Convenient location, but we had issues with the AC the entire time. We notified the front desk 3 times. The 1-2 time, they told us they could change the temperature of the AC from the front desk, and the 3rd time, we found out that we were in a separate tower and they were not able to change the temperature as they said... the AC was just not working in our room...

The hotel is an excellent location, right by the Museumplein tram stop (~25 min bus from airport), the Rijksmuseum/Van Gogh museums, and ~15-30 min walk to the Jordaan and more central spots. The neighborhood was quiet, and the hotel was right on the Vondelpark. There was always someone at the desk/entrance. Truly my only annoyance was that we arrived a couple of hours before check-in to drop off bags, our room happened to be ready, but we were asked to pay a ~20 euro charge for an early check-in fee if we wanted to actually access the room (we had not requested early check-in in). We paid it, as it was worth it to us to clean up after an overnight international flight, but I’ve never been asked to do this before.

Staff were very friendly. They were unable to give good suggestions for the area regarding food options accommodating food sensitivities.
The room was less than adequate with showering being a big problem - low to almost nonexistent water pressure - seemingly competing with other rooms for water pressure. The bathtub was non-operational. Got some excuse regarding the timing of the problem but when we booked it was advertised as having a functioning tub! No accommodation given for the tub problem.

The only disappointment was the size of the room. The site said 200 square meters for the room, but the room seemed significantly smaller. There was maybe .25 meters between the bed, the toilet was in a closet and there was no door on the shower closet. Definitely do not recommend for two traveling friends.

The hotel is on a great neighbourhood - highly walkable, restaurants nearby, and a gorgeous park right out the front door.

The rooms are very small and basic, but did the job. Staff were very nice. The lobby bathroom was in poor condition but everything else was clean and working.

Great location – van Gogh Museum short walk, airport bus short walk, supermarkets short walk. Very convenient location wise. Compact rooms – to be expected ! Our bathroom sink hardly flowed and was not sorted out which was a hassle; staff friendly and (as with most people in Amsterdam ) spoke English.

The staff members were all very polite and extremely helpful (arranging taxis, lending out a phone charger, extra towels, barista service).

The hotel was within walking distance of many museums, countless restaurants and shops. All in all, a very good location.

The rooms were small, but quiet, comfortable and clean.

This hotel was across the street from Vondelpark. Very walkable to museums. And many restaurants. I would stay there again. While the hotel did not have a restaurant, we were getting over jet lag so would have not gotten up in time to eat breakfast anyway. They did say they were working on opening a breakfast cafe.

We absolutely loved S&A Vondelpark, our room was on the 3rd floor and the building is so full of character while still having every amenity needed. The common areas and fireplace downstairs are very nice, the staff are friendly and the location is outstanding - vondelpark, cafes, restaurants, shopping are all so.convenient. Will definitely go back.

I was really looking forward to my time in Amsterdam, but this stay was a massive disappointment. Between the lack of hygiene and some very questionable management practices, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

The most alarming part of the stay was the complete lack of security regarding luggage. When we needed to store our bags, the staff just let us walk into the storage closet by ourselves. Anyone could have easily walked off with someone else's belongings. It felt incredibly unsafe and unprofessional.

The cleanliness was also well below par. There was a persistent, heavy smell of mold in the room that made it feel damp and unhygienic. It’s clear that maintenance and deep cleaning are not a priority here. There was staining on the iron board, sofa, and the shower curtains were nasty.

The women working the morning shift were not welcoming or kind. It felt like a burden just to speak with them. The staff working at night were much nicer and more helpful, but their kindness couldn't make up for the overall state of the hotel.

Overall, the combination of a moldy environment and the \"self-service\" security for personal property makes this a place to avoid.

Perfect place to stay. Right in the heart of the city, nothing was too far away. The hotel was clean, the staff was helpful & friendly. As first time visitors of Amsterdam it was perfectly close to everything we wanted to see (museums, canal tours, Foodhallen, etc). Pretty clean hotel and bathroom. I liked the modern look. Staff was very helpful and friendly, they told us local places to visit, gave us adapters and we were able to store our luggage in the day of check out. Only downside is that there us no mini fridge or microwave so you’d have to be eating out practically everyday, as you can’t save food for the next day

On our arival we were greeted by wonderful staff. Really helpful nice and kind we booked in fast and easy and showed to our rooms. The rooms were great clean and comfortable. One of our rooms had an amazing view of the park which i sometimes dont find in amsterdam which is never really an issue anyway as you are out most of the day anyway just a place to stay and as long as the room is clean thats all that matters so this was definitely a bonus. The room itself was lovely clean well kept and the tea and coffee in the room was lovely and if you needed more or wantwd more or extra towels you were able to get these . In the reception area is a lovely comfortable seating area that people were sitting in having drinks and playing games and just chatting in which was nice. The hotel is situated really close to the museums and a great eating area with great bars restaurants and cefe. Plenty of shops around if you needed to pick up anything you need like toiletries or snacks or drinks and is close to a tram stop to get you anywhere around the city. Overall it was a great hotels and would definitely recommend

This property had a sign advising 'Hotel is not responsible for the loss, damage or theft of items' so we took extra care to lock our bags. When we returned to our room, we found that the zips had been split open on our luggage which was stored in the cupboard. I raised this issue (amongst others) with hotel management who denied any wrongdoing and insisted that I had no evidence. The hotel stated that they would stop housekeeping services to avoid this issue in the future, which I said was not an acceptable solution - housekeeping is one of the reasons I chose to stay in a hotel and not an Airbnb.

