Not hot water for the day before I left and the morning I checked out. So I was unable to shower. Not ideal in the winter when it's 0 degrees out. Also no offer of compensation or good will gesture from the staff. Vague excuses and being told to email the bookings department. Also I've had no response to the messages I've sent regarding the matter.

Nice room, comfortable beds but we had to give the room a clean when we arrived because there was hair in the fridge, hand prints over the headboard and door frame and dust on the sides. Other than that, I enjoyed my stay.

Nice room clean and no issues with noise, room stayed cool even during a heatwave. good parking under the hotel (cost was as stated on the advert and is a daily rate). 5-10 minute walk to the tram on a nice lit walk. Trams were regular throughout the day and into the night. Great advice and good customer service from Mo.
Would absolutely stay again.

Great staff, nice and clean, comfortable and relaxing ambiance with easy access to the tram system.
Minor draw back was mattress topper kepts sliding off and bed kept sliding around everytime i went to sit on it.
Started infront of the TV ended up in the bathroom ( yes thats an exageration ).
Id definately stay here again.

Hotel Artemis Amsterdam – A Disappointing Stay

I stayed in a Superior Double Queen Size Room at Hotel Artemis Amsterdam, and unfortunately, the experience was far from what I expected. From the start, the issues piled up: the room key cards didn’t work properly, and I had to go back to the front desk multiple times just to gain access to my room.

Once inside, things didn’t improve. The mattress was uncomfortable, making it hard to get a good night’s sleep. Even more concerning, I encountered bed bugs, which is completely unacceptable at any level of accommodation. Additionally, the room had no utensils, which made even simple tasks inconvenient, and none of my requests were brought up despite calling the front desk several times.

The shower had almost no water pressure, making it difficult to wash properly, and the internet connection to the in-room media channels didn’t work at all. To top it off, there was no room service available during my stay, which was never made clear at the time of booking.

Overall, I would not recommend this hotel based on my experience. The basics of comfort, cleanliness, and service were simply not met.

The hotel is located away from the city center but within good connection by tram into the center. The hotel itself is nice, the staff are very friendly, the gym is terribly small and breakfast is ok (slightly disappointing). The only significant downside would be the surrounding water around the hotel is stagnant therefore causing lots of flies and mosquitos. A big inconvenience to us as we have allergies and need windows open for ventilation.

Elevator wasn't working for our entire stay. No USB outlets in rooms. Bathroom had a stain that looked like blood.
We ordered a cab to the airport and the staff sent it away and tried to make us take a considerably more expensive cab.

Room was good, however TV did not work with the Wi-Fi, so couldn’t watch Netflix etc and was restricted to Dutch speaking channels, but even then the reception was so bad it was unwatchable
The coffee machine also didn’t work, when I tried to call reception to report this discovered that the telephone didn’t work either. Also no milk supplied or tea bags. However luckily there is a Spar opposite the hotel where you can buy delicious coffee, tea and pastries.
Bed and pillows were comfy, bathroom was good.
A bit further out of Amsterdam than we anticipated but there is a tram nearby.

We rang up and confirmed we had missed the ferry so we booked a extra nights stay and confirmed me wouldn’t be checking in till a day later, when we got there they told us there was no rooms because we was meant to check in the day before and it was seen as a no show even tho I spoke to one of there colleagues and explained we’d be a day late and they told me it was completely fine and wouldn’t be a problem. They told me they had no room for me and my friend as a 20 year old girl in another country and that I would have to find another hotel for the night bit I could check in the day after I got my dad to speak to them he made it clear they needed to find me a room he kept sayin that they was fully booked untill my dad threatened to sue them and within 5 min all of a sudden they as if by chance had a cancellation apparently and found us a room and a voucher for free drinks in there bar!

There’s a supermarket directly across serving hot food, drinks, snacks etc so very convenient. However very close to the city centre. The tram/bus stop is only a 10 min walk away and takes you directly to the city centre. Will definitely be coming back.

The bed was sliding to part of form the middle that was the only downhill for this hotel. Bed sheets were extreamly clean. For breakfast there should be more verity for price vs quantity and quality. Front desk couldn’t figure out where is my booking for 15
Minutes because of wrong spelling the last name:)

I liked the location, it takes 10 minutes and takes the train to the centre, which takes about 20 minutes, but it's very quiet. But the blonde employee with curly hair treated me and my boyfriend super badly, as if we weren't guests. And on the last day we tried to stay one more day, and he made us leave room 11 and wait until 3 in the afternoon to come back. Since I already had 3 days in this hotel. Another staff tried to help, and we were going to continue, but as he saw, he intervened and did it. I found it a lack of respect, that if it was a guest who looked rich, that wouldn't exist

Quirky but Nice Hotel in Semi-Remote Location

We stayed in two different rooms at the Artemis, first a Deluxe King Room with 300+ square feet, and then a regular Queen room with 200+ square feet. We liked the Queen room much more, as it was more normal. The king room had a ridiculous and useless built in hallway, and the bathroom had two glass doors to enter and leave and was weird and not private. Also TV in king room is very precariously mounted over the bed and dangerous. The Queen room was normal, and had the exact same size bed, which was comfortable, clean and free of bugs. Our biggest complaint was the glass door to the bathroom, which lacked privacy and wouldn't stay shut (and problem was twice as bad in king size room!) Second complaint was there was one normal window, and one weirdly small window due to the building's architectural statement. We would have preferred two normal size windows. The location is about half way between downtown and the airport. You have to take tram or bus to go to town every day, it's a quick 20 minute trip and if you get off in the park and walk, then it's about ten minutes. The hotel is located in residential area, and you have to walk through housing projects to get to the #2 tram. It takes about ten minutes depending how you walk, and it took us a week to figure out the fastest route. There's also a bus stop closer by, about five minutes away, but no one at the front desk knows anything about the buses. (BTW, if you drive you're all set, but good luck parking downtown!) The staff

Lovely hotel the staff were lovely and friendly, they answered all questions and helped us find our way to where ever we wanted to go, only downside was the overly hot room with uncontrollable heating one of the staff told me how to sort it but it didn’t work so slept with the windows open, problem easily solved. Also they would need to watch the taxi firm they used I thought the taxi from the airport was expensive but the one from the hotel was €49 the one there was €36 which we expected to pay, but overall a fantastic place to stay and I would definitely stay again.

I always like to give nice hotels the benefit of the doubt. I have a three-strikes rule. If three stays in a row have issues - it comes off my list. After two previous problems - this time - the room safe wasn't working. Reported immediately on checkin on Sunday. Nothing could be done as no maintenance people on a Sunday. No offer of room move. Might feel like a trivial thing, but it's a business hotel and having to carry your laptop, passport etc around town in the evening is unsafe and inconvenient.
Three days later at checkout, safe still not working. Checkout clerk asked 'was everything ok with your stay'. When I said 'not really, I won't be back'. No further inquiry about the issue- simply said 'sorry to hear that'. Such a shame as it's otherwise an ok hotel, just getting a little tired and staff with poor morale.
