The room was not clean upon entry, our feet and socks turned black as though the floors had not been cleaned. There was also hair in the shower drain. The safe was not working the whole trip. Also our luggage got delayed and we mentioned it to the front desk upon arrival and checked up on if it had been delivered every morning and afternoon. By the 3rd day the receptionist acted as though we had not talked to anyone even though we had talked to someone at reception about it every single day, multiple times a day. Overall it is in a great location with great restaurants and close to the light rail, but otherwise would not recommend this hotel.

Genuinely really liked this hotel, the staff was amazing, greeted us every single time we walked into the hotel and made a conversation with us, gave us recommendations as well. The only downside to this hotel is that there are no washcloths, and the floors were super super dirty to the point where my brand new white socks are no longer white doesn’t matter how many times I wash them.

Great service, tiny room

The hotel was clean, and the staff were very friendly. However, our room was so small we could barely even fit our suitcases anywhere. I recommend purchasing a king size room from this hotel as the queen was far, far too small for comfort. As in, the fridge was located inside one of the nightstands and we did not find it until a couple days in because it was so unexpected! Other rooms looked larger when we walked by. The door lock also appeared to be loose and you had to rattle the door at times to get it open or to close it. Otherwise, the location was amazing and the hotel had free umbrellas. Emphasis on service being great too. Not sure if it was worth the tiny room we felt crammed into though.

The hotel is in a good area, you can walk to everything from 10 to 40 min to all attractions, in a safety area. We had the penthouse but wasn't that clean the toilet and shower. The blinds full of dust. Big bed, veey comfy to sleep and bedding all clean. Amazing view from the top. Breakfast decent, very good, a bit of everything if you arrive before 9 am, after that you need to wait to bring more. Overall its ok.

Though the staff was kind, this hotel in no way approximates four star accommodations. The website is slick and the photos are beautiful, but the reality is that the four story building combines multiple “hotels,” apartments, and office space. The breakfast area is fine, and the bathrooms alright (except our shower did not drain properly), but the rest of the facility is tired, worn down, and in some places truly not clean or in good repair. I wish we could get a refund!

Small rooms and very average cleanliness - many details overlooked, like washing the baseboards, cleaning the hot water kettle, and no ridge between shower & rest of the bathroom, so the whole bathroom gets wet. Otherwise the location and service are great, just a reminder you get what you pay for.

The staff was really the most amazing part of this hotel. We had some travel problems arise and they were so helpful!
Also the room was large which allowed us to spread out. The bathroom was small and the lighting was poor. We were on the ground floor with a park outside the window so we didn’t want to open the curtains much.
The room was not the room in the picture when we made the reservation… no balcony, no great view, not as new looking but we loved the location and the staff and had an enjoyable stay.

This was a highly rated hotel, but it was a lackluster experience. The walls were super thin and you could hear the neighbors on both sides, the room itself was dirty with cobwebs and dirt. Was expecting more based on the price and photos.

Thankfully the location was in a great area with restaurants, transportation, and ease of walking places.

Overall not an awful place, but I would ease on the side of caution if you are looking at this place for a stay.

The area outside, as with most of the city area was a bit dirty. It was convenient to Vondel Park and some of the attractions so we were happy to be in the area despite the street cleanliness.

Small, tiny room with holes in the wall. Safe didn’t work even though reception tried resetting it. My room Was on the ground floor-literally a courtyard walk from reception area where workers were working right outside the window. There’s nothing Grand about the room I was in. It’s like an old maid’s or servant’s room. You can’t open the curtains cause anyone/everyone walking by can see directly into your room and the courtyard entrance to the Hotel’s right there next to the street. It’s also the first room when entering the ground floor hallway. I requested a higher floor with air conditioning (did get that). Receptionist were very nice and helpful but I would have liked to have known about that room choice in advance. You can’t tell from the pics or information. Toilet button was broken so just double flush worked.

The hotel has probably seen better days, as it's a little tired and pricey (Amsterdam is not cheap for accommodation) but it was a good location, just outside the centre and walkable. There are regular trams a few minutes away. We stayed in the large penthouse and it was good for what we required, with a large too floor patio overlooking towards the centre. Staff are great and helpful. Even though it's a bit tired, I'd still recommend staying.

Very stressful parking and check-in situation. Even though we found the parking complex associated with the hotel, they would not give us the code to park first. We almost got in multiple accidents having to back out and illegally park while we had to get the parking information in person. We then had to go back to check in. I stayed at the hotel 5 years ago, it is near to the centre but far enough out so that it isnt noisey at night.
The staff were polite and the room was clean, if not a little dated.
The only issue was, on arrival the reception staff advised the bill had not been paid. I had to show my credit card statement, and all expedia emails and confirmations. Once they had seen these I was checked in.
I would advise to have all booking and payment receipts and emails to hand if booking through Expedia.

It’s listed as 4 star. But it’s like a 3 start airport hotel. Very dated and old inside. I had the best room, one of the top floor ones. But getting is is a hassle and it’s not great. Bathroom is very old.

Make sure you pre-pay for your room. I was double charged for my room. Once at check-in and once at check-out. Either the staff is not aware of payment procedures or the hotel has a fraud operation in their payment system that they are not aware of. They will not help you resolve the payment issue, so save yourself a headache and prepay.
