Nice location and view.

The bathroom was not great:
- Bring your own shampoo, shower get, etc. What they have was super watered down
- There was sewer smell, typical for Amesterdam old properties by the canals.

Bring a chromecast if you want to watch your own shows. The TV can be hooked up via HDMI

Go for it if all you need is a place to stay with great location.

We had room 303 this was a large room the heating was very good and we had a need for air-conditioning to be used. This unfortunately caused it to leak and we had a puddle of water in bedroom under unit..we contacted reception and as it was between xmas and new year we were given bath mats to soak up water and advised to turn unit off and open window..we stayed from 28th dec to 5th jan ..this issue was not resolved..unfortunately this was the least of our problems ..we purchased a tsa padlock at airport for the return trip.. but having read previous reviews used it on our suitcase which contained passports and cash ..we spent the next day out.. we returned to find this had been tampered with and luckly the padlock held up although we have to get it cut off as it was broken ..therefore we carried all valuables wirh us for the week..have stayed in Amsterdam many times never had this problem before..we would therefore give this hotel a very poor rating. We would appreciate a response from expedia regarding this

Perfect for a couples trip to Amsterdam

Really enjoyed our stay. Room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Good internet access & tv channels. Slightly out of the city centre but excellent transport links via tram & bus just 5 minutes walk away. Can get bus to/from airport with stop just 5 minutes away too.

Lots of good restaurants & bars nearby. Close to museum quarter too - 10 minutes walk.

Hotel is small - 15 rooms. No food options or communal spaces and reception only staffed 09:00-19:00. But staff are very helpful & friendly and there is air-conditioning which was important for our stay in July. The building is an old canal house so don't be put off by small hallways and entrance.

Missing basics

The positives are the location - walkable but not in the center of the chaos. However, basic amenities were missing. I specifically booked hotels for the trip that had A/C. Here, it was a floor unit that required the window to be open to operate, which obviously does not work. Our showerhead was broken and would not work unless held in your hand. We informed the front desk immediately, but it was never fixed and made showering quite difficult. I spilled a little bit of powdered make-up in the bathroom, and it was swept into a corner and remained there the whole stay, making the cleaning questionable. I wouldn't stay there again.

We had a great stay for the most part, other than the tiny bathroom, our main issue was the fact that the AC wasn't working. And sleeping with the windows open didn't really help, plus all the outside noise was let in, and they like to party in Amsterdam. Front desk guy was amazing though, and the sandwich shop and Italian restaurant across the street were delicious.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! This hotel ruined my girlfriend's birthday trip to Amsterdam. We didnt sleep at all due to being able to hear everything that was happening in neighbours rooms. People walking upstairs made so much noise. The road was also very noisy.... and for the state of the room - absolutely terrible. Dirty. Blood stain on the pillow and the bathroom ceiling was falling apart... tried to be reasonable but the manager offered no sympathy whatsoever and i had to chase for weeks to get a response. TERRIBLE do not use them!!!!

Overall excellent experience. Staff were friendly, informative and helpful. Room was aptly described and sized. Small, but has everything you need (mini fridge, AC and heating, private bathroom, drawers for clothes, kettle). The staff were also nice enough to let me check out 1.5 hours late! Really appreciated that. The only reason that I didn’t give 5 full stars is that for the entirety of my 5 night stay, the bathroom had a natural and constant odor of sewage. If I took a shower that would temporarily get rid of the smell, but it always came back a little later in the day. I still recommend this hotel to others and I would book here again! Thank you for a good stay in the city!

My husband and I came here on our honeymoon and the staff went above and beyond. Very easy to get to shopping district and the GVB tram (72hr pass is worth it). The sandwich shop nearby is AMAZING. My recommendation is splurging on a larger room, as the small canal view room is better suited for one person. All and all, great hotel, but just expect friendly staff and a place to sleep.

the bed was good to sleep in. the room was small but I expectd that. the towels were good but the bathrrom and the room had a lot of mould. the shower curtain was filthy. i guess cleanlinessnis jot a priority. I understand there is humidity but there are ways to clean better. really felt i could jot touch shower or walls or windows. Location is amazing. It is close to 3 different Tram stops that will connect you everywhere in the city. The sorrounding area is quiet with few dining options and there is a nearby grocery store. Leidesplein is only 5 minutes walk. There are few steps going into the property and the entrance is a little tight, might be a struggle with larger luggages. But there is an elevator 👍

The room is big and clean with partial view of the canal. The bathroom is clean as well it's just there was a smell coming from the drains, not too strong but you will definitely notice it. The TV in our room did not work for our entire stay. The staff tried to fix it but they needed some parts that wont be available until after few days. They offered to change our room but it will be a smaller one and we opted to just stay in our current room.

The staff is very friendly, warm and welcoming.