The hotel manager then proceeded to ask us to vacate the hotel within the hour at 11pm on a Saturday night. This was on Easter long weekend where availability was limited. The hotel did not provide us the grounds on which they were asking us to leave. It also refused to refund us.

Thank you to Hotels.com for stepping in to facilitate assisting us to move to another hotel after midnight. In addition, the bathtub as advertised did not work, the water pressure is low and the room did not look like the images shown.

The hotel is in a lovely position, opposite Vondel Park, is very close to the major museums and close shops and restaurants. The staff are very helpful and the hotel has a very relaxed vibe. I really enjoyed my stay and the room was a sanctuary to come back to after a busy day sightseeing and shopping.

Nice location good for tram and buses to get around.Very close to all museums.Staff very pleasant and polite. Bedroom was in the basement which I hadnt realised so not the nicest view.
Had a problem with the heating the first night it was exceptionally cold. Staff rectified it the following morning. Tv only worked on the last night due to server problems and had limited english channels. We weren't aware of a downstairs lounge area until leaving and that there were an array of eating places etc closeby in Leidseplein. More information from the hotel at check in would have been helpful but overall the hotel was value for money.

A special shout-out to those who went above-and-beyond in service, kindness, supportive information and general wow-ness—Sunny, Mariam, Nicole, and Medi (dang, this isn’t quite right, but the day manager). Although the amenities and room conditions were not stellar, we will stay again because of the staff!! Additionally, the staff worked to compensate for what the hotel lacked. Thank you all!!!

Sunny is the reason I’d return if she were still working there. I wouldn’t consider the trip back otherwise. She went above and beyond to accommodate my needs. She even gave me a late check-out because of some issues with the room, like the heater and the remote control on the TV. Also some things that were missing from the room, which she quickly resolved.

However, I must say that the location was prime. The hotel was walking distance to everything I needed. But the room definitely needed some updating. There was no refrigerator or phone in the room, which was a bit odd for me. Overall, if you’re traveling alone, it’s a great option.

Really a beautiful space all around--the common areas are well-appointed, and my individual room was quite large and very comfortable. This hotel is really convenient for getting around: it's a quick walk to the Museumplein, and the tram is just a couple of blocks away. There is also a good grocery store, some restaurants, and a great gelato shop just on the other side of Vondel Park--a six minute walk or so. I only spent two nights here this time, but will definitely try to return on my next trip to Amsterdam!

I've left this hotel with numerous bed bugs bites.
On two occasions have been woken up by hotel staff barging into my room without knocking early in the morning, even though it wasn't my check out date. They did not apologise for the rude awakening.

We travel to Amsterdam three times a year and this is the most best boutique hotel cleanness is exceptional from the entrance of the hotel is absolutely beautiful. This hotel is just in the right place for everyone to all the excursions. The staff are absolutely amazing and also they can’t do enough for you. Housekeeping are very very good and keep your room clean at all times with fresh towels daily and clean Line.

Nice hotel, but out of centre but easy to grab trams and buses to where you need to get too, just opposite Vondel park so perfect walking spot for park walks. Room was small twin but plenty of room, it was a little dark but great as we were out most of the days, beds were comfy and good pillows, old have done with extra coffee in the room as this was only provided on day we arrived, when the rom was cleaned the cups, and refreshments weren’t replaced for three days, but overall great hotel, very nice staff on the reception desk and helpful on check in and departure, we were able to leave our bags and wait for our transport in the evening when traveling back to the UK.

You can only get out of the double bed from one side, which would be okay if I was alone. But as I was with my partner not so great. It is one of the smallest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in.

The shower didn’t have a shower curtain or anything like it and it took an age to get the water warm / hot.

When we checked in around 10pm we were very thirsty so we put the kettle on and found out that there were no cups or anything by the kettle or anywhere else. There were some shot

This was like a glorified hostel. They give you a free bottle of champagne to make you forget how dingy it is. The room was TINY and not to mention, they have elevators for the higher floors but if you’re on the lower you have to not only carry your bags up the stairs to get into the property but up the set of stairs to the first floor. I know it’s Europe, and I planned for that; but good to know for those that don’t.

My biggest issue was that the people in the room from me came back at 4am and were making a lot of noise. They woke me up by slamming the doors back and forth and two guys were arguing with some girl. We weren’t far from the front desk and the staff didn’t do anything so at 4:30 I opened the door and asked them to shut up. I get that it’s Amsterdam but like at 4am try to be a little respectful.

I checked in later at night and the front desk guy seemed frazzled. Didn’t tell me anything about breakfast or anything else, just asked for my passport and told me where my room was. If you’re looking for something on a budget, this place is for you. If you’re looking for something more average, I’d look for other options.

It was in a good location. Walking distance to the museums, Christmas markets, and fun nightlife.
