The staff and our stay at De Bedstee was absolutely wonderful! Our check in and check out were both easy and smooth, room was spotless and bathrooms as well. If we are ever back in Amsterdam we will definitely be staying here again! We got breakfast at the hotel on one of the days and loved the selection and drank a delicious latte! We even met some of the local cats just around the block which made our stay even more magical. Thank you so much, we can't wait to come back!

These people are not good at all, they took my booking money 100euro, when i want to check in they ask for more 150 euro, they never mentioned that before, i had 100 euro in my wallet, they didn't accept and didn't let me check in, so i left and they didn't refund me. Very bad person and very ugly, i do not recommend even for pets sleeping. This kind of people should not be allowed to have a hotel, hospitality is under zero, they just takes your money.

It was my first time at a capsule hotel, and it was a great experience! The capsule itself was bigger than I thought (I could sit up and straighten my arm up fully), it had AC, and enough space for my things. The hotel itself was super clean, which I really appreciate. Would return!

Probably the cleanest, safest, most convenient, and friendliest (I really loved talking to the Moldovan and the Hungarian female receptionists! I hope that if they ever read this review, I hope that the 2 of you are doing great, and keep up the good work! I hope to see you again soon if I ever visit again!) and has the best amenities (Sparkly clean, beautiful bathroom music lol! Floral and antique decors, etc.!) among any hostel I’ve been to across 25 countries! This hostel was also in the city center which made it easy for me to walk back and forth to! The breakfast AYCE was also very delicious— especially the Dutch meatballs, honey cake, pancakes, etc.! I wish I could rate 6/5 stars if possible!

My pod was cleaned everyday. The only issue I had was they refilled my supplies with extra towels that I didn't need. Staff was very friendly. One of the staff members, their name was Patricia was really friendly. I found a friend in them. I would like to visit their hometown someday.

The bed was very comfortable and the temperature was very cool, conducive to sleeping. There are multiple lights and the ability to dim them. The bathrooms are separated by sex and have three showers and three toilets, very clean and brightly lit (hairdryers included!). You're provided with robes and towels. We stayed on a bottom unit and the head space was more than I thought it would be, it didn't feel super cramped. I would for sure stay here again! They also have a 24hr bar/restaurant for food and drinks.

I had an absolutely lovely stay at De Bedstee, the capsule I stayed in was clean and comfortable, and the AC was very welcome! The location is very good as you can take the trams from the Concertgebouw or Museumplein stops to get almost anywhere, and sitting in the Museumplein proper for a picnic at sunset is a lovely way to end a day.
The staff were bar-none some of the best hotel staff I have ever met, and along with being knowledgable and helpful, they were great to speak with and so very kind. I look forward to returning and staying there again. :)

The pod concept is good, and the pod itself was very comfortable. But climbing the ladder up and down to the pod was a little challenging, especially for someone older like me (late 40s). I think they could make it easier to get in and out of the upper pods. Also, the pod itself could use more storage—there was room for more shelves or hooks.

For a budget hotel, it was actually quite comfortable. I had to sleep with my luggage on the bed because there was no other space for it, but the bed itself was comfortable and the whole place was very clean. It’s a very only-what-you-need hotel but each of those needs are well taken care of. The front desk service was also great.

I slept in a bottom cupboard or pod. Others had steps and I'm glad mine didn't. Cozy and spacious double to myself. Bfast was ok and cheaper if you book the night before but no atmosphere in the dining room...bit of music wouldn't go a miss. Staff friendly and lounge area really homely. Great location close to tram stop and minutes walk from museums parks.

It was very quiet - guests were respectful and I didn’t hear anything from inside the pod (although they aren’t sound proof). Before staying I was concerned with privacy, but the toilets were individual rooms with doors, the showers as well, and both were pretty clean. The pod itself was fairly clean but a decorative pillow placed on the bed was evidently not cleaned regularly. It had hair on it. If you are backpacking and want to meet people, this is not the place. The common areas were not used very much, I didn’t meet anyone. Front desk staff were kind and knowledgeable

I would never sleep there again. You are sleeping in a box, like a coffin, and I had to crawl up on a small ladder to get into this Strange sleeping box. It’s not clear on the advitising that you are actually not going in to a hotel - But a Strange hostel sleeping under terrible circumstances. My box was on the Ground floor and I had to walk up the stairs to the first floor to have a shower and go to the restroom. And i even paid a ridicilous lot of money for it. Outrages.

Overall had a good experience however while we were away the room was cleaned, and our stuff was re-arranged when we came back which felt a bit invasive. Nothing was missing but we also didn't leave valuables behind because the room wasn't very secure in general (easy to break in). They did have cameras and staff around constantly so it didn't feel shady or anything. It would be nice to have the option to put a 'Do not Disturb' hanger on the door so that no one could go in during the day.

We did not realize exactly what we had booked. The capsules were fine If unexpected). It would be very helpful to have a place where guests as they come in could repack or go through bags as there was steady stream of this all night which got noisy. Breakfast was good, staff was helpful. Bathrooms and capsules were quite clean just very tight with the average person's bags. Girl woke up screaming at night and staff helped get her away from everyone else quickly and efficiently.

