transportation other than the recommendation of a bus route or a taxi. Considering the expectation of free transport it was quite disappointing to have to accumulate further unexpected expenses as we had to pay for ourselves. This is despite the reassurance during the booking of the shuttle service being free. No effort was made to coordinate with another hotel or another service (other than the taxi service, which was not free as the shuttle would have been).

The service at the front desk felt quite rushed and dismissive of this issue, only providing us with the information as mentioned above. There was also no service during the night when we needed to check out, with the designated key drop-off area being unreachable behind locked door.

Last issue was the room itself, which came with two out of five lights not functioning, with no main light in the room itself, making the room really terribly lit and gloomy. Where the lights did work they were insufficient.

Overall this stay was very disappointing and disheartening. Would not book again.

We had a car so we were looking for a place to stay relatively close to central Amsterdam that was reasonably priced and had laundry facilities. It was only about 20 minutes to drive downtown. We rented the apartment which was very spacious and clean. Area was very quiet.

Nice quiet stay near Schiphol

The hotel was convenient to Schiphol airport when we landed late at night. The had a pleasant restaurant and bar area where they let us sit and have a drink even though they were mostly closed. The room was clean and comfortable. We are a nice breakfast. Staff were friendly and helpful. There was free parking and I believe bus see close by.

Quaint little hotel in a real dutch neighborhood

A newly renovated property, minutes from airport, unlike most hotels in commercial districts, this one is located in a quaint residential neighborhood. It's conveniently attached to 2 restaurants and included breakfast. Walking around the streets of Badoevedorp, you get a real sense of how the locals live.

It was amazing! Though it was a bit far from the city centre but the transportation was convenient. They offer free shuttle service from airport to hotel and hotel to airport. From the airport, one can take bus to the city centre.
Pleased with their hospitality and care. We were supposed to check in at 2.00 but we reached earlier in the morning and they provided the room at 10.00!

A Charming Old Building. Very cute restaurant and bar area.
Very basic ammenities, as in bar soap only.

No elevator, stairs only. Just a one floor stair climb.

Airport shuttle is operated by a seperate hotel, and you have to walk 2 blocks to that hotel for transportation. Availability not guaranteed
I used Uber instead.

Overall Bad Experience

Our family of 4 stayed for 1 night. We ended up staying in a "Haunted old farm house whose convenience is below par" as opposed to a regular hotel. Details are below.

1. The supposedly free shuttle in Airport came one hour after arrival. The 16 seater small van got filled with in a few minutes with 8 people (and extra baggage). We could not get in. The rude waiter said we could wait for the next shuttle in another 30 minutes. When I called the Hotel the lady at the Receptio do nothing about it and we were welcome to take a taxi paying 25 Euros. We took the Public Transportation and arrived in the Hotel (26 Euros for 4 people). We had to walk for about 5 minutes to the Hotel from the Bus Stop and in rain.

2. We were given what is called a "Garden House" and we were shocked by the weirdness of it. The toilet was in the first floor and the Bathroom in the second, with steep a set of stairs that can tire you going back and forth. The Bathroom shower stall did not have curtains, so the water tended to splash all over the place. Same with the wash basin. To top it all the Hotel expects that we use a spout to make sure that the water is completely cleaned.

3. For the morning shuttle to the airport we managed to convince them to reserve 4 seats for us. The weird thing was that we had to walk about 4 minutes to go to the Ramada Inn Hotel with baggage to catch it, as the shuttle belongs to them and not to this hotel.

On the whole a bad experience.

The front desk concierge at Hotel Herbergh was very friendly and helpful, but that's about the only good thing we experienced. I'm not sure why Hotel Herbergh is catagorized as 3 stars, because it seems at best a 2 star. And I also don't know how they've achieved a very-good rating. We were disappointed and felt deceived by this rating. I booked this hotel because we needed three beds, since we were meeting our daughter in Amsterdam. The room description and picture said comfort triple room and the picture showed a spacious room with three single beds. The room we had was very tiny with two single beds pushed together and a cot crammed in beside them, and there was no room between the beds to even get into bed. There was no elevator, so we had to carry our heavy bags up a steep flight of stairs. There was no air-conditioning, which is miserable when Europe is having a heat-wave in the summer. There was a plastic rotating floor fan which made a noise like a small barking dog. There was no exhaust-fan in the small bathroom, so steam and odors went right into the crowded bedroom. The latch on the only window was broken, so we couldn't close and lock it when we were going out. From our window you could have stepped out onto a dirty flat roof where there was debris and trash, and there was no screen on the window (which I know is usual in Europe). The free hotel shuttle is actually at the Ramada Inn down the street (you have to pull your suitcases for a block)..

The hotel was perfect for our needs. We were on a driving holiday but I did not wish to drive in Amsterdam. Here we could park and use the complimentary shuttle service to the airport to take a train directly to Central Station (total journey time from hotel less than an hour). Two restaurants meant there was plenty of choice for dinner, and breakfast really set us up for busy days in the city. Nice atmosphere in this family-owned property. I was with 2 young boys and the family room was very comfortable.

