The valet parking attendant. He was spectacular. Helped us unload and load the car, good conversation, recommended restaurants and areas to walk our dog. He stood out among a great staff.

We were given a room immediately after 2:00 pm without having to wait. When the heating in the first room was not working, the staff promptly moved us to an upgraded room on a higher floor with more space, which we appreciated.

The coffee machine in the room was also not functioning properly. The staff made an effort to repair it, and while the issue was not fully resolved, the machine had to be manually stopped to prevent over-pouring, it was at least usable.

This is the third Marriott hotel ive stayed in this year after the ones in D.C. and in Vienna..this one easily the worst..i feel bad saying that cause people at the concierge were helpful. However, the cleaning team was a disaster..to start off, we were staying for 10 days. Upon arrival we wwre assigned a room that literally smelled like sewage..we were too tired to say anything so we endured that evening..the next day we spoke to the front desk and they moved us to another room saying: \"this one is on the other side of the building so there shouldnt be a problem with the smell\"..which tells me they knew about the problem and they gave us the room anyway cause hey who cares right? Anyway..we stayed in a family room (with me my wife and two kids ages 8 and 5)..i had to push one of the beds towards the wall to make sure my 5 year old doesnt fall off the bed. Doing that revealed a huge stain on the carpet plus dirt on the floor..in a nuttshell, i notified the front desk 4 times about it..the first time the housekeeping simply moved the bed back in its place to cover the dirt...spoke to them again..they tried to clean the stain but not the floor..after the 4th time they changed the rug but they STILL didnt clean the floor..my goodness..they called to see if i had comments i truly didnt care at that point so i didnt tell them that the floor was still dirty...one last note...at that price range and no smart tv? That is just unacceptable

Our family stayed here for a few nights before disembarking on a rive cruise. We picked this hotel because of the location and we needed the ease of an American style hotel. We booked a room that would hold 4 of us. Very close to the Museum district and restaurants. I would mention that the check in and concierge help was a bit slow. But that's me coming from New York. Recommend.

My biggest issue was the inconsistency with staff. While all were friendly, there were issues everywhere.
1. My Bonvoy number was not recorded properly, lots of confusion surrounding it.
2. At check in, I was told repeatedly that there was no room service breakfast. I said no, I understand the room I booked includes breakfast downstairs but if I pay for it, extra, I can have it delivered to my room. No we don’t offer that. Suffice to say it was a communications breakdown, lost in translation, whatever. I did get breakfast delivered and charged to my room.
3. I placed my order via the digital system. I entered specific requests where they left space for me to do so. This worked great for two dinners. And one breakfast. The first breakfast was a disaster; not one note was read or acknowledged. No cup for the tea. No milk for the tea. Scrambled eggs not egg whites. Etc etc.
4. I booked and prepaid for a car to take me to the Amsterdam Cruise Terminal. At the time of checkout, a tour group was departing and an American was arguing over his bill. The staff were spinning but no one more than the doorman. I told him I had booked a car, prepaid and he would be there soon. I had to checkout first. He came back two minutes later, flustered. I said he’s here? Yes! I said great, pls load the luggage and I will be right out. Basically, I was put in wrong car. My guy calls my cell. Drivers were great. We meet and switch! But staff were over their heads by one tour group! Yikes!

We stayed for only 2 nights at this hotel on a family trip. The location is terrific and is an easy walk to many of the best sights in Amsterdam. The beds were very comfortable and the shower was good. There are some renovations happening in the lobby area and the room we were in did not have a nice view (#210), otherwise I would have given it 5 stars.

Great location and a really comfortable stay

We chose the Marriott based on it overall reputation and location as a family of 4 sharing a family room.
Location was perfect and the majority of places we wanted to visit during were walkable which was ideal.
We only had breakfast once and there was lots of choice for everyone, however we did think it was a little on the expensive side, so chose to eat out the rest of our break which did work out cheaper.
Room was really spacious considering there was 4 of us - 2 children aged 11 and 17 and the beds were lovely and comfortable and we all slept well. No noise issue's either with others stsying in the hotel in nearby rooms.
One thing to note is that a security deposit will be held against your card at €100 per night, however this was quickly released following check out.
Would definitely recommend and return again.

The hotel rooms are small but clean. The hotel itself is nice, but situated at a major intersection and on a tram line. Therefore, it is VERY noisy and hard to tune out the street sounds.
There are better options down closer to Moco where you can stay at a boutique hotel
for far less.

Definitely below my expectations. I have been staying in this hotel multiple times. This time service was the worst ever. Room was not cleaned by staff and it took me multiple calls to housekeeping to get water and fresh towels. Service at a bar area was terrible

My rating is extreme for a few reasons:

Pros:
Hotel is in a great location, everything is walking distance and transportation is readily available.

Breakfast is available at an additional charge, the food was mediocre but the service there and the coffee made it worth it. I would suggest you do not include breakfast and visit the hundreds of restaurants nearby.

Cons: check in was easy but employee at the front desk was not very pleasant didn’t offered any suggestions and when asked about restaurants he was rude and said “go visit the concierge for that”

I am always impressed by the professionalism, kindness and attentiveness of the staff at this hotel. The hotel is within walking distance of the tram to Central Station and the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gough museums. Lovely restaurants with outdoor, people-watching sitting areas are within the vicinity of the hotel.

Upon check in at 3pm only 1 of my 2 rooms was ready. 2nd room wasn't ready until after 8pm. The room was not clean, water filled in the tub, hair in the sink and the shower lamp leaked water.

Nice hotel but very overpriced for what you get :) there is definitely other luxury options that would cost you just as much and give you better value. The rooms are renovated, clean, the bed could be more comfortable, reception not helpful and amenities at the hotel were not great but good enough. Also woke up with what looks like a bite from something.
