The room was on the smaller side, as expected for Amsterdam, but it was very clean, well organized, and had all the essentials needed for a comfortable stay. The location was the real standout. It was within easy walking distance of the city center, yet the street itself was quiet, which made it easy to unwind after a full day out. A great balance of convenience and calm, and a hotel I would happily stay at again.

Service was great, breakfast was a highlight too. The hotel rooms are decent and generally clean, but the hotel and rooms are rather pokey and tight. Bathrooms were recently renovated, but the room itself could have more maintenance and attention.
Location was convenient to trams, cafes and the city sights.

The room was tiny. The bathroom smelled funky.The diverter in the shower did not work. The soap dispenser in the shower did not pump. Our room was in a corner that was used to stage most of the housekeeping laundry, recycling, brooms, felt like we were in a broom closet. The staff was very nice. The location was great. The breakfast looked amazing, but we did not partake.

It is in a very walkable location to many attractions and is off a busy street which makes it quiet.
Room amenities were adequate, but we did not get coffee refills on our second day.

This hotel was just outside of the CBD and a more quiet than other hotels inside the area. It was more boutique style than other local hotels. Nice back patio area and delicious breakfast, worth the extra cost. Steps away for transportation and beautiful park.

Internet access excellent.
I think a cup coffee and tea should be free of charge in the dining room, if you font choose a breakfast option. In the room there is no milk and cream so it would be nice.

From start to finish, the experience was truly exceptional. The hotel itself is beautifully maintained, with modern amenities, clean and comfortable rooms, and a welcoming atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease.

What really made the difference, though, was the outstanding staff. I want to especially recognize Artem at the reception, whose professionalism and warmth stood out from the moment we arrived. He was incredibly helpful, patient, and always ready with a smile. He made us feel genuinely welcome and took the time to make sure every aspect of our stay ran smoothly.

Equally impressive was Alejandro, the head of the restaurant, who went above and beyond to create a memorable dining experience. His attention to detail, friendly demeanor, and genuine passion for hospitality were evident in every interaction. Whether it was breakfast or dinner, Alejandro ensured everything was perfectly organized, and he treated every guest with personalized care.

Together, Artem and Alejandro elevated our stay to something truly special. I highly recommend the Catalonia Hotel for anyone looking for a relaxing and well-managed place to stay—with service that truly shines thanks to people like them.

We were quite disappointed with our stay, as the hotel room did not live up to expectations. The room felt very tired and worn, and it seemed like the photos online were taken quite some time ago. Cleanliness also left something to be desired. Overall, it felt more like a 3-star experience rather than the 4-star standard it claims. That said, the area is fantastic—great location with lots to see and do nearby.

When you do the shower all the water come out the washroom was all wet.

I did extensive research on finding a hotel that would suit my needs in Amsterdam. I decided that Catalonia Vondel would fit the bill. I landed around 9:30am and took the airport bus to the hotel. Uber is expensive in Amsterdam and the bus drops you off really close to the hotel. I arrived around 10:30am and was informed that the room wasn’t ready yet because it had to be cleaned. No problem. We left our bags at the front desk and went out to kill some time. When we came back to the hotel, the room was ready. We went upstairs and the first thing that I noticed was the dusty mini fridge. This bothered me because if my room wasn’t ready due to cleaning, it should be clean when I arrive. The mini fridge is black, so it is obvious when there’s dust and the cleaning person just ignored it. Dust also accumulates after not being cleaned for awhile. So, that dust had been sitting there from previous guests. This grossed me out a bit because I started wondering how clean everything else was. Besides this incident, the hotel was great for our needs. The room was small but we knew that it would be. The hotel itself is quiet and located in a quiet neighborhood. When people are walking through the hallways, you can hear them. But the hotel isn’t full of rowdy of party people. We walked everywhere from the hotel. The street car and bus are nearby if you aren’t into walking. It was a good choice. I think for what I paid, it was a great value. Just need to improve on the cleaning.

I slept very well, as I always do at this hotel. It's quietly tucked away from the centre of the city.
It would be nice that when coming down for breakfast at 9.50 that there is still breakfast, as both mornings before 10am it had run out. Paying full price to scrape around for it is not good, especially as breakfast finishes at 10.30am.

Good-sized room, with desk, tv, good air-conditioning, and a little fridge.

Great hotel near the major museums, Vondel park, lots of food options and easy access to the trams and busses. Very walkable, extremely pleasant and helpful staff, quiet (they were doing some renovations in a room close to us but you'd only be bothered if you stayed in your room during the middle of the day – and if you're doing that, Amsterdam isn't the right destination for you), and clean. Stay highlight – they stored our bags for the day when we checked out early.

The property is outdated, with some facilities not working well (i.e., elevators), and staff was not well informed of the reservations. For instance, even if we have reserved and paid for two rooms through Expedia, the check-in person gave us only one room

Room was larger than some of the other similar hotels in the area. There are a few steps between the front desk and some of the rooms, and it's a little confusing at first. Front desk and restaurant/bar staff were very friendly and helpful. The one issue that we had is that the restaurant has low quality food. Of the very limited options, we chose a pizza, and it arrived cold/still partially frozen. We brought it back, and the server later said he used the wrong oven temperature. So, yeah, go out to a different restaurant if you want good food.

We had an amazing stay at the Catalonia Vondel Amsterdam. The staff is friendly, accommodating, and super helpful. The location is prime, in walking distance to most of the museums, plenty of restaurants and bars, the Leidseplein square, and of course Vondel Park, as well as tram and bus stops. A five minute walk to the airport express bus stop for quick and easy transportation to and from Schiphol airport. Though not all the rooms are as spacious as the triple we had for the majority of our stay, they make the most out of the space they've got. We would definitely stay there again.
