We loved the Iron Horse!! Location was fantastic, we walked to several places from the hotel. The room was gorgeous and huge, very comfortable. I agonized over where to stay in milwaukee and really happy with this hotel. The lobby has an oddly strong scent of aftershave that made us laugh. The valet are really friendly, front desk was great too!

Cleaning service consisted of making the bed and putting out towels. Failed to clean toilet, vacuum or refill coffee station the first 3 nights despite leaving standard tip each morning. I had to call to get coffee pods each morning. Obviously the toilet was not cleaned since the coffee I poured out on leaving was still there in the afternoon. A couple of berries I spilled at night were still on the floor proving she did not vacuum. Sad situation because the hotel structure is incredibly nice and front desk pleasant.

Unfortunately, our stay was just “ok.” Beds were nothing special, actually didn’t sleep good at all. Our room was musty smelling from the time we walked in and the smell never went away. I noticed the wood on the ceiling looked to be wet and moldy. (Hence, more than likely the smell). That was a turnoff.
The shower was nice and big however the shower head is mounted on the ceiling and also has a handheld head in the shower mounted to the wall. It was quite a step up to get in and the water pressure was minimal. It was not user friendly to operate.
Shay was the front desk staff member on duty. She was amazing and brought a positive, happy smile to the desk. She was a delight and was very welcoming. It was a nice greeting.
The bar/patio area was fantastic. We ordered some food out on the patio and enjoyed a nice fire place and comfy couches. There were many people out enjoying these amenities and it was nice to see.
The Iron Horse in general is beautiful. Well constructed and has beautiful decor. I loved the full size motorcycles inside the Hotel.

Ironhorse is located in Walkers Point. Lots of restaurants and bars close by. Brewery and Distilly located almost across the street. Close to Harley Museum and American Familt Field. Very nice patio. We didn't eat at the restaurant because there were so many options close by. Parking can be a problem. Hotel only offers Valet parking. Lot and ramp almost next door are available for about half the price of valet. Check in was excellent. Desk staff was very helpful.

This property exceeded my expectations. The architecture was nice, and the staff made it exceptional. Our room was a king deluxe and had all the bells and whistles. In the lobby, there was live music, pool table, a back patio to get fresh air, and valet parking. The onsite gym was a nice touch as well. Even though I grew up in Milwaukee, I would stay here again no doubt next time I'm in town.

DO NOT STAY HERE. Someone broke into our room, flooded the bathroom sink, and the hotel charged me $250 while refusing to return my calls.
On 5/15 left our room with the do not disturb sign on the door. When we returned, our belongings had clearly been moved around and the toilet paper was soaked. I called for replacements and was told our room had flooded because we “left the sink on” and that we’d be charged $150.
I immediately spoke with the manager, Louis, and explained we absolutely did not leave the sink running. We had used the sink for 2 days with no drainage issues. Even if it had been left on accidentally, why would it suddenly clog and overflow? I asked him to check cameras or key logs between 3:45–6 PM while we were gone. He claimed there were no cameras but said he’d check the key logs and call me back. He never did.
A housekeeper later told me the exact same thing had happened to another guest a few days earlier — another “sink left on” flood that caused complaints.
The next morning, no manager was available before our flight. I left my information and never got a callback. I called again on 5/18 and was promised another callback from the GM. Nothing.
Today, I discovered they increased the charge from $150 to $250 for “damages” without explanation. Still no manager available.
This entire situation feels extremely sketchy. No communication, no accountability, no explanation, and multiple similar incidents. Stay away from this hotel.

This is probably one of the most beautiful iconic historical hotels you will see. The artwork alone is like being in an art show. The architecture, the industrial feel, plus all the motorcycle and vintage merchandise. I've traveled quite a bit and I've never seen anything quite like it. Amazing, fantastic, beautiful, inspiring, iconic, fun, historical, and good food and drinks. You won't be disappointed.

The rooms and lobby are beautifully decorated. You can tell someone put a lot of effort and love into the unique setup and design. The checking in process was easy and the lady was congenial. The valet parking attendant and bartender were also very friendly. We loved it and would stay there again. Warning - if you get a $20 food and beverage credit, make sure they give you the \"gift card\" when you check in. We didn't think about the credit until the next morning. When we asked the woman at the desk about the credit, she briskly told us it didn't work for breakfast. Other than that experience, it was truly a nice place to stay.

