The hotel is located a few tram stops south of Amsterdam Zuid, which makes it convenient to travel into the city or to make a connection at a major train line. It's one building behind the main street so there were no issues with noise.

The staff were friendly and accommodating. The hotel is a bit dated, but you can tell the management trues their best with what they have.

The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, but there were just a few minor issues. The double bed really was just two singles put together, the mattress was a bit hard, and there was just a simple, single quilt cover.
A couple of power points at the desk were unstable, but still worked with a bit of effort.
The internet was flawless.

Breakfast had some decent offerings of fruit, cereal, meats, cheeses, juices, and coffee.
The lobby also contained a small bar and you could receive a free drink coupon if you opted out of the daily room cleaning.

For an affordable option south of city and away from crowds, this was a good option.

Very friendly and helpful manager. Our room was south facing and got quite warm. The air con was not able to cope with it. Immediately offered a room swap which we declined as it meant moving all our belongings on day 2. Instead a fan was put in our room for our comfort. Complimentary continental breakfast was good. Quite a good selection and very fresh pastries. Location 2 mins walk from a very regular tram service to the train stations and centre of town.

We had an excellent stay at the Holiday Inn. It was 3 minute walk from the tram, located in a quiet area and the staff was really helpful. Breakfast was excellent and they even accommodated kosher options for breakfast. Would highly recommend!

Great place for it’s price

Really cheap considering quality, this hotel used to be a no-go for me because of location but now the tram outside goes direct to Zuid and Centraal since I lasted visited so it’s great!! Clean bathroom and beds, kosher food options for breakfast and nice staff, have no complaints

A great weekend

Location surprising perfect for our needs as only a few steps away from a regular tram straight to Zuid. From there you can get anywhere. Or stay on and go straight into town. Room was nice. Shower temp went up and down which was a slight pain and the mattress had a slight roll into the centre but was acceptable, just. Wifi fantastic and continental breakfast more than ample. Not the cheapest but when Taylor Swift is in town, no where is.

Whilst the hotel is in a quiet neighborhood it is directly under the flight path for Schiphol airport. There is also a construction project opposite the hotel - but this appears quiet at weekends.
The rooms are allegedly air conditioned - but ours never worked, so we had the window open. (We did report this issue.). The rooms themselves are a reasonable size and come with tea and coffee making facilities. The bathroom has a sink, toilet and shower.
Breakfast is included - a simple buffet of tea, coffee, fruit juices, breakfast cereal, bread, cold meats and cheese; the hot selection limited to boiled eggs and hash browns.
Reception staff are helpful and can book excursions and store luggage before checking in and after checking out.
There is a parade of shops adjacent to the hotel and two supermarkets.
The tram stop Van Boshuizenstraat is a couple of minutes walk from the hotel and is served by the 25 (goes to Amsterdam Zuid/South) and the 5 (goes to Amsterdam Zuid and the museum quarter). It's one stop from Zuid to the airport. I'd recommend getting a travelcard from Centraal or Schiphol stations.
When arriving from Zuid you can exit the tram to the right and cross the road by the Albert Heijn supermarket - the hotel is located behind the supermarket.

We enjoyed our 3 night stay very much. The rooms are large enough, with ample room for luggage. The daily breakfast is very good. Proximity to the tram station and grocery stores are both very convenient options. Overall, a very pleasant stay and will definitely recommend.

My family had a pleasurable stay. First, it was one of the few hotels to offer a 3-bedroom room. The location between Schipol airport and the city center was very convenient for accessing, arriving, and leaving. There are plenty of grocery shops around the hotel. The staff was always prompt to help with any request. I want to personally thank Rachelle, Maks, Sergio, Sara and Alex for making our stay to adorable.

Every time I visit Amsterdam, I always like staying at this property for it location and the staff's attention to detail. They are always helpful and go iver and beyond to make tou feel qelcomed. Amsterdam Zuid is one stop from Schipol Airport and that is very convenient. The number 5 tram will take you straight to Leidseplein, which is home to many great pubs with outdoor seating and a cozy atmosphere. Hands down, this property has an A in my book!