Firstly this is not a hotel if you are looking to spend lots of time in your room and get some room service. There is not room service available and the rooms are cramped.

If you are just looking for a comfortable bed and a nice warm shower to unwind after a day of exploring the city, this fits the bill perfect.

Location is hard to beat right in the canal and about a 10 minute walk from the rijksmuseum and Van Gogh museum. Also easy access to multiple tram stations to get around other parts of the city.

Staff are great in providing any support needed and do their best to make your stay comfortable.

Would definitely recommend.

Amazing Stay! Great Location!

We spent a night here and we loved it. First, the room was huge and had a balcony with a view of the canal. Nice large king size bed, Fantastic shower with waterfall head and eco friendly soaps. The host is amazing and very friendly. The next best part of the hotel is the location, it's in a quite area but so close to train and bus stations that you can get anywhere in the city within 10-15 minutes on the tram. There are a few local restaurants and bars on the same street as the hotel or you can take less than a 5 minute walk and you have tons of options and a very lively area with people around late into the night. The hotel had a cozy vibe, free mini bar and was a great example of a canal house. I really have no complaints about our stay, everything was perfect and we will stay here again when in Amsterdam.

Conveniently located hotel which is great for getting around, most of the tourist highlights are close by (museums etc). There are steps up into the front desk area, bear this in mind if you have heavy luggage. There is a lift to get to the rooms on the upper floors.

My room was very small, as was the bathroom. For a single traveler this was fine. The bed was extremely soft, not my personal preference, and just a thin piece of foam for a mattress. There is almost no insulation on the window and this allows street noise in at night. If you are a light sleeper this may be bothersome. My room was equipped with a coffee machine and fridge which was great. The hotel supplies water, coffee pods and a few sodas. A nice perk.

If you are looking for a no frills hotel to rest your head then this is a good choice.

I leave hotel reviews at every hotel I visit, without fail. I stayed at this hotel in room 403.

The hotel location is decent, extremely polite and helpful staff. However, the room that I was in had not changed the bedsheets for awhile. I didn't realise this until I got into bed at 11:30 pm, which is when the staff had left around 9-10 pm, and there was flemh on the bedsheets. I had no choice but to go to sleep on the other side of the bed. The bed is very soft, and it does lean down if you are sleeping towards the side. However, the main issue was that I woke up feeling very itchy. I realised when I looked at my body that I had read marks; in fact, they were bedbug bites. I have tried to upload all the photos to this review, however this website won’t allow me to show the photos of my body and all the bed bug bits I occurred or the state of the bed sheets. I personally don’t feel the bed sheets were changed for a good while

When I checked out, I did kindly let the staff know about my experience, they did not offer any kind of refund, reimbursement, or discount.

We stayed one night at this hotel. Parking was very convenient, although slightly pricy, but we were able to park directly across the street so the convenience was something we were happy to pay for since we had an early morning flight. The hotel is located in a great area with many tourism sites and restaurants within walking distance.

The check-in area is small but the receptionist is very friendly and helpful. We had a balcony room which was large and well-appointed. The bed was extremely comfortable! One star off because our TV did not work (and we found out a bit too late to report it to the receptionist since they had left for the night). But nevertheless a great hotel in a great location - would not hesitate to stay again.

Exterior of property does not look good. Graffiti on walls and the balcony view of the canal consisted mostly of trash cans overflowing with garbage. But I could see the canal… Broken toilet in bathroom, stains on carpeting and scratches requiring touchup paint, and baseboards look dirty. Cigarette burn hole and water stains on upholstery. On the positive side, the hotel manager was very nice and apologetic about the bathroom issue. Good location, but look elsewhere. There are better properties near the museums.

For $273 per night I expected more. Check in was quick and easy and the gentleman was friendly. They say their Reception is open 24 hours a day but we only saw him one other time and one lady another and besides that there seemed to be no one at the desk. The room was a decent size, the first round of the mini bar complimentary, no hair conditioner and although the hair dryer attached to the wall did not work they provide a larger, newer model that worked very well. There were no wash cloths and the shower head was badly calcified which made the water come out in all kinds of angles plus the shower doors never completely shut so we had to wipe the floor after. The towel rails did not heat up and appeared broken with chipped parts and rust. Decent location, Amsterdam is very walkable and this seemed like a more quiet area. We appreciated the smart TV and air conditioning but the coffee machine in a dark standing, wobbly cabinet was very strange. Not the worst place for sure but definitely NOT worth that price.

Hotel needs a refurb and noise insulation.

The overall stay was okay but the hotel really could use a refurb. Stains on carpets, walls need a paint refresh, the bathrooms could use a refurb. The bed had 4 mattress layers including a mattress topper which was deformed in the middle from too much use so bed was uncomfortable.

The walls are super thin so you can hear every conversation happening from the neighbouring rooms which when you’re jet lagged and trying to sleep is not ideal.