The service from all staff was great and the cleanliness of the room and bathrooms were excellent. The biggest issue is the bed, it dipped so badly in the middle that it impacted our sleep, so it will put us off returning in the future

My wife and I stayed one night and it worked great. On a quiet street close to the museum quarter. No issues, friendly, knowledgeable staff. Best if you don't bring a lot of luggage, not a lot of extra room in the capsule. Shampoo and body wash but no conditioner in the showers.

Unique sleeping arrangement, you sleep in a bed closet, like they have in Dutch farmhouses. You need a fair amount of physical flexibility. Bathrooms are communal like a hostel. Clean, neat, quiet, safe, friendly. Amazing location, right behind the Concertgebouw, one of the greatest concert halls in the world, and two world-class museums: the Van Gogh and the Rijksmuseum.

My first stay at a hostel, and the sleeping cupboards were a great start! I loved being able to lock my pod for the day and not have to wrestle with lockers. (Though it’s always smart to lock your luggage in the room). The bathrooms were very nice and always clean. The staff was so kind and helpful, and the location was amazing. It was steps to the museums and some really good dining. The tram was also super close, which was so convenient!
My ONLY complaint would be that while quiet hours were 10-10, which was great, they weren’t enforced on the top floor. So multiple times there were very loud and inconsiderate people through the night and early in the morning.
I’ll also be requesting a bottom cabinet next time. I’m far too old to be climbing in and out of bed in the middle of the night. Haha!

My partner and I's trip to Amsterdam started off really poorly and we essentially were left stranded after having a previous hotel cancel our reservation before arrival. Amazing location ! Just a few minutes walk to all the muesems and to center of town. Capusule is very cozy and has good air flow. You were able to open a vent to control the temperature of your capsule.Capsules are not sound proof and you can hear everything going on outside (but that did not bother us but if you are a light sleeper it might). Bathrooms are so clean and so are the showers ! Breakfast was good and had quite a few options. Our Capsules was on the top so we had to climb a latter to get into it. That was a bit hard when you had to carry all you stuff to the bathroom or go to the bathroom in the middle of the night . We stayed 5 days and I think that was perfect . Any longer might have been tough. Overall great stay and would stay again if i was ever in Amsterdam !

Zero tolerance policy for noisy people!
Out of 3 nights I stayed at this hotel 2 were excellent and one horrible. The difference will be always made by the level of culture of your neighbours next door. First 2 nights were quiet and great as the neighbouring guest were quiet after 10 PM. On the third night the guests next door decided to talk , giggle between 1 -2:30 am. Needless to say this ruined my night and resulted in insufficient sleep. This in turn affected my level of energy next day. I would recommend zero tolerance policy for noisy guests at this hotel. They should be kicked out in the middle of the night.

If you are after a capsule hotel it is fantastic! Very clean and staff very welcoming. Bathrooms were communal as you'd expect but extremely clean and spacious. Robes, towels, shampoo, shower gel and hairdryers all available, and beds were comfortable.

It was a unique experience in the capsules. It was very small and the older you are the more difficult and uncomfortable it will be. The actual capsule was comfy, but i could not sit up on the bed.
Staff were friendly, but check in is very slow because of the dated IT system.

The capsule idea is really very cozy and great if you are travelling light. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the hotel is very clean and welcoming.
The concept may not suit everyone but for travellers who don't mind a smaller space, it is wonderfully cozy.

The staff was very nice and helpful! The capsules are exactly like the pictures. You have a shared bathroom/shower area. They have a common storage area for suitcases, so you share with the others on your floor. The capsules were super cozy. It was a unique experience and only a 6 minute walk to the Van Gogh Museum. I will say it is a little bit of a walk to the city center, but public transportation it very easy to use and brings you right there.

Great experience. Hostel is in a great interesting area and if you rent bikes, it’s only about a 20 minute ride to central! Staff was very friendly and helpful, although the rooms were SMALL. We knew they’d be small, but they are very small. Kind of expensive for the size and not much else was offered unless you paid. Rooms are pretty, lights are awesome. Bathrooms are just okay. One shower was super smelly. Can hear what everyone does around you. Have storage room for luggage, but anything bigger than backpack is a pain to accommodate in your room. With this place, you’re definitely paying for location and experience. Right by Van Gogh Museum. We only stayed here to sleep. Would stay here again.

These guys cancelled my booking the morning of the stay and did not respond to any of my emails inquiring about my booking. I then booked an alternative place to stay assuming that I did not have a room-- finding a place to stay in Amsterdam at the very last minute is exceptionally difficult. When I asked about refunding my stay, they told me that I had paid and had a room ready. As it turns out, they charged my credit card an hour after check-in time. After a lengthy explanation to the man working the desk with reciepts and email correspondence, they told me that a refund was not possible because my payment had gone through. This level of ineptness is absolutely ridiculous, and their customer service is absolutely unacceptable; I would highly recommend you spend your money elsewhere.