Rooms clean and updated but TV channel selection poor.
Rooms small.

Common areas were dirty. Vacuuming should take place daily.

Bed Bugs alerts. We were attacked by lots of bedbugs at this hotel. We were sent to another room that was dirty and later found more bed bugs in. In the end left the hotel but only got refunded for the nights that we didn't stay. By principle alone they should have refunded it all.

Very helpful

We were caught up in the UK flight problems and had to find accommodation. Holiday Inn is a company we knew we could rely on. Easy to book. Staff were very accommodating to our unusual needs. No suitcase, no toiletries, no spare clothes, no plug adapter, no phone charger.

Lovely Hotel

Friendly staff, clean room and comfortable beds. Modern interior, looks new.
Only downside was breakfast. Continental but with limited choice but the food offered was fresh and tasty.
To get to Amsterdam Central, catch a tram which is located end of street from hotel to Zuid then catch a metro from Zuid to Amsterdam Central. Excellent fair prices.

Really good value with ample parking around. Add to that close proximity to a tram stop, very easy to get into central Amsterdam. Really good continental breakfast offered too, in a good hotel room.
If you want a quieter hotel then this is a good place to stay. Also close to a supermarket if needed.

It was far enough away from the centre of Amsterdam to make our trip less expensive, but the tram stop was very close and the transport service was excellent. The staff at the hotel were very pleasant and more than helpful. Would highly recommend.

It has all basic amenities for a 3 star hotel, and for the price you pay. Easy access to the tram, metro, and other transportation to reach central Amsterdam, and other attractions. Staff able to handle their regular duties, and eager to help.
Free breakfast can be tweaked to alternate choices for each day, rather than the same, understand maybe due to Covid19 restrictions?

The hotel is just a 10 minute ride from Schiphol Airport, its conveniently located near public transportation which was easy to use, some convenient shops and supermarkets, small restaurants, a large park, Amsterdam Bos, a botanical gardens, other small parks, Synagogues, and there appears to be parking in the area. The neighborhood is quiet, clean and well kept. The hotel staff were courteous, warm and helpful at every turn. THe breakfast was inviting and a great start to the day. The wifi worked well and when I had a problem the staff solved it immediately. The room has a TV that worked well, the water pressure was perfect, the beds clean and comfortable especially the pillows, Room service is later in the day which was inconvenient for us as we returned about 6PM to find the polite staff wanting to first clean the room. We asked for earlier service the next day. THere are no closets but shelves and hanging area , There is a coffee and tea area in your room , At the reception area there is room in a communal fridge and safe. A public computer (and I think printer) is near the entrance as well as a public TV, flavored water and seating areas. The hotel is tastefully decorated, an oasis of peace and quiet with great service. If you need ANYTHING you can ask

I cannot praise this hotel enough. I would first and formost like to state what an amazing hospitality I received from staff, particularly Sofia from reception, who made me feel at home. The room was impeccably clean and the breakfast was very satisfying. The location of the hotel was fantastic, being close to the tram station and a big supermarket. Another thing was that it was so quiet and peaceful. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Overall it was a good stay. The room is quite small but we really didn't need a lot of room so that was not a problem. The mattress, however needs to be replaced. It's very worn out.
The was outstanding. Very helpful and very courteous.
Note to US travelers. This is Europe, not America. Don't expect bacon and eggs and biscuits & gravy for breakfast.

My stay at Holiday Inn Express - South was adequate. The proximity to local public transportation and airport was excellent. While clean, rooms were disappointing. Walls are very thin which made it difficult to sleep even if neighbors weren’t talking that loudly. Bed mattress hard and uncomfortable. Amenities were lacking, particularly lack of iron and ironing board which was surprising given number of business travelers. Breakfast was decent — great coffee and good variety of breads, cereal, yogurt, cheese/meats, fruit salad.
