What a find! From the moment we arrived our experience was nothing but exceptional. Maxim was gracious and so helpful with recommendations and tips, as were all the staff! Sam greeted us each morning with warmth and a smile as we started our day with a beautiful breakfast in our choice of elegant spaces. The room was tastefully appointed and very clean and comfortable--also roomy by European standards! It was a pleasure to return \"home\" each night and truly hard to leave. Highest recommendation if you want a beautiful, luxurious, and sophisticated home away from home in a lovely walkable neighborhood with many very good dining options nearby.

Everything about the hotel is delightful - the reception, the rooms, the staff. Spotlessly clean, very comfortable, excellent wifi and all those useful touches in the room - fridge, iron and board, tissues, sewing kit. The location is calm and peaceful with cafes, restaurants and shops around the corner as well as transport to the main centre very close if walking isn’t for you. Excellent value. Highly recommend.

The staff was excellent. They were multi-lingual and assisted us with making restaurant reservations, calling taxis, and giving advice and directions to various attractions.
The room was nice and clean, the breakfast room and bar were attractive and quiet. There is a courtyard patio as well. Oh, lots of hot water for showers.

The location was good. The street is fairly quiet but close to a tram stop, excellent shops and restaurants.
The stairs are steep but they have a lift which is useful when carrying luggage.

Everything about the hotel stands out - tasteful decor, rich carpeting and furniture, a most cozy room and a great bar and breakfast dining area. Nice neighborhood too. The abundance of images of Greek gods, notably Apollo himself, throughout the hotel, makes for an inquisitive review of Greek mythology.

We had the most amazing stay. The staff could not have been more helpful. It was great being in a more residential area with a choice of cafes and restaurants, and just 15 minutes from the airport or centre. The blackout curtains and the resultant sleep was much appreciated. Also, I have never stayed in a hotel where we've had the do not disturb sign on and they've left a bag of clean towels, toilet roll, and refreshment refills for us. So thoughtful. Even the free apples were extra yummy. We will be back

I travel extensively and can not say what an exceptional experience this hotel stay was. From correspondence prior to the trip, to superb breakfast that should not be missed, all aspects are top self. Due to our sleep schedule, we passed on house keeping several days and their personable staff still brought us fresh linens and coffee each day. Each shift at the front desk was personable and offered reliable assistance. My trip was superb, not just because Amsterdam is a wonderful city, but the kindness, warmth, and friendliness made it memorable.

Apollofirst went above and beyond to make our week-long stay in Amsterdam perfect! Their friendly and attentive staff made sure we were comfortable, even before our visit. I contacted them with requests about our room and questions about the area. They responded promptly and offered excellent information. We felt at home from the time we arrived. Sumptuous breakfasts served in a \"garden room\" was perfect to begin our days, enough so we often skipped lunch. We were grateful to be in a more quiet neighborhood with parks nearby. The location was still walkable to museums and shops, and extremely convenient to public transportation. Nearby restaurants offered varied and delicious dinners. I can't say enough about this lovely place! Thank you, Apollofirst! We will definitely be back!

They also fixed a squeaking door, and brought us towels and such without asking. The location is good if you want to go to the museum area, and easily walkable to trams and such nearby. Stayed here for my first visit to Amsterdam. The price seemed competitive compared to a lot of other Amsterdam hotels, especially compared to those downtown. The neighborhood is beautiful, nested in a more residential area. The location is very close to the museums but a little but further away from the North part of town. Highly recommend especially if you don't mind being a little further away from downtown.

We didn't know what to expect our first time in Amsterdam, but really loved our experience and The Apollofirst Boutique Hotel was the icing on the cake! Maxim and the entire staff are top notch, the hotel is small which I like, and the breakfast/coffee/service were great!! We were there during King's Day and they served complimentary drinks and cake. I hope we make it back to Amsterdam for a river cruise so we can soak up more of the city and renew our friendships with Apollofirst!!!

Lovely hotel with friendly staff. Bed very comfortable, but walls were thin so could hear other guests. Had breakfast on my last day. And by chance asked if they had gluten free bread. Two heated rolls were brought. Delicious. Also had gf muesli. Excellent breakfast.

Nice hotel in a great location in the “old south”area of Amsterdam (not a touristy area). Hotel staff all great and special kudos for the manager. Hotel is on a quiet street but only a five minute walk from coffee shops, bakeries, restaurants and the stop for the GVB tram line. On the tram you can get to Museumplein area in 10 minutes and Centraal station in 25 minutes. About a 15 minute walk to Vondelpark and there are nice restaurants and shops near Vondelpark too.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Apollofirst Boutique as a female solo traveller. The room upgrade upon checkin was a wonderful surprise, my room was stunning and spotless. We had a pleasant, comfortable stay at a lovely hotel in a quiet neighborhood. (Shops and good restaurants are just a short walk away and the Museum Quarter is short tram ride, or 15-20 min walk). Staff was excellent. Check in and out was efficient and friendly.

We discovered after arriving that the Amsterdam Marathon was taking place the day of our departure and the staff was very helpful in explaining the options to get to the central train station given the busy traffic conditions and arranged a taxi for us.

We would (will) stay here again.

A beautiful, traditional style hotel. Peaceful location but still a short walk to restaurants and cafes or a quick tram ride to the hustle and bustle of the centre or the museum district. The museum district is also easily walkable.
Rooms are compact clean and well appointed, staff are courteous and helpful. The larger double rooms are a lovely choice on the rear aspect of the hotel overlooking the courtyard.

Excellent hotel

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Apollofirst hotel. Our room was well furnished and decorated. The outdoor patio is beautiful and a great place to hang out. The staff members were friendly and helpful. The stairs were very steep and tricky, so we used the elevator.

Great location, Walking distance to nine streets (15 minutes), Rijksmuseum and restaurants. Area is clean and green. Very calm. It’s however outdated and the Greek decor is also not of my liking. Because of this outdated decor I think it is a bit overpriced. But service is 10/10 and the breakfast buffet is excellent.

Great location. Spacious standard room and nice bathroom. Only downside would be a few light bulbs were out and no snack bar an available after hours when most places closed. That said, I would stay here again if back in Amsterdam.

The reason I am not happy with the stay is that the ceiling started leaking in the last night of our stay and the staff did not provide an alternative room or partial refund. As a result we had to stay in that condition without the air conditioning to avoid excessive leakage. As of today we heard nothing from the management that they said they will contact us!
