Unusual circumstances - several flights cancelled in Amsterdam - so some experiences hopefully isolated. No lotion in room. No face cloth. No remote control, and previous guest's socks still hanging on heater unit. Checkin took 1 1/2 hours, but there is nothing they could do about that. There was a 10-min blackout

The air conditioning didn’t cool the room at all. I told the front desk and they said they sent someone to look at it but it didn’t get any better. The bathroom was pretty beat up. And the toilet is so close to the wall that I couldn’t sit on it straight and I’m not a big guy.

The bar tender wasn’t very friendly but everyone else was great!

Not enough staff at the restaurant on race weekend. Half the restaurant was empty but they didn’t have a table for us because they didn’t have enough staff.

Hotel is good but no lock on shower room ! no shopping malls or restaurants closer to this place and when you order over the phone its a disaster which charge more and food is rubbish around here but bfast in hotel is 10/10 . water bottle is the biggest scam . The hotel can leave a resonable size of a bottle water rather leaving a very very small size of water which need to be improve

There are many things to like about this Novotel property. The best being the staff. They were incredibly helpful during the 750 anniversary of Amsterdam (which virtually shut down the interstate and public transport). They assured us a van that could get us to the airport. Every staff member was extremly kind and helpful. The other positives were the proximinty to public transport. We were able to get in and out of the city in 20 min and only 2 stops to the airport. Nice and safe area as well. The negatives of the property are the small sizes of the rooms, which may be standard now. I used to stay in Novotels as a child all over France and the rooms were much larger. As my son stated, the rooms feel like cabins on a cruise ship and the hallway looks the same. The rooms could use a refurbish as well. They are clean, but showing age. Overall, an enjoyable stay due to the staff. I also acknowledge that big cities have smaller rooms.

The hotel was huge and well situated for travel into Amsterdam city ! Across from a lovely park Amstel, The breakfast was just amazing too !lots to choose from .Unfortunately their was noise in corridors at night which meant disturbed sleep and a blocked shower on arrival meant the inconvenience of changing rooms . We suspect this room was not cleaned as the not draining shower would have been noted then . I would stay there again as location was fab easy walk to the metro station . Hopevully will adopt a quiet policy between 10.00pm-6.00am and do something about the banging doors .

Great location near the metro. Ideal for visiting Amsterdam. Clean room, bedding and towels. Hairdryer provided. Bring travel plugs. Shelf in wardrobe was broken though. I’d still recommend. Great for the price of a triple room. Very comfy mattress!

This is our third stay in a Novotel, our first in Amsterdam. We find this hotel chain very reliable.

The hotel itself is in a nice location, accessible by train as well as tram. The hotel was booked fully and they couldn't give us our room even 30 minutes earlier than check in time. But we got connecting rooms upon request.

Breakfast at all novotels we stayed, including this one, is awesome. If you are used to included breakfast in US hotels, you will be amazed at the range of options in a Novotel in Europe! It is not cheap and usually not included. But if you pay for breakfast when booking the room it is much cheaper than if you pay after check in. At this hotel kids under 16 are free, so we effectively had to pay for only 2 adults. Totally worth it, especially before a day of sightseeing!

Had a very bad experience since the start. Booked the hotel from 11-14 July but due to some personal reason had to travel on 12 and stay till 15 July so paid extra for a day more. Now my disappointment starts when I reached the hotel on 12th July around midnight which I informed them in advance. 1) hotel staff (guy) was mentioning about no show extra charge but when I tried to explain that I have already paid from 11-14 and one additional day 15th July too. I tired to explain to them that we don’t need the money back of the day we didn't stay as it was us who came late but I was not happy to pay more. But he just cut me off, spoke really rudely and told me to not to speak. Next day I requested the staff to provide us with the previous staff name but they refused 2) on Sunday morning we met one lady staff ( I think she was supervisor of housekeeping) who spoke English we requested her to leave some fresh towels as they didn’t leave any on the previous day and water. But to our disappointment they didn’t even clean the room let alone leaving extra towels or water. AC was not working properly. Overall very disappointing.

OK but a bit underwhelming for the price

A nice place for a short break in Amsterdam. The staff were friendly but possibly overstretched (forgetful). We had booked a travel cot and were assured it would be in our room, but it took a few phone calls after arrival to get it. We had no bath, which was a surprise, but the staff managed to arrange a baby bath. Shower was mouldy around the edges. Food was OK but overpriced. Room was very hot even with the AC on as per instructions. Would have been cooler just with the window open but the blinds blocked airflow so we had to just use the AC.

Overall the stay was very good. The location is perfect and convenient for easy commute to all attractions. However, the service lacked a bit as per Novotel standards. I asked for a hand soap which was finished in our second day out of 4 day stay and it was never refilled.

Check in took 45 minutes after I made it through the long line and started the check in process with the front desk. I booked the hotel because it was labeled as 4 stars and had air conditioning. When I returned to my room that evening after work, the AC was off. I called the front desk and was informed that they shut off the AC when it reaches a certain temperature outside. It was blazing hot in my room, so it doesn’t matter what the outside temperature is. The bed was also terribly uncomfortable. I didn’t sleep at all. I was also asked at the front desk if I wanted to add breakfast, which I did. Then I was told at the breakfast station that I hadn’t paid. They also wouldn’t let me charge my room, so I had to go back and get my credit card. When I returned to my room, I took a shower… during which a cleaning person entered my room despite the do not disturb sign. I’m supposed to stay again in a week, but wanted to cancel my reservation due to this experience. The front desk lady said that if I called Expedia, they would call the hotel and it would be canceled with no fees, even though I’d booked a non-refundable room. Expedia called, and they did lot honor this, but said they’d get back to me in 48 hours. Do not stay here.

Although located outside of the hussle, bustle and NOISE of being in the hwart of Amsterdam, this hotel was only a 12 minute tram ride to Centraal Station, a very convenient meeting point and the farthest point via tram. We thoroughly enjoyed the property and the buffet breakfast was amazingly well stocked and the coffee was amazing!

This was an amazing place to stay! Quick and easy four minute walk to the metro, direct and into town and the city center yet quiet and clean and in a lovely location. Staff was a bit slow on arrival, but it was a holiday weekend and I felt they were just a little understaffed, otherwise it was fantastic and I would definitely stay here again!