Overall, I probably wouldn’t stay here again.

No. 377 was a nice stay

We recently stayed at N. 377 House in Amsterdam and were thoroughly impressed with our experience. The highlight was undoubtedly the stunning view from our window—a picturesque scene that made every morning special. The property was immaculate, and the check-in process was seamless, adding to the overall ease of our stay. However, the room's compact size presented some challenges; for instance, accessing the other side of the bed required a bit of a climb over, which was less than ideal. Additionally, we found the city tax charge for booking two rooms rather than one (due to space constraints for our family of three) to be a bit steep, especially since we made a single reservation. It would have been appreciated if the hotel had considered waiving the additional tax for the second room. Despite these issues, the positives outweighed the negatives, making for a memorable visit.

This place deserves a 6, not an 8.6. Hallway carpet was really old and smelly on all floors. Floor in room was old looking and seemed dirty. Small entry to hotel with stairs and no lobby to speak of. Sewer smell in the bathroom. Bed was a futon on a soft box spring - not normal. I had a small room that should have been a single but they stuffed a double in it sideways and I had to crawl over my wife to get in and out. Every time. This is not a hotel, it’s a guesthouse and needs updating very badly.

Absolutely Horrible & Disappointing Hotel Stay

This hotel was advertised to be non-smoking, yet the hallway outside Rm 002/003 have cigarette and/or cannabis smell almost at all times. Hotel staff was aware someone smoking/cannabis in their room but lack enforcement causing the stench to be there in the main aisle/hallway outside my room doors since Rm 002/003 are literally on the main entry way. That is not what we expect from a non-smoking hotel facility and unacceptable esp. traveling with kids. Stay away from this hotel if you want a nonsmoking facility

Throughout my stay, I have Do not Disturb (DND) sign on and I make sure that light is illuminated as confirmed by Astrid @front desk. Sometime in 12/29 afternoon, while we were sway, hotel housekeeping ignored those signs and entered both rooms. Upon pressing, Astrid confirmed the housekeeping entered the rooms that has DND sign on and she has to ask the housekeeping to get out of the rooms. It is very suspicious as the housekeeper were making rooms that morning. It certainly looks like the housekeeping is looking for a time the rooms are not occupied to enter. If you care about your privacy & safety of your belongings, there should be much better choice around.

Rm 002/003 was basically on the ground fl. and it is so noisy and you can hear all the noise from the hallway, reception, the street. It is impossible to sleep throughout our 2 nights stay. Rm 003, door won't even lock @checkin.

Think twice and hard before you book.

The hotel is in a great location, walking distance of most sites in Amsterdam at the same time as being quite and peaceful. The view of the canal from our room was beautiful. At first glance, the room seemed clean, although the appearance of the lobby and hallways suggested the opposite. Unfortunately there is a serious mold problem in this hotel. The wall closest to the window was wet and growing large patches of fuzzy mold. Behind the bathroom mirror was black with mold. The bathroom ceiling was dripping. When we raised these issues, we were told they would clean the moldy wall next to our bed. We asked for this not to be done during our stay because we didn't want the spores to be spread all over the room. When we returned to the hotel that evening, the mold had been \"cleaned\", with no sign of bleach or cleaning products. My guess is they just brushed it off to remove visible traces, spreading mold spores all over the room. They assured us they covered the bed while they did this, but that's not much imo. I am writing this detailed review because I'm not confident that the hotel will undertake the significant work needed to treat the mold and prevent it from coming back, and it could affect guests health.

Horrible hotel- dirty and disgusting

This hotel is NOT as advertised. The exterior of the building is covered in graffiti and cigarette butts. The “lobby” is a small dirty desk in a narrow dark hallway. The desk clerk is a resident of the building and is poorly dressed and is not able to assist with any questions. The rooms are dirty and do not meet up with the amenities described in the reservation. We called Hotels dot com about a refund because we wanted to move to a better hotel, but we received no assistance from either the hotel or the Hotels dot com customer service department. Horrible place- keep looking!

My room was two feet from the reception desk. It was hard to sleep with people coming in and out. I had booked a room with a king bed to get a good night of sleep, but it was for nothing. The mini fridge was not working properly. The shower head was also leaky.

Great value

This hotel was an excellent find. It is close to the Rijksmuseum and Vondelpark, and several good dining options are available nearby. Be prepared to be surprised by the steep front stairs, the small front door, the tiny front desk, and the narrow hallways, but they are all part of the hotel's old style charm. What matters most is that the rooms are well-sized and clean, the service attentive, the price fair, and the bed comfortable.

Very good little hotel. We really enjoyed our stay. Location wise was absolutely perfect, to/from aiport really easy. City is literally 5 minute walk. Every is walkable if you can do it, if not transport is all very near.