This hotel was very hard to find as it is tucked in behind the attached restaurant. It was clean and comfortable. It had one of the best breakfasts I have had in Europe but we were rushed and could not enjoy it. The steps were very steep so a first-floor room is recommended. There was no soap or other amenities in the bathroom. When we requested something, we were given one very small soap.

2nd floor with no elevator nor offer of assistance from any staff with 2 80+ year olds plus luggage from a month long trip, ( it is an airport hotel so luggage should be expected) was not the easiest. Otherwise it is a clean hotel with 2 restaurants on premises that are quite good. The airport shuttle goes to the hotel across the street and down the road a bit, not directly to the hotel. A very nice small hotel

This was my fourth stay at Herbergh. I always enjoy this small hotel and its excellent restaurant. I also like being able to walk around town, or take the bus to Haarlem. The only inconvenience may be having to walk from and to nearby Ramada Inn for the airport shuttle, especially with heavy baggage or in bad weather. It would also help to have better information at the airport on which shuttle to take, and where to find it. Also, if stairs are a problem, request a first floor rom. There is no elevator.

No elevator to the rooms above. The double door entry with all the luggage was not fun nor hauling it up 20 steep stairs to the rooms. They were understaffed and couldn’t even replace the toilet paper when it ran out. Our friends shower head was broken. It really wasn’t great.

A very basic, bare bones room. We needed a triple room and this had 3 twin beds (one is a roll away cot). Very small room with the bare basics. No hand towels or wash clothes. No shampoo or lotion. No extra pillows. Toilet paper dispensed one sheet at a time. Portable fan, no airconditioning. Our room was on the second floor, accessed by steep stairs, no elevator. The airport shuttle, furnished by the Ramada, is frequently full and runs only every 30 minutes (Ramada is a block away). Ask the Herbergh desk to make a reservation if you need a specific time. With all the issues, it was an inexpensive stay for a night layover. There is a restaurant attached although we did not use it.

Nice room, easy access to Schipol or Centraal

The room is clean and basic. They share the shuttle bus to Schipol with the Ramada nearby, 5-10 min walk, the weather cooperated, so it worked out. Pretty easy to get to Centraal Station by train as well, and for this price a much better room than in the city, where they're much smaller and overpriced.

Great location for being able to take a shuttle to schiphol airport.
There is no elevator, in case someone would like to know.
The restaurants in the hotel are quite nice.
The shuttle service to the airport is every half hour.
Check in staff have been very accommodating and helpful.

2 bed apart, comfy & clean

A little tough in check-in but they did remedy the challenges quickly. The 2 bd flat had unique location/entrance but flat was very pretty, clean & comfortable. Restaurant staff, great about helping get room service. Location, close-ish to Schipol/AMS though not sure close to anything else, like shopping for the apt/restaurants. Amsterdam has great Metro system so may be pretty easy to city center that way.

Charming Hotel

Great place to stay near airport. Excellent service, friendly people, fifteen minutes from airport. Got the included breakfast. Lots of healthy choices. Food was so good we decided to eat there both nights. Best part - we arrived at 8 am after overnight flight from Chicago & they had a room for us!

Disappointing stay

The hotel offered limited amenities...noably good...with the possible exception of breakfast on Sundays. I was noted aware of this situation in advance. Other options were not readily available.

The hotel food menu was limited..
Heavy meals...too much food.

The staff demonstrated limited flexibility in providing assistance in various areas including forgetting my wake up call for which no apology was offered. Perhaps a small point but the hotel did not provide shampoo....reaked of cheap to me

Terrible customer service. Don't stay here.

We arrived at the airport and proceeded to find the Ramada Inn driver. Who was rude from the very beginning we told him we were staying at the Herbergh . He seemed bothered by us. He was advertising the Ramada inn. He yelled at my Husband and son and had them put their own bags in the back without any help. When we got to the Ramada inn he told us to walk to the Herbergh. I went into the lobby at the Ramada inn to file a complaint on the driver and the receptionist there told me that The HERBERGH does not pay for the transfer services and they were doing us a favor bringing us to the Ramada Inn. She said it was a favor they were doing for the HERBERGH but the HERBERGH did not pay to provide this service to there customers. The Driver yelled his name at me he said his name was GHOST. It was a very bad experience. My husband had a fever and we had to walk in the cold with all our luggage to the HERBERGH. There we were greeted by a very smug and rude receptionist. Who proceeded to tell me it was too late we already paid for the room so too bad.

Room was clean. Front desk staff was friendly. No elevator to second floor. A lot of traffic noise from cars on street. Shuttle is not to/from the hotel but from a nearby hotel. This could be fine for day-time arrival/departure and when the weather is good, but not great at night and bad weather. Room was quite small. No shampoo/conditioner.

It was really comfortable. Silent place. Very convinient. Near is supermarket with grocery store, inexpensive prices. And the cooleat part is car parking is Free...