Nice looking rooms, comfy bed, Keurig, but not great pillows. Strangely shallow sink. The worst part was how poorly the loft rooms were insulated for noice. We weren't warned that a massive Derby party was happening in the entire hotel, and the room next to ours stayed up shouting at the top of their lungs until 11:30. We had paid to upgrade to a loft for the high floor, but you could see that the lofted ceiling allowed a crack for noise between rooms. At 9:30 the next morning we tried to check out, but the desk wasn't staffed by anyone who could work the computers. Weird! Would not recommend.

This hotel hosts an event during the weekend of the Kentucky Derby. Unless you are attending the event- I would avoid the hotel during this weekend. Many hotel amenities are adjusted to cater to those participating in the Derby event- it’s not beneficial for guests who are not.

As we pulled up it was confusing as to where to go or park or stop for valet. Once we figured it out I will say our valet nick was fantastic. Unfortunately that was the only thing fantastic. The place was absolutely packed for a derby event. Our fault for not checking that before. Not the hotels fault for having a successful event. But, I couldn’t even figure out where the front desk was. Finally found it, got to our room and it was pretty awful. Not clean, a balloon from a previous guest still suck up on the ceiling, TV hanging crooked on the wall, hair in the bathroom, and one k-cup for the morning. The remote wouldn’t turn down the TV and we could hear every word anyone said in the hallway and room next to us. We grabbed our bags and left and drove 3 hours back home. We had plans for the night but getting through that lobby and trying to come and go from there would have been a nightmare. Much easier to take the hit on the $$$ and cancel plans. We booked it for the motorcycle then after visiting the Harley Museum but in the future we’ll look in the Milwaukee burbs for a room.

My room was not clean when I arrived at 10:30pm. The receptionist and bar staff were amazing, but because the hotel was sold out we were sent to another hotel. That hotel room was much smaller, smelled like sewage, and had maintenance issues. The staff were amazing, but if management thinks that sending me to a smaller sub-par room at a different hotel is an equivalent then I have no desire to come back.

Rooms need updating. The carpet was all bunched up and worn out in our room. Asked the lady at the front desk for a cup to get a glass of water from a little cart they had by check in and she told me they were out. Had to ask her to see if she had anything and she got up and got me 2 coffee cups. Then I turned around to find out there was nothing but ice left in the jar. I let her know and she simply said “ok”. Not a lot of care for creating and experience.

The building itself is amazing. There seemed to be a recent takeover so there were a number of staff who were not well trained. The house keeping was an issue every single day of our stay. Our keys deactivated twice in our 4 day stay. The restaurant was probably the worst of the experience. We ordered lunch with only one other table in the entire restaurant. Thirty plus minutes later no food. The main bar was the best of the experience. Friendly staff and served delicious cocktails. Also, my room had a gorgeous view and a fun vibe. Hoping that once the takeover has had some time, these issues will be ironed out. This hotel has great potential.

The staff was great. And I love the doggie water bowl with all the names of the dogs staying at the hotel. There was some stick stuff in the carpet in our room right next to the bed that was dark in color. I’m not sure what it was, it almost seemed like tar. And there was a lime on the floor in one of the elevators from the time we got there until the time we left.

One of those rare hotels where the place you stay is actually one of the highlights of your trip, instead of just a way to get to other highlights. The design is cool - you're surrounded by exposed brick and reclaimed wood. On our stay, the people were super friendly and authentic, and there were spaces in the room and common areas where we wanted to linger just for fun.

We were not aware that there was an active train route that passed by the hotel. It was very loud at night and we did not get good sleep. I would stay again. However, I’d request a room on either a higher floor or on the opposite side of the hotel.

Hotel was great! The bar was absolutely horrible. I went to the bar on Thursday night around 9pm, it was kind of crowded, took about 10 minutes to order a draft beer, and even longer to get it. When it finally arrived, which took a good ten minutes, the bartender and barback never checked back up on me, even when I had an empty glass in front of me. I flagged down the barback, asked for my check, and waited five minutes. Threw down $5, and left. Friday night, bar had maybe ten people in it at 8pm. After getting the attention of the bartender and barback twice asking to make an order and getting \"Just a second, we'll be right with you\", I left after 20 minutes. Horrible, horrible service in the bar. I can't recommend it.
